Give Carrie a raise! She was holding down the fort 8n the mall all by herself and there was a line of 7 people waiting to be helped. She remained calm and super friendly the entire time, making sure everyone was taken care of within a decent time frame. I was getting frustrated as I was last in line but her upbeat character turned that feeling around for me really quickly.

This is the store located in Kotzebue AK. This is a small place. The store is not always well stocked a d they no longer offer transferring data from old phone to new. The sad thing is internet capability here sucks so you dont get good data on your phone.

Pretty easy one star google says GCI is open til 6pm on google and on their website. For the 5th location on New Years. Drove all the way down here to find their closed. Will post pictures on my yelp review.
Its a cellphone store, what else can I say ? Employees were helpful and friendly, but for Rural Alaska, its the only service that works in many areas, so it can get pricey for some bush communities. Good prices on data plans in the cities.
Excellent service, very quick at low-volume times and as quick as humanly possible at high-volume times. Always friendly, always knowledgeable, always professional staff. Excellent range of communications/digital solutions. I was one of those customers dragged kicking and screaming from ACS when they decided their cellular customers didnt matter to them anymore. Ive found GCI better in every way since. The Fifth Avenue store is a great example of why and how.

I simply try to avoid GCI. Their customer service is terrible. I left the state and returned after a couple of years. Before I left I cut of my service and paid my final bill. I spoke to a rep on the phone and in person when I turned in the equipment, I was assured that the account was closed with no other bills heading my way. I recently returned and needed internet, when I attempted to restart my services they said that there was a bill in default from the time I left. I paid the late bill and was informed that a deposit was needed. I know I was charged double for a bill I had already paid for years ago and am very irritated that I had to penalize twice for something that wasnt my fault. In the future Im taking all reps names & recording dates. It is unfortunate but, I do not trust this company.

If it weren’t for the internet and phone package I would have switched services the first week I had it. Worst customer service I’ve ever experienced at any business. Not to mention the mysterious extra payments that pop up that seem like they’ve already been paid but get ready cause you’re gonna be on hold for 45 minutes minimum if you try to call about it, so I don’t even bother anymore. Don’t expect any of your problems to be fixed at GCI cause you’re on your own when you’re with GCI. Each month I have had a late payment and had to go in store to settle the issues, make a late payment, and re give them my auto pay information because “Something is wrong with the system”. Each time the employees have taken my number and told me they would call me to confirm that my auto pay is set up in the system.. come to find out 3 months in a row it’s one week past the payment due date and I realize GCI hasn’t billed me and I have to drive to the store once again because I can’t get in contact over the phone. Also I preordered my new iPhone the day that they were available for preorder, and now it’s two weeks later after they have been released to stores and I’ve gone in the store 4 separate times to see if they have it and nobody can give me a decent answer as to why they don’t know where my phone is. When I go to Verizon I have 3 different people waiting for me to come in so they can help me, and when I walk in GCI I have to wait in line for 30 minutes to be dealt with. I’ve emailed GCI customer support multiple times with my complaints and problems and they have yet to reply because their customer service is non existent. The $75 I save on internet each month is not worth the gas money I spend driving back and forth to fix problems that this company creates.

Cancelled service due to moving, and 2 years later the send a $200 doller bill to collections for fees and service. Did not try and contact me once. That is poor organization, and customer service.
