If we could give this company six stars we would! They were extremely accommodating to us. The driver, Eric, was great in getting the van where we needed it and making sure that we got to the airport in time. We made the reservation about six months prior to needing it, and even though the owner could have probably gotten triple for the rental, he honored the agreement he had made with us.These guys are working super hard and I appreciate all they did to help make our trip in Alaska an unforgettable experience. They are amazing and I couldnt have asked for anything more. Highest possible recommendation!

We rented a 12 seater van for 9 days for our Alaska trip. From booking to return it was a 5 star experience, Ron was always prompt in communication and ensured we got a Van which had good luggage space. He arrived to pick us up within literally 5 minutes after call, the check-in was smooth and quick. On return Ron graciously dropped us at the airport, seeing us struggling with kids and car seats he even helped unload the bags. A true gentleman who keeps his word. Thanks Ron and team .

We rented a Ford Transit van from Ron for 10 days and it was an awesome experience. He hooked us up with all the camping gear we needed, a thick and comfortable foam mattress for sleeping and was super helpful with any questions we had. He was a pleasure to do business with and the van was in excellent shape - nearly brand new. I highly recommend Ron and Alaska Adventure rentals. Awesome, quality vehicles that allow you to be flexible during your travels through Alaska.

We rented a passenger van for our family vacation. Ron made the whole rental easy and stress free, from booking the reservation to airport drop off at the end of the trip. Thank you Ron and team for a great rental experience. We rented 12 passenger van from Alaska Adventure rental for 8 days. We arrived earlier than what we indicated when we booked the van due to flight schedule changes. Our van was not ready but Ron offered to drop our family at our hotel and pick us up once the van is ready. When we dropped of the van, he went out of way to drop us at airport. I would like to Thank Ton and Eric for their suggestions on sightseeing, restaurants and making our rental experience very pleasant.

Day 1 with our rental van the car was vibrating and got worse throughout the day. Checked it in Seward and one of the lug nuts was missing with the others loose to the point that the wheel could soon fall off. We were able to get a replacement nut at a local auto shop the next day. Upon returning the van and explaining the problem, Ron was barely willing to refund the cost of the nut and was very nasty, saying lets call it even because they had insisted we take a mattress, pillows, and a couple odds and ends that we werent planning to have (which was nice of them at the time).My impression went from all right this company is good even though the vehicles need more attention to these guys are jerks. If everything goes well, I guess it wont be a problem, but if something does, I would expect these guys to blame you for everything and you will get little help. The prices are outrageous for a car that could have fallen apart on us hours after leaving the lot.

I cannot express how awesome our experience was with this company. We got a car with the tent on top to explore the Kenai. The tent was so comfortable, and it came with a bin with camping equipment. He was kind and very patient with me. I messed up the dates originally and he was able to get us a car and make everything work. I wish I could rate the experience 10 stars...

I have read other reviews on the owner Ron how nice and professional he was and I had quite the opposite experience with him. I called in May to try and make a reservation because no one else seemed to have any vehicles available. He did not have the vehicle we wanted for the dates we needed it for. So I took what he had which was 3 days less than we needed. I finally was able to book another vehicle for the 8 days we needed. I called today to cancel one month early and he is keeping my $500 deposit even though he admits he will book it again today. I have 5 emails where I followed up on getting the dates changed or a different vehicle so they were fully aware I wanted the full 8 days. During my conversation the owner repeatedly told me to shut up and listen to him.

We just finished a 1 week rental of one of the camping SUVs. Ron was fantastic to work with. With the current shortage of rental vehicles, and the practices of some rental companies, we were nervous of the possibility that we would arrive and not have a vehicle waiting for us. Alaska Adventure guarantees their rentals, and Ron was true to his word. The SUV was in great condition, and fully equipped, I mean FULLY equipped, with camping gear. I could not have been happier about our experience. I will recommend Alaska Adventure to anyone going to Alaska. Thank you Ron! You helped create a great Alaska trip for me and my wife.

We had a really good experience with this company. When our Uber guy dropped us off he said they had a bad reputation which threw me off at first based on all the good reviews.However, he was wrong. The cars are beat up but thats because the people renting them arent taking care of them. We were provided all the camping supplies we would need, sleeping bags (for a free but we got one free for our kiddo), pillows, chairs, and explanation on how to use the tent. The cars have regular maintenance and it took us down to Seward and up to Denali NP with no problems! We were given our deposit back in cash and were driven to our hotel upon drop off. Really grateful for the opportunity to camp and have the supplies we needed without having to buy everything.

This guy (Ron) canceled my reservation the same day he charged my card....I sent these guys an email a week or two ago asking about availability for August. We emailed back and forth a bit then I just called because I thought that would be easier. Everything seemed to be peachy. So he told me to send an email requesting specific dates and a formal request so I did. No issues. He told me he would send me a confirmation and then to contact him with a credit card to hold my reservation.This is where things start getting odd.I called him as soon as I received the email. He told me he was tied up and to call him back later because he would inevitably forget. Okay, a bit unprofessional but whatever.I was unavailable so my partner contacted him. We wanted to ask some questions about adding a driver, some of the equipment that is supposed to be included and a few other things. He was apparently too busy to answer questions and told my partner to Contact him in the morning.Then he sent me an email later that day saying if I didnt give him the credit card information he was going to cancel my reservation request.I responded as soon as I saw it saying, why would you do that? Ive tried to give you my credit card twice and you werent available to help me.!I called him right away and he told me that my partner never offered to give the credit information, which is not true. I thought that was really odd but told him we still wanted to confirm our reservation if it was still available and chalked it up to a misunderstanding.Today, I got the contract and noticed the vehicle has a 150 miles per day limit.Okay, Im wanting to do more driving than that so I called and left a message telling him my planned route and asking about adding miles.He called me back and just went off. Right out of the gate telling me one of the places on my planned destination (Eagle) was off road and that Id be breaching contract.I had no idea of this. And one of the reasons I was calling him was to discussion options. I honestly assumed that because its a city it would have a paved access.I tried to talk to him and explain that I had never been there and I didnt know, I didnt have any intention of breaking the contract. But also in our initial email it says, unless previously agreed upon so I assumed we could have a rational conversation about what was acceptable. I was totally willing to add a fee or whatever if that was what he wanted (the initial email says you can add miles for .35. Ive included screen shots)I was literally just trying to be upfront and ask questions from a professional. But this guy is definitely not a professional.Instead of talking to me he was yelling and going off. I asked if I could speak to Ashleigh, (who is the other name on the email) because we were both frustrated and I felt we needed another party in the discussion. So of course he just said were done and hung up the phone.Anyways, I said all that to say, dude is kinda shady and at the very least unprofessional.

If you are considering adventuring around Alaska (and you should be!), then renting a car is THE way to do it. My Brother and I rented a camper jeep from Ron and MY WORD, it was EPIC!! Look no further for someone to rent from. Ron was so easy to work with, gave us great travel details and a very helpful map, and the jeep was an absolute thrill! I would adventure Alaska 100x over again with one of Rons camper jeeps. The setup and take-down can be done in under 2 minutes easy (we did it plenty of times). We were able to go places that other rental cars could not, AND camp there :-) from the snowy Thompson pass towards Valdez, to the Denali Highway, to a dried river bed outside of Seward (plenty of great driftwood for fires!). If you pay extra to do the Denali and McCarthy highways (totally worth it...we did both), then make sure to check your tire pressures before heading out onto the roads, because theyre very rocky, and temperatures fluctuate during the summer, so pressures change a lot! Choose Ron and his rentals, and you will have a wonderful trip around Alaska.

I was in town for a family trip and couldn’t find a rental car anywhere. When I told the owners my predicament, they found a van for me to rent for the day and they gave me a great price. The service was outstanding and I have since rented two other vehicles from them. They have picked me up and dropped me off each time. This kind of great customer service is hard to come by these days.Any time I go back to Alaska, I will definitely rent from them.

My wife and I rented an Ursa Minor from Ron in San Diego & after a classy reception, drove it up the Cassiar (CAN) and on to Anchorage in May, 2018.We followed that up with a month in AK (May/June). (Nearing the end)Rons rental company is first rate from beginning to end. He literally loads you with so much equipment - a quick trip to the grocery and youre good for a week in the bush...more if you pack dried foods!Hes consistently available for tips, recommendations, referrals and general advice. The mans a walking encyclopedia of Alaska!At the end of your trip, you can be sure of a convenient ride to the airport and that you got Anchorages best deal on a rental.Hint: Pay close attention to Rons directions, your rental contracts stipulations (i.e. what youre responsible for) and have a safe trip secure in the knowledge that youre covered!

We had a great experience with our Jeep rental. Ron kept in touch with me leading up to our trip and answered any questions I had.Eric got me checked in and ran through all the gear and showed me how the pop-up Jeep worked. He was super friendly and made sure I had everything I needed before I left.We followed some of the itinerary they had on their website and really enjoyed our experience!! Ron and his team at Alaska Adventure rentals run a great operation. My partner and I rented a Nissan Xterra with pop top tent for a 9 day Alaska adventure and couldnt have been more pleased. The vehicle was in great order and drove well, the pricing was reasonable, and the included camping gear made things easy. Lots of compliments on the pop up tent! Easy to set up, comfortable, durable, and came with everything we needed for camping. I have to say though, the best part was the customer care. My friend and I rented a Jeep camper and it was the coolest, most unique experience we could have. They gave us everything needed for camping, sleeping bags, pillows, camp kitchen, everything! My father and I rented a camper Jeep for the 2019 July/August Sockeye season. The guys running this shop are well organized and thoughtful. They were extremely accommodating and our Jeep was in excellent condition. We had more than enough camping supplies, they even provided stove fuel upon request. Would highly recommend! Best way to travel and camp the Kenai!

My husband and I had a great experience with our rental car! We rented one of the budget campers and it was great! It was very comfortable and easy to setup and pack up. Ron was very helpful with his recommendations of places to go and we got all the basics that we needed for camping! We will absolutely rent one of these campers again!

Awesome. Had the best time. Very comfortable bed up top. No worries about parking and driving a big RV all around, this worked perfectly and made experiencing the outdoors more enjoyable. Plenty of room in back for camping equipment too. Only negative is that EVERYONE wants to come up and ask about the jeep and camper top. People love it.

Excellent experience renting a Nissan Sentra for 17 days. We arrived late, slept in and called Ron who picked us up in 10 minutes. When we returned the car Ron drove us to the airport. Car was adequate for 3 extra large bags and two people. Good gas mileage. Price was much less than the high airport prices. If I get back to Alaska I will get my car from Ron.

This is a family owned company, not a big commercial operation so the vehicles you get are more weathered and are not shiny and new as they look on the website. The prices are also lower than the big companies so that was understandable. We rented a 12 passenger van for our family and it worked out well, they removed the last seat for us so we could easily stow our luggage. The first van we got had an issue with a tire, it was not in good shape and kept losing air. We called Ron, who requested that we stop at a tire place for repairs and he would reimburse us for it, however before that could be done, the van broke down and wouldnt start. Eric drove out to bring us a different van and wait for the tow truck and I have to say, even though we were quite a distance away, he was very prompt! He could not have been nicer and was most apologetic about the inconvenience. On the last day of our rental, we met Eric at the rental location and he drove us back to our hotel. After he left, we realized we had left a wallet in the van. I only had Rons phone number so I called him and he was very irate and rude to me. I was shocked by that as I had not experienced that demeanor previously. He told me Eric was the one working that day and had me call Eric. I explained the situation to Eric, who was completely understanding and drove all the way back to our hotel to return the wallet. He refused to accept a gratuity in appreciation of his extra trip. I truly appreciate Erics commitment to customer service and his knowledge of the area. He made some recommendations for places for us to see if we should have the opportunity to return to Alaska. He made it clear how much he loves the state and is a great asset to this company. I would do business with them again as long as Eric was still a part of the company.

He was a good guy he even dropped us off at our accommodation after returning the vehicle. Would definitely recommend renting from this business again. Do not rent a car from this guy!!!! My father just rented a car for a week and when they returned it late by 3 hours, because the freeway was closed due to a wreck and forest fires, the guy freaked out cursing them up and down. Even know they called and informed Ron that they would be late. He was supposed to take them to their hotel room 2 miles away but demanded they pay him $50 first. They paid him and he drove them to a scary spot in town and dumped them at a gas station and threw all their luggage out in the parking lot, all while cursing them out again!! This story is unbelievable!! The man should be arrested for literal highway robbery. Again, DO NOT RENT FROM THIS MAN, he is INSANE. Luckily a towe truck driver came by and saved them because he (the tow truck driver) was worried about them in that part of town. I cannot believe a business owner would do something so crazy!! He should be shut down and banned from renting cars. Absolutely shameful!!

What an amazing experience. My wife and I spent 3 weeks in one of the Jeeps. It was not only roomy enough, but better on gas than an RV, and allowed us to see places an RV couldnt get to. Terrible experience. When reservations were made we were told they would pick us up at the airport which was not the case. Had to call for a ride just to get to the rental site. Van was old and rusty and had a broken windshield. Due to traffic delays we made arrangements to return car after hours. When we arrived Ron ; the owner threw a fit and was so upset that he took our $50 tip and refused to take us to our hotel as promised. He dropped us off in a bad part of town throwing our suitcases and our fish boxes on the ground in the parking lot of a gas station and just drove away. The foul language and expletives were disgusting. I cant believe what a terrible experience this was. Do not rent a car from this man

The owner is two-faced and not very professional. When we picked up he was very jovial. We specifically mentioned that we wanted to drive Denali Highway - this was the main reason for renting a Jeep. He said no problem and he told us we were responsible to fix a flat tire but should keep the receipt so he could reimburse us. We actually had a flat and the spare tire was in lousy shape and hardly held up the distance to get to the next garage and have it fixed. When we returned the car he told us we weren’t supposed to drive Denali Highway (even though we had specifically discussed it with him) and he would not reimburse us. My advice - either don’t rent with this company or make sure you get everything in writing. And check the equipment thoroughly especially the spare tire.

Rental car owner, Ron, went above and beyond when our vehicle broke down about 160 miles north of anchorage. He send 3 different guys to try to fix the vehicle. Within 12 hours another car was being delivered to us and our vacation continued successfully. Thank you, Ron, youre the best and all 4 of us will not rent from anyone else.

The best customer service experience you could ever had. Needless to mention the two weeks trip at Alaska was a blast. Think of when you found out you lost the hand crank for the roof tent at 9pm in the middle of the trip……and you’ve been told do not lose it since it’s very hard to get another one before starting the trip. Even more, when you are at the airport about to go through the Security Custom and found out you left the wallet in the rental car, and it’s been two hours since you returned it and after hours.Ron and Ian did beyond all we can ask or imagine to help us, provide us a safe trip, and send us back home. It’s our “luck” to make two huge mistakes, furthermore, we are lucky enough to choose “Alaska Adventure Car and Camper Van Rental of Anchorage” to rent the SUV camper with Ron.Who can save you out of no where and after hours? And can you imagine you’ve been saved twice by the same group of people, no, heroes?Thank you Ron, and thank you Ian. Looking forward for the next “safe” trip with you guys.

The rooftop Jeep camper we rented made it easy to adjust our travel plans and set up camp wherever we wanted. Just had a great experience with Alaska Adventure Car Rentals. Called last minute and the owner was able to get me into a “Fisherman’s Special” -an slightly older Chrysler Sebring but for half the price of any car available from Thrifty et al. It was super comfortable, no smell, and drove well. He also threw in a can of bear mace. A huge bonus was the suggested itenerary he proved for the Kenai peninsula. Porcupine campsite outside of Hope is a gem, quiet but close to town, great views. Great suggestions for charters, hotels etc. Support a great local business!

My family in town visiting AK turned up to rent a car. The person at the rental kiosk made it very clear that he was angry about renting a car for less than a week. My family did not need a car for a full week, as their time here was less. He then asked them where they were traveling. (I can appreciate that, as it would make sense that he would not want to rent out to someone planning to drive the gravel roads of the Denali Hwy or Kennicott Glacier). When my family said they were planning on driving down to the Kenai Peninsula, the rental car agent said that was a long distance to drive in less than a week. That made no sense, it’s Alaska ! A drive to the Kenai, by Alaska standards, is not that far. When I asked the man at the kiosk to clarify that, he blew up at me and said I was in a bad mood. I was not at all in a bad mood, it was a simple query. He then said that he’s tired of people saying that they just need a car to get around Anchorage, and then later find out they’ve driven the car to Tok, Alaska. At this point, this is making no sense at all, as my family just informed him of where they are planning travel.I have never witnessed such rude and nonsensical customer service in my 20+ years of living in Alaska. The cars on the lot also appear to be in lesser than satisfactory condition (dents, scratches, etc). My family ended up renting a vehicle from another company that was exceedingly professional and provided the service and car they were looking for. Sometimes the few extra dollars spent are well worth it.
