I had a GREAT EXPERIENCE HERE. I booked a car several months in advance through Orbitz. When I started hearing about the rental car shortage I called and spoke with George the manager and he assured me my booking is solid and clarified two things. #1-Bring my personal insurance proof declaration document(easy enough) and #2-the car must be picked up within one hour of my pick-up time request, again, easy enough. When I got there right at 9am I noticed a very nice brand new SUV that looked obviously nicer than the level I booked so I inquired about that vehicle and to my total surprise they ended up giving me that car at no additional charges. If you want a great experience renting a car it pays to be patient & nice if they are busy and a little research and contact the company with any questions you may have and you’ll have a flawless and easy rental.

Great rates, great service, locally owned and operated. I was able to rent a new car (unexpected, and greatly appreciated), which was great for me due to my allergies. The staff worked with me when I needed the car longer than planned through COVID-19. Thanks for being there for me. #ShopLocal

Ive rented cars several times from Dollar and always had a positive experience. The vehicles are clean and new, and better suited to Alaska than other options. Nice features, low mileage and snow tires available as options.

Reserved on Priceline for a month. Francisco, at the counter, was simply awful to deal with. He argued that we had to have full insurance proof from our personal car insurance company. He literally argued with us that he wasnt going to give us one of his cars without proof we had car insurance for our personal car. I called corporate who confirmed he was wrong. I called the manager. Manager finally got Francisco to accept the reservation. We asked to extend for another month. Francisco told us we could only extend for 2 weeks at the time; charged us more than our existing reservation. Then we called to extend for the full month. Richard, another employee, who was nice and knew the process said no problem extended the reservation. I asked Richard that because we wanted to rent for another 30 days at the end of the existing time, would there be any problem doing so. Richard said no, not at all. Richard tells us we will get the same rate well just sign a new contract. Today, I called to say we would want to extend again. Jenny helped me. She told me there would be no problem, just come in and sign the new contract. We get a call from Francisco saying we had to have given a weeks notice that we wanted to extend. He makes up rules to please himself, no rhyme nor reason. And, frankly, even with such a ridiculous assertion, I had told Richard we would extend two weeks ago. Francisco said we couldnt have the car again because we hadnt given a weeks notice. We took the car back in. Jenny was sitting there - while Francisco was arguing with us, she said under her breath that there wasnt a problem extending the rental but she was staying out of this. What the heck!?! Francisco should NOT be working at the counter. He swore up and down that this notice requirement was on their website - it isnt. He swore up and down about the insurance requirement being on their website - it isnt because it isnt a requirement. Weve heard him telling other customers bad information. I have rented cars from this location for years, including SUVs for the summer months, and until this Francisco interaction, have always had good experiences. Management should take notice that ours is not the only complaint about Francisco and do something about it!

Booked online. Had no trouble. Got a 2016 Model KIA . Well maintained cars and the process was quick and simple. Good customer Service at this Spenard Rd Location from my experience.

Francis is a thief. DO NOT rent here. He tries to get you to prepay for a full tank, and then he never takes the charge off. VERY unpleasant experience. Go anywhere else, and if you really have to rent from here please seriously consider walking instead.

If I could rate negative I would, we had two horrible experiences!! The guy (did not have a name tag) was incredibly rude, and did not respected the amount agreed online when we made the reservation. I will never go back!
