Very unfortunate experience regarding swim lessons with my daughter. We had been taking our kids there through pee wee 3. My husband said our daughter was suddenly not wanting to go into the water with the new instructor. She said she was afraid of him...I went to see what was going on. We witnessed the instructor singling her out among the other kids, other times totally ignoring her. Her body language said it all. He was talking sternly and quietly to her and then she started crying. I overheard if youre going to just sit there and cry then just sit there and cry. Ignored her the rest of the class. No feedback from anyone. Went upstairs to find out about this guy. No response yet from anyone at the rec center. I left my name and number and am waiting for a call back from the aquatics director Tamara Yelmgren. I know most of the teachers there are wonderful but Im hoping this hasnt affected her going into the water in the future. Well probably be taking our kids to another facility.

Huge park facility. Giant swimming pool. Outdoor carousel and water park. Plenty of tennis courts and spacious ball fields. Summers camps, dance and karate studios and complete exercise gym. Rent party rooms.

Excellent indoor activity for everyone. I just with someone drop off for basketball game but spent almost 4 hours. Very nice place for kids also. U can bring your whole family. There is basket ball court. Tennis court volleyball gym swimming pool etc etc. Very reasonable entry fee. I dont know crew member name but young guy was very cheerfull and helpful.It was very nice visit and Im going back again very soon.

Very bureaucratic and not customer service centered. Some of the managers at the front desk are not very professional or polite. Classes are decent, but nothing more.

Overall this place is great. Although we joined during covid and most of the activities aren’t up and running we’ve really enjoyed the pool with our two children. The staff is friendly and caring. The facility is clean and they’re following all Covid precautions.

I go to workout everyday. I love the soccer fields, football field, tennis, pool, playground, and much more. Is a great park for practice many sports.

Great place to lap swim. Easy in, Covid safe. Not over crowded. Reservations needed for a lane. Locker rooms with clean shower and dressing room. Plenty of life guards on duty. Guards rotate every 15 minutes or so, checking the water often. They carefully watch all swim areas and seem responsible about the safety of others. The staff who checks you in is pleasant and friendly. The entire building that I could see was clean and staff were walking from area to area, cleaning each area in the common sections often. Masks requested up until you reach the water area. Each lane has a chair to use for your belongings since the lockers dont appear to be working now. The crowd is kept small and only the persons working out, swimming or other are allowed inside. Parents drop their swimmers at the door for evening swim practice. No one allowed in the building that isnt a participant. I felt safe in the pool, from Covid, other peoples germs, and from drowning since the guards were so alert.

Always a great experience here - my daughters have attended the preschool program, ballet, soccer and swimming.

I grew up going here and have now come back and are bringing my children. Watched it change upgrade and evolve over the years and am so proud to still be in the area.

Its not that its a bad place to be, especially for a place owned by the local government. Its just very mid-1980s in this place, and that can deter people. However, when I do come here, its usually a good experience. Aside from the building itself, it has changed well over the years.

Baja has all the ingredients to offer plant-based plates. Do it and increase clientele and profits.

Worked out in the Fitness Center, 40 minutes on machines, 15 minutes cardio. About 5 other people in the room, easy to get to each machine. I go 3 or 4 times a week. Would do more cardio but run out of time, dont care to hang around 30 minutes while they clean. My circuit is 17 stations of Cybex. They also have two cable stations, dumbbells, benches, a rack, plus treadmills, ellipticals, cycles, rowers, and a Stairmaster.

Friendly staff, great deals. Certain colored tags are on sale each day.

Awesome place for sports, kids, family, friends, etc. They have classes and activities for all ages. However, there is a young lady at the front desk who isnt trained properly and doesnt know how to recognize her own prejudices. When you are on the job, you need to be aware of personal faults within yourself like this so that you dont offend customers that bring your facility business.

Huge facility with an Olympic sized pool that allows for multiple people to use it at the same time. And anyone living in Fairfax county can use it for a low hourly fee if you cant afford the monthly membership which is a little steep for me. Also they have outdoor fields for soccer, baseball, football and running

Awesome please for parents to bring their kids! There are 2 jungle gyms, one meant for kids over 5, and one for younger toddlers. We love how its clean, theres a merry go round, and bathrooms with changing tables. Theres also a great walking trail with little activities for kids throughout. During the summer, theres a water park right next by. We rented one of the shelters by the toddler jungle gym for a birthday, and it was awesome!

Effective July 6, 2021 there will be the Nights in the Park musical programs on Wednesday evenings at the Amphitheater at 7:30 pm until August.Excellent rec center. I have participated in a number of its programs over a ten year period. The weight room is very helpful and has improved and maintained my fitness levelsI am working with a personal trainer. I have taken dance classes, used the pool and the hot tub as well as enjoyed musical programs in the outside amphitheater. It has a preschool program, and a wonderful spray park which serves children with special needs.

Overall very nice facility, been going there over three years. The kids swimming lessons were previously well organized, but the last few sessions were not as organized, mainly the last one at the summer beginning was just waste of time and money: there were no regular instructors on swim five level, for example out of six classes only twice the kids got same person, the rest were different and on one occasion the class was canceled because they had no substitute...they understood it was a mistake and promised they will work on it in the future...

Great basketball summer camp!

People there for recreation and the staff are all very friendly and helpful. Teachers are great. Facilities are always clean. Great rec center that is often underutilized.

Man, I grew up at this joint. The pool is great, my daughter loves the splash pad outside, they have classes. The list goes on and on.

Nice for a swimming

The big attraction at the rec center itself is the pool which is fine, the locker rooms could use a remodel dont think theyve been renovated since the place was built in the early 80s. The water park is a great in the summer and good for all kids and is designed to make it accessible to kids with disabilities. I have not explored the trails in the woods though.

We had our daughter do the baby swim/pool class. The class was great! As long as you know that Swimming isnt the real goal, more so getting you kid used to and happy in the water. Ivan was our instructor and he creates a fun environment where everyone gets to interact and play together while learning a few good tips for safety and growth in the water moving forward.

The preschool here has been our focus for 4 of the last 5 years. Its been a great experience from start to (almost--2 more weeks!) finish.

We are taking swimming class for my baby. Staff is kind and helpful. Very nice and big pool. We all love to visit this place.

Good facility with good rec programs

This rec center has it all.pool, basketball courts, racqueall courts, work out gym, soccer fields, sand volley ball arts and crafts. There is something for everyone. I hifhly recommend it.

I love the pool! I also love the hot tub and sauna. The staff and lifeguards are very helpful. Only problem is that I lost my ring in a locker. :(

We love Lee District for its reasonably priced childrens classes and the amazing splash park (go early or an hour before closing to avoid a very long wait to get in) and playground. The indoor pool is heated although sometimes its still too chilly for my taste in the winter. Ive never used the workout facilities but they look fine. The only drawback is that this place hosts a lot of huge swim meets and its very hard to find parking when there is a meet.

Three words: TOO DAMN HOT! I loathe whenever I swim here because the water is like a sauna and the overall temperature in pool area is burning hot. You will sweat. The toilets are always disgusting and or missing toilet paper.

Outstanding recreational facility, unfortunately the prices have become a bit outrageous: $6.50 for Fairfax county residence and $10.50 for out of county residence... I like the new mural of the National Mall they just painted on the pool!
