Jerry. Hill. After rowing in high school, my daughter had a goal of making her colleges Div 1, highly competitive rowing team as a walk-on. She was told by other coaches that this was pretty unlikely due to her small size and that she had likely maxed out her erg scores for her height and weight. Enter Jerry Hill. Jerry let her know that the ground she had to make up before tryouts would be difficult, but not impossible. He put her on a challenging, but not insane, workout program and supplemented that program with a steady stream of encouragement, enthusiasm, and guilt. She stuck to the program and made the team. More importantly, even if she never rows a stroke again, she learned from Jerry that if you are willing to put in the hard work you can reach your goals and to have the confidence that if someone says no, to find someone who says yes. My kid has had a lot of coaches, some great and some not so great, and Jerry is the absolute best.
I drop in whenever I’m in town. Jerry and the other coaches are so knowledgeable and welcoming. As a PT and casual fitness enthusiast, I love the new GOATA programming and the emphasis on mobility and strength. So many benefits, especially for preventing injury. If you’re looking for sustainable fitness and good people, try them out!

They got some new EYE-OPENING programming in (GOATA-Greatest of all time athletes) that focuses on natural body movement which helps reduce injury and the pain normally associated with more “traditional” workouts that has lead me to a higher performance level. I’m prone to back injuries when doing barbell workouts so this is ideal for me.Kick add workouts with a dedicated & knowledgeable coach and a solid community of athletes.- Kenny
I move a lot for work, and one of the first things I look for in any new location is a gym. When I moved to Old Town, a friend suggested Old Town Strength and Conditioning (formerly known by another name). I was immediately impressed. It had everything one expects from a functional fitness gym, good equipment, great workouts, fantastic coaches. But what sold me, and what I look for in any new gym, is the sense of community. I immediately felt that, even during my drop in. During spring 2020 shutdown, that sense of community came out in full force as we supported each other online and then from a socially distanced perspective once we were allowed to open. This is a great gym, and I highlight recommend it.

Go to a morning session, youre refreshed and energized for the day. Go to an evening session, you relax and unwind easily. Its a genuine, comprehensive workout every time with instructors who give you plenty of personal attention, whether there are 6 people in a class or 20. Jerry Hill and Adam Murphy are first-rate trainers. Great value with quick and palpable results. Highly recommended for anyone whos starting to feel like a slug and wants to increase stamina within weeks.
Jerry, Adam and Meesh are all great coaches. Came for a week when I was in town and the energy in the gym is upbeat and exciting. Members are all awesome and push you to do your best. Great community, great coaches with great workouts!
I visited for work from Europe and went to Crossfit Oldtown. The people are really nice, the owner and other trainers gave me their full attention. Very recommendable! Was great. If ever I will be back, I will definitely visit again.
Amazing box with great energy! I recently relocated to the Alexandria area and decided to check this place out. I met a great bunch of people and received a lot of good feedback about other boxes in the community. Very welcoming atmosphere and progressive programming.
