Ive been going to Floyds 99 for years now and Im always impressed. Most recently Tiazha at the King St location absolutely killed it on a rather intricate haircut. Im so pleased my self confidence is through the roof, shes extremely talented and adept even when faced with something new and challenging. I recommend Floyds 99 as a whole but specifically recommend booking an appointment with Tiazha!

This was not my first time here. But it was the first time I got this person that cut my hair. I showed a picture of what I wanted which was a low to mid fade and longer on top. However, what I got as a result was not anywhere close to what I wanted. The whole side of my head was buzzed off and the only fade that was done was close to my part line. As well as the whole back side of my head buzzed of leaving only a small portion of hair on the top of my head. When I get a haircut I am supposed to feel refreshed and confident in the way I look but it is just a laughing matter. Despite the great people there, I will not go back there. I suggest you do your research before you go and make sure they do what you want and not what they think is best. Additionally, I made a reservation for a shampoo as well.. I did not get that. I did not end up saying anything because it not necessarily my job.

Wanted to try this place out for the first time. Booked with someone who looked like they would know what I would want. I was going on a trip the next day. Busy work, I didn’t get the voicemail that my person canceled. When I called, they asked if I wanted another random person, I said no.This response is acceptable for super/great/walk-in clips places…. not for a boutique or luxury place. Too bad I’ll never know if the haircut would have been good.

Asked for a standard undercut, told them I wanted it even on both sides. Couldnt see what they did on account of how they combed it. Got home and checked: The entire cut was lopsided. Not even at all. The lines were jagged, not a straight line to be found. The buzzed portion was also uneven. The only way to fix it would have been to have a clown-looking mohawk, so I buzzed my head clean. Never going back, this one cut just cost me a years worth of hair.

Ive been coming here for quite some time and they always take care of their customers. Ive had a few different barbers when I first came but landed on Christopher and havent been happier. His attention to detail, listening to what I request and delivering on it have made my experience at the shop top notch. Couldnt be happier with the service he provides, along with the price the shop provides it for!

Kevin is a cool and confident dude. I went there for the first time today and had a nice experience.Be advised that if you are african american, you may want to consider going to a more...urban barber as they may be more suited to your needs. That being said -- Floyds 99 is a great place though.

The girl at the counter was very kind, but the man cutting my hair was not. He spoke badly about whomever cut my hair previously and he did not do what I specifically and repeatedly asked him to (cut my hair so it doesn’t look like it’s sprouting from the corners). Maybe it’s just this location. I’m sure the other barbers are nice, but I would be careful before going here so you don’t have a situation like mine.

I have been going to Floyds for a little over 3.5 years now and loved their service overall. Apart from the great ambiance, the staff is very helpful, talented and skillful in the craft.Alexandria has been a location I had discover a little over 2 years ago as its near my home. Gave me great relief to find out I did not have to trek to Merrifield to their other location. I would highly recommend it. I like their classic cut with Shampoo. If I want to self spoil, Ill add on a neck massage. Great people and truly a team of artists.

If you want the finest fashion mullet in town look no further folks. Fashion 👏 Precision 👏 Conversation 👏 Panache... Christopher Richardson is your man. Mullet not your thing? 90’s Bulgarian power lifter not a look you’re after? He’s got your back. Don’t think I haven’t admired the finely crafted quaffs coming off his station avant moi... With that said, I cannot recommend highly enough. Go see Christopher now!

I would 100% recommend visiting this shop and scheduling your appointment with Christopher. He’s one of the best barbers I have ever been to, hands down. You can tell he enjoys and takes pride in his work and he does it all with a friendly demeanor. My only recommendation is to schedule a standing appointment, because it’s clear other people have caught on too!

I have been coming here for almost a year, and I have nothing but excellent things to say. All of the stay are great, especially Christopher! He has cut my hair since my first appointment. Every time I go in for a cut it is a good time, he is always friendly and the conversations we have are hysterical. I always love the way my hair looks when I leave, I would give Christopher and Floyd’s 10 stars if I could!

First time at Floyds and I wanted to like this place but was incredibly disappointed. I told the person cutting my hair several times to please leave length because I was trying to grow my hair out and that I only wanted a very light trim but she shaved my hair closer than it has ever been before and left it looking strange on top. I even brought a picture of myself to show how I wanted it but got nothing like it. The staff were friendly but this may have been the worst cut Ive ever received. Now Im going to have spend more money to get it fixed and wait another few months to grow it out again.

Kevin does not know what the word trim means. Went in and told him to keep the hair off my ears and just clean the top. Ended up leaving looking like I was off to boot camp. Cannot stress enough that this place is not good. Completely frustrating.

I’ve been going to Floyd’s for six years now, with Christopher Richardson as my go-to barber for the past five. After years of pinging around to various places and different stylists/barbers, I will not let anyone else touch my hair. If Christopher isn’t available, I simply don’t get a cut until he is. I have never gotten anything but a fantastic cut from him, and it helps that he’s a truly fantastic human being, to boot. I can’t recommend Christopher highly enough — even if that might make it harder for me to get an appointment!

MacKenzie is the best barber I’ve had in a long time. She listens and learns your hair rather than just doing the same thing every time regardless of it accentuates your strengths or highlights bald spots. She helped me realize that my hair would look much better with a high skin fade and she was right! She’s very meticulous with a lot of attention to detail. Thanks!

Ive been coming to Floyds on King St once a month for over 5 years. The staff is professional, listens to your needs, and appointments are always on time. Ive changed my style 3-4 times over the past 5 years and the staff is always available to discuss changes and how a style might look. Would recommend!

First off, they are VERY COVID compliant and I felt totally safe.I have wavy Mediterranean hair that nobody gets right. I usually end up with a buzz cut even though I want it longer. I was recommended Chris, so listened and got it just right. Thanks!

Needed a trim, called for an appointment, my barber was Won, outstanding haircut, very attentive. I asked for the minimal amount off the sides and nothing of the top. Walked out of there Happy, thanks Won.

My husband and kids have gone to Floyd’s multiple times and have generally had a great experience. This time I am a bit frustrated. They require masks (which we agree with and are happy to comply with). However, we had our 2 year old scheduled for a cut today. If you have a toddler, you know that getting them to keep a mask on is pretty much impossible. So the day before his appointment I spoke with a staff member and asked if he would be able to still have his hair cut if he wouldn’t keep the mask on. She said it would be okay. So I had my husband take our son and once he sat in the chair and our son wouldn’t keep his mask on, they (politely) refused the service. If my son didn’t have his quarantine hair hanging in his eyeballs, I wouldn’t have even attempted to take him out for a cut. Other stores do not require masks for small children (understanding that it won’t work). If Floyd’s will not allow small children to be exempt, perhaps consider not allowing them to be scheduled to start with.

I have been going to Floyds for a year now and Annie cuts my hair. Awesome experience every time and great cut at a very fair price. Highly recommend Floyds and Annie.

I come here almost every month to get a haircut/shape up. The staff is friendly there is a variety of services that they offer at affordable prices. It just depends on what you want, Ive never had an issue with customer service and they do the best to make sure your satisfied when you leave.

Scheduled an appointment online for a Floyds Cut. Wasnt expecting it to be great, but it was much better than your average haircut place. The guy who cut my hair (believe his name was Morgan) took extra time to make sure everything blended well. Plus, for D.C. pricing, it was still pretty affordable. Ill probably be going back here for my next cut as well.

First time customer, did a walk in with no appointment, and I will never go any where else. I am low maintenance I got a buzz cut and they threw in a free hair wash after. The cut was good the hair dresser took her time even with a buzz cut (Ive been in and out with in 5 min at some other places she took her time made it an experience). Then I got an amazing hair wash. Best service I have received in NOVA.

Went in with fairly long hair, top of head and bangs around 6-8 inches. Asked for #2 around the ears, 1/2-3/4 off the top, sides tapered and bangs around 1/4-1/2 down forehead when hanging wet. Got #2 around ears and a #4 buzzcut on top with no tapering. Not all of their barber/hairstylists are bad, but enough are that you need to either face the mirror throughout or show a picture of the exact haircut you want. If you dont care about a bad cut for a high price its worth it, if you are getting a haircut for an event/anything that you want to look good for go 2 months early so that your hair can regrow enough to look good by the time of the event.

I recently got my hair straightened and trimmed by Kierra and I have to say I was beyond impressed with the results! She was very kind and made sure to consult me on how I can keep my hair healthy in the future based on my specific hair type. This was my first time getting my hair done by Kierra but am looking forward to working with her in the future to maintain my hair! :)

Floyd is my go to barbershop, they have great customer service, and the quality of stylists and barbers they have is amazing. My favorite barber is Chris and he never disappoints. I always get an undercut and he always makes my haircuts better than what I imagined. I recommend this place to anyone, the price is reasonable for their service.

I love this place. I ended up getting Emily. The receptionist was very friendly. The place has music and has very comfortable environment.There are not many hair stylist that pay close attention to my hair. Emily made sure she knew what she was dealing with. My hair goes 1234 different directions. Most people just buzz it through and push me out of the chair. Emily worth with my crazy hair and tamed the the beast . That was the best haircut Ive gotten in years. Ive only had 4 perfect cuts in my life. This was one of them. She even helped me style my hair which I was having issues with. She was very knowledgeable and friendly! Definitely coming back.Im Vietnamese and African American. So I have thin wavy hair.

I went to my last barber for 5 years and was nervous about finding a new one. I called the front desk to ask for a recommendation for a pixie cut and they booked me with Tara. She was fantastic! She made sure to understand what I wanted and checked in a few times. I even got a surprise neck shave (since the bottom of my cut was buzzed) that made my day. Great experience.

I first walked in towards the end of the evening. It looked slow, I was told the wait could be 45min - 1 hr but it went by quicker than that. I was greeted by Devon T. Who explained to me the style of cut I was looking for. I couldn’t have been more pleased with his thorough work on my hair. Devon went through my cut meticulously until it was done. He said he had a passion for it and it showed. I will make an appointment with him again. They offer military discount as well.

Great barbershop. Atmosphere is modern and fun. The stylist (Taylor) that took care of me was thorough, precise, and open to feedback. I have had nothing but terrible haircuts since I moved to this area and now I have finally found my go-to barbershop.

My hubby goes here to gets his haircuts and we have made mistakes going elsewhere when Floyds is completely booked. They do an amazing job and quickly as well. Its a simple in and out. They are very trendy with their art AND THEIR BLOW-DRYERS HANG FROM THE CIELING I thought that was pretty dope. Nice stylists as well. Super friendly receptionist.

I made an appointment at Floyd’s for 530. I was first told my apt was with Gina. At the end of the call I was told I would see the first available barber. I arrived 10 minutes early and the host told me I was early and they were running behind (totally understandable). At 530 a chair opened up and someone was seated in front of me, but they were there before I was. At 540 three different chairs opened up and they were all seated by people who arrived after I did. At which point I stood up and told the host thank you but I am leaving, to which she responded you’re welcome have a nice day leading me to believe she had no clue that I did not even receive a hair cut.

Floyds 99 offers a fun Pop and Rock themed decor coupled with support for the tattooed barbers of the world. Most Ive visited turn over their staff rather frequently which can make it difficult to return to a stylist you like.There are barbers and stylists. The difference I see is that the stylists chiefly do hair while licensed barbers are able to provide a traditional straight razor shave.In general Ive been pleased with their ability to provide more contemporary cuts but consistency varies greatly from visit to visit.

Disappointed. Good customer service at the front desk but no knowledge from the stylist. I went there to get my beard trimmed so I asked the receptionist if there was someone that knew how to do it, she said no but the stylist by her side said that she knew how to. So I said ok. I showed the the picture of what I wanted and explained what I wanted . I let her work I end up going to get some shape to my beard and end up with one inch of hair on my cheeks and 3 inches of goatee not what I wanted and to top it not even faded. Thank God is was only 6$. I could do a better job. I understand that the stylists have to make money but if you don’t know or specialize on that you shouldn’t do it just to make money. The two stars are for the receptionist politeness and honesty.

Devon is the best!!!!! This establishment should be grateful to have such a great barber! He spends quality time trying to make the client feel at home and give the best possible haircut!! Couldn’t ask for a better experience! 👍👍👍👍

Tara M is an excellent barber

Chris is the man. An excellent barber/stylist who always manages to make me attractive enough to get my wife in the mood just at the very sight of me. Without Chris, I would be living in a world of hair mediocrity. Not only is he skilled with sharp objects, but he also is an excellent conversationalist who is sure to always fill your haircut experience with interesting and enjoyable banter. If you choose a different man as your barber or stylist, you are ruining your own life and you will never find love.

I like this barbershop for the diversity of the staff. And Morgan, Tara, and Sarah V are the only ones who get to touch my beard. They are artists and meticulous .

This place is amazing! Id give it 5 stars but they are very expensive for a normal mens cut. $26 is almost twice the price of everywhere else. But i would and probably will return if Im ever in the area again.

This place is nothing but a SCAM. Ive gone here several times--just because its a convenient location for me--and each time my hair has been absolutely BUTCHERED. I tried different stylists here, hoping for someone decent, each one was worse than the other. Its going to take me at least 2 months to regrow my hair out from the last hack job I received from this place. She didnt even bother to ask me if I liked it or wanted it styled. She just rushed me out the door and stared at the screen when it was time for me to pay expecting a tip. I couldve gotten my hair murdered at Supercuts instead for 1/3 the price!!

Its a pretty chill place, which I love. I feel like every time I go there they give me a good cut for the price. I loved Andrea because she and I would always collaborate on what kind of cut to do and I always felt like she would listen to what I wanted while also telling me what would and wouldnt work for my hair, which is hard to find, but she left.

I didnt know they did womens hair until my boyfriend suggested I try them for my next cut. So glad I did! Taylre gave me a perfect cut and some awesome styling tips! Will definitely be back! Also love the rock n roll atmosphere. Feels like youre in a record shop.

The staff is friendly and does a good job for the most part. Just nothing above and beyond, but its a pretty good place. Did have one hack-job here that was absolutely horrible. But the other times I have been fairly pleased.

This was by far one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever had. I set up an apt ahead of time for 7:15 and wasnt helped until 8 all the while 3 employees were standing around doing nothing. At the end of my haircut I watched them turn down an individual who had been waiting over an hour because they were about to close. The manager watched this happen, heard the customers frustration, and didnt have a single care in the world or anything to say. Absolutely no respect for individuals time.

Never gotten a bad haircut here and Ive seen three different stylists! If you need a trim (especially if you are a guy with a beard) this is the place to get it!

First using a straight blade on a child probably isn’t a good idea especially if it results in scars being left on my kids neck. Secondly the owner of this shop should consider a mint jar for his/her employees, so many times the barber forgets to brush or “mint up” after lunch. Lastly if the barber isn’t comfortable or proficient in cutting a type of hair then... SAY SO!!!

I popped in this evening and was immediately assisted by Denise. I explained that I was unsure what to do with my hair and beard so I gave her total creative control. She knocked it out of the park. She seemed to be new in her role but we were beside a lovely gentleman named Chris that was happy to offer advice and tips. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire experience. I cannot wait to stop back in and see what Denise wants to do next.

Im not sure whether it was a long day for the staff or just the common air for the shop but it was not very inviting. I went in as a walk-in and had a longer than usual wait due to the stylist needing girl talk. For the duration of the cut she (Kristin H.) would end any attempts for conversation and sped through my cut like a race. No wet shave on the back hairline, warm towel, and wanted me to buy the hair cream I asked for at the end of my cut. Left feeling like I could have gotten a better cut at a $13 buck barber instead of the $24 charged here.Maybe there are good barbers there but I did not receive one.

I cant recall the name of the woman who cut my hair but she was African American and had long hair. The haircut I received was very poor. It was visibly lopsided in the front and back, and had many missed spots. I will not be going back to this location and will be going to another barber tomorrow morning to fix it.

My friend made a 5:45 pm appointment waited until 6:2.a guy walked in and immediately was seen before him. The place was mostly empty. I would say they were racist, but idk I would say they are pretty and have poor business/ customer service.

I wouldnt come there again. Had an appointment set with someone specific. She didnt show up, so I ended up with someone random and hated my hair afterwards. No blending, fade, style or anything great. Never returned again.

Wasnt busy at all but They hurried my cut. Had to remind the girl cutting my hair to cut the top of my head. She was ready to send me home. Had to go over my entire beard and mustache when when I got home since she acted since she just did certain spots. Had to shave also. I left them feeling like I didnt even get a hair cut.

I cant say that Ill ever be going back after having paid 20+ for my hair to be tapered. I didnt even get a cut. The stylist was friendly...but I had to remind her to skin taper my edges and straight razor them. Thats a given when all youre going in for is your edges done. I was quoted $6-$8. I didnt get my hair trimmed or anything. Just the edges. When I go to pay, the stylist says I took some extra off the back so its a full fade. I get charged for a cut. I get home and realize she didnt even skin taper the back. Not only did I receive a half job done....I paid 4x the cost for it.

I started going here for cuts and color a couple of years ago and really enjoy the service. I recently have been getting fun colors by Kierra. She does great work and I highly recommend her for amazing cuts and color. This place may be a barbershop but its for females as well. I have seen a variety of women with different lengths of hair getting cuts and color. I will add that my husband also gets his haircut by Kierra and she gives him the best cuts. I would say this is a great place for men and women to get a quality haircut and color service.

Good place, but you get sub-par treatment if you dont have an appointment. You just sit there while other barbers stand around with no customers. No one takes proactive measures to see if they can help you. Wish I had known this before bringing my 5 year old!

Im giving 2 stars because I got a great haircut and beard trim with no appointment. I walked in at 630 and was told I would have to wait until 730. Indodnt have time. Annie was cleaning up to leave. I asked her if shed stay if I gave her a $20 tip which i know is above the norm, at the least. She unpacked and agreed. I decided to tip her $40 since she stayed late and did a good job. $40 tip for a $24 haircut. She informed me that I was very rude to have asked her to stay. That was her parting words. Not thanks, not see you next time. I knew what i was doing was buying someones time. I work in customer service and help people after hours all of the time with no compensation. She couldve said no, easily. Ive supported this place and referred people for quite some time but this did not make me want to return.

Carolinas customer service was off the charts and she did exactly what I asked her to do with my mohawk! Super fabulous and professional staff and they arent afraid to make you feel welcome and at home!

I had my last bad haircut from Floyd’s. This time, again, the haircutter lacked professional barbering skills and haircutting technique. Floyd’s cuts have been hit or miss. And lately only misses. I’m done because, once again, the stylist could not meet my basic style requests and my haircut came out uneven and much shorter than requested.I should’ve known she had substandard skills when she offered, “maybe you just want to have a trim” instead of offering more confidence. She worked slowly, taking over 45 minutes for the cut. No shampoo, no extra services, just slow and unskilled work.I certainly wouldn’t recommend Floyd’s to anyone and I won’t go back. Too bad, I had been frequenting Floyd’s shops off and on since they first opened in Denver. Each new place they open only dilutes their ability to hire good hair stylists.What compels a barber shop to put subpar workers on the floor anytime? I’d suggest the owners and managers consider the standards of Floyd’s if, as they say in their feedback form they want to “continue to learn and grow as a business.” Perhaps by testing, oversight and training for haircutters, they might retain more loyal customers without all the coupons and incentives. Are they just hiring contractors? If so, it’s very hard to maintain a high standard.

Had my beard trimmed at this new location for Floyds 99. Great environment and service. Made an appointment the day before and walked in and they were ready for me. Try to name all of the musicians on the wall.
