This is the only haircut place Ive been to since moving to Alexandria, but I havent wanted to go anywhere else because the three haircuts I had have been fantastic. I never realized that my hair, which is thin, light, fluffy, wavy, and wants to be crazy, needs to be cut longer on the top and more deliberately. If it is cut too short then when it grows it will grow at different speeds, causing it to grow wild. Kim understood this and blended the sides perfectly with the top, which she used scissors and a flat razor to clean up the wild hairs on the very top part. Although I dont get it cut as short as I used to, I still do not need to worry about it that often. She always offers to shave the back part in the bottom if needed, and does a good job cleaning up the front and around the ears. She recognizes that each person has a unique hairline that requires a different style haircut to avoid issues down the road.The price is very reasonable ($25) for the area. Most places charge at least $30 and often upwards of $50, which doesnt make sense for people like me who dont take as much time. Kim is very friendly and remembers me every time. It is a small place, so she prefers cash and you must call for an appointment rather than book on a website. The location is convenient because it is right on the corner of King and Patrick, so for me I can walk easily.

Kim did a superb job on my haircut and highlight. I havent had my hair highlighted in years but decided to treat myself. Kim spent a lot of time with me to make sure that the color was exactly what I wanted. Some places will do whats fastest for them, to get you out and move on to the next customer. Not Kim. The price was also reasonable. My spouse, friends, and family have all commented on how great my hair looked and asked me where I had it done. Thank you, Kim!

Its been about a year (maybe more) since my last professional haircut and having just completed my second dose of the vaccine I was ready to do away with the wild shaggy mess on my head. While I was not dissatisfied with my previous haircut location, I was definitely looking for a place that would be more consistent and just better. Wow did I find it here with Kim.She was unbelievably kind and made it clear that she really cared about my haircut and making it look good. This might sound strange, it did to me typing it, but thats because I had become accustomed to cutters who were looking to get me in an out asap and while they were not necessarily uncaring, they certainly do not come close with the attentiveness provided by Supreme.All of this is to say that you will not be sorry you came here.Also quick note, go by their hours listed on google not on their website (they are currently closed Mondays and open Tuesdays).

Kim is an amazingly friendly and talented barber and hair stylist. She knows how to cut my hair better than any barber ever has! It’s truly a pleasure going to get my haircut by her every few weeks. I won’t be going anywhere else for my haircut :)

Kim is one of the good ones, yall. Not only is she incredibly kind, but shes the most skilled stylist Ive ever been to! I had a particularly horrible experience at my last barber, and was a little nervous going into this appointment. But Kims professional skill and friendly demeanor made that all go away. Ill definitely be coming back!

Switched to this salon about a year ago and havent looked back... Kim is amazingly detailed, attentive and patient. First time I feel like Im getting a professional haircut and not just the regular mens cut. On top of that, Kim is just a really nice and kind person :)

I got my dead ends trimmed here, only the dead ends. 1 1/2 inch of hair cut, no shampoo or anything else, and it cost me $40. Absolutely overpriced. Mrs. Kim was nice and courteous and when she asked “is that price okay?” (AFTER I had already received the haircut) and I told her my thoughts, offered me a “$5 discount since I was young”. The $5 ended up going to her tip anyway since she was very nice. There was not any type of sign stating prices for haircuts or anything around for you to look at either. I will not be going here again.

Kim is perhaps the best barber/stylist that I have ever used. She carefully customizes each hair cut for the individual person. She works diligently to provide the perfect hair cut every time. Kim is a fantastic barber who is very knowledgeable about cutting different types of hair. Friendly and professional atmosphere; they remember your cut after just a few visits. Finishes off with a straight razor neck shave which is really nice. Prices are very reasonable, especially for Old Town. Highly recommend!

Did not listen to what I asked. Cut my hair in a different style because as she stated this the style, it look better. Had to cut all of my hair off because haircut was not allowed in military. I WILL NEVER COME BACK!!!

Got a haircut here yesterday and it was the first time I can remember that I walked out of there and already liked my haircut. It seems I always have to wait a week or two before I think my hair looks good but not with Kim. A wizard with the clippers and a very nice lady, as well.

My husband and I have been going to TLC Salon for almost a year now. I see Phillip for highlights a cut (photo attached!) and he has his hair done every four weeks by Nancy. The care and the attention we receive every time we walk through that door, makes us love our salon visits. The way we look when we walk out that same door makes us feel like a million bucks!

I have had great experiences at this place. I have curly hair which usually is hard to find a barber that can style it appropriately and here they do! I highly recommend it!

BAD experience!!!!!!! Ive visited this salon on multiple occasions, but on my last visit last year i got Japanese straightening with Nancy, Awful service. I got terrible result, she destroyed my hair. I was very sad, she didn’t apologize when I called to explain that I was disatisfied the attitude I recieved from her was unprofessional .her husband gave me a refund but 15 months later I am still cutting my hair damaged by Nancy. Ive spent a lot of money trying to repair my hair. Terrible!!!! Be aware.

Got a great haircut here - at an affordable price! The girl styled it horribly (curled), so initially I was concerned -- but once I washed it, I was so impressed, it looks good with very little effort. Recommend getting your haircut here! (My hair is straight / a bit wavy/ fine, Im a Caucasian female)

Nancy is gone... tried having these new folks give me a haircut and will never go back. Doesnt seem like they are even certified to cut hair.

The owner Young is great, best hair cut and razor shave on neck ever for the price. She wants to please and is detailed oriented, single blade razor for neck, trim eyebrows and exact hair cut. Appointments are necessary and if you have to wait a few minutes, well worth it. I have been going to her since 2009 and could not imagine getting my hair cut anywhere else.The owner Young sold the business to a new owner. She is now located in Fairfax at Young’s Main Hair Salon.

Wasn’t too happy with the fade. Didn’t use a size and free handed clippers all around which I ended up having uneven hair all around. The service is friendly though as I might’ve just have gotten a bad barber.

Ive gotten good hair cuts here (been twice now). I feel that no stylist is going to knock it out of the park on the first couple of cuts because they are leaning your style but Ive been happy with both of my cuts. They listen and take direction well. Im going back for sure.

I had a long time stylist who just knew how to get it right.In my desperate pursuit of a qualified stylist I visited over 9 highly reviewed places, including one Posh place who charged me an arm and a leg to turn my hair orange, when it was suppose to be black! True Story!!!! I am a TLC customer for life! I showed Nancy some picts of my hair and she just nailed it!Oh yeah, and the price was reasonable!!!!!!!! She also does an old school straight razor shave on the back of the neck that leaves my skin so smooth!!!!!!!! Its awesome!!!!!!!!

Im usually the type of person who doesnt know exactly what they want done with their hair so my usual reaction is either eh, its okay or ugh, hate it. However, with the cut and blow dry i absolutely LOVE how it turned out!! The only bad thing is that now I have to learn how to style my hair so I can replicate the beautiful layers and feathery bounce

Ive been going to Young for a few years now, shes great. She always makes me look good, and shes friendly and sweet. She takes good care of me.

Tried it three times. First ok. Second ok, but not really pleased. Third time Young refused to listen to what I wanted-she basically told me to shut up and I just cut hair. Note, I have an extremely basic hair style, nothing complicated. A walk in arrived and I could tell Young started to really rush to finish up my haircut-in hindsight, explains why the resulting haircut seemed half finished. Had to go to another barber shop the next day to get haircut fixed because it was so uneven/lopsided. Before I said anything, the barber at second shop laughed at it. I told him I just got it cut the day prior and he gasped, No way you got that here! I assured him I did not. Think that says it all.
