Got a haircut today. Based on the reviews and photos I was expecting a decent fade. When I called and asked about making an appointment with Tom (mentioned in other reviews) the lady had no idea who I was talking about, that should have been my red flag. The man who cut my hair asked me what I would like and I said a low fade and an inch off the top. He simply mumbled okay and seemingly didn’t understand what I said at all (spoke limited English, but again from the good reviews I gave him a chance). I ended up with what looks like a 2 all around, literally doesn’t look like a fade in the slightest, plus what looks like a bald spot on my right side from certain angles. I don’t know what the reviews are talking about that mention fades but this is not the place. So I don’t know if other reviews are fake or what. Now to look for a barber than can hopefully fix this mess.

I moved to Old Town a couple of years ago and had been loyal to my barber for approximately 15 years. The shop where she worked was about a 40 minute drive each way for me and ultimately became too much of an investment of my time. After careful consideration, I walked into Old Town Barber Shop and I sat down in Ms. Youngs chair. I was very happy that the results were perfect in terms of what I had always expected from my previous barber. Ms. Young gave me the exact hair cut I asked her for!. It has been the same experience every time: A precision cut, a friendly atmosphere and and done in much less time than I was accustomed to previously! 5 stars!

LGBTQ+ friendly barbershop!!The ladies that helped us were an absolute delight. They were helpful with picking out a style for my girlfriend, finding the perfect cut and executing it. Prices were good, the barber was quick and precise. Definitely would recommend giving this little shop a chance. Clean outside of the store and inside, polite employees, seating for those who have to wait, and comfortable temp inside. Even if youre like me, just passing through town, give Old Town Barber Shop a visit for a quick cut and style - you wont be disappointed!

I got my haircut at this barbershop a few days ago. The haircut by the gentlemen/stylist was great! I was not happy or comfortable with construction going on next to me. Thanks to my barber who told them to stop cause I felt it is definitely not safe while clients are getting their haircut in the shop! Also, there was hair everywhere on the floor and other stylists did not care to clean up their mess from previous haircuts.

I stopped by this shop to get my hair cut but I was not happy with the service this time. I have been here three times before and I used to get my hair trimmed by the two guys barber, Tom and his friend. They are very personable, out going and excellent customer interaction. They always give me the best haircut! I should have called to make an appointment to make sure they are available to take care of my hair next time

Ms. Young was incredible, you can truly tell she has a passion for what she does. Shes very thorough, and when you ask her about certain styles you may want, she honest if it will work with your hair type. Shes a delight to have conversation with, Im glad to have found a Barber Shop I can call home ! The entire staff is very friendly, I hope to build friendships with each and everyone of them. As I would enjoy seeing each of their creative sides !

When I moved here from Queens, it was a struggle to find the same quality and value from a barber or stylist. Someone recommended I try this place and Ive been coming for six years. Even though I moved into Arlington, I still make a point to come here for my cuts and styles and recommend to anyone looking for a great barber.

My husband schedule an appointment at this shop and I must say that we were highly impressed! The services were exemplar, the shop was extremely clean and all COVID mitigation strategies were executed. His fade was very well done and he will definitely return.

I went in and requested my hair get washed first. That was cool. I wanted a skin fade on the side and come over on the top. Skin fade was way too high and there’s not much to come over. Even more disappointing was I requested the shave and I just got home and need to shave. I humbly tipped even though. But I won’t return.

We found this place randomly walking in Old town few months ago and ever since then my boyfriend has become a regular customer and comes in every 4 weeks for the haircut by, who I believe is, the owner. He used to go to a shop in Potomac for the past several years and decided to switch to Old Town barber shop after getting his first haircut from there. He likes how efficient the service is be the result look amazing and most importantly consistent every visit! Highly recommend this place!

My husband and I live in Arlington, VA and we dont mind the drive to Alexandria to get out hair cut. We moved down here over 8yrs and 5 months ago. It took almost 8yrs to find someone who met our elevated expectations. The staff are professional and treat you like family! They even made an effort to say hi to our puppy who was waiting in our car! The barbers/stylists are highly skilled and their attention to details is spot on! They are efficient and make you feel like youre in a spa! When theyre done cutting your hair, you get a scalp and neck massage. Old Town Barber Shop is the only barber I go to now. Young always does an amazing job with the many different requests I have when it comes to my haircut. She always takes her time and makes sure my hair is cut the exact way I like. My hair is very thick and straight, but she has no issue with my difficult hair. I went in with my dad and we were both surprised at the great service they provided and the quality cut. They had four workers last weekend when we went in, including the new polite and skilled owner, so there was not a long wait. We paid with our credit card and tipped her $5. We left being extremely satisfied and will definitely be coming back! This place is the best one in the area and you wont regret your choice if you choose this place for a cut!

I have been coming here a few times a year for the last 7 years. Usually they are fairly quick, though you have a 50/50 shot of getting a decent haircut, depending on the person you draw (the older man is the best). However, they failed to open on time today and pretended not to understand English when I asked them why; this is very unprofessional and wasted my time, so Im not going back.

Ive been going here for about 4 years now. The staff does a very thorough job on your hair making sure to get the job done right. Ive tried almost every barber in the shop at one point or another, some are better than others. Ultimately i come back because they can give a straight forward haircut at a decent price.
