WHile the Service was done to perfection, someone really screwed up on the timing, badly. Being an insomniac I requested and received a promised time of arrival during the 1PM-7PM Window. So two hours after I am able to fall asleep, namely from 5 AM to 7:45 AM I get a PHONE CALL AT &;46 AM telling me the HVAC maintenance man is on his way! I double check the email validating the time, and it says 1-7PM. Then when I fall asleep again, after another 2 hours of trying, I get an ADDITIONAL CALL at NOON, 1 hour prior to the scheduled visit. Its the Maintenance man telling me he is at my front door! This is no big deal for someone without insomnia, but there are those in our latter years where sleep is important and getting 3 hours a night is not advisable! So good service lousy timing!

I would tick repair dryer, except they did not repair it. I continue to have the same problem, which is a strong odor of gas emanating from the dryer making all my clothes and bed linens smell. The repairman said there was nothing wrong with the dryer and the air circulation was fine. Does anyone have any idea what it could be?

It took from March until September to get our dryer repaired. This involved a dozen actual or missed visits, several wrong parts ordered by technicians, one part shipped to my house that was obviously used and cracked, etc. No matter what Kenmore number I called, I was never able to talk to someone not working in a call center with any authority to take some action. Once we got the right part ( a second one since the first was the broken one,) it took several scheduled visits to install it. First guy had orders to repair my washer so he couldnt work on my dryer. The second one had orders to charge me for a warranty visit. The third never showed up and sent a message that there was no one home and he was sorry he missed me (not true.). The next scheduled visit kept getting delayed from 1-5PM to 6:20 then 7:30 and then a message that I had been rescheduled ten days later. Finally on the fifth visit once we had the right part, a technician showed up and installed the right part. However, the next day we discovered he had disconnected or dislodged the dryer vent so the warm air as venting in my basement. Clearly the worst service experience of my life.

Unfortunately this is a very bad review (posted with the hope it may help someone else in the process of deciding whether using this service). I called them and scheduled a service call to repair my 6 yr old Kenmore Elite refrigerator that had stopped cooling. I received numerous emails and texts confirming the service day and time. Took off from work the day of the scheduled repair and waited for the tech who never showed up!. I called them and they scheduled another service appointment. Took off again from work and waited for the tech who again never showed up despite the multiple emails and texts I received confirming the service call. Called the dispatch again inquiring about the missed appointment and I was told someone will be calling me back. Waited for a day; no one did. This is now 30 days after the initial request for service. Extremely non-responsive service! Be aware!

We are in a rental house and this was the company we agreed upon with our landlord to use to clean the fridge and fix the washing machine.Sears responded quickly, appointments were very easy to schedule and all the maintenance people who came to the house were very friendly and respectful (wearing proper masks and booties for Covid). I thought the price was a bit much especially because they only cleaned the fridge and sent 3 people out for simple jobs. The man who fixed the washer was very nice and quick but he left trash everywhere which I wouldnt have minded if he said something and a little water on the floor.I recommend the company and would use them again if chosen by my landlord.

Im hoping it stays on this track. But I want to wait for another week of use before I say that the repair was wonderful. The help I received online to set up the appointment was terrific and the repair man that came to my home was timely and polite. And hopefully did a great job.

Sears home services is an all around failure. Sears had a good name but no more. It took them over two months and over 15 calls for them to replace a washer that is under warranty. Only by contacting by email the CEO and similar upper management was I able to acquire someones attention who was competent to handle this issue that lasted over two months. Two months of stalling, repeated calls, and avoiding replacement. When the replacement was finally ordered Sears did not want to pay for the optional stacking kit that was originally designed for the unit. Dont buy any warranty services from Sears. They are a failing company and Transformco who handles their home services is horrible as well.

Do yourself a favor and avoid Sears appliance repair like the Coronavirus. Terrible customer service- I called a day ahead to reschedule a dryer repair appointment for the afternoon of the next day, as I had to work during the morning. Customer service never informed the technician (Abdul R.) of the schedule change; he came at the originally scheduled time, during the morning. When I told Abdul via text message that he should have been informed by customer service that the time had been rescheduled for the afternoon, he refused to come back that day, saying he had too many appointments. He wouldnt answer his phone or messages. I then called customer service to reschedule for a different day and specifically told them not to send Abdul, as he was unresponsive and difficult. They said they would make a note in their system to send a different technician. Flash forward to today, guess who calls to say he is scheduled to come do the repair- thats right, Abdul. I told him not to bother. I then called Sears several times to try to reschedule at a time when another technician could do the repair, but kept getting transferred from one department to another. No one was able to reschedule, and I was told to wait until Monday to call the warranty department, which was closed on weekends. I ended up canceling the request with Sears altogether and called a different company (DAR), who was able to schedule me for Monday- done in one 5 minute call. Much simpler. Avoid Sears, unless you like headaches and being transferred to multiple departments for something as simple as a dryer repair appointment.

Routine maintenance was performed on washer/dryer, satisfactorily. However, the scheduling process is flawed. The maintenance appointment was made for 2 Sep. Sears followed up with several emails confirming the appointment for 2 Sep. The serviceperson showed up 5 days EARLY to perform the scheduled maintenance - on 28 Jan! Fortunately we were home, but we were on a business call via video conferencing. Certainly not the best time for the serviceperson to show up to perform maintenance. After the serviceperson left, I called Sears to find out what happened to the Sep 2 appointment and why did the serviceperson show up 5 days early. I was transferred 3 times, put on hold, and after waiting 20 minutes, I hung up, frustrated. Days afterward, we continued to receive Sears email reminders of the upcoming Sep 2 appointment - even though the service was already completed. Since I could not reach Sears to discuss the issue, we do not know what caused the scheduling mix up and why the lack of communication between Sears and their subcontractor.

This was a warranty repair on a LG-made Kenmore Elite refrigerator. We called for an appointment July 2. First available appointment was July 13 (11 days). Then parts had to be ordered and THEN a new appointment scheduled. July 28 was the first available repair date. The repair guy was great, timely, clean, coronavirus-careful, and all that. My problem is that the independent repair places, that arent allowed to make warranty repairs for Sears or LG, couldve done the repair the next day. Instead, we were without a refrigerator for 26 DAYS while we waited on Sears!

Reported broken cook top on Kenmore range under full extended warranty. Sears scheduled a repair tech and ordered replacement part. Tech arrived for repair appointment - no part arrived. Part ordered was a replacement warming oven drawer, not cook top. Tech ordered correct part and scheduled new repair appointment 3 weeks later. Part never arrived, tech appointment cancelled. Called Sears Home Services, part is on back order, no status on when it would be available. Spoke to 6 Sears representatives, none could help. Only solution offered is to apply to get a complete new range installed via warranty agreement benefit >>> how about just give me the cook top replacement part off the new range you are offering me?!? Nope.

The Sears Dishwasher Repairman, Tony, was professional, honest, and down to earth. It did take him some time to diagnose the problem. But once he did, he knew exactly what parts he needed to order. My husband and I felt comfortable having him in our home. It was like we had known him for many years. The parts he ordered arrived in a week and half in good condition. A few days later, a Sears representative called us to follow up. I made appointments for installation through her. But, I did have to call back to reschedule, which was easy to do. Then, Tony came back and fixed our dishwasher. Not only did he fix it, but he taught us how to properly take care of our dishwasher to last for many years to come. Well, where to start: they showed up an hour after the window they were scheduled for. Then, when the guy finally did show up and saw it was a stacked washer/dryer unit he told us a) he didnt know it was stacked (which would mean someone did not read out maintenance request in which chose the option that says we have a Stacked washer/dryer and b) that theyre not allowed to pull them out - probably a liability issue - and that that is on us for them to get access to the back. Would have been nice to know that before he got there. He couldnt find anything wrong w/ out washer which was leaking somewhere/somehow. In the end he left after charging us the $89 for just showing up. A waste of time and money. So be advised if you have a stacked unit: they wont pull it out, thats your job.

This was the worse that Sears can offer. First, my technician didnt arrive at the appointed time. I had to call to find out what the issue was before I was told that it would be around 3:30pm before he would get to my house; when my scheduled appointment was between 10am to 2pm. I lost valuable vacation time from work. Unacceptable. Then the technician needed a tool that he didnt have and had to leave my house to go back to get it. That was another hour away. Once he came back he then realized that the part that was previously ordered was not the right part and an another part had to be re-ordered. Who knows if that is the correct one at this point. I was informed that someone would have to come back on another appointment. We set that appointment up for a Saturday, but then I get my confirmation that the appointment was set up for a Friday. What is going on? Is this how Sears is conducting business now? I have been a loyal customer of Sears for years, but maybe it may be time to re-think this relationship.

Once we navigated the voicemail maze to schedule the work everything went fairly smoothly. My only criticism is the wait for the initial diagnostic visit (even though I explained the necessary parts to the call-taker) and the wait for the technician to return to make the repairs. (Not the technicians fault; the company needs more technicians.) Oh, and the eight-hour scheduling window with no updates. These are the only reasons this isnt a 5-star review.Kevin was great. He ordered the parts for the refrigerator while he was at the house and they arrived promptly the following week. He got to us as early as he could on the follow-up visit and was here two hours making sure that everything was done right (and unplugging the defrost drain tube that had started overflowing in the time between visits.) Hes polite, personable, and knows his stuff. I cant say enough good things about him.If Sears could simplify the voicemail system, hire some more techs to cut down on wait time, and do something about the scheduling window, theyd get five stars.

While my review of the actual service was 5 star worthy, the people on the phone, and the people who make the decisions are not 5 star worthy. Since this is the only place I can vent my frustrations, I gave the 5 star rating based on the technicians service, but the price was not worth it. I purchased my appliance last year, during their Labor Day sale. I got a great deal on a dishwasher, range, and refrigerator. All I needed was a dishwasher, (as mine was starting to leak). A new refrigerator was a bonus, I had one that functioned fine, but the ice maker was broken. I was able to update my range top to a glass, and I had already upgraded my microwave, so this gave me ALL brand new appliances. The reason I had this service call was because a piece kept popping off the top rack. It was a little plastic piece that both my wife and I kept having to reattach every time we ran the dishwasher. I called in the line hoping that someone on the phone could assist me with what I might have been doing wrong. I couldnt figured it out. I would re-attached it and hear a click, but after I ran the dishwasher, and pulled out the top rack, it would pop off. The people on the phone didnt have a clue, and suggested I make an appointment with one of their techs. I went online and scheduled an appointment. They had one available the following day, so i scheduled it. They came, earlier than expected, and took MAYBE 5 minutes to assess, and correct the problem. Apparently there was a little tab that I had to depress to get it to stay in place. For this service, they were going to charge me in excess of $ 200.00. Keep in mind that I KNEW a $ 99 diagnostic fee applied, but for a fix that someone applied in less than 5 minutes and could have instructed me on how to perform the repair over the phone, I find that offensive. The technician did what they were instructed to do and sold me an appliance warranty program, and was able to knock the bill down to 50% of what it was going to be, but Ill be paying about $50/month for the warranty for a year. I would think that when you spend the kind of money you spend on appliances, your techs on the phone could be slightly more knowledgeable than referring your customer who call in, to a tech. Im disappointed in Sears, and might be looking to upgrade at a different store in the near future.

Our washing machine signaled an error -- ND or No Drain.A Sears repairman was called. The first sign of a potential problem was that he showed up (apparently) without the proper equipment. He asked me for a bucket, then later asked me for another kind of bucket, something flatter. I couldnt help but gently ask: Did you bring your own tools? He took the machine apart, cleaned out the drain apparatus, and started to put the machine back together.During this process, he repeatedly accused my wife and I of putting heavy rugs in the machine. We didnt even know you could put a rug in a washing machine. My wife is quite finicky about the clothes that go into the machine. When he turned the machine back on, the drum unit was out of alignment and making enough rattling, squeaking and banging to wake up the entire neighborhood. The drum wasnt out of alignment before your repairman showed up. The machine hadnt rattled, squeaked, banged, or made any such noise prior to the moment that he restarted it.The once quiet operation was what we liked about the machine. The drum now slides back and forth when you touch it. It never did that before. If you tap the top of the machine, it makes a rattling noise, even when its off. It also now retains water in the soap dish, which it had never done before. He must have made a major mistake in putting the machine back together. We dont know what the major mistake was, but we know when it happened. We heard him curse. We were left with only one conclusion.A second Sears repairman came, but refused the repair the damage done by the first Sears repairman. So, in the end, we spent $140 on a repair visit that made the machine worse. Then we spent another $958 on a new machine. The math in terms of legally applicable damages is relatively simple.Failing that, Ill write long and entertaining vignettes in every forum available, detailing the incompetence of Sears repair personnel -- this in the hope that the once venerable Sears will finally be put out to pasture.

Day 2 The repairman got to the house in the time frame quoted. Took the washer completely apart and put it back together and ran a short cycle. Seemed to work. Day 3 I started a load of wash. Everything seemed to be running fine until a racket was coming from the machine during the spin cycle. I called SEARS repair and scheduled the third appt. between 8 & 12. the following day. No calls to confirm. I called after 10 to confirm and they said the time had changed to between10 & 12. Twelve-thirty came around and I called to find out Whats Happening? Pushed back again. Finally he showed up at 2:30pm. He had not secured the plastic liner of the tub. The big plastic round piece on top was flying around hitting the inside of the tub. To fix it he had to take the machine apart again. My suggestion is to have English speakers taking calls for SEARS. Be truthful about the time frames. I had two wasted days waiting for SEARS Id bet money SEARS would not have waited for me.

I was forced by LG to use Sears Repair for warranty work on a fridge. If you want to be terrified Google LG Linear Compressor in Kenmore Refrigerators... With no other options than Sears to replace a $261 part that is free, the final bill will be over $600 in labor and added parts (that I many not need) and 8 days waiting for another appointment because although I sent them a picture of the compressor plate, they didnt bring it with them. Shameful

Very good service call although tainted by the lack of competence in the Sears Service in placing my order of the part. The service tech who installed our part gave us excellent time line information and arrived on time. He was polite, professional and even offered information to us that would help us maintain the part.

I had several times when SEARS sent a really good professional. The last time I had service that was not the way it went. First, it was a different person (the other retired I think) and I had someone who didnt know what to do and make intelligent decisions as to what should be done -- other than getting a new washer. I paid for the service call and couldnt wait to push him out the door.I think the Frigidaire washer is not the best on the market to begin with. The one I inherited spun out. The second one I bought from a neighborhood company, that I didnt know was going out of business. The one leaks somewhere. I still havent figured out where, but think it is out the front door. The last repairman stated I just had to clean it up -- just soap and water. HA! It still leaks and I was out my $84.00 service call.

The person sent to repair our hot water heater told me he was a technician, not a plumber and that since this is a plumbing problem involving the previous Sears subcontractor, we needed to contact them (which we found out is no longer in business). A call to Sears did not resolve our problem so we are filing a complaint with Fairfax County Consumer Complaints. We got a plumber to come in and repair the hot water heater costing us $400.00 out of pocket.

The serviceman were professional; they identified themselves when they arrived and what they were there for. They came in and took care of what was needed no hesitation. Finishing included making sure there was not a mess left. The service went smoothly and I will call them out again.

The service technician, Eli, arrived on time. He was courteous and patiently answered our questions. He also showed us the parts he replaced; offered us a home warranty insurance which we declined. In has been a week and so far my refrigerator is still working!

Was able to book a same-day appointment online for a dryer repair. I was given a 4 hour window which was narrowed by texts and emails as our appointment approached - very helpful. Two very polite and knowledgable technicians arrived and fixed the dryer for a modest price. They also calibrated and inspected the washing machine. Before they left, which was approaching 6 pm, they asked if we had anything else wed like them to take a look at. Follow me! We had pulled out the dishwasher to remove a piece of glass and couldnt get it remounted under the counter - every time we opened the dishwasher, the top drawer came flying out. The technicians fixed it within minutes. So one service fee, one service call, three jobs completed. Couldnt have been happier with Sears Appliance Repair.

I have the protection plan on all my Kenmore appliances. My appliances are a little older but of great quality. Sears came to my house in the morning ordered the part which was delivered by noon and installed by 4pm... fabulous

We had an extremely positive experience with Sears Appliance Repair. I was able to schedule an appointment quickly and easily, the repair person arrived on time, and he was very knowledgeable. He then even worked with me to get the part he needed to fix our dishwasher the same day. The only slight negative was that I felt a little bit pressured to sign up for Sears Home Services, which I did not end up doing although I did conclude that it was a reasonable offer for someone looking for the lowest time commitment when it comes to appliance repair.

The service was excellent. The pressure your service providers are under to sell additional products or services is not ideal. It makes for a more stressful interaction with the customer.

What at first appeared to be a relatively quick and easy ice maker part replacement, turned out to be a much more complicated and time consuming resolution. The mechanic was very polite, patient, professional and methodical in trying to trace down the solution via online manuals and searches. After saying hed have to return, he suddenly returned as he had an Aha moment and figured it out - an electronic component disconnect in the main part of the fridge. He could just as easily left to keep on schedule with the rest of his scheduled appointments - with the inherent inconvenience in our own busy time and motion schedules.Job well done!

Amazing that you cant post a review with zero stars!!! I will never buy another appliance from Sears. After being a loyal customer for 40+ years I find that every time I have a issue with a Kenmore appliance I am told I have to pay for a service contract an then on the next service call (since the first one did not fix the problem) I am told it cant be fixed. Recently this has involved my refrigerator, in the past it was my dishwasher. I was told by the Sears repairman that the reason my dishwasher left crud on the glasses was because I put dirty dishes in it. Really!

My techncian, Lucian Mann, was refreshing and very concerned about solving the issue. He took time to explain how the equipment works to me and my tenant. He also took time to get me the best deal on 20 service warranty plans. I current manage 3 commercial buildings and Im real estate agent. If the excellent customer service continues, I will consider Sears warranties on other products as well. Thanks Mr. Man.Carolyn

At first, the tech didnt arrive at the specified time. Had to reach out to have the tech return the same day as the food from the freezer would have been spoiled. When the tech checked the unit, he recommended to replace the whole unit ($500- $600). I paid the $110 for his service. Called in a second tech from a different local company. He saw & had to only melt the ice built-up near the fan ($80). Few days have passed & the unit is working fine. I still like Kenmore products. I just wanted to share my experience.

They gave me a four hour window and arrived 75 minutes after the window was over. The dispatch could not locate the driver or get a message to him. I called several times to try to indicate that I had elsewhere to be after the window. Messed up my day, that I did take off from work, because if it. That said, work was done quickly and the repair seems to be good. Just wish they did a better job of keeping to a schedule and communicating with their repair team.

Ive had Sears appliance repair come twice to my condo and Ive been so impressed both times. The technician advised me to purchase a warranty for my AC/heating system and Im so happy that I did because something went wrong last week and Sears repaired it for FREE because of the warranty. I highly recommend the warranty and Sears repair to everyone.

The repair itself was fine and the man who came to the house was polite, knowledgeable, and did a great job (4-5 stars for him).My low rating is for the other aspects of the whole experience of going 2 weeks without a dryer. We called the day after our dryer broke and scheduled an appointment for 7-10 days later after the part would supposedly arrive at our house. It did not arrive on time, so we had to reschedule. When the repairman came to install the part, he noted that the wrong part was sent. So, he had to re order another part to be sent to our house and then reschedule an appointment for him to come back. Well, the part did not come in time so I had to reschedule again. The dryer was ultimately fixed within 5-10 minutes of the repairmans arrival and is working fine. Our frustrations are with the whole process of having the condition misdiagnosed and having the wrong part sent, then having to wait for the mail delivery to our home for each part. Why are the parts sent by mail? Why cant the repairman have parts in his truck or warehouse and then bring a part or two based on the condition called in?

The price for the service was unbeatable. the only problem we had was that I told the schedulers what the error code was and looked up what part I needed. When the technician first came out he didnt have the part. We had to schedule it out again for a week later in order to have it fixed. The parts arrived and the technicians, who were great by the way, fixed the dryer. Very professional.
