I have helped decorate one of the apartments. I found fulfillment in the gift of creating a beautiful space for a family I did not know, so that they could join this incredible community. I am convinced that Saranam has discovered the key to ending poverty and homelessness in our community.

As a Saranam board member and frequent volunteer in the childrens program, I can say with conviction that Saranam provides wonderful opportunities for Albuquerque homeless families. I have personally seen children grow from scared and angry little people into trusting, happy and relaxed children, able to trust volunteers and able to grow and blossom into excellent students

First of all DO NOT RENT from the fox ridge apartments if you are not part of this program. This program will make you move out of your apartment within 30 days if they want your apartment for their clients.. I saw a mother and two young girls who live there and the mother worked very hard and they made her move in 30 days because Saranam wanted her apartment. She had to settle and move back into the Fox Ridge Apartments and they never told her that the person who lived there before her died in that apartment. So its not a good idea to rent from Fox Ridge at all.If you are a domestic violence Survivor do not disclose that information to them if you are trying to apply. They will discriminate and discriminate until finally they have to exit you. And then they will give you 3 days to vacate and then you have to make appointments to get the rest of your stuff. I left my daughters documentation there and the lady who is head of housing said she would hold onto it until I can make my appointment to get my stuff. I needed that documentation to find some new housing since they gave me very little time. They gave me 3 days exactly to get out and to find a new place. They discriminated against me the entire time that I was in the program. That was just the staff. Now let me tell you a little bit about the women who live there. One of the women drove off one of the volunteers because she screamed at her for taking a very noisy toy away from her son while storytime was going on. Another incident that happened with the volunteers was one of the women who live their son threw a firecracker at the volunteer while she was moving furniture. The women who live there have no respect for anybody. Several times I had to complain about the trash outside of their house and since those women were in this program they got to get away with leaving dirty diapers outside in the heat for a week. Another thing is the women live in complete filth. CYFD has been called out to almost every single woman who has live there for various things including cruel and unusual punishment to their children. Another call included feeding alcohol to their children. Now in my whole entire life I have never heard of cruel and unusual punishment charges to a child. The housing coordinator knew all this was going on and all they do was brush it under the rug.Another fun fact I learned about this program is that they own the apartment complex right. So they are getting donors to give them money to pay for the apartments for the people who live there but they own the Apartments. Now if that doesnt seem suspicious to you I dont know what would because that seems like a scam to me. Another thing is one of the head ladies that work there for 12 years got let go and they wouldnt tell us why. I wonder if they are embezzling because when I asked one of the head ladies if she got a new car she was very scared to say yes that she did she actually lied to me and told me no. So she had a brand new car and lied which I find odd. So I really do feel like some terrible things are going on and I am going to do whatever I can to make expose them. They discriminated against me and now I just want everyone to know what this program is really about. I am not some ghetto woman either I am educated and I articulate well. Just because I dont have a lot of money doesnt mean that I can be bullied and thats what happened the entire time I was in this program. One of the women actually told me I was never part of the community and I gave all of their children clothing and toys. The women that live there get stipends every month and none of their children even have coats on in the winter. So that was my rant and I hope you took away from what I had to sayI also like help someone from that company said they disagree. This is all facts. These are things that have happened that I have witnessed two and that there are other witnesses to as well. Another thing that I forgot to add was how one of the womans boyfriend threatened me with rocks and she continues to live there.

As a prior resident I have nothing but good things to say about this place. For a program that provides everything you need to succeed, they dont ask much except for people to grow up and be responsible. They provide a lot of support and education to help families truly get out of their homelessness.
