It seems like the most efficient way to get these people motivated and will assist you is to PUT THEM IN THE PARKING LOT (like the rest of us) and in the HEAT OF THE DAY! Outside for the first time in their lives probably and having to stand out there for the few hours they had to endure (like the rest of us)Thank you COVID-19!

I needed to renew my EBT benefits, so I went in to the office. I was greeted with a very nice woman that had me sign in and then explained what I needed to do. I filled out the application and returned to the woman to get a number. I barely sat down and my number was called. I hand my papers to the woman behind the counter she looked it over, stamped it and sent me on my way. I was only there 15 minutes and it would have been a shorter visit had I filled the paper work out before I arrived. Fast, efficient, professional and friendly. Excellent experience.

I will be 100% honest in this review. I have mixed feelings when it comes to here. As a previous state employee myself, I somewhat understand the system but I do know its somewhat different within each agency. However, the way an employee should act and treat the client SHOULD be the same everywhere. I have encountered both caring and self righteous people during my time of need. Just because I look well and present myself well, doesnt mean Im not worthy of help. In fact, I AM considered homeless, I AM considered mentally ill, I AM considered disabled, and yet Ive had to struggle with applying again and again just to receive certain benefits. Ive been looked down on and told why dont I get someone else to pay for this or that. Unless you have walked in my shoes or live my life, please dont judge me and assume to think you know what Im going through. Im a human being that is doing the best I can. They say most people are a paycheck away from being homeless and unfortunately I can confirm that. BUT we shouldnt have to be kept down at the bottom when we are working hard to pull ourselves up.

I always have a super short wait. Ive been here about 7 times, and have never really dreaded it.I kinda wish the employees practiced active listening. Came out of the past session not really knowing if my issue got resolved.

I went there this morning and got a new card. Then went to my car to call and activate pin and card. While I was doing that some woman pulled up and told me to get off the property. That it was private property. So I went back in and told the security guard. He told me not to worry about it. To make a long story short the police got involved and I still dont know what happened or why I was told to leave. I should sue that woman for false accusations. The people inside that work there have been wonderful. 5 stars to them.

Im a disabled veteran who and I shave my head. Im a big guy but extremely respectful and courteous.I walked in there and was immediately singled out and treated like an arch enemy of the state. The line was almost out the door, the employees were basically laughing at us waiting there. Security was more like the Gestapo, then after a 2 hour standing wait the worker there treated me like complete scum. They cause more drama than anyone there and it was as if it actually made her day when she got to decrease my food stamps benefits.... again. When when they realize, you treat people how you want to be treated and you get what you give.

Horrible staff and I mean horrible. 2 staff and a security guard got onto me because I was upset about information that was never given to me that I needed. My fiance was upset with me a long with the staff which caused me to get a little routy. They threatened to call the police and tell them that I was abusive and hitting my fiance. My fiance then got very upset with them Because she knew that never happened. These staff need to stay out of peoples relationships because that is non of there concern.

This office is closed 4 the moment to in person visits, due 2 Covid 19.

Wait forever for the simplest thing and its an all day event. Its so dirty, unprofessional staff, kids yelling, people making scenes.

What can I say, it is the welfare department. If it is not the people that you are standing in line with that are unpleasant then, it is the individual that you have to talk to when you get up to one of those windows. It is an overall unpleasant experience that does not have to be the way that it is.

Was supposed to have a phone interview at 10:30 AM. Never received a call. I called and was on hold for 42 minutes when it finally rings and hangs up! Thanks a lot NM for your incredible reliability..

This location is mostly fast and veey helpful. They want to get you in and out fast but help you with what you need so you have to keep coming back.

When in to get help with bills and the wait was about 10-15 mins I feel was very good and was helped with my electric bill!

Hate this place. Always understaffed waiting time is is NEVER under an hour. I can sit there all day and still 90% of the time nothing gets done. And that would consist of me going and coming back about 3 times. And even STILL! nothing gets done.

This place is reckless, they have no clue what theyre doing, I went over there to recertify my food stamps, they had me waiting for two long hours, my ticket number was 52, and then I was asked if I wanted to wait for an interview, I said,yes, I might as well since Im already here! They called my name and told me that the lady that had called my name the first time put me down for something else other than an interview, not cool for someone who is disabled, this place has alot of new staff members working there, they have no clue how to run this place!!!

Havent even made it by yet, and Im already sorely dissapointed at how much this place is lacking. I put in an online app and never recieved a phone call interview, or was notified if I was legible, moreso, I am currently on hold and have been forever, and all i have is 3 very simple questions that are not answered on the FAQ either. I cant imagine how bad it is actually going into the bulding. There is little to no support and this is supposed to be a HUMAN SERVICES DEPARTMENT? If we cant even take care of our humans, I have a highly doubt that New Mexico will ever truly improve. 1/2 star :(

Get there early! They are usually so full they only let u in 1 at a time! Also, some things they only do a few of a day and its always 1st come 1st serve. GO EARLY! And prepare to wait!

The employees are super rude! The employees are clean and presentable.When it comes to helping out or being helpful they act as if Its killing them!I know that nobody likes going to the HSD.But the difference here is that the employees are getting paid to be here, as for myself and other I dont get paid unless Im at work!The only reason I go to the HSD is to pick up or drop off paperwork for my employer but I dont get paid for driving time or waiting at the HSD.On the upside the HSD office and parking lot are kept clean!Theres plenty of parking but the lot can fill up fast on certain days and times.The employees are clean and presentable.

Everyone I came into contact with was awesome except one guy. Sadly, he was the last person I had to speak with, and so the negative interaction became even more memorable. Considering the reasons people have to visit this building, perhaps his innattention to genuine customer service, his monotone delivery of the information, his lack of eye contact and general disrespect wont matter to many. It mattered to me. I suspect, however, that all of these issues had more to do with his personality, and less to do with his being forced to deal with an older, slightly deaf, unattractive woman new to the process. Generally, though, the office is easy to find, large and has ample parking. Upon entrance, one is greeted by smiling and helpful young ladies and a pleasant security guard. You will be scanned for weapons, so leave your strap at home. You are directed to sign in and given a number, the ladies told me what I might expect as far as wait times, even though they were a little longer than stated, the staff was encouraging and pleasant...Hang on, let me see what we can do, you are here now so lets get you taken care of. I even noted staff checking outside for persons needing help near closing time so that no one was missed. I felt no judgemental vibe from anyone(except young mr. suave that last day). Although there are kids cartoons playing on a tv, be prepared to endure a few screaming kids, but thankfully we saw no screaming mothers. Be prepared to be there an average of 2 hours. Things to bring: warm coat, earbuds, book or phone, snack or beverage if needed, and a calm demeanor.
