Nobody is helping me find affordable housing on a Disability income of only $783 & $112 in EBT. IM GOING TO END UP ON THE STREET with all my things in storage living better than me! Thanks for nothing... doing absolutely nothing.

I had truly horrible experience. My advocate Bernadine Chavez before NM Division of Vocational Rehabilitation abandoned my case because of my autism disability on 10/10/12. Together with my horrible experience with DVR was also an essential factor that I suffered from mental illness with depression and anxiety. I lost the vital ability of my brain due to the illness. I finally recovered and rehabilitated to my potential. I struggled for 8 years.

I contacted because I really needed help. Approximately six weeks later I got a call asking if I still needed an advocate. I informed the caller that it was too late. I handled my problem as best I could. (Of course being disabled I got screwed but thats how it is for the disabled in New Mexico). I spent lots of money and am still owing a bill. This would not have happened if the law meant anything in New Mexico. The point is this: If you are disabled and you live in New Mexico, dont call these guys. Just make plans to leave the state. I am thoroughly disgusted.

I tried to speak with them about things I need help with, because I was referred to them by the CEO of Catholic Charities. The woman I spoke with was in a huge rush to get me off the phone and didnt want to hear me out about what Im dealing with. I asked her if she could give me a summary of what her agency DOES help with (since she swore she couldnt help me advocate for the one need she let me tell her about) and she refused. I tried to speak to someone else at the agency, and their only answer for me was that if I wanted to know what they did, I should look at their website. The CEO of Catholic Charities had spoken with them, they told him to have me call, and then they were EAGER to NOT help and brush me off. I dont recommend this place at all, no one should be treated this way.

I can not say enough good things about the help we got here. Mr. Jesse Clifton was assigned to my sons case. We had a dispute about how APS was handing my child. Mr. Clifton was the most patient person, I have ever encountered. He doesn’t make you feel awful at all and he takes his time to listen. I left my son alone with Mr. Clifton during a hearing and during a manesfeataion meeting. I did not attend either and I know he was in good hands with Mr. Clifton. We are extremely thankful for this individual and could not have got past this issues with out him. Also the rest staff is very friendly and welcoming. Thank you Mr. Clifton for helping us when no one else cared to bother. You are truly a gem.

This a review for attorney Jessie Clifton. Mr. Clifton did an amazing job representing our child during an issue with APS.

Came to them needing a guardianship changed for my friend because his guardians were abusing him and keeping his social security money. They (Clarissa) ended up advocating for the ABUSERS. Said abusers have since been charged by the state and guardianship surrendered, without the help of Disability Rights of New Mexico. I was warned not to use them and didnt listen. Lesson learned.

Alice Liu McCoy is a true advocate. Professional and personable, in one package. Navigating the legal system, while keenly aware and responsive to the individuals she represents.

These people are not in the business of helping people with disabilities keep employment a law they claim. If you have a employment issue please stay away from this people as they will sell out to the highest bidder. It not what you know it who you know. They support the highest bidder.
