Please do not use their knife sharpening service. My knives came out in worse condition than before. Not only was the secondary grind ruined by unevenness and the primary grind touched by their stones at the belly leaving a hideous buff mark but by using the rapid sharpening method (probably a tormek), that was obviously used here, the tempering of the steel is most likely ruined. Their website described using their method as using two slow moving wet stones (one at a low grit and another at a high grit) but it is obvious that only a low grit was used dry at a very high speed. I would consider this false advertising. Instead of taking their time to slowly sharpen it, they whacked it and all was said and done within five minutes. I, plus many others I’ve shown my knife to, consider my knife totally ruined. Did not get a refund nor did I get my knife replaced by them for being destroyed as the owner did not seem to grasp that there was a big issue with the quality of the service rendered only believing that I did not like how sharp it was. Only offered to resharpen it (read: ruin) more which I declined and to sharpen more of my knives free of charge (no thanks! One ruined knife is more than enough). I believe that they should set expectations to the customer before letting them drop off their knives because if I would have known, I would have gone somewhere else. The price is cheap and you definitely get what you paid for. If you have a cheap $5 knife that you just need touched up and don’t care, then by all means. If you have a quality knife, steer clear. I am currently out a $285 knife because I find it completely unusable any more. I am now in the process of having my blade replaced by the original manufacturer. They seem like a really nice store for sewing but they should not be in the business of sharpening peoples knives.

I was able to get my thread cutter fixed. I give it four stars because they did not fix or tell me they couldn’t fix the cutter that cuts bobbin thread when inserting bobbin in case. I found the part on EBay and was able to fix for about 12 dollars. I had the machine at Bobs for 2 months and they did not fix problem. So I took it back and they said it would be front in line. Was not. About a month later took to Bernina and am very happy now.

This shop lost my business. Ive been shopping here for fabric every couple of weeks since the pandemic started and have always paid with cash. Today I was told after I had my fabric cut that they prefer credit cards only. No sign on the door stating this new policy. Im sure the other fabric shops in town will gladly accept my money.

Super rude! Barked at us about how many people could come in rather than calmly explaining how many people were allowed in the store. Use some tact and grace in the future if you want customers. I wouldn’t waste my money here.

I took sewing machine there today not a high end one at, and they were so helpful! I was prepared to leave it figuring it was some way out my league, but they helped me figure the bobbin was the issue! Bob even came out from the back to assist,He was so helpful and patiently helped both me and (I didn’t get her name). When I asked how much I owed for the private class, he said just “reread the manual” a sense of humor too!!I have had my sewing machine tuned there and was prepared to have it done and they said it didn’t need it .It is a pleasure to work with such an honest and helpful business! It pays to shop and support small business.

Excellent sales and machine service.

Have had my Bernina Active 140 for years - depend on it for a business I am co - owner in. Machine was making a clicking sound in bobbin area, so I took it to Ann Silvas dreading a long repair. MANNY who is their chief engineer/technician fixed it immediately, NO CHARGE!!!! And it runs like new, I did not lose any business down time. We have relied on Manny for advice when purchasing another machine, needle usage, and a whole host of items and he has ALWAYS given us sterling advice. WE ARE SIMPLY THRILLED WITH OUR EXPERIENCES AND SERVICE AT ANN SILVAS and especially MANNYS EXPERT ADVICE AND COUNSEL.

Two weeks ago I brought my sewing machine to be serviced and a wonky foot control to be fixed. I live two hours away from the store, so I use their very convenient same day service.Unfortunately, my instructions about the intermittent foot control did not get relayed to their repair folks and they set the reverse lever to not work the way it used to. I was heart broken when the control did not work when I got home. (You see theres 5 stars on my review.)I called the store on Monday and talked to Steve Silva and told him what happened. I mailed my sewing machine to the store. Steve fixed the reverse lever and replaced the electrical cord to my foot control at no charge. Plus he shipped my sewing machine back.Steve also has changed a couple of store procedures to fix the miscommunication and for the repair folks not to change the lever settings. He was caring, responsive, and just wonderful.My sewing machine works wonderfully. I am so pleased with the stores response and care that I highly recommend them. This is a wonderful store with great people.

Ann Silvas Bernina Sewing Center is my favorite shop. The people in the shop are friendly, very helpful and more often than not, go the extra mile. I buy the majority of my quilting supplies and fabrics from Anns. The staff at Ann’s are helpful with picking out coordinating fabrics for my projects and giving helpful advice. The classes offered at Anns are exceptional and the teachers are fantastic. The summer Sewing Camp classes for kids are great and I applaud the teachers. They are caring, patient and the kids come away wanting to go back for more. The Service Department is great. The people servicing the sewing machines and sergers are the best of the best. Besides my modern day sewing machine, I have taken my featherweight and toy sewing machine in for services and they always come back working like a dream. Ann Silvas Bernina is the greatest and has earned my respect.

After visiting several other sewing shops in the Albuquerque, this one hands down is the best one Ive been too. The people there are very friendly, the customer service is fantastic and their service department has a quickest turn around time that Ive found so far. I just purchased a serger there and their financing options for their machines are convenient and easy. I loved the experience there!

I purchased a Bernina from a friend, I really don’t know how to sew but I love to sew when we moved, my machine really got damaged I was so embarrassed to even take it in there, they were extremely professional and friendly, before they ordered parts they called and gave me a price and asked if I wanted to continue with the order. I was so happy with their service I highly recommend them to all my friends.

I do not recommend ordering anything from this place. The staff is friendly but I put an order in two months ago. When I first placed the order they said it would be a month. So I waited 5 weeks and called back. There first excuse was it was on back order and they would reorder it that day. (Why did they have to wait until I called back to reorder) It was already paid for by the way. So they told me it would be in by the end of that week . Week and half I call again. They gave the whole story again and said maybe next week. The only good thing is they refunded my money when I asked. Everytime I called no one seemed to know what was going on. It should not be that hard to order and keep track especially when the customer paid upfront.

The staff is wonderful but I was insulted by the service tech, even if I made a mistake about the problem, the service tech implied I did not know anything about sewing and then I said so you did nothing to service this machine and he said he cleaned it. This with the insult cost me 80 dollars.However the rest of the staff are professional and great.

I take my machines there for service. And this year, I was almost unsatisfied with the service. Long story short, their customer care went above and beyond. I finally purchased a Bernina, and retied my Singers. Thank you for making my year again.

Went here for a vacuum. Had a pretty good idea of what I wanted already. The sales person was absolutely stellar--answered what I wanted to know, showed some things I didnt already know. Didnt BS or try to upsell things that were unreasonable. Great experience.

I have had nothing but good experiences from Ann Silva. I have both a Bernina sewing machine and serger and just recently purchased a Baby Lock embroidery machine. In the past, the service on the sewing machine and the serger has been excellent and although I havent completed the classes on the Baby Lock am expecting to learn more about this wonderful machine. In the last several years, I’ve bought 2 machines from Ann’s shop. I bought a Babylock Diana serger, (about 5 or 6 years ago) and about 2 years ago, I bought a Babylock Aria sewing machine. Neither was inexpensive, but as an avid lifelong sewer, I was prepared for this. I love my machines. I was surprised though that the woman who rang me up for my Aria told me that this machine was not made for machine quilting, I kept my mouth shut and purchased the machine. Of course the machine is made for quilting! The manual is even full of instructions as well as it having an oversized throat. Anyway, the shop is nice, and yes, I will return at a later date.

My husband gave me a gift certificate..$100.00 no good... over 1 year....So they keep the $........ what a lovely way to make money.

Ann Silvas is a one-stop store for quilters. Their fabric is gorgeous, they have lots of patterns and tools, theyre conveniently located and they fix any brand of sewing machine.

Im a long time fan of this store. It is the place to go for your machine,fabric, pattern etc. The staff are friendly and Ann has wonderful teachers. If your machine needs fixing this is where I bring mine for the past 15 years.

This has always been the only place to buy a machine or have it serviced. I have been a customer for over 20 years, and whether I need an old machine tuned up or a new machine there is always someone who can show me how to use it and great classes I can practice with my new (or old) machine in. I havent bought a machine there or any fabric, so this review is entirely based on their sewing maching repair and servicing which is wonderful.I had a bad experience at Ryans Sewing and Vacuum. They kept my machine longer than they said they would, it was obviously not cleaned or not well cleaned and the machine broke shortly after I got it back. I decided to take it in to Ann sylvas. I explained the situation to them and they told me that it would take 7-10 days to get it back to me. They got it back in one. The machine is pristine and sews perfectly. In the future I will always bring my machines to Anns instead of wasting my money at Ryans.

I placed an order for a panel on their web site. A few days later I get a notice that they are out of stock and my money is being refunded. Yet the panel is still showing on their website as available. Won’t be trusting them again.
