If I could give less then one star I would. First the guy burned my fingers by drilling the same spot too hard. After that the nail file and buffer he used were old and used. One nail is weirdly longer then the others. I have a weird burning sensation still. The overall nail is pretty but wasn’t what I wanted and he argued about it. My fiancé was supposed to get a waterless pedicure but it wasn’t and the “foot massage” was so quick it couldn’t even be called a massage. Also all of the licenses of the salon and techs are expired. Overall tools were dirty, not sanitized properly, and gross and the people were rude. Do not come here!!!!!Update: I have four nails chipped and soreness from my nail plate.

Very nice ladies! Just make sure when you go in that you know what you want and make it clear...I didnt get the toe design I wanted. Got a fill and a manicure...dont go here if you want a design...my attached picture shows thier version of a heart. My nail tech did a great job with shaping my nails and painting the solid colors. VERY pricey!

I highly do not recommend this place. They charge too much for just a simple design acrylic nail set for $65!!! Also, they will charge you a $20 fee if you cancel your appointment or dont show up and my nails did not look like the picture I showed him. Such a simple design that I can even do myself. Just got my nails done for Valentines Day & they are already lifting. Will not be coming back. Im very disappointed.

I’ve used their services many times in the past. The work they do is good but unfortunately now I will NOT be back! Called when they opened at 11:00 to cancel a 2:00 appointment since my car broke down and I can’t get there. Tried calling last night but there’s not an answering machine or service. They’re going to charge me a $20.00 cancellation fee. They need to pay their technician. So that’s 2 people at $20.00 each to cancel… as soon as I could. $40.00 wasted! $40.00 extra dollars I do not have since I’ll be having to pay a tow truck and mechanic. Poor business practice! Will not return! How is someone supposed to cancel 24 hours ahead of time when my car broke within that 24 hours.

Overall I’m going to rate this a neutral experience, but feel I must share. It is so hard to find a good nail salon that takes attentive care with your nails, feet & hands. This is something I receive everytime I come to this salon. I feel that the nail technician always takes their time with my nails & ensures great quality.With that being said one of my nails is chipped & I just left the salon. Also, when I put my hands under the led light they burned so bad. This has never happened to me before?I don’t understand why there is such a lack of professionalism. I don’t understand their reservation method of taking our card details over the phone. That is just not they way to run business in my opinion. Also there was a very large long haired Husky roaming around the salon all day. This is both unsanitary, and just rude to the customers. I could smell wet dog while I was getting my nails done. Don’t get me wrong, I love animals. But that is not the zen experience I’m looking for when getting my nails done. The young ladies working there were very loud and honestly, obnoxious. They made me feel uncomfortable & ruined the vibes. The lady running the front desk doesn’t know the prices? To me that just shows a lack of care. I don’t plan on coming back to this salon.

My daughter-in-law got pedicures from Haleigh and Chen (?). They were very thorough and professional. Chen painted the cutest pink flowers on my daughter-in-law’s big toe on both of her feet. We will be going back for more!

Its Royal nails now and I will not go anywhere else Kyana and all the other nail techs there are friendly and do great work at awesome prices love this place.

The people are super nice and quick. We had mani-pedi combos and my toes look great! My feet are still scratchy though.. my finger nails have chrome on them but the gel polish came off my index finger in part on the same day I had them done. Ive never had gels come off on their own without me peeling it.Im more than a little disappointed considering the cost of having gels applied.

I adore this place! They take such excellent care of the customers. You feel quite pampered.It is also worth noting that they are spacious and have the best airflow, so you rarely smell the overpowering chemicals that are often in nail salons.They do take walk-ins, but it is best to call ahead and get an appointment, to shorten your wait time.Love this place!!!

Staff was so rude when I walked in mainly from the oldest daughter who runs things at the salon. Been going here for two years now and sad to say they will be losing my service. I’ve loved the mom and dad that work there always so sweet and work so good on my nails. But not only was I treated poorly when I walked in, this has happened many times before by the same young lady. Not only that while I visited I was sitting next to another customer getting her nails done with her mask off! And not once did any of the staff tell her to put on her mask . That will be the last time I ever visit.

I asked for polygel nails and got acrylic, got my toes done, she added a 3rd coat and it didnt completely dry. I was in Vegas for my bday with messed up toenails. Never again. Oh my guy got a mani pedi with me and they didnt even cut his nails.. all for almost $200. NEVER AGAIN!

Definitely a great place to get your nails done. I got there at 3 with no appointment and they fit me in even though they were definitely busy. The young man who did my nails was great. My toes look fantastic and my feet feel amazing! The manicure hurt a little but that was more to do with my extremely sensitive cuticles than his technique. I plan on visiting this place again!

Im so happy I found this Spa. They are incredible. Always on time, great with my elderly mother. They have all customers wash their hands prior to touching anything. All equipment is single use sterilized. They chairs are cleaned after each customer. So impressed.

My first pedicure! Better than my little pony.... I have enough miles on my dogs to have toenails too tough for me to cut easily, so it was great having someone else -- with practiced expertise -- cut them for me.My experience at Athena will have me coming back for sure!

Best nail salon I’ve been to in a very long time! Staff was so friendly and kind. I was seen right away and they were very professional. The woman doing my nails was very meticulous, and made sure all my nails matched in length and that each step, I was satisfied with how they looked. My nails look perfect! So happy! And above all, she was so gentle! Usually my nails are sore from the filing etc but she took care to make sure my comfort was considered.

My daughter and I always go together when she is in town and she has been a customer since she was 10. It has always been a wonderful place to get away from the busy day to day and pamper ourselves and spend Mom and Daughter time. Great family atmosphere. Came here to get my nails done today, it was a great experience! Doug and Jenny had great customer service throughout the time I was there. Jenny did an amazing job on my nails and they look fabulous! She took her time, had patience and made sure my nails were just as I wanted. To save you from reading a paragraph, I will bullet point everything I love about them.-10% off the first time you check-in-Military Discounts-Discount card stamped for every visit-Plastic covered pedicure tubs!!!! ** A++ for hygiene !-Oils, Scrubs, Hot stones, hot towels, massages for pedicures-individually wrapped bags of paraffin wax for your feet (NO communal wax tub where everyone sticks their feet in!!)-Massage chairs-Complimentary water, snacks, candy- Any shape/design you can imagine for your nails. They will do it or get as close to it as they can-Incredibly friendly and skilled !-They have dip powder for nails (Im from California and its hard to find in New Mexico, but they have it!)-Everyone does an amazing job (Ive had different techs each time for either a mani or pedi)-My 7 year old loves coming here with me and everyone is extremely friendly with her-They have other services other than mani-pedis but I havent tried them, so cant comment on that.Im sure theres more I love but thats all I can remember for now. Ive also brought my sister, my husband, my friend, and soon ill be bringing my mom here because thats how AWESOME this place is :D

Customer service is lacking and my nail chipped after a week. When I went back to fix it, they did it terribly and the same nail chipped again. Ill never be back.

I get pedicures all the time and manicures when it’s a special occasion. Athena Day Spa has been the best experience I’ve ever had. I would go back over and over. I would call and make an appointment because they spend a little more time on you when you do, but walking will still get a great experience. Jen and V are excellent and do amazing art on your nails and educate you on how to take care and grow your natural nails.

Some of the worst service Ive ever had. They obviously dont respect their appointments as they let walk-ins go first. They actually made my hands bleed around the cuticles which was painful. When I called and scheduled the appointment, I told them I wanted to get the white tipped nails. I was fine with the price they gave. Once I got there I was highly disappointed. Not only does their customer service suck, but I heard them bad mouthing previous customers! They obviously dont care about speaking English in front of their customers as a sign of respect. As I watched the walk-ins get service and I sat there with my hands bleeding, I decided to walk out. I will never come back here nor will I ever recommend this place to a sane person who wants good work done.

Just walked into their location to get a full set they a male and female, were just sitting there eating lunch, there’s no one else in the place it is completely empty. I asked for a full set and they advised that they are completely “booked”. Interesting seeing as there is no one in their shop. I’ll take my business elsewhere not a problem.

Horrible paid way more than they originally had said for a basic set. Not only that the nails are way to thin and break so incredibly easy. The day after getting them done already 3 broken and it hasn’t been 24hrs. Would not recommend. Also can’t go back to get them fixed because I live out of town. A nice treat for myself turned sour (update hasn’t even been a week and all of them have broken.)

My gel nails last longer than any other shop Ive tried and even basic paint on toenails gets me a week longer than anyone else. My sister and I went. I had acrylic nails removed, new extensions put on with regular polish. $27. My sister had acrylic extensions put on with regular polish. $40. Neither of us had our cubicles pushed back, nail art done, hand massage or cuticle oil applied. How her set ended up costing $13 more than mine is a mystery to me. Will not be going back.

If there was a way to leave a negative rating I would! The older lady who was helping me did not know how to communicate and she proceeded to laugh and shake her head at me! Made me feel like my money, my nails and my feelings meant nothing. So sad because the place is really nice with a great selection of colors. My polish wasnt even and you could see the layers and the uneven coats, but she didnt care and she just laughed.

Messaged them this afternoon around 2 to ask if I could come at 4:15 for a pedi. They said yes which was great. I have come here before for my nails and had a good experience. I arrived early and got seated at 4, I didn’t mind waiting and relaxing for the extra time since I was early. However I sat there until 4:46 without any acknowledgement as to when I’d get seen. The water my feet were in had gone cold. I could not wait any longer. I quietly exited without any acknowledgement from anyone who works there, even though they all watched me walk out. Customer service is huge for me and it sets you apart from the competition.

This is the best nail spa I have been to in Albuquerque, they are always friendly and helpful and willing to cater to my needs. Anytime I have a problem they fix it without question. I never have a problem getting an appointment and they are on time for my appointments. They always remember what I like. I have been coming hear for years, and would recomend this place to anyone.

If youre going here make sure they actually write your appointment down. I wanted to try this place out because Im getting married next year and heard that they do great work from my friends. I made an appointment a few days in advance since they were booked, drove 30 minutes and waited 15 to find out that they didnt even write my name down on the schedule. I felt incredibly embarrassed and didnt feel like I could do anything but leave and it was like the staff had no clue what I was even saying, like I was stupid. The regulars got the red carpet though, so maybe just be a regular or go with one of them. Otherwise maybe dont waste your time.

When you arrive for your appointment, you are greeted in a professional manner, to a spa that is clean, bright and inviting. Im extremely picky when it comes to my nails and Jennys work met all of my expectations; its always consistent. Your time (I have never had to wait) and business is valued. Pricing for services are competitive. Jenny and Doug are professional and your satisfaction is their highest priority.

I gave this place a try even though I only heard negative things about the business, and unfortunately, I would have to say the reviews were right. I was very disappointed in the service, and the polish was chipping after 2 days. I called and asked if I could have them repaint the tops of my nails (because she didnt the first time) and they told me a manicure should only last 5 days before its expected to wear off and there is nothing they can do. On top of that, the manicure took over an hour. I will definitely not be returning here and wouldnt recommend it to any of my friends either.

Called for 4 pedicures at 130pm. Was told yes can do them. Arrived at 140pm all of us were issued a pedicure chair. 2 people were done at 2:20pm. 1 of us just got started when the first 2 finished and the other still waiting. 2:24pm a young woman came to start the last pedicure. At this point we said no. She thought it was funny we said no and didnt care we sat almost an hour waiting. Waste of time. When you call make sure they have staff to accommodate the clientele. Otherwise plan to soak your feet for a very long time.Choose the pedicures that were $30 a piece however when going to check out we were told they were more because one of the people had gel nail polish on and it takes longer to get that off the toes.Make sure you ask or you will get charged items you are not expecting

Do not come here. If I could give less than 1 Star I would. Besides Jimmy, and Mimi, they do horrible work. They offer you to come in for an appt and you end up waiting 30 minutes because they are too busy. It’s like they don’t even write down appts. I’ve seen so many people get their nails done here and they are horrible. Plus they charge $45 for overlay that looks like a $25 manicure and I’m being generous. Also have horrible customer service. Like I said don’t come here.

Me and my two daughters have frequented Athena numerous times in the past. I’ve purchased gift cards and have also taken my Girlfriend in there. My two daughters (22 years old and 14 years old) went in to get their first acrylic nails done. A $90 charge which was fine.The kicker is the owner and another employee were talking very negatively about my daughters because they didn’t ask specifically for acrylic nails. The owner then told one of her clients that there needs to be nail etiquette and people shouldn’t say they want their nails done if they want acrylics. It was very condescending and embarrass my daughters. The nerve to talk about paying customers in front of other customers.These are two young sisters who were out enjoying each other’s company at Christmas time and had to be publicly embarrassed because the owner chooses not To Clearly Communicate with their clients. Unbelievable!! I bet the other customers in there felt uncomfortable as well! Very unprofessional. Very tacky. Athena doesn’t deserve my money any longer.

Wow! I had the special Pearl Spa pedicure and loved it. Delightfully scented lotions and soaks, wonderful massage of feet and legs, very pampering. I did not get the gentlemans name who did my pedicure, but he was great, just friendly enough and very professional.

I typically don’t write reviews but I felt led to do so regarding this establishment and the young lady who did my nails. The establishment is beautiful and has a peaceful aura to it that instantly puts you in a state of feeling relaxed. There are no TV’s just a nice vibe of music that plays softly in the background. I went to this particular place in need of help with growing out my natural nail. My nail technician was Erica. Simply put this woman was an absolute blessing to me and my nails, hahahaha! She knows what she’s doing, she answered all my questions, and she was patient with me as I sort of struggled with what I wanted to do etc. She took great care with my little baby nails and had me feeling so wonderful about my nails at the end of this. Long story short, she worked with me over a period of a couple of days. The establishment as a whole is 5-star with fair prices. But what made this place stand up above the rest and caused me to write this review was Erica. So to all my folks transiting from tips to a natural nail I’d encourage you to try this establishment and give Erica a try with helping you grow them strong. On top of all this, this woman is a follower of Jesus Christ. Amen!!!!! Blessings!!!
