Truly excellent! I got married recently and I was searching for a jeweler to add a setting and a stone to an heirloom piece (Grandmothers wedding band). I cant sing their praises enough. I mostly worked with Ellen Diamond, but everyone in the shop was courteous and helpful every time I visited. I was so devastated because only a month after I received my beautiful custom ring, I got in a bike accident which resulted in losing the stone and the setting being ruined. Ellen was so great and was willing to work with me to get my precious piece repaired; she even did it at a discount! It took no longer than a week and a half and my ring was back on my finger in beautiful shape. 10/10 would recommend. Mark Diamonds is the only place to go if you are looking for something different. I spent hours online and visiting other traditional jewelry shops for the right ring to propose but couldnt find what I was looking for. Joe and Christina helped me and together we were able to customize the ring I wanted for my Fiance at the time. She said yes and now we are officially married. I was greeted at the door by the proprietor, Ms Ellen Diamond and her grandpup Cooper! I was in a situation that looked a lot like procrastination to the untrained eye, but Ellen helped me find exactly the right gift with several hours to spare. As we got to know each other, it turned out her dear departed husband Mark and I had the same taste in cars, and her friend Marla happens to be my next door neighbor! Anyway, I got lucky this time by finding the perfect gift in stock, but Ellen told me with a bit of planning she can help me find larger, unique, and customized items for future gifting needs.

The whole crew at Mark Diamonds is absolutely amazing, but Joe is the best!! The custom experience was flawless from start to finish and the end product was more than we could have ever imagined. I went to Mark Diamond’s with a unique issue; I had two damaged keys that belonged to a vintage secretary desk. While they had never helped with key repair before, Joe made it is his mission to get the keys fixed for me. A month and a very reasonable cost later I have two perfect keys again! My experience began when I went in looking for a very specific ring that I was having a hard time finding anywhere in the country. The courteous staff at Mark Diamonds offered to custom make the ring for me at a very reasonable price. Out of sheer luck, I was able to eventually find the ring I was seeking in California; however, due to the level of customer service I first experienced and my colleagues have experienced in the past, I returned to Mark Diamonds where they assisted me in selecting the perfect stone to accompany the engagement set I worked so hard to acquire. I genuinely had a great experience with this company and each of their staff (specifically Joe and Christina Mares) that I can understand why their repeat customers praise them so much.

One of my favorite chains broke about 6 months ago. It held one of my most precious lockets and I was so upset it had broken. When I booked a flight back to Albuquerque, I brought the chain with me and hoped that Mark Diamond’s would be able to repair it for me..... I had taken broken chains to them in the past and I was very pleased with their friendliness and willingness to help with whatever was needed. I had hoped they would be able to repair the chain so that I could take it back home with me but I was expecting to leave it and then maybe pay for them to ship it back to me. When I went into the store, Heather immediately came over to assist me. There was a break where the clasp held the chain and she took it over to Joe who looked at it and said he could fix it right now! I was SO happy that my chain could be fixed and I could take it back to Virginia with me! The ABSOLUTE best part was that I was not charged for anything! It was such an easy fix and I am SO GRATEFUL to JOE and HEATHER for all of their amazing support and their professionalism in helping me once again. This is the only jeweler I will EVER go to. I had my engagement and wedding rings (not purchased at Mark Diamonds) resized here after another jeweler (Jared ) absolutely butchered them. Not only was the work done faster than expected, but both rings look completely new - as if they were always that size. Ellen and Heather were absolutely lovely. I can see why this local business has been around so long. Their work was flawless and they made me feel like I was their most important customer. I cannot say enough good things!UPDATE: About six months after I got my ring sized I wanted to go just a bit smaller. The folks here were amazingly kind and had my ring back to me in two days. It looks brand-out-of-box new. Platinum is perfect and the craftsmanship is flawless!

After having a bad experience at another jeweler with our ring, me and my fiance came to Marks Diamonds and the staff was incredibly helpful. They worked really hard to fix a mistake another jewelry store made. The ring Marks Diamonds made for us was perfect and my fiance loved it. The staff is very professional and welcoming. They were never pushy and proposed different options for us. They even told us to think about what we want to do and to come back or call with what we wanted to do. My wife created a custom 3 gemstone ring design, and had it crafted out of country. Upon arrival it was much too small for my finger. Because of the intricate design and engraving on the band, it seemed like making the ring bigger would ruin those designs. Took it to Joe, and he sized it perfectly, and matched up all the design work, so you can’t even tell. Great customer service and work. Will definitely recommend!

I dont usually post reviews but I had such a bad experience with this jeweler. They may do better with jewelry designs and sales but I will not be back, ever, as they basically broke a watch that I took in for face crystal replacement. Ive had the watch for 15 years and have never had any trouble with it besides replacing the battery. Well I dropped it on my floor a few weeks ago and cracked the face so took it to Mark Diamonds for repair. They sent it off to their repair person and I received it back two weeks later. Prior to sending it off they talked me into getting a cleaning on the watch, saying they would clean all working parts. I get it back two weeks later (and $90 later) and go to put it on for the first time and the little pin that sets the time on the watch popped out. So I take it back in and explain what happened, they send it off again to their repair shop, and two weeks later Ive heard no word on the status so I call for an update. After talking with two different employees on various days who each give me a different version of whats going on with my watch (and one mixes up my watch with a different one in the shop) I finally talk with the owner Ellen Diamond who tells me the watch has a worn stem and crown and her repair people cannot fix it nor get the necessary parts for it, and basically sorry too bad but its not an expensive watch so she will refund me or I can get a store credit. Its a Guess watch and regardless of the value its important to me as my Mom gave it to me as a gift and she has passed away, so sentimental value is irreplaceable. I feel that they broke my watch and on top of that their customer service was terrible on my second trip back with the watch and ever since. When I finally picked it up the last time, not working at all, the staff, including Ellen, were very aloof with me and basically just wanted me out of their shop. I think they were angry at me getting a refund back. Im thankful for the refund but they overall did a terrible service and offered no remorse for their actions. Consumers beware!

I honestly have to say that there is no one in town that can meet or exceed the quality and service of Marks Diamonds. I got my engagement ring back in September and it was absolutely stunning! Mark and Ashley helped my fiancee through the entire process to make sure it was the perfect ring and boy it was!!! I got a Cinderella princess cut diamond ring 4.25 carat that just blew me away! The whole team here has been beyond wonderful in resetting my original wedding set. They were pressure-free during the whole process as I came in and out over the past couple of years to get information on different options. Joe takes the time to really listen to what you want. I did not feel any pressure. I am a return customer. I have had a ring custom designed with 3 generations of diamonds. I had an extra diamond and wanted a certain design. I was able to find the design, more or less, in the store. My diamond was able to be added to the purchased necklace and it was exactly what I wanted. Recently I have purchased 2 rings for everyday wear. I was unable to purchase them at the same time that they were on sale, but Joe worked with me, and again, I was able to get what I wanted. The sales staff really is genuine.

Amazing! I went to Mark Diamond’s in hopes of getting suggestions for a couple pieces of jewelry I inherited that I wanted to “re-purpose”. Christina was wonderful and had great suggestions on how to update the pieces so that I would actually want to wear them. So, the process for a custom ring and pendant began, Christina and Joe and the rest of the staff were great. I have never had to opportunity to buy any beautiful jewelry at Mark Diamonds Jewelers but have only had repairs done. I cannot say enough about the genuine service there. The fact that they do all repairs in house is trustworthy enough. Its an all around pleasant experience from the moment you walk in the door with a warm, friendly greeting to the time you walk out the door with them thanking you for your business. There are no hidden agendas, what they quote you and say they can do for you is EXACTLY what you can expect.

Mark Diamonds Jewelers is the best. It is a classy store. Everything is neat and clean; the staff is friendly, knowledgable and caring; and the workmanship is superb. I have taken three items of jewelry into the store for repair. One was an antique ring which had been in the family for several generations; and needed major repair. I was amazed with how great it looked when I picked it up. The repair was not only seamless; but the ring appeared to have been restored to its original condition. The pricing for all three items was reasonable; in fact, for one of them, a necklace, there was no charge at all. All of the work was completed in a timely manner.

A Number of years ago my wedding ring was stolen. Thankfully, it was insured. I had a picture in my head of a unique ring and wondered if they could design it for the amount of money I had? Michelle was amazing at not only understanding what I wanted but in making it fit my budget!2 years ago I had a silver ring sized. Recently it split. I took it in and ask if they could repair it for me. I got a call the next day that the ring was ready and there was no charge! So even though it was two years later, they stood by their work.I highly recommend Mark Diamond jewelers!

I’m getting married in a few days, I was in need of a jeweler who could rhodium plate my Vera Wang wedding ring, as well as polish my fiancé’s wedding band. I had an excellent experience with Mark Diamonds! Im a little slow in writing this review, but it is well deserved. I had gone in on to size a watch with my girlfriend and she noticed a necklace that Mark Diamonds was selling to benefit Animal Humane. She was very taken by the necklace because it reminded her of her dog that she adopted from Animal Humane. I return later in the week to purchase the necklace and Joe Mares helps me with purchase. Well a series of unfortunate events follow and my car gets stolen with the necklace still hidden in the center console, because I was not able to sneak it inside to hide it. Since my girlfriend really liked the necklace, I go back to Mark Diamonds with every intention of buying another necklace. Joe Mares helped me again and recognized me, since it had only been a couple days since I purchased the first necklace. I told him about he week I had been having and that I wanted to purchase another necklace. They didnt have the necklace in the front of the store, but he goes to the back to look for one. He returns a couple minutes later, says that he found one last necklace, hands me the box and says that it is mine to take free of charge! I was shocked because they were willing to give me this necklace for free, when I was more than willing to pay for it. Whereas any other store would have been more than willing to jump on another sale, Mark Diamonds is in a class of their own for the customer service and generosity! It was one of those great moments in life where you know there are still truly amazing people and business out there! I cant thank Joe Mares and Mark Diamonds Jewelers enough for their actions. When it came time to make the wedding band, he helped create exactly what I wanted, even though it was something they had never made before. The end result is perfection and I am so in love with my ring. I’m not one to write reviews, but I had to for them. I can not say enough good things about my experience here. My family is currently in the middle of moving and Joe and their jeweler resized my rings over night and got them to me just before I left town! I was in shock, thinking surely I’d have to wait a week or two and come back to get my rings, but Joe and his family made me a priority. They treated me with such kindness and gave me every discount available on their already reasonably priced services. I was a bit hesitant getting my rings resized in the middle of the COVID-19 pandemic, but Joe and his team are taking all the necessary precautions and were very thorough to prevent the spread of the virus and to keep their customers safe. I cant recommend this place enough. I worked with Joe through the process of getting an engagement ring purchased and he was extremely helpful through the entire process. When we came back to get the band, they worked with the ring maker to get us the best possible price, as well as getting it done with a quick turn around time so my fiancee could have her ring back before the holidays. I took a ring in to be sized, but chose the wrong measurement. I took it back about a month later to be re-sized, and the staff was so excellent, helpful, and understanding. Recently I had the pleasure of meeting Michelle who welcomed me into the store and treated me like a neighbor. I was nervous about getting my gold ankle bracelet repaired since another jeweler had previously tried to fix it and nearly ruined it. Michelle calmed my fears and I was delighted when I picked it up . The repair was flawless; the chain looked like new. Everyone who works there is very friendly and the quality of their repair work is superb. You cant go wrong with Mark Diamond Jewelers.

I worked with Joe on a custom design engagement and wedding band. Our schedules just didnt line up very well and the designs were difficult because I didnt really know what I wanted, but Joe was extremely patient and accomodating throughout the process. He generated numerous CAD renderings until it was just right and my wife and i couldnt be happier.

I wear a Rolex GMT Master. Not because it is a Rolex, but because I am extremely hard on watches. Recently I took it to Mark Diamonds. What a pleasant experience this was. It was serviced and obviously the watchmaker spent a GREAT amount of time working on the cosmetics of my trusted timepiece. It was returned to me in an almost unrecognizable condition. It actually looked new. Not even a single, tiny scratch was to be found anywhere. As an added surprise I actually paid less than my previous service jobs at another, now closed, Rolex dealer in Albuquerque (where it was always returned looking very much like it did when I dropped it off). I wholeheartedly recommend Mark Diamonds for watch services. They have a right to be proud of the work they do on your fine timepiece.

I go to Mark Diamonds for all my anniversary and special occasion needs. I get the best quality stones and gold for my special lady. Joe, Miss B. and Victor aways take care of me and make sure I get the best for a great price and always in fast time. My last order was a last minute special order and the turnaround time was remarkable (2 days) just in time for valentines day and not to mention complimentary roses. Great service and great products. I needed to up the ring size of a family Heirloom in time for a special family event. The staff at Mark’s Diamond Jewelers understood and was so helpful. I was expected up to 2 weeks, I had my ring back in 4 days! Will always use them as my jeweler!

Only reason for the 2-star rating is that Joe willingly refunded my +$300 after a poor watch overhaul service.Originally went to MD to have an expensive vintage watch overhauled, cleaned and brought to working condition. Being in north ABQ and checking their Google reviews, I errantly concluded MD could service my family heirloom. I found MD does not work on watches, rather they farm that out to a Los Angeles person, whom they quoted as being competent and a certified Rolex watchmaker. After 7 weeks of waiting (quoted 4-6 wks), I and another Rolex certified watchmaker found that my watch had not been cleaned (there was dirt and debris stuck to the crystals interior and the dials face and the movement). I had noticed the day I received and wore the watch, there was moisture on the crystals interior surface. Hence we found the back gasket was not placed in its recess and the back was not properly torqued tight (probably why there was moisture inside; yikes!). The second watchmaker also noted the back gasket was dry, not lubricated, and that the movement had not been properly serviced and lubricated as one might assume after an overhaul.I found that the owner, Helen, does NOT know how to wind a mechanical movement watch nor does she know how to set the various functions. She also speaks brusquely and rudely to her staff and customers, of which I *was* one. I would not choose to work under her supervision. Heather is also not familiar with watches, though she will definitely try her best to service your other desires.IF i were going there for other jewelry reasons, I would ONLY deal with Joe, to his credit. Hes the most knowledgeable there regarding watches and the most level-headed. I think hes been there longer than 10 years! Stay away from or walk out if Helen meets you (she owns the store along with her daughter).My experience on the later end at MDs was angering and quite disappointing. Again, I do appreciate Joe refunding my money as it turns out, that should have been done anyway.

I first became familiar with Mark Diamonds about 6 months ago. I purchased a pair of earrings for a gift. While there, I came across an alexandrite necklace set. The set was beautiful and Alexis helped me set up a layaway plan. While in the store making a payment, they replaced my watch battery without delay. I was back on my way in no time. I could not have asked for a better experience at Mark Diamonds! I worked with Joe, who is extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and customer focused. He was able to walk me through every detail of buying an engagement ring (which helped because I had not considered many of the details he pointed out!) Joe was also very helpful when it came time to purchase and insure the ring, something that was a big concern of mine. My husband has shopped for me at Mark Diamonds for over twenty years and found their staff helpful and their inventory beautiful and inspired. It was always pure joy when I opened a gift and saw that box! I didnt go there until recently when my wedding set needed repairs. Michelle and Jami spend lots of time with me while I angsted and tried to decide whether or not to repair my original engagement ring or have a new one custom made. In the end, I decided on custom, and they continued to work with me expertly and patiently each step of the way. They listened to what I wanted, offered helpful and experienced insight and suggestions, and maintained regular great communication with me throughout the process. The ring is gorgeous, and I couldnt be more pleased, and I am deeply grateful to them.

If I could rate over a 5 star I would. I have had 2 interactions with Mark Diamonds Jewelers and I cant say enough great things. I recently took my engagement ring in to be resized, and while the ring hadnt been purchased through them, they went above and beyond to make sure I felt as though I was the most important client they had. When they asked how urgently I needed my work done and they explained they had received a lot of orders recently, I told them it was my engagement ring and they immediately assured me they would get it done as quick as possible so I wouldnt be without it for too long. Without ever asking for them to rush the order, they had it back to me within 24 hours. I understand this isnt always a possibility and I would always value the quality over getting it back to me with a rush job. However, the work was completed beautifully and the staff was incredibly personable, high energy, helpful, and excited for me. I cant wait to shop for wedding bands with them!

I have taken all of my jewelry-related business to Mark Diamonds, and every single time, over the past 5-7 years, I have left disappointed by the attitudes of the staff.First, let me be fair in saying I do not have high-dollar items, but the jewelry I bring in is very sentimental and means a lot to me, regardless of cost. They have worked on a pearl ring- my wedding ring -which was passed down from my husbands great grandmother, as well as an antique diamond and turquoise ring.The pearl ring is silver. I have brought this ring in for resizing or repairs 3-4 times, and EVERY SINGLE TIME get a snide remark from the employee about the ring being silver.The last time I picked it up, the woman took it out of the envelope to show me and the ring was black. She didnt flinch. I asked her if she could possibly clean it . She begrudgingly cleaned it with a cloth, commenting the entire time that its just silver and the reason it oxidized is because its silver, and if it was gold, it wouldnt have happened. I understand my ring is silver. Regardless, I expect the same amount of professionalism and courtesy that any other client should receive. Not to mention, it took *more than 2 weeks to resize.*From the first time my husband and I walked into that store to have the ring originally sized, and the snide comment about the silver ring not being worth much by the employee to now, 7 years later, I have continuously gone back to Marks thinking I just got a rude employee. But it seems as if pearls and silver are beneath this store.Also worth mention, my husband has urged me to take our business elsewhere since we shopped there for his wedding ring. He had 2 simple requests in looking for his ring: all black, and he doesnt want anything with too much of a shine. The employee continuously brought out bright, diamond rings. He reiterated his request multiple times and we eventually left to purchase his ring elsewhere as her irritable final suggestion to him was to just buy one of the rings she was showing him and the shine would wear off the longer he wears it.Our experience here is that the staff does not listen/care about client needs and are very obviously working off their own money-driven agenda.I have given this much thought over the years and have finally caved. I will not take any more of my business there and will urge all of my friends, colleagues, or anyone else to take their business elsewhere as well. I expect to be treated with professionalism and kindness when I enter a store, not to be talked down to, belittled and ignored.The store DOES do good work, however, my suggestion - give your staff some better training on how to treat clients.

Mark Diamond = Above and Beyond - always. When we went to the other local jeweler that can make diamonds a part of your life with a custom idea we were a tad shocked to walk away with nothing but NO - so I ventured across town to Mark Diamond on Paseo del Norte at Wyoming. Upon dishing the deal on an idea for a ring for my wife, they called up designs and set about adding in innovation per instruction. All this while displaying the designs on a large screen for my viewing pleasure. I ordered and surprised my wife with a wonderful eternity ring. So when my watch (a Tag I wear every day) needed a new battery I went there. But this time the replacement and pressure seal didnt go to plan, the watch kept losing time. Instead of making excuses they took it back and redid the job at no cost. Still the watch would miss time :( but again Mark Diamond jumped on the chance to make good and gave the TAG a complete clean and oil at no charge. Cant beat local when shopping is this much fun, especially when they can match online prices.

Efficient, friendly, great work on engraving a piece of jewelry that was a bit of a challenge I felt like a valued customer even though it was my first visit. Great customer service!!

Last month, I had the most wonderful customer service experience at Mark Diamonds Jewelers on Paseo Del Norte & Wyoming.A couple years ago, I inherited my mothers large and bizarre and eclectic collection of jewelry. She loved fleas and yard sale treasures, and thought of herself as a one-woman Antique Road Show, buying and selling and trading all the time. Recently, I unearthed a lovely, very unusual, retro (antique?) 20s-style mens wrist watch from her collection. My husband just fell in love with it. The watch wasnt running and the leather band was aged, flaking, and scratchy on the underside.I hoped Mark Diamonds might be able to help me get it working and replace or repair the band as a surprise for my husband. I knew nothing about where it came from or how old it was. I didnt even know what metal it was nor if the leather on the band was genuine.Id never been in the store before despite passing by it all the time. I am so glad I went! They spent so much time researching and explaining the mysterious watch to me. They worked hard to find the right band for it, checking with all of their suppliers. They pointed out a very very tiny missing part that could have posed a risk for the band falling off. They immediately tested it to see if we could ignore the problem, and set my mind at ease that it wasnt necessary to replace the part to make the watch wearable. They replaced the battery and we celebrated that it still worked after God only KNOWS how many years in one of my mothers jewelry boxes. It looks like Ill be having to get a custom leather band made because the watch and its manufacturer really ARE that unusual and hard to track down.But you can be SURE Ill be going back to Mark Diamonds again and again. That wrist watch was doubly important to me because it belonged to my recently deceased mother and because my husband, who has worn the same watch since I met him, really wanted to wear it. They treated it and me exactly right.PS: Theres more! A couple weeks later I took in another watch thats been in garage storage for 14 years to get the battery replaced so my now teenager could start wearing it. The watch belonged to her birth mother that died when she was an infant. So, again, very sentimental and important. It has interchangeable bands. They put on the band she wanted to wear and replaced the battery. We had dropped it with them while we went next door for a hair appt. They brought it over to us in the salon when done but would not accept payment from me because it didnt make the watch run. The oil inside had dried up and was crusty, preventing it from moving. Instead, they gave me an estimate for cleaning it out and/or replacing the mechanism. Again, the most caring and courteous of treatment for me, my teen, and that special watch.THANK YOU for all the TLC, Mark Diamonds Jewelers!

Well, this has been a long time a-comen....this review that is. I dont even know where to begin!! Talk about being blown away...Michelle and the Gang...Joe (i.e. Pedro) and Alexi...amazing-amazing folks to work with. Sincere, honest, trustworthy...and smart! Alexi is also cute...which never hurts...just saying...I had a project that needed to be fixed a few times and never once did they complain or try to spin any of the issues...they instead, listened and continued to work with me...offering up alternative suggestions until the issue was resolved. Now, mind you...it was all simply my fussiness with the outcome of a particular finish....but again, they werent going to leave me the least bit unhappy....Im not kidding.The project was resolved and to be honest, i couldnt be happier. Seriously Albuquerque, these folks know their stuff and most importantly, they truly care! This is a tough-tough industry, extremely cut-throat and not usually honest....but in my experience, these folks just blew me away. Michelle runs a great business and Joe and Alexi are top shelf partners!Thank you Mark Diamond - I love the ring!
