This place does work under the table. I took a mattress cover to get the zipper line replaced on it. She changed me $20.00 and when I got the mattress cover home I saw that it was not repaired and would not zip properly. I asked her if she replaced the zipper only not the zipper line. She said no. I then asked her if she was able to do the zipper line and she said no and that she did not have zipper lines in stock. She said I would need to purchase the zipper line and then she could do it for $50.00. I asked her for the $20.00 to be refunded since she did not perform the task I paid for. She refused to refund me and then had the nerve to ask me to bring it in so she can fix it after I purchased the zipper lining and she said that she would charge me $50.00. I told her I would not be using her services. Be careful with this tailor shop. They are scammers and work under the table.

I took a bridesmaid dress in for alterations and they did an amazing job! It needed a lot of work but she had it done within a week and the dress looks AMAZING. The business was very professional and friendly. Highly recommend this place for any type of alterations!

My wife took her wedding dress in to be hemmed, 3 days before our wedding day (the dress was shipped and arrived late). The owner of T&T was so attentive and concise. While listening to what it was that needed done, she also offered great suggestions for alterations. She advised that my wife could pick up the finished dress as soon as the next day! When my wife arrived, she saw the surprise the owner had included for no additional charge, a mask to match her dress! Amazing job, great customer care, WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE! Thank you T&T!!!

I needed a button replaced on a denim skirt, it took 2 days longer than I was told to fix it. The first time wearing the skirt the button came off again.

They had a week to work on it, i went in and they just started to work on it. For simple hemming. Lousy rushed handwork and for 42 dollars. Never going back again.

I dropped my bridesmaids dress off here to get a simple hem, after quickly, and inefficiently marking my dress we finished up and she asked me when I needed it by. I told her I needed it a few days before my brothers wedding as the wedding was out of town and I would be traveling. On my way out of town (a day AFTER I requested it to be done) I stopped by to pick it up. Not only had the dress not been altered the owner laughed at me and shrugged when I told her I needed it at this moment and asked why it hadnt been done. I asked for the dress back several times before she finally gave it to me and I left. I took the dress to a known tailor, that I should have gone to in the first place, and while she was measuring me she noted the hem would have been at least three inches too long had T&T Tailoring hemmed it. DO NOT USE THIS TAILOR

I’m not one to write reviews but I feel the need to considering the service I received here. I dropped off a blazer to get tailored 11 days ago. The lady at the front was pleasant and asked if I could pick up the item today. I agreed as I understand she was busy. Today is my wedding anniversary and needed the blazer for an event my wife and I are attending. When I went to pick it up today she asked if I could go shopping for an hour and she would get it done. The problem is that it is already after 3 PM and she just stared at me when I explained I gave her over 10 days to get it done. I’m very disappointed that I agreed to picking it up at a later date and it still wasn’t enough. On top of it I thought it was strange to give someone that much time to do it when they could get the work done in less than an hour. Would it be the same quality? Probably not. I’ll be taking my business else where.

In the past few months Ive had numerous items of clothing (suit jackets, suit skirts, and dress pants) altered at T & T Alterations, and Ive been extremely pleased with all of their work. Im quite picky about alterations, and Ive now had T&T fix some things that had not been done to my satisfaction by a prior seamstress. T&Ts pricing is in line with what Ive paid in the past to other seamstresses for similar work. I will say I wouldnt bring T&T anything that needed to be done immediately, as they have always asked for at least 1-2 weeks when I drop things off with them. I do call ahead before I go back to the shop to pick up, just to ensure everything is ready, or will be by the time I get there. A quick turnaround time doesnt seem to be T&Ts strength. However, I definitely recommend T&T Alterations overall - the quality of their work is definitely worth the wait.

I dropped off a cardigan, a hoodie, and a pair of jeans all with large tears in them. They did such a good job repairing my clothing that I could not even find the original tears without searching very closely

I brought in a wedding dress to have the hem, halter and waist fixed. The waist presented a bit of a challenge based on the layers of top part, which were not conducive to bringing the waist and not the bust in without creating a change in the delicate pattern of the top. Upon trying the dress on post alterations, I found not only was the dress done exactly as I had hoped, it turned out to look better than I had expected. A very fair price for a very tough job done quickly with beyond excellent results!

Fantastic service! I bought a suit for a funeral and it needed the pants shortened and hemmed. I took the whole suit to Theresa at T and T on Friday morning and told her I needed the alterations done for the funeral on Saturday and she not only got the pants done but also took in the jacket and the sides of the pants. All done in one day. Fit perfectly. Extremely happy with the exceptional service and the price was very reasonable. HIghly recommend this place.

I am a satisfied customer and this tailor has worked pretty hard to shorten the time needed to complete alterations. The bad reviews are pretty old at this point. Also, they are kind of unfair because they dont evaluate the quality of work - well, one actually to, but the writing is so bad, I cant understand it.When the negative comments were made, it was obvious that this tailor was a bit overwhelmed with work. I think that it was a challenge for her to get past the point of being sole proprietor working alone, to where additional staff could be hired. She now has other seamstresses and her turnaround time is much better. She did the last alterations for me on time.I just think it is unfair to complain about her command of English and the presence of her kids. I think that this tailor really works hard to do good quality work and succeeds. She does understand english, especially if you make an effort to be clear. So what if her kids make noise when they play - been around kids much? She seems like a good mom to me.

Ive used T&T Tailoring to have more than a dozen items altered. I am very pleased with the work and highly recommend using their services. Before finding T&T Tailoring I tried many other alteration shops. I drive a fair distance out of my way to use this shop due to the quality and friendliness. In 2 years, she has never been late with any of my items. The proprietress does have an accent, but I have never had a hard time understanding her or vice versa. Quality workmanship!

I was not impressed with this place and will not be using them again. I had 4 pairs of pants hemmed there and all but 1 came out too short. I even told them to go longer when measuring and it was still too short. The big thing that bothered me was the jeans. They did not keep the factory cuff on these but rather cut it, folded it, and sewed it. I (wrongly) assumed they knew that you are supposed to keep that cuff with jeans as the manufacturer puts work into making it look a certain way, but alas they did not. Lastly I went in on the day told me to pick them up... more than a week out, and they hadnt even started them yet. I had to come back again to pick them up and they still were finishing them up when I came in. I do not understand all these 5-star ratings here.

I have used them from fixing buttons and sewing leaking down jackets to fitting dress suits. I have always been pleased with the quality. Staff are incredibly polite and kind. I have not found another place in ABQ yet that matches the quality and service so am content to go out of my way to continue my patronage.

Took in some pants to be fixed and a costume. Got excellent turnaround, and great service. The costume especially is a bit of a unique request, being, you know, a costume. She was more than willing to help, very friendly, and it all came out excellent!

My Mrs. needed to alter 4 new dresses. In August 2013 we took the dresses here to raise the waist slightly. She found a great price on some nice dresses but they were not petite sized. She found four that fit her good if you pinch together some material on top of the shoulder. This alteration is usually done by opening the existing seam there, removing some material on top of the shoulder and resewing the seam. The woman does have a bit of an accent but was easy to understand, pleasant and friendly and did a good job pinning the material sticking up above the shoulder to know where the new seam needed to be. She also had them done in one week as promised. When we returned a week later, it was about 17 minutes before she returned to her open and empty shop from outside the store. The negative rating is because for the alteration, she simply bunched up the material on the inside of the dress. It looks like it was inexpertly sewn by hand. My wife noticed this trying on the first dress. There was a bulge on top of her shoulder from where the fabric had been bunched together rather than opening the thread at the original seam, removing unnecessary fabric and sewing a new seam. The woman was insistent that was the proper and only way to do it. In addition to my wife having altered some dresses herself (but we both work a lot and prefer to hire help when we can for various chores), over her lifetime shes had dresses shortened this way in 3 countries and several cities. Before this encounter with T&T Tailoring, she never saw anyone do it this way, simply bunching together the fabric on the inside of the dress and sewing it all together into an unsightly bulge on top of the shoulder. She objected but was forced to pay the 4 @ $12.00 fee in order to get her dresses. She still needs to find a place that does good alterations in Albuquerque as we will never take anything else to T&T Tailoring. On a related matter, when we took in her dresses, I took in a pair of padded leather and Kevlar gloves I find particularly useful and comfortable. They are full fingered and I wanted to remove about the end 1/3 of the index finger on each glove. I asked if she could cut off the end of the index finger on each and sew a small hem on the edge of the leather. She told me it can not be done by machine or by hand, You cant do it, there is no way. Later that evening I did it myself. I dont know what to make of the good reviews on here, unless those were very elementary sewing jobs. Based on our experience with this tailor, we will never go back for anything as we never had this poor craftsmanship ever in all our lives at any tailor at where weve had work done. This includes in various cities in USA, Mexico, Thailand, Philippines Saudi Arabia, UAE and Italy. Update: Been going to FINAL STITCH in a ABQ for years now. A little expensive but always good work.

Great tailor with ideas just a little slow in delivery dates

The only reason I give this business two stars is because the fit of the jacket I took in came out nice (however, that is the primary job of this type of business and can presumably be done at any other place). The jacket came back filthy and I was told by the business that I should take it to a dry cleaner. The price was double of what I was quoted which really upset me. I would not recommend this business to anyone. I came to this business because of the reviews that I read. Hopefully this one can help potential future customers.

Friendly service and reasonable prices make this one of my go to tailoring services. Just know that it often takes about a week for your alterations to be completed.

Was told to come back in 2 1/2 weeks. Dress had not been started on, told to come back in 2 days came back 3 days later and still was not ready. Seems like this is common. Overbooked maybe? Wasted more gas than anything to get here for the $6 off they gave me for the inconvenience.
