Had a wonderful Pedi today! Very relaxing and not rushed!

Was pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness of the salon. It was meticulous and the staff were so welcoming and kind. Lovely place. Pedicure was great. Definitely my new “go to” neighborhood place! So happy I decided to try this salon. :)

Great curated variety of vintage clothes, housewares, fabric, and notions. Plus a friendly helpful owner.

Karen is always friendly and on top of things. The salon is large, clean and efficient. The pedicure came with a sugar scrub and its great. Easy to bring a friend and not feel crowded by other guests. They also cut hair. Definitely check it out.

This is the best place in Alameda. They offer so many services. My pedicure was thorough and they took their time to make it perfect. I’ve tried most places on the island and this is my new go to spot.

Helen does beautiful eyebrow waxing in a natural shape. Good technique and cool hands. I’ve gone to her for my monthly full face waxing for the past 3 years!

I was with my friend and my nail lady did an okay job, she didn’t start a conversation with me but she started one with my friend, my lady was a little rude and i showed her a picture of what i wanted but she wanted to just do her own thing. she also made my cuticles bleed. my friends nail lady was really nice and was talking to her and she did a good job with her nails.

First time coming and the service was great start to finish, I showed her a picture and asked to do something similar my nails look great!! Definitely going there again.

Tammy is the best! She has been cutting my hair for over 10 years. Her prices are very affordable and she always does a great job! Even when I need a same day appointment Tammy will always make the time to see me. I highly recommend Salon Number One!

Ive been coming to see Tammy for almost 10 years. My first experience with her was when she worked at Salon One on Park Street. I was 30 years old and always running late for things. Tammy waited at the salon for 30 minutes after closing time just to cut my hair at 8:30 PM. I asked her to use scissors rather than a buzzer and she gave me one of the best haircuts a guy could ask for at half the cost of what I paid in SF. I am now almost 40 and my brother-in-law and old friends now are long time customers with Tammy.

Never go there for hair coloring. I had my natural light brown hair for 6 years without dying and I’ve cherished it until the day I went to their salon. What I wanted was little bit lighter, and I told them that didn’t turn it into orange color and then finally I got very ugly orange hair color and they dyed again and it turned very ugly ash orange color. It’s really embarrassing me a lot and I have no confident with my hair now and it damaged my hair a lot, also it’ll take me another 5-6years to let it grow. They don’t know what the hair colorist suppose to do, and in my opinion-they think that just mixing colors and dying hair is their job. But no no no, your job is to be known what color turns to what color and change it to what customer actually wants, and that’s how you get paid. After that, they still charged me for that all mess they’ve done to me. ☹️😣

Needed to go to a nail salon and Im picky not all of them our open to design theroy. Wearing latex gloves daily my nail looked warned, sore and exhausted. I incurred damage from nail reworks and 8 hour glove usage; so I toke their advice for a overhall of new nails. Ladies that means removal of the overused old nails. Both salonist were patient during the battle of republic removal of warn nails which can be painful or easy to remove. I will leave it up to your imagination my outcome. Being an artist I always bring my own nail colors due to the salon personal color palatte. After agreeing that my nail colors were fantastic (Ross Store); they were very professional as people traffic started enter. Can you believe that I feel a sleep it must of been the music; later midday it became packed. Yes, I am a tipper. They were very professional and gave advice to a positive nail remedy with out me asking. I hope they see more then one year of nail service. Again, I look for safety from outside solicitors, waiting time, reasonable fees and undisturbed me time. Am I right ladies.

I have to say Tammy and Larry are very nice people and seem to care about there customers. I needed my nails done and decided to try a new shop. It was late in the day, so I took the first person who would get me in right away. To try and make this short, three different things happen as I was on my way to Salon One. Which now I realise the Universe was trying to tell not to go and I wish I would of paid more attention. I have been to many shops to have my nails done. I have had a few times that I wasnt happy with the work they have done, but I really wonder if Tammy is a license manicurist cause the results of my mails shows otherwise. My nails are lumpy, bumpy, not shaped or filed. Some of my nail have clumps of the acrylic. Some r flat clumps and some even on my finger/ cuticle. I knew it was done really fast, but Tammy and I were talking so much that I didnt really pay attention cause I trusted her and I even said how nice my nails look. The lighting there wasnt very good, but when I got home and really checked out my nails owe my was I upset. I just spent $40 to have my nails look worst then when i came in the shop. I was going to go back and ask Tammy if she would fix them for me, but I really dont want her to touch them. Im sure with alot of practice she will be good at doing nails one day.. So I am now looking for a good manicurist😞💅👎✌Pamela

I 💓 Tammy! I walked in close to closing time on a Saturday and not only did she do an amazing mani pedi but she urged her co-worker to come and give me extra massage time! They spoiled me rotten. Tammy also offered to come in on her day off if I wanted to bring in a group. I will be back regularly and will bring my boyfriend for a haircut too. Thanks Salon #1!
