OK to all you who blast and complain about the service. Independent Taxis are independently owned by each owner not a fleet owned by 1 company. Each owner needs to pay to buy and maintain each car and FIND GOOD DRIVERS. That last point is important because insurance companies want drivers over 27 and good records. Owners drive 5 days a week and some do 7 days but do not have drivers for the weekends or for night shift (look at the bad reviews and many people are listing times at night) hence no cabs on the weekends or only 1-3 cars working. The company only has 9 cabs ( as of this time only 8 one was just destroyed by a hit and run driver, check local news) because Youngstown and the surrounding area is a WELFARE city. Not enough money in the area for more cars. The company charges large amounts for fares to other cities. ALL TAXIS COMPANIES CHARGE LARGE FARES FOR LONG FARES OUT OF TOWN. Try a taxi in Pittsburgh or Cleveland and see the rates and service you get. About twice the rate for the same fare distance from Independent. And also drivers get irritated and snap at the customer but you try to dodge other idiot drivers and work 10 hours and see how you feel. Do really think all the dents you see on the car are caused by the driver?

I know they are always busy. They have been around long long time. I just think if they invest more in cars and more drivers you won’t have to wait so long long for a ride

Called this joke of a transportation company at 2:40 p.m. said I needed a ride at 3. Forty minutes later.. still no taxi. How in the world are you forty minutes late?!. To top it off they dont wear their masks violating the state order AND they said they only have 3 cars running today. Excuse me??? Its Sunday and the week of Christmas, and you only have 3 taxis out? What a joke. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS.

Nobody answered the phone so I called a friend and got them out of bed.

I scheduled 2 taxis, same day, both times 25 mins late. Ordered the first one at 2:30 for 4:30, didn’t come til 5:30. Scheduled another one the same night at 10 for 2 am, didn’t come til 2:35. I was sitting in my co workers truck 45 mins after we closed. It’s unacceptable and unreliable.

They take forever to get to you and its cheaper to just take a lyft or Uber

Listen, they do the best they can man, aint nobody perfect.

With Lyft and Uber not be available at the times that I want, I will be using this service more often! The drivers are very professional and nice!

Need to answer they phone and make sure when someone needs them theyre there!!!🤨🤨🤨... They service is very poor to me. They had me waiting for a pick up for 3 hours. I kept calling them. And after so long I called back they stop answering their phone and yes I called a gang of times yet I was waiting for a taxi from 1:34 until 3:00 ... I called and they let the phone ring which means they was ignoring my call. Smh... Poor service!!!!🤨🤨🤨🤨 Got to do better. Ubber gone take over... Smh... Shameful 🤨🤨🤨🤨

I love the drivers for this company but the business itself sucks! How can you be a 24 hour taxi service but have no one available until certain times and even then you have to wait forever to get picked up even if you call over an hour ahead of time. My thing is dont call your self 24 hours if you cant have available drivers.

Poor service from front desk

They told me It was going to cost $120 to drive 22 miles after they told me it would Cost $75. They also called me while the ride was on their way here to raise the price.

Please don’t call this service.I scheduled a ride 30 mins ahead of time and they said ok. I’ll called back because no one came and the women started yelling at me and am loud tone. I said hun “i’m The customer why are you yelling at me. She replied that they didn’t have any drivers that everyone quit. I’m not an hour late for my appointment.

This isnt the first time Ibe had issues with Independent. Dispatch and drivers are cool on the personality side but business wise. They need to be more efficient and effective. You can order a cab a hour and a half before you need it and early morning pick ups you mind as well make other plans.

Ive been riding with Independent taxi for almost 20 years and they have been very nice to me. Help me in and out the cab. Keep up with the great work.

Got off Greyhound bus and needed a ride home, Independent Cab was right there & prices are reasonable

All the terrible reviews are on point. The dispatcher would rather you wait several hours than be honest and tell you the cab is not even close to your pickup destination. Avoid at all costs. Walk, call a friend, take the bus, pray Uber opens up shop in Youngstown eventually.

The taxi comes to my house and takes me where I have to go and usually I dont have to wait long for them to pick me up.

I see their drivers getting 6 packs to go all the time well on duty. Always out in the left lane holding up traffic too. Nice cars too.

At least this cab company would come and pick up 7 guys and take them to Youngstown Crab. The so called cab companies in Sharon Pa. could not be bothered to even send anything. So you got to go else where. The city of Sharon cab companies all two of them must not need business.

Ordered cab @ for 10:30 am pickup around 9:15 (same day) AT 10:30 am no cab had arrived, called same and was told that my phone was OUT OF SERVICE. Worst lie Ive ever heard. A very good company to use of you need a totally unreliable service. Who said only STUPID NO IQ PEOPLE work for cab cos.?????? P.S. Had to give these retards a star or article would not publish.

Dont rely on them to get you to work on time. Called 50 mins before pickup time to be to work ten mins early. Fifteen mins after pickup time I had to take my own car. Which I wasnt going to drive because I was picking up a company vehicle today. But if I had no other way to get to work I would have been screwed. 20 mins after pickup time some stoner sounding guy calls and says( do you still need a ride)? Really? This is your business? Pick a different company because obviously this one isnt dependable.

I called for a taxi an hour and a half before I had to be at work to schedule to be picked up 30 mins before I had to be a work for a 5 min ride. Im now 6mins late for work and no one has showed yet. I called dispatch and got an excuse of they cant empty a taxi. Ive called numerous times and get the same answer and im still late. Ridiculous

This is such a horrible taxi service. I use them as a last resort so I call 2 or 3 hours before I have to be at my destination and their still late.

I called them an hour prior to the time i had to work. i called several times within that hour to check on the status and was told each time the drivers on his way he will have me at work by 2!! The driver pulled into my driveway at exactly 2:02 pm> Than proceeded to take the back route to my work instead of the straight shot on the highway. I arrive 30 minutes late to work and i told the driver i will never advertise for their company at my hotel ever again. Ther driver felt bad and only charged me 16$ As for the dispatcher, you didnt have to lie to me to get my business now you wont get my business or my guests business!!

Called to see how much they would charge for a ride from where my wife and I live in Austintown to the racino in Austintown off of 46. They quoted her $ 25.00 to $ 30.00 . To me that is a bunchf b.s especially since we only live like 10 min drive from where we live. They are way over price considering what customers are saying about their company.

I wouldnt know about the service as they NEVER answer the phone. Then when I call after calling its busy. Its ridiculous when you are calling for a quote or to schedule a ride. Guess Ill be walking when the bus isnt running.

There was a taxi parked outside with his window open and I walking by so I decided to stop and ask him a question about a fare since I had never used this taxi. He literally screamed at me with raised voice Just turn around walk in that building AND ASK THEM!!! Apparantly that building he was talking about was their office. It was a white man with glasses.Something us wrong with this man and this company.

WORST taxi service EVER!!!! We have used them 2 days in a row and both days they were more than an hour late. And every time we call they tell us the driver will be here in a minute.
