Food there is good. Had something I never heard of or had Montgomery pie. Auctioneers move along fast. Bids are electronically saved so theres no waiting time to pay out. Friendly people will return.

Someone stole stuff out of my box. Never was refund or got the item.

I took a lot of stuff there to auction off. A good portion of it was bought. The reason I gave it three stars is because they never told us that they incinerate what doesnt get sold unless they are told otherwise. When I went to pick up my leftovers is when I found this out. Unfortunately, I was too late and they already disposed of my things. Very disappointing.

Items piled together outside, bidders clustered so No one can see whats going on. Two older auctioneers ramble and are slow. Takes forever if your waiting on something you want. Usually leave before what I want is sold out of frustration.

Just wanted to give everyone a heads up who is thinking about selling things here. We arrived there with our items for auction. We were greeted by the owner who was very nasty and rude and acted like he didnt want to take our things. Finally he decided to take them. When we went in there was a woman who also was very rude and nasty. We were unloading and the owner came back out and didnt want to take a few of our things so I politely said Do you not want to sell our stuff? at that point he was a little nicer. I am also in business and would never treat a customer that way. I would recommend if you have things for auction do not take them there. Thanks, Todd Garman. York Pa.

Cheap prices nice people

It has to be one of best auctions that are family has ever patronized ! The Toomey family along with Jeff Sterner and its staff are some of the most humble people that we have met and done buisness with through the years. Lots of integrity!

Had alot of fun they had great items

I really have had a good experience at Toomeys auction. Some people say the staff is rude I have not found that to be true. But if they are have you dealt with some of the bidders they are very pushy and rude, stand around talking where they are trying to conduct an auction. Thanks for a great time every time I get there. Ive tried another auction & didnt like it. I love Toomeys! I love talking to most of the regulars, I enjoy several of the workers/auctioneers. They have been nothing but nice to me. The food is great. The deals are generally great, except on holidays when its busy, which is expected. The only thing I dont like are the rude ones that dont speak English & the buyers leave the door hang open when its cold lol. My wife and I have been buying items at auction to resell for years but never made it to Tommeys until today.We were totally disgusted by the way these people run their auction. My wife won three tray lots of salt & pepper shakers that the auctioneer plainly stated were being sold as a lot.After striking the winning bid (my wifes bid) at which point those tray lots were my wifes property, the auctioneer changed his mind, had the runner take the items back from her and then resold them per pair.This is unheard of. It is VERY poor and unethical practice.The auctioneers also BLATANTLY play favorites. I was trying to buy furniture and the auctioneer would not even recognize my bid until his regular buyers had stopped bidding. This is also VERY poor and UNETHICAL practice.The people who work for Toomeys are also the most RUDE people that we have EVER dealt with at any auction company.To top it off, they charge 35% commission. We are not only buyers but we sell things at auction as well. We deal on a regular basis with four other auction companies and their consignment fee (all four companies) is 20%. That is the standard rate in the business.If you want to buy at auction I would recommend that you Google auctions and find somewhere else to go.We are looking for different auction compa
