Just made my last visit to this location before moving out of state in a couple of weeks. Ive always come to this location in the two years Ive been in Winston-Salem, even when a work transfer made it a little more out-of-the-way than other locations. They have always been fantastic. Theyve really helped me get more life out of my car, advised me of what maintenance I needed and when, and have been great at helping me find coupons! I strongly reccomend all Winston-Salem and great Triad customers come to this spot!Janey, Tevin, and James are the best! Thank you team!

Stay away at all costs! Do not take your vehicle to this chop shop! I brought my truck here to be inspected and was informed that my truck failed due to “mild condensation” in one headlight.An employee named Solomon suggested that I drill a hole in my headlight to allow the condensation to evaporate. Drill a hole in my headlight?!?!…I laughed loudly and left immediately. My next stop had my inspection completed and passed in 10 minutes and also laughed at the ridiculous notion of drilling a hole in my headlight! Stay away from this clown show!

Great service! These guys have always been friendly, knowledgeable, and respectful even when their bays are full. One time when I arrived to get an oil change, someone came out to my car, and let me know they were running behind and the wait would be longer then usual. It doesnt sound like much, but I appreciate it when my time isnt needlessly wasted. Also dont overly push upsales on me.

This is the only one star review I have ever given. My wife went in for an oil change. Tech told her she needed her power steering fluid changed. Never mentioned that it cost more than the oil change.She went in for a $65 oil change and came out $235 later. When I called the manager he said that tech is not here but we follow the Car Fax guidelines.I own a small business. If I come in to do a job and up sell you 4x that amount without mentioning a price...it’s just shady. I bet they don’t treat men that way.

I brought a book to read but didn’t even need it. I was in and out in 7 min for an oil change on a Sunday! Will definitely be back.

They close at 7 and I got there at 6:30 for an inspection and oil change. They cheerfully and efficiently took care of both. As I was waiting I overheard an employee talking to another customer there for an oil change, letting her know that she actually didn’t need an oil change right then. Wow! I was so impressed, they could have easily taken advantage of the situation but didn’t. I definitely highly recommend them.

WOW! That is all I can say.... I was out of town and swung by to get the oil changed, I normally change my own oil but since I was out of town I figured I wouldnt mind paying a little bit more. That is where it started, first I needed synthetic so the cost jumped to $90 then I did need new wipers so they added that plus filters so jumped up to just under $200, way more than I wanted to pay I could have bought the stuff for under $100.

They left my keys in another customer’s car. It took them 2-days to retrieve them. The staff was helpful and professional once they were lost (or else this would be one star). Upper management, however, was less than impressive. I spoke to the owner directly about the issue and he didn’t offer make it right in the end. $55.00 for an oil change and 2-days of not knowing where my keys were.

They lost the key to my wheels and failed to resolve the situation to my satisfaction. I ended up having to take my car to the dealership to repair the situation and the Valvoline staff did not do what they said they would do. They also called me “sweetie” on the phone— unacceptable.

I will definitely be going back to Valvoline at this location. From the initial phone call Solomon welcomed me and was patient with me. When I arrived, a caring female employee asked me what I needed done, and I told her oil change, tires rotated and emissions inspected. She immediately told me they could help. They took some brief information and I took my laptop to do some work while I waited maybe 20 minutes in their waiting area. Jason came to take my payment info and he shared recommendations and was extremely polite and nice. The people here are nice, hardworking, and they care about one another, their customers and what they do. The excellence shows. I will not only be going back, but I will recommend them to all who need car assistance. Great work, Robinhood Valvoline! I will be a repeat customer!

My old man dont trust many people to touch our car, but somehow this Trent guy won my husbands trust and we made Sunday our day to go take care of our car at Valvoline. Last Sunday we show up to find out they took Trent off Sundays. I can guarantee my husband will never go back there now. Its really hard for him to trust a mechanic. I do not know where we will go from now on. Thanks a lot Valvoline.

The blonde young girl was super friendly. Oil changes are a bit expensive here, but I found an online coupon so all was good. Had my air and cabin filters changed. She also recommended so other things and gave me a price sheet. Ill go back when needed.

They were $27.00 cheaper on my inspection than the last place. $13.60 for each vehicle. Less than 30.00 for two of mine & the last place would have been 80.00 for the two vehicles & of course I liked that, I loved it

I come here for every oil change. They are always very quick and friendly. They do suggest when other maintenance is needed but do not pressure for it to happen that day. I also appreciate checking other fluids during the oil change and topping off at no additional cost. I highly recommend this location if all you need are quick, routine maintenance items.

Affordable and super fast service

I usually change my own oil these days but if Im in a hurry I will usually go here . Curtious staff as well last time I checked. I remember in December of 2018 I began to have a major oil leak . I drove by their facility and saw that my oil filter had came loose. They tightened it and topped off the four quarts of oil I had lost for only $8.75 . Full Synthetic I might add too . I dont know if thats a usual buissness practice but I remembered and appreciated the staff going above and beyond for me. Also this is my usual place I get inspections at . They are very quick about it. New place down the road gave me a hard time. Ill remember to get that done here next time .

Quick service as is with most valvolines, and as should be but over charge by far for oil changes. Same oil change and everything at honda dealer is $50 after taxes and all and $85 here at valvoline. It was same thing for my audi it was cheaper to being it to the dealer.

I have now had two extremely disappointing experiences at this location. The first, they failed to close a valve after my oil change, causing all my oil to slowly leak out, which turned out to be an expensive fix with my regular mechanic. When I brought the issue back to the store, they looked at my paperwork and said the valve had been check. Clearly it had not been and they wouldnt admit the issue was their fault. The next time I went, it took two hours to get my oil changed (which I was fine with because I had come at rush hour), but when I was done, I paid left, and half an hour later they called me to say my card had been declined. I had to drive back across town to pay for my service, after I had been informed I had been good to go. If they had taken a look at the computer screen before I left, they could have saved me an additional hour of my time. Again, I felt blamed for their mistake. I WILL NOT be returning to this Valvoline location, nor probably any location for oil change services again.

I have a 2003 Honda Pilot with nearly 300k and wouldn’t consider taking my car elsewhere for an oil change. I find this staff courteous and efficient, and able to answer any question I have. In particular, I have a “temporary” oil plug in my oil pan (because I’m not about to shell out for a new oil pan on this dinosaur of a car). Lately I’ve had an oil leak and I took Old Bess in for some trouble shooting. The staff was able to diagnose and fix my problem, and had me on my way within 15 minutes or so. I’d give 6 stars if they would let me. Thanks guys!

If you have an expensive car brand, I don’t recommend. Felt like I was charged double for half the service. I drive an Audi but it’s old and worth $6000, I don’t make much money at all. Charged me 88.59 for a regular full synthetic oil, when I specifically requested no Max Life or High Mileage. Full synthetic 5w-30 oil change normally costs about $40 for me. I pointed this out and they shrugged it off. I asked if they checked transmission fluid and they said yes even though I watched them working the whole time and never saw anyone check it. I can’t promise that they didn’t, but since I didn’t see it and I was already being charged double for the oil I am suspicious. When I questioned the price I was given quick, vague answers and ushered out.

Very dissapointing customer service, arrived 30 mins before closing for an inspection, was told it would be about 30 mins which was no problem but at the end of the 30 mins I was told they were closing and to come back tomorrow. Would have preferred to be told up front if service wasnt available rather than wasting my time.

Recently had an oil change at this location. They put on the wrong plug and crush washer and then used a vice grip to tighten this incorrect part, resulting in oil leakage. I took the car to the dealership because the check engine light kept coming on and I thought I had an oil consumption issue. Dealership informed me of this shoddy workmanship and took photos so I could go back to Valvoline for reimbursement. Called Valvoline Manager, Robert Granberg. He told me there was nothing he could do and that he would not reimburse me for the damage ($87.13.) He also would not give me the name of his manager or address for me to file a complaint. Luckily everything is documented and I have the time to pursue this further. The shoddy workmanship at this station could lead to a lot more damage than what happened to my vehicle and you should know that they will not stand behind their service! After posting this online, I was called by another manager who threatened me with a suit if I did not take my review down. He did not want to hear any of the details about the issue nor did he ask any questions to try to understand what happened. A call to the Valvoline Headquarters customer service was useless because they appear to have no control over their franchises and told me that the area managers have control over their own customer issues. So basically, there is no recourse when a station creates a problem in your car unless you want a legal battle.

I had always had my oil changed here and I noticed strange problems with my car (2009 Honda Civic with automatic transmission). The car would randomly slip out of gear when driving, it would rumble like crazy when idling, and it would make a horrible groaning sound. For a long time I thought it was a problem with the transmission. I took it to the Honda dealer and they were unable to figure out what the problem was. When my oil change indicator came on, I decided to change the oil myself, just to learn how to do it (I did not know that this was the problem at the time). I used Pennzoil Platinum and a K&N oil filter. When I was driving right after changing the oil myself I noticed that all of the problems were now gone. It has now been about a month since I changed the oil myself and the problems have not come back. From now on Ill change my oil myself. I still get the car inspected here and other services like batteries have been OK.

Customer Service was mechanical and general. The employee talked so fast I couldnt process what he was saying. He seemed very uninterested in me as a customer or in me comprehending what he was saying. Really sad because the business is close to my work.
