Been customer for years. Husband & I with 2 vehicles. Never missed a payment except ONCE! Went in right away once I realized it. I thought it would be better to cover everything & paid it up till April. OVER $400! And AFTER that, I find out I have to wait FOUR days to even see IF the policy will be reinstated. Then Im told other companies would have just did it right then or looked up another policy & given me a binder to show I was covered & made sure I had insurance right away. My husband works & now have no way to drive to work. I have custody of 2 small kids. And now no way to pick them up or take then where need because my insurance company wants to claim theres nothing that can be done but for me to wait to see if my policy gets reinstated or not. I see now what a mistake I made by giving them all that money. I have a bad feeling Im out $400. Seems they should care more about their long time customers. Doesnt matter anymore if it gets reinstated or not. We are looking & will be getting new insurance with a different company.

Allstate generally has a good reputation for helping you out in an accident workout giving you a runaround. However, I got tboned by someone who ran a stopsign into a high-speed road with me having right of way on the high-speed road.This seriously damaged my motorcycle which is an antique Karachi Police 1000 motorcycle.The lady who hit me was uninsured, and I have everything but gap coverage on the bike because I open it out right, so the bike needs gap coverage like it needs a screen door. So I was covered.This bike is my livelihood as I use it for funeral motor escorts, VIP motor escorts, and security. The claims person my agent assigned acknowledged that I was covered and will be paid to get it taken care of.The frame is not bent and its just a few parts that needed replacing.First, the adjuster that was sent out listed the damages as being 4 times what I could have gotten all the parts for... Brand New... (And while they bike is an antique, every last part was being manufactured up until 2015 so finding brand new parts is easy). It was also twice what I could buy a new one for. So they wanted to total it.I wasnt about to let them total it. I started buying parts while fighting them for 2 months, the entire time I was out of work.I repeatedly sent them an invoice for less than the stated value and they kept giving me a runaround anyway. I swear it was worse than doing business with Geico.Finally I got the money, and was able to buy the last few parts that I couldnt afford before, all used, nothing new unless it was a trivial cost. Bt now Im losing my house because I was out of work.If theyd bothered to send me the money right away, Id still have my house. So Im seriously considering retaining a lawyer and suing for lost wages and the house which only had 9 months more payments left on it.
