Daniel found his calling for sure. Hes a true artist. The cut was so skillful that it looks as good every day (with minimal work) as it did the day he cut it. He also does a great job cutting my sons hair. Would highly recommend!
The man from Iran, dont know his name, gave me one of the worst haircuts in my life. Of course, right after he dryblew my hair right after cutting my hair,it looked alright. Yet, you only know if your haircut is good after you wash and brush your hair the next day. RESULT for now, 2 days later - haircut has not shape or decent layering.... I thought the process of licensing hairdressers would protect me here, in the US, from unskilled hairdressers. That is not the case. I will have to go and take a chance with somebody else((( Terrible experience. I studied in university for 5 years and my daily pay is about what he makes in two hours.... Amazing paradox. For some people such haircut would feel okay, I suspect, but I know what a real good haircut is. I wish I hadnt gone there because now it is even worse than before I cut my hair there. (((( Overall the place gives an impression of becoming too shabby. It is time to replace the armchairs for customers. They look dirty and too old. The cloak that he put over my neck to protect from cut hairs gave an impression of being dirty and old and between my neck and the cloak there was plastic BAG for protection from water... If you, guys, dont kknow that there should be a kind of clean disposable (used just ones for one customer) collar and they are probably sold in every special shop for hairdresser, this is the hint from me. Sad. I would ask for a refund but I look at my hair in the morning and the only thing that I want is to forget about that experience.

Daniel gave me a beautiful cut today. I came in with hair in desperate need; I havent had a cut in over a year. He listened well to what I wanted and did very skillful work and consulted me with any changes that came up during the cut. Its exactly the experience I expect of a high-end salon.

Its a 7 year old product; Im not sure if you are aware but you sell products that go on the skin and face, and just because I didnt have a bad reaction, doesnt mean that another wont.This is not only because you are refusing to reimburse me, but because people should be aware of your lack of care for your clientele or the very Aveda Brand you carry. Even your reply to my review is a joke; because it didnt harm me. Also, you strive to take care of your customers, but I guess all your customers, except this one. You didnt know it was expired? Horrible customer service, profiting off old product and no interest in doing the right thing. I’ve been purchasing their products for 20 years and this is not in line with the brand at all. It’s a shame they had to recover for his bad business practice, and although they wholly agree I should be reimbursed, they can’t do anything because it’s a franchise.I have no knowledge of his styling skills but I’d be cautious as to what you buy, use or receive from him, that has contact with your body. He asked me for the product back, probably to resell, who knows. Disgusting business practice. I do not recommend at all.
My hair looks and feels fantatastic thanks to Daniel. I would strongly recommend going here if youre looking for great hair coloring and styling at a reasonable price. I love the location as well.
I went in for a Balayage, paid $250 for it (which is insane in itself) and essentially received the worst highlight job I have ever had in my life. I was there 6 hours total day 1 as the stylist tried to repair the green and orange tones in my brown hair by reprocessing over and over. There was a giant junk of color in the back which you can see in the photo, just technique wasnt good either. There were portions that apparently started to turn green, per the stylist and she stopped in the middle of the process to wash those sections off and finish me over the sink. Thats a first definitely. She toned 3 times in that 6 hour period to try and repair the colors in my hair. I left finally with wet hair as I didnt want her to even attempt drying, and told her I would see how it looked in the am.I want to note, she was very nice, and had the salon handled this appropriately and honestly, I would have just accepted the mistake and not left a horrible review. They did not however.I had to call them the next am because I was so horrified. I went in that evening for Daniel, the owner, to review and fix. The manager and Daniel both concurred my hair was greenish blond, orange, etc. He blamed my hair for the mistake essentially saying it lifted differently in different areas and because its textured, blah blah. He gave me an all over dye job as he said that would be the safest way to repair, so my medium brown hair was now super dark almost black brown. Mind you I went in for highlights because its summer and I wanted lighter hair! My hair was also fried and curl pattern ruined from a conditioning treatment he applied due to the over processing. The dye job was also done over a sink with a squirt bottle like something I could have done at home?I told them at the time because I am not one to complain unless catastrophic, that I would pay for a all over dye job (which I shouldnt have done to begin with considering what occurred), but to try and meet in the middle. I also said however, I am not paying for a $250 one color dye job and I wanted a refund. He agreed to it and said No problem, of course.Since then I have been dodged, calls not returned, not picking up during business hours??, etc. (Excluding 2 calls placed - 1st being the day my credit card company called them, and the 2nd being a message left saying that the coloring he did to repair THEIR mistake and the conditioning treatment I DID NOT REQUEST, was equal to the $250 so no refund would be given??)I had to file a dispute with my card company which is the first I have ever done. I supplied phone records to show my 8-9 phone calls to their 2. I called during business hours to get voicemail, or I spoke to the stylist who even agreed I needed a refund, but coincidentally said the manager was never around. She was nice and apologetic, but just unfortunately not experienced enough to handle my hair.I have always liked Daniel, but as a salon owner, how do you not refund such a large amount when the customer comes out with green and orange hair. Very disappointing.I do not recommend visiting this salon, as they lack integrity and honesty to stand behind their services. This is the only negative review I have left, but the level of dishonesty was unbelievable to me. I have never had a salon that didnt want the customer satisfied.I then had to pay another $300 at another salon to have them do correct highlighting, which they did and now my hair looks great. Despite them acting as if my hair was the problem?? The salon that did correctly and studied with Aveda (De Rouge being an Aveda salon), said that what happened and what I was told as the reasoning was bs.Steer clear!Update: My credit card company has since refunded the money as they found them at fault as well!

How great it was to see Daniel again in his sparkling, relaxing new salon in adorable Oldtown Winchester. Like so many of us, I was desperately in need of a haircut. But, since I don’t let anyone except Daniel cut my hair, that meant nearly a two-hour drive from DC. IT WAS WELL WORTH THE TRIP. As always, Daniel executed a flawless cut, exactly what I requested. He was super-careful to make sure both of us were protected from any potential Coronavirus danger. As a former New Yorker, I went through a long line of the most celebrated hairstylists. Not one was more skilled at his or her craft than Daniel Salehi.
I have been going to De Rouge Salon for over 10 years. Definitely the longest I have ever had the same Stylist. I have never been happier with my hair. Finally a place that does what you ask plus they use Aveda all natural products. Try them! You wont be disappointed!
I absolutely love this salon. The people are friendly, attentive and helpful. The atmosphere is relaxed and inviting. I always leave perfectly satisfied with the service I have received. For my most recent cut and color, I waited almost 6 months because I live in Chicago, but I knew I was going to be in the area and really wanted to get the kind of quality service I have come to expect from Daniel at De Rouge. I was not disappointed! Totally worth the wait. I am willing to pay for really great hair and I like knowing Im going to leave feeling like Ive gotten my moneys worth. I get that kind of satisfaction from De Rouge every time. Daniel is the kind of professional that has the confidence to make you feel instantly at ease and he has the skill to back it up. He is equally as adept with my best friends naturally curly locks as he is with my straight, fine hair. Hes fantastic and this is a lovely salon.

Ive been searching for a good place to have my eyebrows waxed in town for years. I finally found Ruby at De Rouge and Im so happy! The salon is very pretty and everyone is extremely nice and professional. Ruby does an excellent job. Having my brows done by an aesthetician is a much better experience. Ruby takes her time and its so relaxing and pleasant. My brows look great! I highly recommend going to Ruby at De Rouge.
Friendly, talented and affordable. I get a precision cut, and Daniel spends the time to get it right every time. He doesnt rush and it is amazing. I have never received so many compliments on my hair. They are also great when I bring my children in, always making them feel welcome. The environment is relaxing. I also love the aveda makeup selection!

Would not recommend. lies about his prices. kids haircut on the website is 15$ and on the card they use to advertise other services but he refused to honor either and changed 40$. This is for an EIGHT year old. will never go to him again.
Its scary when you have to find a new hair designer. I walked into this salon and figured I would come out still on the hunt for a hair designer. I LOVE MY HAIR!! It not only styles correctly the way I wear it, but it styles the way I wear it easily!! I am so excited to have found someone I can feel confident with to go to! Next visit....COLOR....cant wait!!
Every month, I go to Ruby for a facial and reflexology. Each time, the experience goes beyond my expectations - I leave refreshed and restored and my skin glows. The Aveda products are beautiful. I have never had a bad experience at this salon. Ive had hair cuts, colors and highlights done by Daniel and walked away every time totally delighted with both the quality of the work and the service I received. They are a top notch Salon and I highly recommend them to anyone looking for great service, guaranteed quality, reasonable pricing and excellent products (they carry the Aveda line).

Why are no reviews less than a year old? I left a review 4 months ago. Daniel was the only stylist and he paid no attention to what I wanted. So, cut and color both seriously wrong.

This is the best salon in Winchester. When you go to an Aveda salon, its an entire experience. Daniel cuts my hair and hes a master. He really goes the extra mile to make you feel beautiful when you leave that salon.
Wow, so many bad reviews! I had a great experience! I just moved to the area and was looking for a new salon. DeRouge was the first salon I called and I made an appointment with Lance. He did exactly what I asked for. Highlights and cut were perfect, and the price wasnt as bad as I thought it would be.
Daniel, Master Stylist and salon owner, did a great job on my cut and color. I have been to Aveda salons all across the country and De Rouge is another great experience. Highly recommend!
From the moment I walked in I saw how beautifully decorated it was. Daniel greeted me and made me feel so comfortable. He gave the run through about the plan for my orange mess(bad hair color). He brought out my natural color with a few highlights. This is the best my hair has ever looked, and the cut is amazing too. I was so intrigued to hear that all of the Aveda products are all flower/plant based which made me fall in love with this salon even more ! I received a complimentary coffee in the cutest mug, was offered chocolate, and even a complimentary hand massage. WOW is all I can say. Never been to any place this wonderful before, and wont be going else where from now on ! Thank you Daniel and Ruby for making my experience so special !!!
The salon is a lovely quiet place that provides excellent haircare and skincare. The pleasant owner provides outstanding services, including skincare services and Adveda products. Highly recommended!
Didnt even get to visit this place and they still gave me a bad taste in my mouth. My mother-in-law had a gift card to here that she wasnt able to use up before they moved out of state. She gave it to me to use and enjoy. I called today to schedule two spa sessions for my spouse and myself. The woman on the phone informed me that the e-gift cards expire a year after purchase (which isnt stated anywhere on their website OR the gift card). Not only that, but she also informed me that they dont have anyone to do the spa services that are advertised on their website! They seriously need to update their website and inform customers at the time of purchase that the gift cards expire after a year. Theres $105 down the drain. Thanks for nothing, De Rouge. Im new to the area and on the market for a new salon, but I guess Ill be continuing my search.

I am having the worst luck getting anyone who knows how to cut my 5yo sons hair. I read great reviews about this salon and prices looked reasonable. I sent my husband there from Charles Town today...he walked in and they turned him away! Said they dont cut kids hair. The website gives a price for CHILDRENS haircuts. My husband was unaware that the website had this information since I was the one who found the place or he might have said something. Instead he is going across to Great Clips where the employees he spoke with told him to go. Hopefully they wont butcher it like everyone else. Very disappointed.

I moved into the area from Fairfax City and I have been going to De Rouge Salaon in Winchester for 4 years. It is an Aveda Salon and truly lives up to the Aveda reputation of incredible talent, professional service, and quality in every way. From Hair care (includes cuts and color!) eyebrow waxing, facials, etc. I’ve done it all! I always go away feeling like a million dollars. The staff makes me feel like “part of the family”. De Rouge never lets me down. I HIGHLY recommend this salon to all.

HE CUT OFF ALL MY HAIR!! My hair is shoulder length!! Ive never had hair this short in my life!! I cant stop crying! Do not go here!
Sucks that this is the only place who sells aveda products in my area. I will just order it online for now on.. I drove an hour to see they are closed... yet according to the website and on the door say 5pm on Sundays .... but that cant be true when I was here before 5pm and the lights are off and doors locked . Might want to call before you come to this place. Unprofessional way to run a business.
I scheduled an appointment to have a couple colors put in my hair by Lance. Needless to say that didnt happen I came out with a root touch up and my hair chopped up. I have to go to another salon and have them recut what he messed up. I end up paying 145.00 for a root touch up and the worst cut of my life. I hand long layers and when I got home I had really short layers and my hair wont even lay the right way. Sad thing is I told him I only wanted my ends trimmed thats it! I would never recommend this place to anyone!!!

When I went here for the first time I thought it looked like a nice place and I decided to go out and try something new, so I scheduled an apointment with Lance and one for my husband who got Daniel. I wanted a ombré look with my natural hair fading into my dyed blonde better so I didnt have a halo around my head from growth, the day of my appointment I was an HOUR early and they had no other clients that day becides one other lady the whole day and my husbands hair got cut by Lance and looked fantastic for $25.00 but mine on the other hand was done by the store owner David and looked no different than when I first came in! My hair reaked of that salons all natural product for weeks on end! The pathetic part was the blonde receptionist was constantly sexually biting her lip at my husband even after I said we were married,little hussy. David was a complete nut case and that girl was beyond irritating, Lance was the only one who I actually wanted to be seen by and I got screwed out of $175.00 for nothing being visibly done. this review shouldnt even be worth 1 star more like a half
