There is a new employee thats very strict. You are better off going to the help hub at the Harrleson center or Salvation Army. A couple of people I knew was kicked out with no explanation. The new employee is very ruthless and ugly. Please dont ask for help its a big waste of time. My friend is in fear for her life and they wont do anything to help her, her ex is very abusive too. They used to be very helpful until the new girl showed up.

Open Gate Domestic Violence Shelter and Services is a blessing to New Hanover County. The staff is readily available to meet with individuals. They are informed, caring and steadfast in assisting individuals going through domestic violent circumstances. There are court advocates to help answer questions and assist in the process of filing exparte orders, they will also accompany victims on their court date. This agency is a cornerstone for support, guidance, education and counseling of those affected by domestic violence.

The staff is awesome. They genuinely care about you and will help in anyway they can.
