I am thrilled with how my hair turned out after going to the cosmology school. I believe Sara is the one who did my hair. We went with a more natural color and some highlights around my face with a slight shadow root. And a lovely trim/style. I was seriously nervous at first but I could not be happier with the end result. These ladies and gentlemen are learning but they are supervised at every turn to ensure they are in the right direction. I will absolutely be returning with my daughter to have her hair done. And the best part, salon quality with great prices!!!Thank you!!

When I moved here a few years ago I decided to use College of Wilmington salon services until I found a hair stylist. It’s been almost four years and I still use CoW. The service is great and the prices are beyond reasonable. The students are well trained and lovely and the staff is the best.

They get two stars because the actual massage is excellent. Unfortunately their front desk staff leaves much to be desired. They have been short and unfriendly on multiple occasions. A few years ago (Id say 2014-2015) they had a wonderful woman working the front desk. I used to get a massage every other week. Since she left Ive taken my business elsewhere because of the attitude of the front desk and how difficult it is to get an appointment. On my most recent call I was told there are absolutely no appointments for more than a month. Ill pay more money for availability and a good attitude. As I read their reviews it seems the front desk staff and their attitude are a problem for other people as well. Its also clear that it will not be changing. Its a shame. I used to recommend them to everyone.

There is nothing that I enjoy more than a good massage. I had moved to Wilmington several months prior to discovering the College of Wilmington and my only regret was that I had not discovered it sooner. I appreciated the warm greeting I got when I entered and I appreciated their efficiency. I was introduced to my massage therapist within minutes of my arrival and I was delighted that I never had to sit and wait. Chrissy, my therapist, was diligent in finding out any medical history I might have had and I was most impressed with the questions she asked me regarding the type of massage I preferred. She could not have been more professional and of equal importance, she listened. She massaged me exactly the way I wanted; relaxing and therapeutic. What I found particularly awesome was, although I had not told her about a particular problem I was having with my back, as she began the massage, she discovered it on her own. When she pointed it out, my naive response was, How on earth did you know that? Next time Ill know not to conceal anything!!! The massage was divine. I had only one comment, when my time was up: I wish I had more body parts. Thanks, Chrissy for a job well done; thanks to the school for having her a part of your wonderful organization.

The price increase here seems way too high. Was not informed of the price increase until it was over and time to pay. In the past I’ve gotten a full head of highlights here for $40 (plus a tip) several times and it’s been a blessing. At that price if there is a mistake it’s usually something small that I can still afford to fix. This time I was charged $55 plus tip for partial highlights when I wanted a full head, not an easy fix, and I’m going to have to pay more to get it corrected. Cape Fear’s hair school changes $35. It’s not worth the risk when you can when you can go to a reputable salon for a only a few bucks more.**********************************************Owner, so your supplies cost more than every other hair school? And you have no sign anyway or update stating your prices increased (by 33% and higher than any other hair school, just saying). You have a one page small print price list on the reception desk sitting in a picture frame that no one sees until they are going to pay. You should tell your returning customers before that may not know first. And you shouldn’t still charge people as much as a salon when their hair gets messed up past a certain point ....and if raise your prices too much than your students won’t be able to finish what they need to graduate ..

This school is amazing! I graduated from the College three months ago and have already obtained my License to WORK in the state of NC! I am also currently employed as a cosmetologist! The College of Wilmington provided me with the education to successfully pass the state certifications and become employed as a hair dresser! I recommend this school to everyone! They did EXACTLY what they promised!

I recently went in for a cosmetology service (I wanted my hair dyed) and I absolutely loved my experience! I went in initially not knowing what I wanted to do with my hair, just knew I wanted a change, and the students/staff were so helpful in helping me decide what I want. I am also mixed race, so I have a difficult hair texture. Not only did the student give me a great hairstyle, they accommodated my hair needs perfectly! Will definitely visit again!

I received a great education from amazing instructors. If you are serious about learning how to be a cosmetologist, this is the place to go! It has a very busy clinic floor to teach you how to work on all types of hair. I had a very positive experience here. In order to be a successful cosmetologist, you must work and study very hard. Its not an easy job!

As a recent graduate from College of Wilmington, and a student that struggled to be successful in high school academics, I found complete success in my experience with the College! My instructors were awesome! They were available for questions and extra help any time I needed it! After my graduation I sat for the NC Licensure Exam – and passed with a 95%!!! Because of my success academically, I landed a job with Carmen and Carmen! Thank you College of Wilmington for my academic success and gainful employment within the community! It was a wonderful experience!

The faculty, staff and owner are very professional and run a top notch educational facility! I have two close friends currently attending the Cosmetology program and they are nothing but happy with their experience. I myself, have received services in both the cosmetology and massage clinics and have always been pleased with the outcomes. I have two daughters and am hoping this is the college they choose to attend!

Great environment with amazing students at your service but as far as appointment scheduling, Terrible! Either they need a new data base or better receptionist. Out of my five scheduled appointments I’ve only experienced one session. The rest of my appointments they couldn’t find & continue to reschedule me once again.

My step sister graduated last week and she absolutely loved her experience! Her instructors and staff members were there to support her and give her the very best educational/training experience! As someone who watched my sister grow and gain both confidence and excellent hands on training....I can say with certainty...this is the BEST COLLEGE for career training and education!

Ive been here more than once just for a simple roller set and while I understand they are learning,I thought roller set was pretty simple. I guess not i will not be returning its been bad to say the least every time Ive gone. Also they wanted me to pay this last time, my hair was horrible and still wet! Im sure they wouldve tried to do it over but was very upset by then and just wanted to go. The teachers were walking around they saw it didnt look good.

This school is a joke! Jack Leg operation. Staff is very unethical and has no problem lying. If you want exaggerated drama ask for Shannon Hodges. All my friends told me the same thing. I should of listened to them. EDIT 10/27/17 : WOW, PLEASE read the elaborate excuse for justifying the blatant lousy business ethics. Over 30 reveiws and the majority are negative. And only how long fleecing the community. DO YOUR HOMEWORK before spending that hard earned tuition at this school. The daily edit to the owners response are comical.

Just drove all the way down to get a massage from a student in the middle of my only day off only to be told sorry, students cant massage pregnant women. I understand this is their student policy only NOW, but it was only after being told congrats by the receptionist, led to the massage room, and discussing my massage with the student. I wasnt told anything until the supervisor knocked on the door as I was getting undressed. The supervisor also told I shouldnt be getting a massage until the 3rd trimester anyway! This is my second pregnancy and I told her I have gotten them routinely during my first pregnancy and she then scolded me saying, well, you SHOULDNT have in a very snotty manner. The reason I came in the 1st place was to relieve stress and here this lady is scolding me like a child making me even more stressed. She then told me I shouldnt have told them I was pregnant! She said I should have lied and they still wouldve done the massage. Unbelievable!!Update: only after reading the owner response I find out even their licensed therapist dont do pregnancy massages? Funny since the supervisor offered to reschedule me with one of their licensed therapist on another day even after telling me I shouldnt get a prenatal massage! It shows you the lack of overall unprofessionalism they have. Perhaps they need to let their entire staff know about this policy. Glad to take my business to Miller Motte where they FULLY train their students and staff in all areas of massage and have their act together.

I went there for a whole year. I went through so much going to this school. I cant even Lie I came in contact with a few great people going to this school. As far as school itself I had to teacher myself after my teacher left. Overall I would really want people to do a deep back ground into.the school before going. Speaking only for myself and from my experience I would not recommend going to this school unless you do a deep back ground on the overall school and the owners behind it.

Don’t rely on this place to keep an appointment. I scheduled twice, once with a licensed massage therapist and once (for my husband and me) with students and both times the school cancelled. If I could give 0 stars I would. This school is all about the money, they rope you in with we care about your education and we want you to succeed with big smiles on their faces, but as soon as you sign the papers and they receive whatever funds you are giving them, all that fades away real quick. My first time in class it was already drama, unnecessary drama. Please do not attend this college I regret ever coming here. No reliable resources, you wont receive all your textbooks on time/or at all, the higher ups dont care about problems going on in the classroom. One big mess of miscommunication and unnecessary stress. Youre better off at CFCC, Miller Motte, or UNCW you might have to pay more, but it is sooo worth it.

I scheduled an appointment for noon, got a reminder call that it was at 1130- When I corrected the receptionist and replied with it is at 12 She said well thats not what we have, so do you want to keep it or cancel it? I rearrange my whole schedule. I get there the girl takes me back and says your pregnant? I said yes? I told the person who scheduled me she walks out and comes back and says sorry we need a drs note and noone else can massage you today. The lack of communication in this place is absolutely INSANE. What an embarrassing establishment. WILL NEVER recommend to anyway.
