Very clean and friendly atmosphere. I have been a member to several gyms, this is by far my favorite one. Leah is a wonderful manager and all of the other staff are so friendly and helpful. Truly an amazing experience.
I recently got back to the gym again and I really like the changes in the gym. It needed some different changes. The staff is much more friendly than previous and the gym is much more cleaner. The men’s room could use some serious help though.However what I have noticed recently is that there have been some people walking around with absolutely no masks on or they just hang from an ear. This troubles me because I love going to the gym and working out. I work out at 5am to avoid crowds and people who feels masks are not required. I would like to give them the benefit of the doubt that they forgot them etc. but this was not the first incident I have noticed. Thanks for your time
Absolutely love it here being going for about 3 weeks now and it’s very nice. Staff is very pleasant, locker rooms are clean, has any piece of equipment you could possibly need. Overall great place!

Open and 24 HOURS!!! I’m here at midnight. The 2 guys here were great and were cool. Great hospitality and brand new treadmills!!! Never seen them at any retro and i travel all over the east coast. 10/10
My experience at Retro has been Awesome I the best and painful trainer Stephan we thank you for your committment to better physical conditioning of our bodies, no pain no gain. The protein shakes are the best, the energy when you come to Retro feels great love it.
The atmosphere is not too intense and it isn’t too crowded. I get an excellent workout done in a reasonable time b/c I don’t have to wait for equipment. The personal training is intense!

Management is extremely rude and unprofessional. Leah Burdsall (GM) blatantly targeted and threatened me during my workout, threatening to kick me out and cancel my membership for the same “compliance” issue that she jokes with other members about.She approached my boyfriend and I twice using a very aggressive and disrespectful tone to tell us to keep our masks above our noses. We had on the masks, but it is hard to breathe while exercising, so it was under our nose, at the moment. The second time, she says “This is my third time asking you... put your mask on or you’re out of here!” I asked her one to please back up because she was within 2 ft distance of me (which she refused to do) and I mentioned that her approach was unnecessary and that’s not how you speak to people, let alone paying customers. She responded by saying “You’re going to put your mask on or I’m going to kick you out and cancel your membership.” (Retaliation for me asking her to follow the same compliance policy and to speak to me professionally) I mentioned how she just joked with another member about the same situation and never threatened to kick him out or cancel his membership, and pointed out multiple other members whom were wearing their masks under their nose and were not approached, let alone threatened to be kicked out and memberships cancelled.She then threatened to call the police because we refused to be kicked out for a compliance issue that she allowed other members to continue to not follow (which can be seen on camera, she walked past multiple members with their masks under their nose) Additionally, the GM was not following that SAME compliance issue by attempting to intimidate me getting in my face after I asked her to stand 6ft from me, as the signs all over the gym make clear. I told her she can call the police, because at this point I’m feeling harassed and I also wanted to file a police report for records.My last visit to the gym, a staff member (who’s name I will provide to corporate) said verbatim “You don’t have to wear the mask while you’re working out, just when you’re walking around the gym”. So the professional way to go about this, would be to simply mention that management is aware that things were different in the past, but that the norm we were used to has changed and now we must keep the mask up at all times. Instead, the message was keep it over your nose or you’re out of here!I hope the owner is aware of the type of “customer service” his GENERAL MANAGER is displaying to paying, unproblematic customers. I also hope the owner is aware of how the GM picks and chooses whom she will harass to follow policy because it is not a good look on the gym management nor is this good practice. We made our complaint with the police because this was blatantly a hate-crime and I will be following up with corporate.

The equipment is top notch. Cleanliness is constantly a priority. In this day and age of COVID, I have no reservations working out: wipes are available for everyone, distance is respected with the equipment, etc. The staff are knowledgeable and helpful. Thank you.
I initially signed up for a retro fitness membership with high hopes. The gyms are nice and clean. The price is fairly reasonable. I was a member at the 202 location, and when that gym closed my membership got transferred to this location. During the beginning of the Coronavirus breakout I tried to cancel, but I was unable to reach anyone but ABC financial. ABC financial is the only phone number easy to access. They cannot help you at all with anything in regards to your membership which is odd. I was told to wait til the gyms reopened. They reopened and I was billed without notice. I had moved and my original gym was closed. I had no idea what to do or who to talk to. Eventually ABC gave me the number to this gym which I learned is my new location apparently. I called to cancel and the staff member was very helpful. I was told to contact corporate in order to get my refund of the annual fee and months that I should not have been charged for. I reached out via email a month ago and have gotten no response. The gyms are great, but canceling with this company is just completely bad business and has ruined my opinion of the gym.
The new ownership has made steady improvements to the gym. New equipment,cheaper prices for merch. The place is also clean. The staff is awesome. The whole vibe is better.
I love this gym! Jamie is the best front desk employee! Sam is also a cool dude and has some gnarly flow! Highly recommend this gym! Great people!
I usually go to Aston but I was in the area. I was pleasantly surprised. New equipment and clean. The staff said they were adding some new equipment. I was like sure but a couple of my buddies were there and they told me this place is legit. You can get unlimited passes now too. I will be back.
New management has completely changed the game, it’s clean and has tons of new equipment.

There is routinely equipment that is out of order; much of it should be replaced. Overall equipment and gym could benefit from more frequent cleaning. Management can be difficult to deal with. I would recommend finding a different gym if you can. Read the contract thoroughly before agreeing to join; if you find conditions not to your liking, look elsewhere. But hey, its cheap.
Ive been at this location about 6 months now, previously I went to the bear location for over a year, I enjoy it... less crowded, equipment works and theres plenty of it, most of the staff is helpful. The cancelling issues could probably be resolved if people read their agreements closely, its not an easy or convenient process but it exists, so read it.

This is the best Retro Fitness location in Delaware. It has a spacious Locker Room, always clean and has more machines than the other two Retro Fitness locations have. I would highly recommend this Retro Fitness.
Out of date cardio equipment, same equipment always down. Bent bars, guide rods on machines bent and never lubricated. Cant wait to cancel membership. Was a member a few years ago and got tired of broken equipment after 2 years away tried to give it another go. Was a waist. In major need of a update on some equipment and keep up on maintenance on machines. October can not get here soon enough

Called the gym months ago to cancel membership. They cannot cancel over the phone. I had to visit the gym in person when the manager is on site in order to cancel. After doing this I have been receiving emails from ABC financial services threatening me with collection agencies and a damaged credit report. Ive called the gym to get this resolved and the response was they would fix the issue and admitted to. It properly cancelling the membership but instead only blocking my card (I did not block my card). Received another email today from ABC financial with their final warning. The only action on my account was taken by the gym manager, who did properly cancel my membership, leaving with me an issue that will likely go to the BBB to be resolved. And yes, I understood Id have to pay the final month of the one year contract. Yes Ive already called ABC Financial, they cannot resolve the issue either.
Staffs are not guiding properly for cancelling the membership. I have asked them to cancel it 2 months back but still they have not done it. Telling stories each time. But taken my money alone correctly for 2 months and also maintenance fee of 50$. In total I have been robbed 90$ so far.
Had to cancel my membership because NO ONE, including staff, wears a mask. I have been a member since 2009 and finally decided to cancel my membership because the lack of leadership displayed and lack of concern for fellow members of their community. I hope they rectify this issue soon. But I couldn’t stand by and support a business that doesn’t take this pandemic seriously.

Went in for my first time with a free trial pass. Was my first time in a gym so big and there were a lot of cars parked outside so I was a little anxious but once inside it was fine. I am thinking about purchasing a membership there.

Visited while in town. Well equipped gym, staff was friendly, members were respectful and clean. Old school theme but everything was very up to date.
I like it here. I can get it, do my workout, get out. Never did a physical exam or asked for personal teaining, but staff seems nice when I talk to them. I just wish a guest pass wasnt so much... $10 is a lot for one day..
Awful customer service never get a phone call back from manager who now has to schedule fitness assessments, paid over $1800 in training sessions and still have been unable to get a trainer to actually use. Love the bear on and wish I could transfer my training there but of course they dont allow that!

Nice place to work out but no longer convenient for me. Virtually impossible to cancel membership. Went to gym twice and they told me no manager on duty so have to come back. Tried over phone and said I had to send a signed letter. Sent a signed letter but membership not cancelled. Now saying I have to send certified letter. Should not be that difficult to cancel services you no longer need. STAY AWAY!!!
Have been a member here for 2 years, brought an interested friend to try the club, one attendant would not allow a pass, another attendant gave him a pass, when he tried to use it the 1st attendant blocked it, the 2 attendants finally agreed to allow him entry, no attendant briefed him on the club, then upon leaving, had difficulty getting his license returned. It was held behind the counter and the difficult attendant ignored us standing there. I complained to the manager Steve, he suggest I cancel my membership. Customer Service does not exist here,
Dont do the fitness assessment that comes free with your new membership!! They challenge you way beyond capacity to make you feel much more out of shape than you really are, and hope that then sign up for a personal trainer. Trainer made me do an exercise Ive never done before in my life with a 20lb weight and Ive had friends who both said they almost threw up afterwards....very unprofessional.
Just started working out again after a long struggle with cancer..i have specific physical issues that concern me...Alex the fitness manager informed me that she was not a trainer .unfortunately I scheduled a secpnd appointment with personal trainer..got a call that he had an emergency and would not be there....the girl Alex said Sorry there is no one else available at this time a of day. No offer for any alternative date or time.....this is my second time trying this gym...the first was five years ago...nothing has changed. I stick out my year but then Ill go elsewhere......
I’ve been going to this retro for almost 3 years now. The staff is always friendly and the equipment is up to date and well taken care of.
Tons of equipment, inexpensive, free weights, and extra space for body weight work.

Descent gym, plenty of equipment. Takes too long to repair equipment and I can guarantee that one or both of the soap dispensers are empty or broken. 1 old school water fountain can create a long line as people are trying to fill their water bottles. The help is not consistent, some are good while others are clueless.

I go early in the morning so there’s enough equipment/cardio machines. Bens brain teasers are great. Staff is always nice to me/my wife. Only thing holding back thy last star is the WiFi. Always in and out.
HORRIBLE!!! My son signed up but he has been so busy at work he tried to cancel in May. They told him he couldnt cancel because he signed up for a year. I called several months ago to cancel him and they said I had to send in a letter. They NEVER mentioned it had to be certified. I called recently because he is still being charged and they said the letter had to be CERTIFIED. First I heard of that!! So I ran to the postoffice and had a letter certified. Now I am calling and they said it is 2 months after the certified letter is received. This company is so deceitful!! I am so disgusted with this!!! The rates may be low but that is because they hold you hostage for months after you try to cancel! NEVER JOIN unless you understand all of this!!!
Not a bad gym if you like a place that looks like Hulkamania ran wild all over it and rude, ignorant staff who dont belong in any gym whatsoever. If you DO sign up for a membership here, carefully read the contract as you might be surprised when you try to cancel it. Oh, and another thing. Its quite apparent that this location are using fake reviews to boost their rating as most of their ratings are not five-stars but they are one-stars. Deceptive business practices are not a good thing and quite frowned upon.Obviously, when people are unsatisfied with their memberships and go to cancel, and theyre given the run around, theyre not going to leave this place a great review. But it is VERY obvious when you go and try some SEO to cover your asses in terms of either being sued or people just jumping ship. Scott Barber may own this location and the one in Concord Mall but if you really want to complain, go over his head to Frank Acierno. Hes the VP over at Concord Mall and Im more than certain hell take your complaints with weight.
Plenty of equipment, and easy access to the equipment. Clean all the time. Urinary needs fixing is the only negative.

After being fired yesterday i signed up online,Today around 6am i was denied access to the gym with proof of my sign up, the manager lance Wilson called the cops because I requested to speak to Chris or Scott, Chris and Scott were always good to me but lance fired me with out any reasonable cause, Alex the fitness manager who is not certified body shamed me stating that I never lose weight because I always do the same work out, today she lied to the cops stating that I threatened her but I have proof that is a lie, I would never threaten a lady regardless of her unprofessionalism, I am very disappointed in these managers

People .. be very careful with this gym, they make you a contract which is renewed by itself and they dont give you that information, then they accumulate a debt without you knowing anything, and in order to cancel the membership you have to pay that debt, after you pay the money they make you go to the gym several times to see the manager ... this company steals your money, do not make or sign any contract with them, because later they damage your credit !! 😡😡
