Michael is very service oriented and he has good quality bikes at a reasonable price. He is accessible, answers the phone and will call you back if necessary.. He will deliver or you can pick them up if you have a bike rack. He provides bike helmets and a bike lock for security. We recommend his bike rental business. Please ask him to inflate your tires before delivery or pick up.

His customer service is excellent, pick up/drop offs very accommodating and the bikes are always in good condition! I had a great experience with my bike rental from Michael at The Spoke and Wheel. Great service - drop off and pick up - plus he worked with me when my plans changed. He’s also a great advocate for improving cycling in the area. It was hard to find a non-beach cruiser in the area and I was able to score a solid bike to get out on while visiting Wrightsville!

Owner was over the top in excellent service . Michael made sure I was comfortable on the bike I rented by bringing me a second bike that was smaller .He answered each and every call . He gave great directions to bike paths to all our landmarks we wanted to explore .When I had a slight issue with my bike he arrived promptly to help me out . Michael was wonderful. He delivered the bikes to our hotel, swapped out one when we had an issue, and picked them up. It was so nice to be able to ride to UNCW and the USS North Carolina.

Bikes were in great condition and pickup/drop off was super easy. Really recommend for cruising around downtown Wilmington.

I cannot say enough good things about Michael at The Spoke and Wheel. My boyfriend, daughter, and I decided to take a trip to Wilmington and stumbled upon his listing on Google. Even before booking bikes, he was very helpful with informing me of the differences in bike carriers for my daughter and even helped with some local beach suggestions. Over the phone he was very helpful but even more so in person. Michael let us park at his house and we picked up the bikes from there (although he did mention he could drop them off and pick up). He was extremely patient while we got my daughter acclimated with bike trailer and even gave us instructions to the beach. He tailored the bikes to fit our heights. He also supplied helmets, bike locks, sanitizing towels, and gloves. The COVID measures were impeccable. The equipment was SPARKLING clean. Seriously, like new. One of the best customer services experiences I have ever had. Get your bike rentals from The Spoke and Wheel! We will be back.

The Spoke and Wheel Bike Rentals is awesome! My husband and I rented bikes to cruise around Wilmington and we had a great time. Michael was quick to respond to my last minute online request and was very accommodating from start to finish. He brought the bikes to our hotel and picked them up when we were finished. Would definitely rent from him again!

Renting bikes from Spoke and Wheel made for a fun socially distanced addition to our anniversary weekend. The process was smooth. The owner met us at our hotel with the bikes (including helmets and a lock) and explained how to use everything. He even went out of his way and rode with us to make sure we got to the trail from the hotel.The pick up process was easy, we were able to leave the bikes locked together in the hotel lobby. We had a great time, would definitely do it again.

Wonderful wonderful experience!! Michael is phenomenal. Customer service was incredible. I rode the bike 25 miles around Wilmington, UNCW & Wrightsville Beach! Most fun I’ve had since I was a kid. Bikes are in peak condition. Keeping Michael as a contact forever! :)

As other reviews have indicated, be sure to call ahead of rental as Michael no longer has a store front. Instead, he operates out of a storage unit. Before realizing this, my girlfriend and I had shown up to the address listed. After calling Michael and interrupting his Saturday morning lawn work, he quickly rushed over to get us set up with our bikes and on our way. I cant say enough good things about both Michael and the bikes provided. We had a great day cruising around Wilmington. To return the bikes, we simply met Michael at his favorite bar and loaded the bikes into his truck. Overall, a great experience - definitely would recommend. Extremely easy pickup and return process of the bikes and an even better person overseeing the rentals.

Highly recommend Michael to rent bikes. He is such a good guy! Service is amazing. He dropped off the bikes to our hotel and picked them up. Very reasonable price and the bikes were in perfect condition.

It is located inside of a storage unit and Michael lives nearby so he opens it for you and will drop you off wherever you want to go with the bikes. He will also deliver and pick you up wherever you are. Very friendly and excellent customer service! Some of the best Ive ever experienced. Highly recommend!!

Mike was so awesome. We rented great bikes and rode all the way to Wrightsville Beach. All the bikes at the shop are brand new. Its located right in town so very convenient too.

We had a great time riding around Wilmington, Michael was a awesome and very accommodating. Delivered the bikes right to us and told us all the great spots to hit and would recommend to anyone.

Owner M Braxton said he also did bike repair. I gave him my bike that needed two new inner tubes a few months ago. At first he was in regular contact with multiple stories about where my bike was. He has since stopped responding to my messages. My rating is based on lack of communication, theft? of property, and general untrustworthiness.

Michael was amazing and so helpful with not only the bikes, but where to go for good food and great drinks! Thanks Mike for making our vacation great!
