Time for renewal Homeowners Policy and had a few questions regarding some coverages. Spoke with Tyler Davis, who was very professional and knowledgeable, and he checked on a couple of things for me and was back to me with answers to all of my questions in a very timely fashion. Very pleased with my past and present experiences with Don Bullard Insurance and especially with my recent interactions with Tyler Davis.

Every interaction with this office is pleasant and professional. The policies offered are excellent value and service is top-notch. Cant say enough good things about them!

In December my former Home and Auto insurance policies were set to renew/expire. When I logged into my account I had found that the agent who set up the policy was no longer with the company and my new agent was just the home office. This was a little disheartening as I love having the ability to talk to a local agent if the need should arise. I have known Heather with Don Bullard Insurance for about a year and she is very knowledgeable in her field. Since I had the opportunity to shop around I reached out to her first. Heather is simply amazing. Even during the holiday festivities, Heather was very easy to get in contact with. I gave Heather the information she requested along with what my current coverage was and what I thought I needed for the future. Heather not only responded quickly, but sent over multiple quotes explaining the value and benefit of each one. Not only that, but I was also able to get the same of slightly better coverage at a cheaper rate which is amazing as I know insurance rates have gone up recently due to mother nature and various other things that happened in 2020. In this time where we need to get the most for our dollars, I would highly recommend getting a no obligation quote from Heather. If you are in a great spot, she will tell you and wont try to sway you from that. I feel much better knowing that I am not just a number in the system and that if the time comes that I need to utilize my insurance, that I have Heather on my side to take care of it all! Thank you!

I used the online chat box today and was connected with someone who answered my immediate questions on my renewal notice, sent me a copy of my policy and sent a message to my agent to follow up on looking at other options as our rate increased this year. I Am confused that your professional expertise gives me an answer to a Lighthouse Insurance quote of $4425.00, a very significacant increase, to replying with an undetailed quote for $4900.00. In addition I have learned from your expertise, that my very expensive Certanteed Grand Manno shingles warranteed for 50 years cannot be insured for more than 19 years.Are you telling me that our long term relationship is at an end? It appears that I can do better by myself. ???

Unprofessional and lazy staff. I am not sure what the point of Don Bullard insurance is. They did not help nor did they seem to care about my issue. Extremely disappointing experience. There is way better companies out there. Don’t go with Don if you live Eastern Carolina!

This company provided possibly the worst service imaginable. After being in our home for less than two months my husband and I received a notice, on a Friday, requesting information and a “paid invoice from a professional roof cleaning company showing all algae/roof staining has been removed to determine condition.” This was our first-time hearing of this request and the e-mail indicated that this invoice had to be provided in less than 24 hours. On a Friday. My husband and I spent the entire weekend panicking and unable to reach anyone with the Don Bullard Agency because it was after business hours. When I was finally able to reach someone the following Monday, I was told that a notification was sent prior to the one sent that Friday, but after searching through my inbox, spam, and trash I had yet to find this alleged e-mail. At this point we were now past the deadline that the insurance company had provided to us and were still completely unable to comprehend why the insurance company was requesting that we have our roof cleaned, as the roof had been examined by a licensed general contractor prior to us purchasing the home who found the roof to be in good condition and did not report any issues with algae or roof staining. The customer service rep I was speaking with sent me the inspection from the insurance company, which I was just seeing for the first time. After reviewing the inspection together, the customer service rep agreed that from the pictures that were provided in the inspection there was no reason that the insurance company should be requesting this cleaning occur. She then asked that I send her a brief blurb contesting the need for this cleaning and send it to her and she would also send an e-mail from the Don Bullard Agency stating that they disagreed with this request. I checked in with the customer service rep later that week to see if they had heard anything from the insurance company and she reported that she had not but would reach out the following day.A week after I spoke with the customer service rep for the first time and we received a “Notice of Cancelation” from the insurance company. Once again this was received after work hours and no one at Don Bullard was available to assist after hours. I even tried reaching out to the Agent who sold me the insurance with Don Bullard, Heather Gamester, and the President of that location, Kara Herring, and never received a response from either. At the time my husband was away for military training, it was the middle of hurricane season, and I had no idea what was going on. I decided to call the insurance company directly and was told that they had not received ANY communication from Don Bullard regarding our policy. I was also told that whether Don Bullard agreed with the underwriter’s assessment or not we were still required to have the roof cleaning completed or insurance would be canceled. While the outcome of the assessment may have not been amendable, had we received the assessment when the representative claimed she sent it we would have had more time to switch insurance companies and possibly stay with the Don Bullard Agency. But the way this situation was handled was insulting, incompetent, and unacceptable. We have since switched to a smaller insurance company that cares more about its customers and could not be happier.Moral: Don’t always go with the lowest cost as it is not always the best.

Shannon helped me with readjustments of my home and auto insurance policies. Both had inflation increases this year and she did her best to help with the retooling of the policies for this retired person. She is very thorough, courteous and understanding. An asset to your company.

We moved to Wilmington in 1998 and were oblivious of the state insurance regs and representatives. As my wifes sister and her husband arrived several years earlier we relied on them for insurance and placed our requirements with a particular company. Pricing seemed fair and one-on-one meetings on various subjects seemed acceptable. As the years passed service deterioriated significantly, but we hung in there. About 5 years ago I said enough is enough and thought bout making a change. I was aware of Don Bullard Agency from their TV commercials, knew that an Agency represented numerous insurance companies and their ILM office was convenient.I made an appointment and met with Chris Stellaccio who impressed me greatly. He openly worked with me to move all our existing insurance to Bullard Agency selections. In my view he was a superior professional and I enjoyed working with him. Time passed and Chris disappeared and I found myself working with series of people, none of which matched up to Chris..Until 2020 when Sharon Eber came on the scene as my Customer Service Agent. AhA, I said, a female Chris Stellaccio!! I enjoy having her looking after our insurance needs in a mature, knowledgable, thorough and conscientious manner. My husband and I have been living with a buckling floor and mold in our house for over two months now. Don Bullard wont even respond to our inquaries, let alone do their jobs to help make our house livable after a hurricane. Pretty sad. If youre looking for expensive on paper home insurance, I guess these guys are right for you. If youre looking for ACTUAL coverage, I would look else where.

Sells sorry homeowners insurance. Be very careful. Took 2 months after the hurricane to get an adjuster out. Then everything was depreciated 50% and Im stuff with repairs and a leaky roof...BTW they will not pay for a roof replacement when needed, only a patch job. UPDATE- over 4 months since the hurricane still nothing....

Never once spoke to me over the phone or in person. Sent me constant letters threatening to stop my coverage of insurance although I paid every month with auto payment. Just a constant bad vibe. No thanks

Have had a terrible time with the Southport office. My homeowners insurance expired March 15th and I am still not sure if I have insurance. Was upset at first, but after a phone conversation was told not to worry. Now it is March 24th and I am receiving cancellation letters and active letters. Dont know what to think. I have to make phone calls Monday with my mortgage holder and the insurance company. Try calling my agent, Kelly Underwood, think its easier getting President Trump. I just want homeowners insurance!!! Incompetent office in Southport. Totally disgusted. No call backs. Everything done by email. Horrible experience. Retired, dont need these headaches.

Horrible company to deal with. Got a letter in the mail that they are dropping a policy (and not exactly sure why) and I am amazed they did not call or reach out to me in any way besides a very vague letter. Even with me trying to reach out to them to find out what is going on results in no callbacks. I would not recommend at all. I could not imagine how they would be to work with if you actually had a claim. Stay away!
