I bought a warranty from this company paid $1200 in over 12 months toward my 18 mo finance agreement.I cancelled on 12/1/14. By 6/28/15 still have gotten NO refund. I have done all their required paperwork. Had to get Visa involved. They totally sided with me. To which the person from Direct Buy verbally & in email said the refund would be here in 7-10 days from 6/1.Also, be warned I cancelled 6 months shy of the 18 month finance period.Never used warranty. But I am only getting $350 back.In many other reviews I see where they wont pay your claim anyway.Id run screaming from this company. They are not only scammy. Their employees are rude and combative if you have to call. OH. if you get a person on the phone. I waited 20 min on hold my last call.Save your money. Stay far away from this place.

Stay away from Direct Buy Warranty, they are a scam!!! Check with the Attorney Generals office and the office of Consumer Repairs in New Jersey, they have hundreds of complaints against them. Unfortunately, when I was shopping for warranty companies, this information did not come up.I purchased a warranty from Direct Buy, for a used vehicle. I took the vehicle in for repairs, the mechanic could not reach anyone at Direct Buy, just kept getting disconnected. We tried to contact them too, and just kept getting disconnected. I sent multiple emails to Direct Buy with no response. There IS NO WARRANTY. Just got scammed out of over $1,000.00. I dont think I will get anywhere with getting my money back but I will continue to try. RUN AWAY FROM THEM AS FAST AS YOU CAN.
Worst warranty company and not to mention bad customer service. I dont understand how this company is still in business. I wouldnt even recommend this place to my worst enemy. They are cheap with claims and do not follow up with customers who call with a problem. They always take your VSC number and contact information meanwhile claiming to get back to and dont. Ive been waiting over three months for a mere $50 on a tire reimbursement. Customer service and billing people all promise the check will be cut on such and such a date and nothing. The representatives have all read my telcon notes back to me that state Ive asked repeatedly for $50 check. These guys are a scam. I read other complaints about trying to get cancellation refund back. I can hardly wait to see the run around I get on my cancellation. STAY AWAY FROM THIS GROUP! .
Fraud. Repairs are often described as wear and tear and all maintenance shops do not agree. They were prosecuted by the Attorney General in New Jersey. They had to pay back claims and in 6 months cant do business in that state. Contact your legislature and make them aware. Share the story of New Jersey. Strength in numbers!
This company is a big scam I have been trying to get thru to them for a whole week. First they change there number without notifying you, I call at 10:00AM when they first open, you get a recording they are backed up with calls and call back later, I sat in the repair shop all day to see if they would cover a repair on my car and no one answered the phone,,,If you ok a repair with the repair shop before you speak with them they will not cover it..., they are closed on Saturdays so you have to miss a day from work sit in the repair shop and pray someone will answer the phone, My Warranty is paid in full I believe they just dont want to live up to their agreement this is unethical and if they are not out of business they should be made to go out of business you cannot play with peoples lives and money like this..So please if you are looking to get a contract with this company run, from a hard working citizen who thought she was doing the right thing when she took a contract with this whacked out company
They do not cover anything, especially what they promise. I paid $1700, two months later they denied covering a simple parking sensor. I canceled it right away and my refund was only $1,300 because of processing fees. It has been over two months and I still havent received my refund. When calling and they actually answer, they put me on hold and hang up. When I call right back, the call just hangs up, like they have caller ID. This company is a Fraud and I am filing against them through the New Jersey State Attorney and apparently there are many dealing with the exact same issue. File a complaint and lets take this fraudulent company down.
Zero star! First of, the customer service told me suspensions are included along with turbo, later when the policy came it did not include those. Talking to the sales they told me that my car cannot have this level of policy as it is over the mileage... well... I dont care, the customer rep said I do so I should, regardless, that is why I signed up.. Anyways, after going back and forth a lot they put me on the right policy.. After two months, reading a lot of reviews about this company, I found that this seemed to be fraud. I then wanted to cancel, I stayed on the phone trying all extensions, EVEN FOR SALES!!! No one picked up for hours and hours for days and days and weeks and weeks, they kept deducting the monthly charge, I disputed it with my bank, bank said you should talk to the merchant, well I tried I couldnt, the bank really could not do much. So I disabled my debit card, as soon as my payment got due, guess what DBW calls... Wa.. I was amazed, when they wanted money they call... Anyways I told them I had been trying to reach someone for the past 3 months, do you guys even exist!! Anyways she sent me a form that I had to notarize with the mileage and send back for the cancellation process..
I needed an extended warranty for my SUV. I found them online, everything looked good until a year later when I had to utilize the service. I was disappointed to find out they wouldnt cover any of the services that the dealer had to complete for maintenance. I was stuck holding a repair bill of 2900 dollars, luckily I was able to cover the charges. I dont recommend them. I read thru my contract noted that all deficiencies were under the contract that I was mailed in writing. Most of the representatives were nice and easy yo work with but if I have a warranty that States that practically everything would be covered in regards to in-depth mechanical issues, but they werent, really sucks. Hoped fully eOther people have a better experience than I did.
I am a Warranty Administrator in Orlando and I will advise all dealerships to NOT accept this extended warranty from your customers. I have been waiting on payment for an approved claim for 6 months now. I have called every single day to try and receive payment. At first, I waited on hold for hours to get ahold of someone and then got hung up on. I kept calling for weeks, finally spoke to someone who said they were sending out a check and gave me a check number. I waited a week with no check, tried calling back and as soon as I would get ahold of someone and explained why I was calling, I was hung up on. I even spoke to a manager who continually hung up on me. I also tried emailing with no response. This company is a complete scam. I advise everyone to NOT use this company.
I purchase my vehicle warranty from DirectBuy on a Range Rover Sport. First issue i had with vehicle they only covered for half the repair. Second and third issues were denied the claim and had to pay out of pocket. Fourth issue was covered as they had no way out but the last one had to do with my emergency brakes. The repair was $1,500.00 and they denied the claim as normal wear and tear. Unless I am stupid you buy these type of warranties to avoid costly repairs due to normal wear and tear. Defective manufacturer items will arise within the vehicles normal warranty and are covered by the manufacturer. I paid $3,700.00 cash for the insurance. I sold the vehicle 2 years after it was purchased and cancelled the warranty. I just got a letter from them saying that they will be refunding $495.00. When the warranty was for the lesser of either 5 years or 100,000 miles. the vehicle was sold in 2 years and had a little over 50,000 miles of the contract.I was expecting to receive at least $1,000.00 as refund but they say I wont even get half of that.Beware of Directbuy Warranty as they will weasel their way out of having to pay a repair to your vehicle. What a scam! Never again I will use their service.
Phones appear to be disconnected. They approved my claim almost a year ago and owe me reimbursement funds. They have since promised to pay the reimbursement at least a dozen times. Alas, my warranty money is gone and I doubt the reimbursement is coming through. Fortunately, my friend is an investigator for the Federal Trade Commission. Well see what happens next.
I cancelled my contract after I sold my card. This was back in May 2015 and they still have not send my refund. Totally fraudulent company.
I sold my car and cancel my warranty back in late 2015, today is February 2016 and I get no return phone calls no return emails and no one can tell me where my refund check is. They owe me over 1000 dollars and have not seen one cent.Frustrated
WARNING: I warn anyone tempted to purchase an auto warantee from this company!!!!! They were so fast to collect the money for my purchase of the warantee. BUT when time came to pay for repairs it took 1 to 2 weeks and being on the phone (me AND my qualified repair shop) ON HOLD numerous times. Hold times in excess of an hour!!!More than once I was disconnected. More than once they were RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL on the phone to me AND the repair shop. The Repair shop AND dealer told me they NEVER had dealt with a more cheap and rude company. They never covered more than 50% of labor and not all things are covered maybe 30% of total costs......Buyer Beware
This company is a fraud. Major repair declined and they said it was normal wear.....really an air conditioning condenser and tranny cooler. Stole our money and now nothing. We feel scammed. Stay away from this company!
This company is HORRIBLE! Do not waste your time! They must have good lawyers to still be in business! I called just to get info and they offered me a price that was better than the competition, I was hesitant, so the sales guy assured me they had a %100 money back guarantee. So I made a deposit to lock in a price. After getting off the phone with them I decided to do a little research, to find out they are crooks! I immediately called back to cancel and get back my money, it took me 2 hours to track down this sales rep named Berny. He was so plea sent when I was, inquiring about the plan, but not this time he was total a**. He tried to guilt me out of my decision, once he realized I wasnt going to bend over he finally said yes I will process the return and put the money back on your card. He promised me it would take 3-5 business days. So I waited and 2 weeks went buy and I didnt see my money. So I called and after waiting 45 minutes someone in customeryourscrewed I mean customer service answered. She had zero documentation of the return. Luckily I caught it before they billed me for the rest of the policy. She told me the process would take 7-11 business days. I waited another 2 weeks with no money on my card. So I called again to find out I needed to respond to an email that they had sent. I did not get that email I checked everywhere, while I was talking to her. So I asked her to please send it again. I asked while I was on the phone, why dont I see it yet. She said well it goes to corporate and then they send it, she just makes a request. It should come in a day or so. I waited for days checking my email like 10 times a day, again nothing. As you can imagine by now I am pissed! So I call again and wait for 45 minutes just like every time before. I explained what happened and how much crap I had to go through already! The girl said the email was sent, again I looked everywhere in every folder. I asked her to please request it again. This time I did not wait I called everyday until someone from corporate finally got on the phone with me and she sent the email with ease. I filled out the return for and sent it back. I began to wait for money again. I then would call about every three days, and have set a daily reminder to call them. They finally said the email was received and the return was processed and said again I would need to wait 7-11 business days. Its been 24 and I havent received my money. Now when you call the customer care a system tells you that they are down with technical issues! I have been l lied to over and over again. STAY AWAY UNLESS YOU ENJOY GETTING SCREWED!!!! I made the first call on July 27th, it is November 11th. This has to be the worst business experience I have ever had.

Worst company by far. They did not pay my entire bill at BMW. They said they pay a specific price for a water pump. Although BMW parts are more expensive than their specified price, I had to pay the difference. Also, I had to pay the difference in labor price because DBW does NOT pay the full labor. Called to cancel my membership and signed the documents in October. Refund checks were supposed to be sent on December 15th. It is now January 13th and havent gotten my mail. Every time I call, the call gets disconnected immediately. Emailed the company and no response. Over a week wait for an email responding to my situation. Disappointing. Companies like this should be out of business.
Scam! I had a claim filed. Paid $600 for Elite Contract. Car suffered catastrophic failures of seals and gaskets, all covered items. DBW refused to pay saying it was normal wear and tear. Normal wear and tear applies to a common occurrence. My failures were 1 in a 1000 per dealership and DBW Rep. That is not normal wear and tear. Had their representative go to dealership. THEIR representative agreed with dealership assessment and recommended repair. DBW still refused to pay. It was a simple numbers game. I paid $600 for warranty and the repair was over $10K. They simply blew me off. SCAM SCAM SCAM and a direct breach of contract! I would never recommend spending a penny with this company!

When I bought this warranty I asked the salesman what the restrictions and exclusions included. He told me there were no exclusions and that everything was covered as long as I completed the paper work. That was incorrect. I have tried to file three claims and all three have been denied. The issue that I have is that I paid for the service over the phone, but I did not see the contract until two weeks later. I suggest either trying a different complany.
This company I agree are scammers, we have all the same problem with this company..They are suckers and refused to pay what they are supposed to pay you. In my case, They approved a reimbursement check in the amount of $299.25 out of the $900.00 i paid on my pocket..I sent them official recepts and all the documents they requested me to send.I have nothing else to do but to accept and signed the reimbursement form for that mere amount they approved to pay me back..But then again, another scam from them. They said the check was sent last October 26,2015..I waited for 2 weeks and call them back to let them know I have not received any check, to run around begins, they put me on hold until the line went dead, they dont answer any call from me at all..I have been very patient in calling them almost 3 times a week but to no avail..Well they are scammers..Its been almost 2 months and a half since and I have not talked to them because I understand they block my phone number...These people deserved to rot in jail...Please if your are buyinh warranty from them DONT...
They promise you the moon,,,,,,, but then deny every claim stating it is not covered because of Normal Wear and Tear. Their phone no longer works. Stay away from this company!!!!
I purchased a warranty on 8/9/2011. DBW has denied 5+ repairs that are clearly shown as covered in the contract. They claim no coverage due to time and wear. My contract clearly offers coverage up to a certain date and miles that I am well within. Because DBW refused to pay for these claims, I have been out of pocket over $4,000 in repairs. In the few occasions that they have covered a part, they do not pay near enough for the part or labor so I still end up paying too much out of pocket. Example: I had a fuel pump that went out and the local repair shop charged me $512.74 and DBW would only pay $226.72. Keep in mind that the Chevrolet dealership was going to charge $780.14 ($430 for part and $350 labor). DBW will only pay for the absolute cheapest part they can find and they limit the labor rate so you will never be able to have your car fixed at the car dealership shop because they will only install OEM parts. Because DBW will only pay for the cheapest possible part, this is the 3rd fuel pump that my car has needed. It gets even better. They covered the first (2) fuel pump replacements, but I still had to pay for half of the bill. Recently, fuel pump went out again and now they say that the fuel pump is not covered. These guys are crooks!!! Beware.
About one year ago I purchased the Platinum Warranty for my 2008 BMW with 65k Miles. As a long time owner of BMWs I am very Familiar with this vehicle and normal wear progression. My car is inoperable due to various issues. The first is that my car goes into safe mode Based on a covered exhaust issue that DBW says is normal wear BMW says no this is the type of thing you do not see under 100k. I also have several turbo hoses that need to be replaced and DBW says Normal wear, BMW says not normal under 100k. My AC compressor has failed they clearly said that my AC compressor is covered and just denied my claim. My Suspension was supposed to be covered and they denied several Parts to be replaced. BOTTOM LINE the Denied EVERYTHING but I have been paying my premium of $100 a month. I am so frustrated by the lack of customer Service and also the end result I feel it is my Duty to protect fellow consumers. I DO NOT RECCOMMEND DBW. I will be building a website this week to give other consumers that have issues with DBW to voice their concerns. I will pay whatever I have to do to have this sight rank right next to theirs. Consumers we need to stick together to educate one another on Accurate reviews based on FACTS I will keep everyone posted. Based on the success of the previous class action suits this maybe a great course of action.
If you recently purchased a warranty contact your CC company asap to try and receive a refund via the CC company. I am due a refund and have an active case with the state of NJ but was told by my cc company I was to late to file
I have been calling all week to make my payment and have been on hold for hours at a time and then the call disconnects. Twice an operator has come on the line and hung up on me!! I do not care about a refund at this point. I will look for another company. They denied a claim also stating it was maintenance.

Horrible service!!!!!!!! DONT BUY, THEY WILL NOT REIMBURSE YOU! We bought this for our Mercedes SUV and had the AC compressor go out which the warranty says is covered. However, when we went to put in a claim, they sent out an investigator to check out our claim and is now saying that they are not covering it all and making up some other BS excuse.

They have not paid for one repair, denied all repairs . They do not cover any repairs that are mentioned in any service bulletins . When you first sign up and ask questions that is never brought up or addressed . I have been paying for my account for 13 months and have still had to pay for all my repairs out of pocket . Do not purchase warranty especially for diesel truck, not even the platinum package it covers nothing on the truck . My mechanic has been trying to call for 4 days as I have been put on hold for long periods then just hung up on . Cancelling and pursing legal action .
