I stopped in on a Tuesday, selected a washer/dryer set with the help of the very friendly Daniela and had my set installed and working just after noon on Wednesday. The two men that delivered and installed were also very friendly and careful in the set up and made sure everything was working before they left. All very professional. Thanks.

Charging me for 2 visits bc they didn’t have the part on their truck, then not ordering a new knob knowing it was stripped along with the part they had to order. I understand not having a part and having to order it but I shouldn’t have to pay twice for a service call.

Do not waste your time calling these appliance tech. They were aweful. Never even showed up after making me wait .

I specifically told Ana I needed a XL capacity washer. I told her I needed one that I could wash blankets, comforters and big coats in. I was unable to go in person, but she sent me a picture of a washer and said it was XL capacity. I sent my son to pick up because I didnt want to pay the $65 delivery fee for 11 mile trip. When my son got home I immediately knew it was NOT even a large capacity washer let alone XL. I looked up model # and it was 3.4 cubic ft. Thats a medium sized washer. So I called her. She said they go by the knob that says super on it. I guess she doesnt know you can wash a super/large load in a small washer! So it was still on my sons truck and she offered to let me exchange it for what I wanted in their store. I just wanted my money back because at this point I lost all trust in someone who sells appliances and doesnt know how many cubic ft constitutes an XL capacity washer. I admit I shouldve went in person to look at it. But I couldnt and I NEEDED a washer ASAP. But at least I got my money back. My son put the washer back where it came from and she slammed money down on the counter. They should employ people who have knowledge of appliances if they sell them.

Was very nice, and professional. Was easy to deal with. Took a little while to get help loading but that is understandable, people are busy. Would definitely shop here again.

The young lady that operates the showroom is awesome. I looked at two appliances that I needed, we negotiated fairly on the price and made a deal. After walking out on the deal at F&H appliances (which had older stuff and was a lot more expensive) for one, I was able to buy newer stuff and pay the exact same price with delivery, set up and haul. I would recommend this be your first and only stop. The prices were VERY fair and the young lady was very nice and polite. She offered my 71 year old mother a chair and us both water. I would give 10 stars if I could.

Hower Appliances was great to do business with. I had a washing machine die and they were very helpful in getting a replacement. Great prices and great service. All appliances are tested and thoroughly cleaned. I would recommend shopping for used appliances there and will go back in the future.

Had a appt monday, never called or showed up waited all day, woman on phone assured they were coming! Tuesday i call, they said they tried to call you but i asked him to sens screenshot so obviously she thought they were lying too! Never called, wendseday no call either! Full of BS and Lies rather buy a new set!

Girlfriend and I needed new kitchen and laundry appliances. Found Hower on Craigs List so I went by their two locations. Both locations had numerous appliances to chose from. I found a washer & dryer combo at the Castle Hayne Rd. location and a nice refrigerator at their New Bern St. location. I was able to make a package deal and have them delivered. All appliances were clean and have worked perfectly. They didnt have a stove like I wanted so I asked if they would call me when they received one like I wanted. Last week they called and said they had one I might like. It was in good shape but my girlfriend and I decided to buy a new one instead. I called Hower and let them know my choice and asked if they would take my old range, they came the next day and picked it up at no charge. First off, the girls running the place were rude the day we went in. Whatever though, cause we just wanted a washer and dryer before our baby was born. Got s great deal. Took it home and hooked it up. Washer runs great. The dryer does not. It took several runs to dry a small load of laundry. We called, they said we’d have to bring the dryer back to the shop for repairs. We have no way to cause we don’t own a vehicle to haul it back. So we’ve been dealing with it. Just paid it off last week, spent over $400 on both as a set, and it almost catches fire today and now it won’t turn on.Don’t waste your money on their appliances.

Great appliances for super prices bought all for new home and all have worked flawlessly for 4 years. Washer is going out and gonna call them right now to come get and supply new one. Yes for low price they come get and set in new one.

Brought a washer & used it one time & the spinner wouldn’t get all the water out of the clothes. Called, they came and fixed it no problem. On day 32, the exact same thing happened again. They won’t fix it cause it was after the thirty days even though they sold it to me broken. I could see if something different went wrong, I would gladly pay for it to be fixed. Why would I pay and the same thing happen again in thirty-two days again. When I called to tell them, the young lady said she had to call the owner and call me back. Well after 4 days no call and I had to go up there & no owner in sight. I wouldn’t use them again and won’t refer anybody to them.

Bought an Amana washer and dryer from them, got them home and the dryer wouldn’t spin. Found out they sold it to me without a tension pulley!?! How does that happen?

Spent almost $200 on a used dryer. It comes with a 30 day warranty. 35 days later the motor died and they told me they wouldn’t do anything for it. They said they would send out a service tech but I had to pay $35 for him to show up and pay material and labor to fix it. (Which would have been another $200 at least seeing as a new motor and blower fan is $120). Wouldn’t go here unless you feel like paying too much for garbage appliances.

He swore at me in my own house and tried to get me to pay $100 cash after replacing a water pump on my washer without testing it first. This is after rescheduling the appointment twice and showing up after hours. I was told they would come between 10-5. I called the office at 4:45 because I had not heard from them yet and she said they will be at my house between 5 and 6. Not only did I waste taking 3 days off because of business hours, but they then showed up after hours anyway. I tried to pay them to NOT come back when I found the washer was still broken (after I wrote a check for $100 out to the owner not the business.) So he doesnt have to pay taxes on it. Same with the cash deal. They were so nasty to me that I didnt want them to come back. They show up anyway demanding their part (the water pump) and called me names, insulted me, was prejudice against me for my looks and me neighborhood saying he knew I wasnt going to want to pay to that I replied Im trying to pay you right now to leave and then he told me he didnt want any money from me. So he came in and took his part while throwing my washer around. The next day I had someone else come to look at it and told them what happened. They said they ruined my washer so badly that I shouldnt even bother trying to fix it. The guy felt so bad about the condition they left it in that he didnt even charge me the cost of coming out to look at it. I went to G and J appliances and bought a new refurbished washer for less than what Hower would have fixed it for.

To:dale akstin We always try to give best customer service to our clients, recognizing that their are used appliances that’s why we give 30 days warranty we can do anything within the warranty if you don’t like it we can exchange it, if something is wrong we’ll repair it... And you know something I checked all my files and I don’t have anyone with that name, I have a feeling that you are someone who’s trying to make us look bad, what’s really weird is that all of the appliances didn’t work lol next time please make up something better 👍 We got a couple of bad reviews but we have more clients who are very satisfied with what they have purchased and everything.

Scammers! Purchased a number of items. Each had to be replaced two to three times from their shop (fridge, washer/drier/, oven) within the first two weeks! Now, we are about a year out and the fridge went completely. The repair tech stated they jerry rigged the fridge to operate by attempting to seal some inner tubing that they knew would fail, but bought them enough time to unload it. Super nice lady at front desk from what I remember, but the techs simply unload garbage onto unsuspecting customers. Steer clear.

First off - I called Hower to speak to someone about making a purchase. Rude does not even describe the person on the other end of my phone. Nasty and loud without provocation. All I did was ask about purchasing a washing machine - I guess that was an over the top question.I went elsewhere and purchased a new washer without hassle. I would not suggest anyone deal with these people. If you do - best of luck.

Purchased appliances from them 3 times over the last 10 years. FRIDGE,FREEZER, WASH/DRYER Honestly would prefer some of their high quality reconditioned Samsung and other reputible brands than pricey brand new! All still operate fine.They even will repaint areas that may show a bit of wear.They actually run loads of clothes through washer and dryer before putting them out for sale. The lady that works the sales floor will readily give her honest factual opinion and has been 110% accurate!The gentlemen that deliver and polite and very concerned about the used to bring appliance into the home and they also do a very through job on hook ups!I will be using them again very soon as we selling our home appliances included and will them for our new home. 10 STARS!
