I had John come to my house and takes measurements etc for an entire new 5 ton ac/furnace. I was told I would receive a quote within a couple days. After not receiving a quote, I called and left a message. No response from John so I called again and he called me back. I was told again I would receive a quote and still didn’t didn’t hear from him. I chose to go with a competitor because apparently need doesn’t business. My suggestion is, don’t waste your time or missing time at work to have Hentkowski come to your house because you may not receive a quote.

Hentkowski did a great job installing a new electronic air cleaner. I am very happy with their work. I would recommend them for HVAC work.

Our unit stopped cooling our home so we called Hentkowski to troubleshoot the problem and make any necessary repairs. They arrived on time and immediately began to assess the problem. He explained the source of the problem, made necessary repairs and left instructions to help us maintain the unit. An excellent service call and we are certainly pleased with the results.

This is the first time using Hentkowski, Inc. I had a new boiler heating system installed to replace my old unit. I first met with Brian who came to the house to give me an estimate for the replacement including labor. He took me through facts and figures and explained every aspect of the job, what to expect, how long (approximately) it would take, and a choice of boilers. He never tried to sell me anything. I told him we were just in the process of getting prices and we would get back to him in a few days. When we called him and told him its a go he immediately ordered the boiler which would be in in about 3 weeks. To our surprise, the boiler was in that same week on a Friday. He called when it arrived and asked if we were ready for installation the Monday after arrival. He was very courteous, knowledgeable, professional, and friendly, which made us feel as if wed known him for years. As far as installation, we had Steve, Carl, and Steve H. We couldnt have asked for a better group of technicians. They were very clean, knowledgeable, polite, well-mannered, professional, well dressed, friendly and total team players. You would hardly know they were in the house....very little talk, all work. They started with a drop cloth and covered our carpets from the door to the basement door. They protected the basement floor as well. Shoe covers were used as necessary. They were right on time within 3-5 minutes of what they said would be their starting time. A cheerful good morning and right to work! After three days, and the job was complete, You would never know the job was done, except for looking at the new boiler furnace in the basement...the cleanup was far beyond what we expected. Basically all we had to do was put back a few pieces of small furniture that we needed to move to give them room! We would most positively recommend this company to anyone!I would also like to leave a note about Kim, who I believe is the receptionist....She is so businesslike and professional, but at the same time she is bright, friendly and cheerful on the phone. More businesses need front line people like her!

Our ac had failed last week. We received a service call right away. After a couple attempts the actual problem was found and promptly this morning a technician was here for the final repair. Prompt, courteous, and efficient.

The Hentkowski crew just spent three weeks installing AC in our old Victorian house. They were excellent: highly professional, friendly, and exacting in their work. They patiently listened to our desires and designed a system that worked for our home. They clearly set out the costs (which were reasonable) and the installation timeline. The crew leader (John) did an outstanding job putting the system in, communicating with us along the way and explaining all of the decisions he was making when putting in ductwork and other issues. The crew itself was respectful of our privacy and did a first rate installation job (as were under COVID-19 lockdown, our family was here while they were working). They went the extra mile to make sure everything visible in the house looked nice when they were done.Were very happy with the system as well as with the service we received from Hentkowski.

Technician totally overcharged me, when I called the office I was told they would get back to me. They never did. During a Preventive Maintenance contract visit I was charged $131.00 for a $20.00 part that took less than 5 min. to install. I was told that several other parts needed to be replaced and would cost around $800.00. I replaced one of the parts mentioned for $30.00 and the boiler is working fine. If you care about fair pricing call someone else

Hentkowski, Inc. just replaced our 17 year old Carrier heater and central air conditioner, which were the original units in our home. Although both units never had a problem and were still in working condition, we felt it was time to upgrade and modernize with a new Carrier Infinity system. John Hentkowski came out to do the estimate. He was very friendly and extremely knowledgeable, and it was obvious he had been doing this a long time. He gave our old system a thorough examination and recommended installing some additional returns to help with the air circulation upstairs.The installers, Steve H. and Mark L. came out a few days later. They were polite, efficient, and thoroughly professional. Their installation work was top notch with careful attention to details, and their sheet metal work was a thing of beauty. In all I couldn’t have asked for a better team.Hentkowski, Inc took care of all the paperwork, including warranty registrations and rebate applications. It is a no-brainer to have them do the annual maintenance on my new HVAC system.

They provided the professional installation of a commercial AC Unit in our apartment building. They used drop clothes on the floor and when they finished they did great job cleaning. They also explained how to replace the filters and maintain the AC. The AC runs well with no issue. Overall a 5-star experience.

This a late review of Hentkowski. The first service call was to check the (whole house) dehumidifier which had stopped working. The technician cleaned the unit and tightened the connections which had loosened. I was very pleased with the rep as he thoroughly checked all systems. He was polite and pleasant. The next call was a tune up for the heater. This was a different rep. He too was very professional and explained everything he did. The work was finished in less than 1 hour. Hentkowski will be the go to company for any problems with the HVAC system. I recommend them with great enthusiasm. Thank you very much for outstanding service.

Brian was courteous and thorough in answering my questions and discussing potential solutions to issues I had with my old furnace and AC. His price for a new system was very competitive with quotes I had from two other vendors. Steve and Ian, who installed my new system, were prompt, courteous, neat, and very efficient. Just sitting in my house right now over a year after Hentowski serviced my forced air fuel oil heat system and it is still tuned in perfectly and performs better than new. The guys that come out are grade A techs. They do not upsell. I have not received any compensation for this review.

The best technicians I have encountered, both Joe and Charlie. Both came to house for heater problems and were quick to respond, quick to determine cause of problem and correction. Will use them as my permanent technicians for heater, generator and AC.

Their receptionist has terrible customer service alongside her terrible communication. Called 3 days ago waited an entire day in 90 degree weather for a call back. Waiting on a part -- told we would get a call back the next day with an update and nothing. We of course called 2 days after waiting just to be greeted with an attitude and boorish demeanor. Hopefully the physical work is better than the presentation.

We have had nothing but wonderful experiences with Hentkowski. I called yesterday for a possible blockage in the condensation pipe due to water near our furnace.I got to work this morning and called them again for the office air conditioning unit. Both matters were handled quickly.Their service technician called prior to coming, was very friendly, and got us back up and running as quickly as he could. It ends up the office will need a new unit, but I am so thankful for their prompt responses and help with both issues!

Had a large water leak on the basement floor. John B helped identify the problem - a plugged drain line - cut the line, flushed out the debris, installed a new port for future line flushing and bingo the problem was corrected. Couldnt have asked for better service!

I had a problem with my heating system and Nest Thermostat. Hentkowski sent out Bill to do a diagnostic and potentially fix the issue. Bill was great, he was very friendly, knowledgeable, and thorough. He examined the system and the Nest and went through a ton of different possible causes and testing different things to figure out the issue. It turns out the Nest wasnt compatible with my old intermittent spark ignition furnace but worked some times. Bill even called Nests support and spoke with them for quite some time to try and find any possible solution and when there wasnt one he made sure to make it clear to Nest it was their product (Nests customer support has been surprisingly good as well and I would try one again if I updated my system in the future)and so Nest is giving me a refund. Im fairly tech savvy/mechanically inclined/curious and Bill also explained potential causes and what he was doing etc which was great. Overall the best experience I have had with this sort of thing.

Our AC shut down yesterday in our Newark office. I contacted Hentkowski and within a few hours, John was here to diagnose and fix the problem with our unit. On the same day, John came out and diagnosed the problem quickly and efficiently... the AC unit wasnt running properly due to a leak on the condensing coil. We discussed our options and John returned to replaced our outside unit and all necessary lines. Our office is cool again and comfortable. Hentkowskis service is excellent; dont hesitate to call them for heating, cooling and electrical needs!

I choose Hentkowski based on the good reviews. I certainly had a very different experience with them. Overall they are over-priced and quality is bad.1) Install programmable A/C thermostatI bought the control ahead of the time. The installation costs $104. It works fine.2) Install a missing piece of ductThe technician takes at most 20 minutes. The duct is about 6 inch by 5 feet. It costs $230.3) Heat pump tune upThe tune-up costs $139. I replaced a contractor per suggestion, cost another $134. I am not an expert, but Heat-pump works fine. After the tune-up and replacing the part, the technician says the heat pump works fine. 2 weeks later, the same technician checked again and say the back-up heating does not work. He cannot fix it, and suggest replacing the entire HVAC and Heating system, costs a few thousand dollar.So far, my experience is not great. But I wont write this review, if it not were the water heater issue.My water heater stopped working. I called Hentkowski. The first time, they did a diagnosis, cost $80, without fixing it. The second time, they replaced a heating element, cost $225. The technician told me that it would take a while for the water heater to heat the water, so he left. It is not fixed. The same technician came back and told me that the water heater is dead. I need to replace it with a new one. I paid over $300 without fixing the problem.The funny thing is that the next day, I called another company. They came in the fixed the water heater in 20 minutes. They charged me $40 for the parts and the repair. They also told me that the problem is very likely caused by the technician from Hentkowski.Hentkowski just doesnt know what they are doing. They didnt fix the problem, but actually cause another problem.
