STAY CLEAR OF THIS PLACE. I was planning on moving in with another student who currently lives here and he told me it was not worth paying for. Apparently this place was built hastily considering the structural issues I looked at inside the apartments. I could see the bottom of the walls falling apart due to water leaking into the apartments. The amenities that were promised back in May in one of the reviews are still not ready yet and it appears they have way more construction to go and it is already August. Wifi is terrible and spotty and it is impossible to reach staff on the phone. This entire place appears to be a big scam to lure in college students and force them to pay way more than what is given.

Bait and switch nightmare. Hands down the worst leasing experience ever. I would give zero stars if I could. We visited the unfinished apartment complex in January with our son who is a W&M student. He wanted to be in a 4 bedroom unit available in June because of a summer job at W&M and asked to be roommate matched. Madison came up with an option but it was the smallest bedroom with a small window. He was interested in a larger bedroom with more light. She then gave our son another option but it was in a building that wouldnt be ready in June. I guess she forgot he needed to move in June. She said no problem she had an available 4th floor apartment with a large bedroom in the right building so we signed the lease in April with the lease stating the location/room and starting June 1st. She never sent anymore info about roommates once the lease was signed. We planned to move in the first weekend in June. June 2nd my son recieved an email with a new lease for another 4 bed apartment. The apartment is located on the 2nd floor and the bedroom is the smallest bedroom with the least light. They gave us a $15 credit for the new room and their explanation for the move was that a group of 4 wanted the apartment that we had a signed lease for and our son didnt find roommates. At no point were we told we needed to find roommates. We were using the roommate match they offered. When we called to discuss this situation Madison was very rude and said that per the lease they can move tenants at any time to any apartment and they would charge us if we tried to get out of the lease. Where were we going to go? His job started in a few days. That weekend we moved our son into the new apartment that we were told to move into via email. Imagine the surprise of the guy who was living in the apartment when we opened the door. NO ONE told him that our son was moving in so he had no idea what was going on. Not only that, the new roommate has the largest bedroom and is paying less rent than what they are charging our son. Also, neither the roommate nor our son were ever given keys to lock their individual bedrooms that have keyed locks. There are 2 empty bedrooms in the new apartment that are larger and have more windows. We texted Madison to ask if our son could move into one of the empty rooms and have never heard back. Horrible experience. Beware of this place.

Billy and Madison are unbelievable they have made this experience with these new apartments amazing. I’ve been counting down every day and stalking the cameras to just see the progress. My fiancé and I are beyond excited to move in and I wouldn’t want any other leasing agents to be there. They both have helped with making everything just seem easy and peaceful. The tour was amazing, the leasing process was a breeze, and they communicated with me every step of the way. It was almost as if they weren’t leasing agents they were just our close friends as well. No one can beat the deals midtown has to offer nor the agents there neither. This company deserves more than 5 stars lol.

Its raining outside, I have on urban wear (shorts and fleece) with flip flops. I see people in the back talking and they see me. I wait patiently thinking that someone with appropriate greeting would come forward. That was not the case. I dont know if its pure ignorance or lack of common sense? I make eye contact with an individual and they swiftly turn their head back towards their co-worker to rather finish the intriguing conversation they were having. Instead of making an issue of urgency to be greeted in the proper form, I just walked out and decided this place would not get my business. Proper business etiquette needs to be trained upon the employees at this establishment. 10/29/2020 between 1:15 to 1:45 pm time frame.

WISH I COULD GIVE THEM 10 STARS! Current Midtown is amazing. My Fiancé and I have been looking everywhere in Williamsburg but with the pricing and our high standards, nothing was as good as Midtown. The staff has helped us feel so welcomed and they have been nothing but the kind to us. Billy out of all of them has been doing an outstanding job answering all the questions(no matter how many times we call) although I’m not moving in until July, Billy and Madison have helped me feel like I’m already home. I’m so thankful for them. I’m so excited to move in to our brand new luxury apartment. I HAVE BEEN COUNTING DOWN THE DAYS UNTIL IM FINALLY HOME

Current Midtown Apartments has been a delight to work with- from touring me through the mock apartment, helping me to understand the leasing process, and leading me to the next steps of the process. I recommend this apartment complex!

Very professional and made it a quick process for my boyfriend and I as we were getting our first apartment! At this time(Dec 2020), they are still under construction, so we arent able to move in until May 2021, however, this wasnt a problem for us and being able to get all our paperwork done now made it less of a stress for me. We had the pleasure of having Madison and William helping us go through the paperwork process, and Roniche was able to stay later to allow my boyfriend and I get a tour of what the apartment will roughly look like(had something set up in their temp office) and we really appreciated being able to do it together since our schedules made it difficult to do so. They all took their time with us, answering all our ridiculous questions, and providing a stress-free process that I cannot appreciate enough. They offer 1bd/br to 4bd/br and you can rent by apartment or by bed(which works well if youre looking for something nearby W&M), which the rent includes all utility costs, furnishings, and internet as a plus! Also, I would assume once their construction is fully complete, all the amenities(24/hr gym, pool, hot tub, sports bar, and more) will become available too, so we cannot wait to check some of those out! The only downsides, which arent really for my boyfriend and I, but maybe for others looking to live here, are that: 1) While they allow pets, it costs more then what some other apartments in the area charge and the breed/size of pet can increase from $65(that being the minimum additional tent per month), but be mindful that the floors are not scratch-proof if you do bring a pet and 2) Anyone underneath the age of 18(tenant or guest) have to be accompanied or they are not permitted in almost all the amenities provided. Also, I am unsure on their policy on kids, but this community feels more dorm-like setting or childless couples then a family-raising one, since they provide tenants the ability to rent by the bed in the larger apartments. Personally, I do not see these two points as cons of this place, but I would keep them in mind when deciding to live here(and definitely ask them about these if you plan on bringing children or pets) I will keep my post updated as time progresses, since we wont be moving in until May 2021, but the process for getting our tour, getting approved, signing the lease, and paying our deposit was a wonderful experience and we are excited to be moving in :)**Also upon seeing a one star below about not being greeted at the door, I will say if you are interested in getting a tour or more information about this place, definitely check out their website and then either call/fill out the basic info on the website so they can contact you. Within a 30 minute time frame of filling out my name, phone number, and email on their website, Madison reached out to me and was ready to set us up for a tour and giving me rent information, confirming their information on the website and clarifying it as well. While I would assume walk-ins are okay, due to covid-19 and the size of the office, I dont think they would bring multiple potential tenants in at once(since that would go against the protocols to minimize the spread), but if its bad weather(or cold weather as it is now) honestly just call the number they have listed on the website and leave a message stating youre there and I am 99% positive theyll return the call as soon as they complete the separate tour. I just recommend setting an actual appointment and to have minimal patience in those situations and if its bad weather while you wait, just stay in your car until it stops and/or wait until they can bring you in because obviously people who have taken the time to set appointments will have priority as any other establishment would do with appointments vs. walk-ins.
