I like that the machines are able to connect to my Apple Watch - It’s really convenient for when I want to save my workouts. Also the facilities are (for the most part) clean, which is nice.My biggest issue with this place is that I don’t like how overcrowded the gym is, especially with other teenagers. Most of the time they’re obnoxious and take up all the machines. Sometimes they don’t even use them, they just sit there. Maybe if staff would ask those who loiter on the machines for too long the issue would be resolved. This wasn’t an issue back when I went to Midtown, so I’d say this gym is a step down in terms of quality.

The ladies in the child watch area are absolutely wonderful, and the Little Explorers/Tiny Tots program has been the best thing that happened to my son. He has blossomed so much since starting in January; in social skills, speech/language, and academic skills. His teachers are phenomenal! We tell everyone that they should bring their 3/4 year olds to the Weston YMCA for this program! The gym is also great. I love that it’s a complete mix of people, and thankfully lacks that typical intimidating vibe that most gyms give off. I feel comfortable here, which is a good feeling!

Matt Coppola, the sports director, never answers my emails; especially after we already paid for my son to play baseball. The YMCA has volunteer teenagers coaching the kids, and if parents have questions these teens are clueless. No adults around. Practice gets canceled for dumb reasons. We paid for 3 months of practice, its already been a month and theyve only met twice so far. Such a waste of our money. Also, my son, 12y/o whos in the YMCA baseball groups tried to go inside the building to use the bathroom and Micaela kicked him out because hes not a member. This is ridiculous! $276 for baseball at the YMCA and the kid is not even allowed to use the bathroom at the YMCA. I had to go pick him up so he can go home. Horrible service.Weston Athletic League is cheaper like $234 for baseball and thats definitely where were signing him up next time - instead of the Y. Nobody answers the phone either.I grew up going to the Y, and even used to work at the Y but theyre all about money now, and zero courtesy and customer service. Extremely disappointed!

An amazing place to get the family in shape! We have 3 girls and each of them like different activities. From volleyball academy to yoga classes to working out with dad, our girls have a wide range of activities to choose from to stay active and in shape. The staff and coaches are exceptionally friendly and helpful, the gym equipment are modern and the facility is spacious and clean. There is also this huge pool for all types great swimming activities and exercise. The YMCA facilities is right next to a park which is VERY convenient if you want to do some outside exercise or just want to walk around to get fresh air. We have made it our ritual to go to the YMAC several times a week which has made a big difference in our health and general attitude.

Our family has been a member of the Weston YMCA since 2009. We are an active family of five. Although, the two oldest are pretty much out of the house, now, my husband and I continue to enjoy use of the gym.Pros: They have a lot of nice staff members. The Family membership and extra fee associated sign-up classes are VERY affordably priced compared to Midtown Athletic Club which is really the only other comparable competitor. We have signed each one of our kids up for a sport, a camp and swim lessons at some point or another. There are great opportunities for teens. Ex: At 16yrs old our daughter took the Life guard class at the YMCA and was then hired. This gave her the opportunity to work at the Weston Y for 2 yrs during high school and two other Ys in Orlando during the first two 2yrs of college. The Y, also, gave her the opportunity to train as a swim instructor for a discounted price of $20 as an employee. Throughout her first two years of college used both these certifications and was always hired to return to the Weston Y during the summers as Ive seen other returning college kids be rehired as well. All three of our children have independently come with others friends that familys had memberships and worked out in the gym after they turned 13yrs. old. I feel this YMCA fosters good, clean, socially healthy habits for teens. Also, Cypress Bay swim team and Water Polo teams practice here which is great to watch from the pool deck. Im sure watching them inspired my daughter early on as she played in the childrens section. She joined both Cypress swim team and Water Polo. At some point while your working out you will run into your kids parent or parents and connect whether it is a brief hello or a 30 minute conversation. Between the gym and pool it has been updated at least a few times during the last 10yrs.CONS: I gave it only 4 stars because, yes, our family has also, noticed some of the complaints that others have reported to be true as well. I do wish a few of the staff had better customer service skills and the gym is too crowded during certain hours, mostly, during the school year. The sports teams seem to struggle at times because either they cant get parents to volunteer coaching or the sports director isnt very organized. we had one poor experience out of many great experiences with the sports.Overall, I definitely would recommend any young family to join. You can always quit.

In todays environment, Im happy that my child can attend a camp that allows my child to play alongside a limited number of children outdoors. What this pandemic has made apparent to us is that our child needs the interaction of other children. The YMCA is helping us achieve that goal in an environment that is as safe as we can achieve these days.

If they would have 0 stars i will use that. Where do I begin?1- I signed in online without any type of issue 4 months ago. I signed my son for swimming over the summer to only never use it due to weather and non refundable policies YMCA has.2- I have been trying to cancel my membership for the past almost 2 weeks to finally find out you could sign up online but only cancel in person. How convenient.3- I went to the YMCA in Weston to only be treated so bad by the Supposedly member manager Christine, she was rude and Made faces and was obvious not trained properly to give a good Costumer service.4- they charged my card for last month that I will not be using and they refused to refund my money because of policies that I didn’t read when signed up.5- overall member be aware you will soon find out how this company claiming to care for families only screw you when the time to cancel comes.Very bad, not trained member staff.

I love the gym but what I see and do not like for years is people that stack the weights on the machine and when they are finished just leave the weights on the machine for the next person to remove them that is not fair why don’t the Y assign a person specifically to watch and see who’s leaving the weights and have them remove it I also noticed that the women that have the responsibility to remove them has a very difficult time just myself and I am sure more members observation. My daughter plays volleyball here and this is the most unorganized place I have ever experienced. The one positive thing here are most of the coaches are awesome. The communication however by the Y staff is horrible. Last session they cancelled my daughters last game without any notice. I had family coming into town to attend this game. We found out after showing up for the game. It took them more than a week to reschedule it and when they did, there were no end of season photos and it was at a very inconvenient time. We pay for our children to play sports here and they are treated like this is the least important sport/event that occurs here. This season didnt start off much better. Again, we do like our coach, however the shirts all came in too small, so now each game we are stretching out her shirt so she can wear it. The games began more than two weeks behind schedule, so now we are having games two times a week to make up for it. These games are scheduled again at an inconvenient time. Our last weeks game, no referee showed up, so we played with no whistle and had to have a little boy keep score for the teams. Again I had family attending and they asked, they dont have referees here? This place has now embarrassed me twice with my family wondering where I have my daughter playing volleyball. To top things off there is a coach that I have been told has been coaching for years here and he walks around interfering with our coaches coaching and changes the rules of the games, which has completely confused these young girls who are just learning the rules of the game. My daughter who had been serving overhand perfectly has now been instructed by him (who is not her coach) to use her fist. She now does not know how to properly serve and cant get the ball over the net. As soon as she is a little older, we will have her play somewhere else where they take this a little more seriously. I could kind of understand some of these issues if this were free, but it is not.

If you are going to the YMCA in Weston now I have not been to the gym but I have gone to the pool now this is my experience.First of all I have to walk through a family locker room to get to the pool (no offense but its gross)They barely allow u to do anything at the pool u cant go underwater and hold your breath, u cant dive in a 7ft pool the only place u can ACUALLY go in the pool is the kids play area its is very small and about every single kid pees there the other places are for the swim team and for kids learning to swim. Oh did I mention you cant eat. *sigh* disappointing but true if I can rate 0 stars I would.

Pros: Clean facility, nice equipment, moderate membership price, no contract, good child care center.Cons: excessively crowded (sign up in advance for classes), swimming area is poorly managed (more details below), front desk staff acts inconvenienced if you ask them for information (like are their any kids exercise classes?, website is not informative (I know because thats what the front desk staff referred me to), child care times didnt work for my family, kids swim lessons overpriced for what you get (private lessons were suggested after 4 weeks of group lessons $$$), you have to cancel membership in person 10 days before the automatic charge or they keep another month of fees ($$$).The water play area looks so enticing. I was very excited when we first joined. It turns out that every inch of both pools and the splash pad are set aside for lessons, practice, or camps. The rule is that they have to keep one swim area open for members who just want to take their kids swimming, but we were mostly sent from one area to the next until they let us swim on the stairs. Also, be prepared to swim with your child if you have a little one. The splash pad is frequently shut down leaving once again, only the stairs or the little pool if you are lucky, but you cant sit on the stairs while your little one plays next to you, because you are required to be in the water with them. The ironic thing is that I have never seen so many managers in suits wandering around a swimming pool in my life. I was referred to them more than once when no one new where my kids and I were allowed to swim.Actually, I am a little sad. I used to be a big fan of YMCA when I lived in Central Florida, and I wanted to support them down here, but they are just another workout place.

If this is a gym aimed towards teenagers, why cant we do anything without having a parent present? My friend (a used to be member) and I ( a current member) tried to go today, and when my friend wanted to renew her membership, the lady behind the desk rudely snapped that she couldnt do so without HER parent being physically there! A phone call to her mother wasnt even allowed. I guess parents cant work these days, because having them physically there is CRUCIAL to being able to renew a membership. And what about those of us who carpool? The lady kept pushing that a waiver must be signed, without any explanation as to what waiver she was referencing. This happens quite frequently, where we cant enter without an adult, even though its a gym for all ages. Absolutely ridiculous.

The staff has always been very polite and professional but the problem is the gym itself. My family and I have been members for years and it ALWAYS smells like feet (of course a gym wont smell nice but it literally smells like they never do thorough cleaning/disinfecting, or clean at all for that matter). With the exception of treadmills and machines of that sort, all other equipment is scattered all over the gym instead of having designated areas for the body part you would like to focus on, not to mention that after 5pm you will see dumbells and such all over the place and no one seems to care or put them back where they belong. Also, the equipment tends to be male-oriented or for women over 6ft. Overcrowding is an every day issue (unless you go at 6am).
