Standard cleaning and check up with Abby who did a great job! The location handled COVID restrictions well and made me feel safe and welcome
On time, speedy, friendly s and professional services
I havent lived close to Merit Dental for over 6 years, yet I refuse to go anywhere else since becoming a patient more than a decade ago. Bridget and Dr Kindler (now Nicholson, I think?) Are efficient, gentle, and just pleasant to be around. Also, Bridget is always hilarious which helps my anxiety. I have chronic migraines that greatly impact my ability to get dental care comfortably. THE ENTIRE MERIT STAFF CONSISTENTLY GOES OUT OF ITS WAY TO ENSURE MY COMFORT. ALWAYS. My last visit, I needed a custom mouth guard that my insurance doesnt cover. Dr Nicholson worked with me on cost, giving me a generous price break. Being on disability, I cant express how much I appreciate that. Merit dental is just THE BEST in every way. Now, if you guys could just go around to my other doctors offices and help them all treat patients with the same overall care that you do....
Horrible experience. 5/19/2021 Got a flyer for a free spin toothbrush. Decided to call to make appointment. Asked if they accept my insurance and gave them insurance name and details. The lady that answered the phone said she had no idea who the dentists contract with. She told me to contact my insurance company myself to see if they cover their dental practice before she scheduled an appointment. I asked if she could just contact them but she refused.I thought it was odd her not knowing who they contract with. I was frustrated making me jump through hoops. She said they just don’t call insurance companies.I called the insurance and she said Merritt Dental not contracted but the insurance rep would find out who the dentists are. She placed me on hold and called the practice and later said I could see the current dentist there Named Dr. Nicholson & Dr. Garagiola and they would cover cleaning and xrays and 50% of fillings or root canals.I called the practice back and she scheduled me but said the dentist only wants to do xrays on first appointment but no teeth cleaning. I told her I had had a stroke and didn’t want to travel there multiple times for fears of falling as I’mA fall risk. I told her I had an appointment at the bank and can I please make appointment for teeth cleaning too.She then said first she must be sure my insurance covers everything and needed my insurance information and identification number. I gave her what she asks but if they have to contact the insurance company why did they bother to have me call. I thought that was stupid. She proceeded to ask me more questions of where I live and my address. I told her I was in front of the bank and didn’t want other people to here me give personal information out. She said to just call her once I’m in the car.I called and gave her my address and told her I want to come in for more than xrays. She later placed a woman named Kaitlyn on the line. I voiced my complaint to Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn was not apologetic but said since I’m so frustrated she will contact corporate to see if they even want me as a patient at this point due to all my complaints. I then get a call and am told they will not schedule me for anything due to all my complaints.I felt like I was in the twilight zone talking to these people.I then called to speak to corporate. They said they have no direct corporate line. She then said the dentist decided not corporate-he didn’t want me to make an appointment due to all my complaints.
Enjoyed my experience with my dentist Christine and her assistant Jada. Work done quick and painlessly.Professionals to the max! Thanks!
My hygienist is the best. She always educates me about dental care and is very personable.
Had a dental emergency for a fractured tooth, and dr. Kindler Moved mountains to get me in. The doctor and staff have always been wonderful and caring. Our family has been patients for close to 20 years and will continue. Thank you jada, Bridget, david, doctor kindler and staff for always doing a great job for our family!
The staff is always kind and I would definitely recommend Merit dental to friends and family!
Tammy is my all-time favorite...very clean, fast response, waiting time is nearly 0...definitely recommend to anyone looking for reliable dental service...
Was a positive and awesome visit to Merit Dental! Abigail was so professional and Doctor Nicholson is amazing. Five Star Service! Office Staff was helpful and professional! Doctor Nicholson suggested a plan never offered by any other Dentist to fix a long term lower jaw problem. Thanks!
Everything was great! Bridgette was great as alway! My wife and I have been coming to her since 2002.
I had been seeing Dr Retherford for over 20 years. When Merit Dental took over his practice, then subsequently forced him into retirement, the professionalism and attitude of the office staff dropped-off significantly. Dental staff remained great (especially Bridgette), however the attitude of the office staff has led me to search for a new dental office for my family.
Very kind and cheery staff. Every thing explained and dentist was very gentle with doing filling.
Love Merit dental! Everyone that works there is so friendly and welcoming. It really makes going to the dentist a lot easier!
It had been almost 8 months since I had seen my regular dentist and I had to switch due to insurance reasons, everyone was polite, the cleaning was gentle. The only problem, I am still waiting to receive the cost of what my insurance wont cover. My appt was at 3:00 I was done by 3:45, I told them I was leaving at 5 p.m. and told them to email me the cost of all the crowns ( of course ) they want to do.
There’s a whole new staff here. Jackie is amazing! Theresa, the lady who answers the phone sucks. Christine Freeman is the office manager. She sucks even more so I can’t really blame her staff!! She is rude and also does not know how to manage a business. I had an appointment scheduled for a Monday at noon. That same day, they called and said I’d either have to reschedule or wait when I arrived because my dental hygienists wasn’t in the office. I was upset by that because I was going on my lunch break. Christine, instead of being a good manager and coming to a solution she gets smart and says “well I’m sorry someone called off and who raised you” then she hangs up, calls back and leaves no voicemail. I call them back and Christine says “I left a voicemail you should check it” so I go off on her because she’s being smart for no reason now so then says “we’re dropping you as a customer for threatening behaviors” I advise you don’t go here because they may force you to reschedule due to their lack of staffing or drop you as a customer if you show that you’re upset in anyway.
The office manager was rude and hateful and mouthy she sent me a bill for some services from 2018 it is now 2020 for some reason they did not tell me the dentist at that time was not in my insurance plan. It Looks like by all the comments she needs fired she a would not let or my insurance company say anything What kind of a professional office does that to their patience. I will never go back.
My old dentist retired without notice and it seems as if there are all new faces in the office. Christine, the new office manager is awfully rude and unorganized. Office seems chaotic and as if nobody knows how to work the systems. After years of me loving Merit Dental I will be finding a new office. No longer will they get my good insurance money!!!
I was looking for a new dentist after moving to polaris area. I went to couple dental care and did some exams. I was not satisfied with their consultation. So I kept searching online, and then I found Merit Dental. It is not very close to where I am living right now, but the reviews are good. So I decided to try. It is very easy to make an appointment through phone call. And then I went to the clinic and have my teeth cleaned and checked. For a new patient, the waiting time is very short compared to other places. And the service is great. People in the clinic are very nice and patient. They really care their patient, and very honest about the treatment you need. I was very satisfied. So I decided to choose Merit Dental as my continuous dental care. Right now my husband also has his treatment here.
Without a doubt the best dental office that I have had the pleasure to work with. The staff are always friendly and their professionalism and expertise are outstanding. I lived in Westerville when I first started going to this practice. When I moved to Tipp City ten years ago, I could have chosen another practice in my area but I chose to stay at this practice. The drive is worth it....so if you are looking for a new practice, this is the one to call.
I was in this morning for 2 fillings that fell out. I had a Dentist (sorry, forget his name, Don I think) that was in from Louisville to help out due to the office being short staffed and he and his assistant were awesome! He asked if I felt I needed numbing (which I didnt think I did), rather than just doing so, and put in the 2 fillings very successfully without any pain. He took his time, ensured that everything was good and it was a fantastic experience. I dont mind be numbed if needed, but since he asked a few questions and didnt think he needed to do so, I appreciated this. Thank-you very much, it was a great experience!!
My wife and I have both been seeing Dr Nicholson at Merit for the past couple of years and are extremely pleased. The entire staff is very friendly and professional and they have been flexible in dealing with emergencies.
My dental experiences over the years have been absolutely magical at this place. Im not kidding; because Im terrified of Dentists (love Steve Martin in Little Shop of Horrors! Ive come a long way Baby! The appointments that I have now are no big deal. Tammy is my BFF!
Dr. Kindler-Nicholson always does a great job when I need my front tooth fixed! She is wonderful, and Brigitte is the best hygienist! I love coming to this office!
I have always had a wonderful impression about this dental services. Dr. Roger Retherford is a very friendly man and excellent dentist. The staff is friendly and make effort to go beyond the expectations of their duties to create a positive atmosphere for their clients.
I love the staff at the Westerville location. They always do their best to make me feel comfortable with what can be an uncomfortable (for some people) trip to the dds. Dr. Kindler and my hygienist Brigitte are always a hoot. Hopefully theyll keep my smiling for years to come!
Wonderful people, expert care. Very little waiting. I began coming here after my dentist of 30+ years retired, and I have never regretted that decision. Its a ways for me to drive (45 minutes), but its worth it.
Ive been coming here for many years; the staff is professional and very friendly. Dr Kindler is great to work with and brings a lot of knowledge and experience. Brigitte is my hygienist and has provided me quality care for years and always made me feel very comfortable. Ive always enjoyed her unique personality and decorations. I must say I am very disappointed that she no longer has her ceiling posters though. When I asked why, she mentioned it was not her choice but couldnt give more detail. Im guessing the corporate clowns at Merit made some sort of mandate.
Everyone is very professional and friendly. I was seen on time. The dentist was very kind and made me feel at ease. I would recommend Merit Dental to anyone, and already have as a matter of fact.
Wonderful experience overall from entire staff.....Brandi was exceptional and very attentive with my treatment. My dentist was very professional and highly skilled too.....Dr.Roger Retherford was excellent! !!
This office is great. The staff is friendly and efficient. I highly recommend giving them a try.
I wish I could give them 100 stars because I totally would. I had the most amazing experience with Stacy, my hygienist, and Dr. Nicholson. They were both so sweet and welcoming. I never felt embarrassed or ashamed to have my jacked up mouth looked at. They treated me with such kindness and respect and helped me get comfortable asap as I was in for a bad toothache. In less words, if you need a dentist, this place will have you enjoying a teeth cleaning before you leave. Thank you so much!
Ive been a patient for about 12 years and they have always been wonderful! Always on time and professional I would recommend them to anyone who is looking for a new dentist!
When Dr Rutherford and Renee were there this place was amazing! Unfortunately, this place has went downhill. Christine Freeman, the manager, is so rude and nasty. Also sad to say very unorganized and unprofessional. I had an appointment scheduled, things went wrong due to them being short staffed and instead of her coming to a solution, she offered to reschedule me or to just deal with the fact they called me the same day as my appointment to tell me even though I’m scheduled I will have to wait, I got upset. She hung up and then called back to let me know I’d been dropped as a patient.. I would not recommend you choose this office at all. Horrible customer service!
Had a visit yesterday, I have no issues with my tooth cleaner, I have been going for years and Bridget always does a good job. They informed me that Rutherford had retired, I felt like they knew he was going to do this and they could have informed me before I was sitting in the chair. The new dentist saw me and wasnt as nice as Rutherford and my biggest issue is when a doctor/vet/dentist, a professional I go to for their honest opinion in a field I dont know about, uses his/her position to start selling product. I was told I needed a toothpaste that costs $22/tube and what do you know I can get it at the front desk. Dont use your position to push product. You start crossing that line of do I really need it or are you trying to make a few bucks. I refuse to go anywhere that includes a sales pitch as part of my appt. I left a vet for exact same reason.
I love this Dentist office they are so nice and try to be so accommodating. I love my hygienist too, she is awesome and does a wonderful job cleaning my teeth.
Bridgette and Dr. Kindler are always very friendly. The care my family and I get is excellent. We have been patients for many years and will continue to be for many more.
I have been going to a dentist for many years and felt that I was not taken care of, honestly taken advantage of. I was in need of a dentist in my network and came across Merit Dental, and was completely blown away. The service that they provide was over and beyond what I have ever experienced. Dr. Kindler was very thorough with her intial exam and put me at ease with transitioning to a new dentist. If anyone is looking for a new dentist in the area I would highly recommend Merit Dental. Their staff are friendly and the wait for appointments are very short. Check them out!
I lost a filling two days before I was to leave on a week-long excursion to the Grand Canyon. Merit Dental got me in the next day, and Dr. Kindler replaced the filling less than 24 hours before departure time.
Outstanding Dentist & quick service under emergency times. Been a patient over 30 years & my wife. The best!
First visit there for X-rays and a cleaning: fast and not at all painful, as it has sometimes been the case at other dentists in the past. Nice, friendly service.
I started going here based on a recommendation 10+ years ago to see Dr. Retherford based on his quality and painless service. I have been so happy with the quality, service, and professionalism of Dr.Retherford and ALL of his staff that I too have recommended friends and family. Over the years the business has changed and additional Dentists have joined the practice who have also been of equal caliber. You can not go wrong choosing Merit Dental of Westerville. I love them and appreciate their personal and caring touch. Im no wimp but I still want the most gentle dental experience I can get. No one gives a less painful Novacaine shot!!!! Choose right! Choose Merit!
Weve been going to this office since we moved to Columbus. My kids are now 17 and 14 and were 2 and an infants when we started with Dr. Retherford. At my last appointment, just yesterday, I was sad to learn Dr. Retherford was gone and that the best front desk person, Renee were leaving. The office seemed a bit crazy and stressed. I didnt care for the way the dentist that saw me spoke to me. Considering making a change after all these years. Kind of a bummer...
Have been using Dr. Retherford and his associates for the past 7 years and have always been very satisfied with his services. Yesterday I required immediate services after experiencing several days of symptoms and was able to be seen in less than one hour. After a thorough inspection, it appeared the source of my discomfort may have been linked to a sinus problem (of which I received some good advice upon, also). Dr. Retherford explained what the most likely of possibilities were. 24+ hours later I have returned to more normal conditions. You usually dont think of your Dental Services on an ER basis, however, its nice to know that theyre available.
Last week I needed to have a molar replaced by a crown due to part of the tooth breaking off. I have been patient at Spring Grove Dental Care for the last two years, but this was the first significant dental procedure that I required. I recalled that having a crown made and installed would take time, and I would experience some degree of discomfort. Dr. Christine Kindler and her technician, Stacy, completely eliminated my misapprehensions. In two hours, they diagnosed, modified the damaged tooth, molded, and fine tuned the temporary crown with a bare minimum of discomfort. I have experienced more discomfort in having fillings done at other dentists than I did on this occasion. Dr. Kindler and Stacy frequently asked how I was doing and made clear how I should signal them if I did not feel right. They exhibited a high degree of professionalism while demonstrating a caring and personable bedside manner. I definitely felt I was in good hands. So I recommend Spring Grove Dental Care without reservation.
Excellent service as always. Dentist and staff made me feel at ease throughout the appointment.
Very pleased with hygienist Brigitte. Very displeased with temporary doctor that saw me. Was not told that my regular dentist (Dr. Retherford) wasnt there anymore either prior to my appointment or at the check in. The temporary dentist did not introduce himself. He even came in during my cleaning to tell the hygienist that she forgot to do something on the computer for a previous patient. I felt this was rude and interrupting to my cleaning. Very unprofessional not to mention embarrassing for the hygienist to be scolded in front of a patient. I feel that now Dr. Retherford has left (whether voluntary or not - I dont know) the practice seems to be more interested in making a quick buck on patients instead of truly caring for the patients like Dr. Retherford. Ive been going to this practice for 15 years. After this visit, Im not sure I ever want to return or refer anybody.
Friendly, prompt, and professional. I have been a patient of Dr. Retheford for almost 20 years. I have every confidence in his practice.
Kind, helpful, gentle...explain everything well and work with me to help me have a healthy smile. :
Anybody that rates this as a less than perfect review, simply can not be satisfied. There is no better service in Columbus.
This is a very good dental office. Everything is timely and the staff are both friendly and competent
My husband and I (Sandy Pelok) both go to Merit Dental in Westerville. I go to Dr. Kindler. She is the best dentist. She is always pleasant and kind. When I have an urgent need she is always accommodating and knows her stuff. I highly recommend Dr. Kindler for your dental needs.I, Philip, had gone to Dr Retherford for almost 30 yrs. I was not told that he left the practice before my appointment to apply a crown and they tried to put me with some guy I never met. I find this very unprofessional. I went to Dr Nicholson, who is very professional and caring. Her assistant David is also very good and professional. My hygienist Bridget is the best. Since Dr Retherford and Renee, who ran the front desk, are gone the office seems to be in disarray. That feel good experience and laughter that you used to hear are gone, too. I am seriously considering finding a different dental practice.
I have been a patient of Doctor Roger Retherford for twenty plus years. His entire staff is very friendly, professional, and they make you feel like a close friend or family member. My grandson and granddaughter are patients of Dr Christine Kindler and they really like her. They especially enjoy the gift box that Rene has when they are ready to leave. If you are in need of a dentist I highly recommend Spring Grove Dental Care in Westerville. Bridgett is our hygienist and we love her.
It is a shame that we didnt receive the kind, caring treatment yesterday that we are accustomed to receiving by the attending dentist. This time Dr. Kindler-Nicholson felt it was her place to diagnose my child with non-existent psych problems because he was apprehensive at the mention of braces. After a long talk with a Patient Representative directly connected to the Dental Director at Merit Dental, it seemed beyond obvious that this situation was very preventable if Dr. Kindler-Nicholson would have used discretion, compassion and humility in her verbal communication. After our dental appointment, I calmly and honestly described what will occur at an orthodontic consult (what Dr. Kindler-Nicholson did not do) and my son is perfectly fine with it Lets go, Im in he says. So, tomorrow, off we go to the orthodontist without fear. I hope Merit Dental can assist and counsel Dr. Kindler-Nicholson to ensure that no other family feels shunned and discounted the way we felt yesterday.
Good job 👏🏽
I have been going to this office for years. The doctor I was seeing retired, and I was not notified prior to my last visit. I saw Dr. Nicholson. It took me saying something 3 times before she believed that she was causing me pain when drilling an old filling. She seemed rushed to get finished and move on to the next patient.
Pleasant staff and very professional!
Get yelled at a lot for no real reason, other than flossing. Every time I go there they seem to get upset at me for basically nothing. I have never flossed before, and prior to my last visit, in the last 4 or 5 visits, I have never had a cavity. Now, nothing changed, and I was told that I had 2 cavities. this creates a sense of mistrust with me. this is exactly why I hate going to the dentist now.
They listen and are very thorough.
Excellent dental work and very friendly staff.
Great for kids!
