I just finished their 6-week diet and exercise challenge at RetroFit. My goal was to lose 20 pounds, which I was able to achieve even with traveling for work in the middle of the program. The trainers are extremely supportive and well informed. They have designed a fantastic program that is scientifically designed to work if you follow their plan. I highly recommend this gym and their trainers to anyone, no matter your level of experience.-Jason

I recently did the 6 week challenge at Retrofit. My goal was to lose 6% of body fat within 6 weeks. A first, I was very pessimistic about this idea. Rob convinced me that it was very possible as long as I listened to the instructors and followed their diet plan. To my surprise, I did just that and received amazing results. I managed to lose 7.1% of my body fat! I was incredibly shocked & thrilled since I was never able to do something that drastic in my life before. The instructors were all incredibly supportive of my goal and made sure to keep me hard at work and staying on track. they helped me by reminding me to keep sticking to my goals. I have a great foundation now on how to approach my fitness and nutrition and I have Rob and the team at Retrofit to thank. Coming to the classes was very enjoyable & everyone was incredibly charming and sweet. Thank you again Retrofit! They hhave given me so much confidence and taught me that if you stick to your goals, you can achieve them.

Recently completed the 6 week challenge and the workouts are no joke. HIIT classes are fun and transformed my body. I recommend taking classes with Amber, Jason, Holly, or Sebastian. These trainers helped push me to get the best workout.If you are looking to get in a great sweat and meet your fitness goals then I would say give Retrofit a chance.

The Retrofit 6-week challenge was great. I lost a LOT of body fat and even seemed to gain a bit of muscle at the same time. The workouts were fun (at least as much as a HIIT workout can be) and the trainers were always ready to give a little advice on form. The diet was strict, but had a little bit of room for variety. The trick is to just get used to the meal prepping and stick to it so you have food throughout the week. I really appreciate Rob putting up with my occasional questions and concerns regarding the diet.At the end of the program we had a consultation with James H which was really helpful. He knew more about the structure of the body and my mobility issues than any trainer Ive worked with before.In the end, I saw lots of upside and little downside in doing the 6-week challenge with Retrofit. It goes by in a flash and worked well. Thanks!

I participated in the retrofit 6 week challenge and enjoyed it thoroughly. The classes offer a variety of movements and exercises that keep you engaged and focused. The hour classes seem to go much faster. You leave energized and feeling great.I lost 12 pounds and 6% body fat. The diet was difficult at first, but once you begin to see results, it becomes addicting.I would highly recommend retrofit, the challenge, and any of the instructors. They all have unique styles and each of them are enjoyable.

The instructors were all incredibly supportive of my goal and made sure to keep me working and on track to stick to my goal. I have a great foundation now with which to approach my fitness and nutrition in order to reach my goals.

Retrofit is AMAZING! For the past 6 weeks, I came to just 3 of their HIIT classes per week, followed a very reasonable meal plan given to me at the beginning, and voila! I was able to hit my challenge goal of 20lb and then some. Honestly, the awesome people running and working at this gym made it feel easy. Each trainer teaches class in an upbeat and positive way and encourages you to push yourself just beyond what you thought your limits were while providing key tips to help you maximize each exercise. The culture throughout the place is very supportive overall - It begins with the trainers and all the staff but carries through to the clientele. It felt great to know I wasnt alone in reaching for my goals and to be able to celebrate the smaller, daily victories (mine or others) with those around me. Def have to mention the cafe up front, which provides delicious and healthy options that can work into whatever workout-friendly meal plan youve got going on. Retrofit is a gem and I highly recommend it!

I would highly recommend Retrofit, a fantastic gym with amazing coaches, and especially their 6-week program. Their holistic approach to nutrition/wellness really helped me achieve my goals and this was honestly a life-changing experience. I honestly loved retrofit. I joined the 6 week challenge and was skeptical a first...but I ended up loving my experience there. The trainers were all fantastic and were motivated to giving the best experience possible. With so many gym options in our city it can be hard to decide where to go. I began my research and narrowed it down to a few locations. After meeting Rob and seeing the incredible location I knew I was done looking. As a professional I dont have much free time and I really appreciate the intense, but not intimidating approach to each class.The team is AMAZING, seriously. Every trainer is dedicated to giving you the best experience and guiding you if you need to make adjustments to your level. Since I had never done this type of training I was a little nervous, but every class was exhilarating and fun. You definitely need to come to class hydrated to keep up. If youre ready to place your health as a top priority, go and meet Rob. Dont think twice about signing up!

Retrofit definitely kicked my butt in a good way. The HIIT classes are intense and no two are exactly the same. All the trainers make sure the exercises can be adjusted depending on your personal fitness level, so youre really just focused on going g harder than you did last class. Really nice community feel to the gym, not to mention that there are several classes a day so its easy to fit into any schedule. Good facility, clean machines, great people.

I just completed the 6 week challenge, and am very pleased with my results. My goal was to lose 6% body fat, any time I’ve done a diet or attempted a challenge like this it’s always been about body weight..this was cool because it gave me a way different approach. I ended loosing 7% body fat and lost 11lbs.The diet really helped me have a better relationship with food, no cutting carbs or fat completely from your diet which is helping transition into maintaining the weight loss and keeping good habits.The workouts are so fun! I went to classes taught by mostly Christian or Cassidy (both absolutely amazing!)And they are always changing it up and creating really engaging and challenging workouts. The classes were generally smaller which was great because it gave a lot of personal attention.I feel absolutely amazing, I did this challenge with my boyfriend and he too hit his goal and feels great. Highly recommend this for anyone wanting to create lasting results.

Clean and welcoming facility.No foul gym odors.Classes are small enough to allow the instructors to properly pay attention, correct posture, and be attentive to injuries/special needs.The instructors are energetic and encouraging without being annoying, overbearing, or intimidating.I kept to the diet and exercise stipulations with no cheating and I was successful in overshooting my set health goals!This was my introduction back into exercise after having reconstructive foot surgery. Every instructor was conscious of my restrictions and offered alternate mobility options. I started the program stiff and ended remarkably more limber.I always felt encouraged and never felt pushed to an unrealistic level. I took the later in the day classes for the smaller class size. I am very introverted when it comes to exercise and I liked that no-one was doing the same thing at the same time. This allowed myself to focus on my bodies movements and not be distracted by others.I followed the program for what it is. A diet and exercise-program that is set to improve health and lose weight. The diet is based on survival and not flavor or convince.

Signing up for Retrofits 6 week challenge was the best decision Ive made this year. I went through every excuse in the book why I shouldnt (Im older, weaker, injured, out of shape, exhausted, too busy ect.).All of them were excuses.The staff/ coaches helped me get on the right nutrition plan, stay motivated, and enjoy dropping 20LBS in 6 weeks, and altering my habits for the long term.I successfully hit my goal (while having a week of travel during week 4), and will continue coming to classes in the future, and I highly suggest you do the same.

Their 6-week challenge was just what I needed to get started for the summer and going forward. The classes are intense, but worth it (I recommend Amber in the morning). The diet was easy to follow, and the grocery photo requirement kept me accountable so I wasnt running out of food and being lazy/ordering out and ruining the diet. At the midpoint, I was falling behind, but with Robs advice, I got back on track and ended up losing 22lbs. just in time for the 4th of July!

Like several others in the reviews, I completed the 6-week challenge successfully. I can say without a doubt that this was one of the best decisions I have ever made to kickstart a new year of health and fitness. At the end of the 6 weeks, I lost 20 pounds, and almost 8 percent body fat. The workouts consist of some of the most wonderful instructors you can find, making the training fun and engaging. The meal plan is also a game-changer, and is incredibly easy to follow. The accountability aspect of the program ensures that everyone is on-track throughout the challenge, taking the mystery out of progress.Special shout-outs to Cassidy and Christian for their enthusiasm and positivity. Id also like to shout out Rob Radosta, a knowledgeable expert who went over the plan and answered every question I had with a sincerity not often seen outside a TED Talk.If youre interested in jumping into a fitness challenge program, I cannot recommend RetroFit enough.

Ive made quicker progress here than any other routine I tried. I took the bulking program for the 6 week challenge and was recommended to take classes from Rob, Christian, and Joseph because their classes would fit my goals better. 6 weeks later, not only did I reach my goals, I surpassed them and gained 12% body mass. Ill admit that those six weeks were not the easiest; however, if you are committed, you will be able to reach the goals set forth with Rob. The staff is supportive, friendly and approachable which made this experience something I highly recommend for those who want to reach new fitness goals. Think twice and realize that this is something for you! Ive never sweated more and felt invigorated after one of their classes. 10/10 would recommend

This is a great facility to get a great workout in! I’ve been taking HIIT classes here for a couple of months and it’s been a brilliant experience. Clean environment, friendly staff, positive atmosphere, what more do you need! All the coaches are excellent and have their own styles; I’ve predominantly trained with Rob who has definitely pushed me to help me achieve my desired results. Would highly recommend trying this place out!

Retrofits 6 week challenge was a great experience and chance to try out this fantastic gym. Rito, Casaday, David, Jason, and the rest were always friendly and energizing, and the workouts were innovative and used uncommon equipment. Rob was always quick with great diet advice, and in the end my fat-loss results were incredible! I was also hoping to improve my cardiovascular endurance and these workouts definitely helped with that. To top it all off we had a quick consultation with James who was super knowledgeable and gave me some great advice to help me with my hip mobility. Five star experience all around.

I and my friend have spent 6 weeks great time in Retrofit for the 6 weeks challenge. Before this, I never thought I would like to enjoy in a gym but Retrofit has completely changed my mind and body. I was 142.4 lbs when I started the challenge, guess what, I am down to 124.4lbs now and lost 7.5% body fat. It’s not a unreachable goal, if you follow the diet plan and HIIT class, you will see the magic happens on you. Retrofit’s instructors are very knowledgeable, highly motivated, and other workers are super nice too!If your goal is just like me for loosing some weight and get more fit, Retrofit is what you are looking for!!!

When I initially signed up I was a little hesitant, wasnt sure if I would fit in or enjoy the community, well I loved it!! I started the 6 weeks challenge, a bit skeptical of what my results would be. My initial weight was 164 lb in my goal was to lose 6% body fat, Im happy to say that I was over my goal lost 12 pounds and 8.2% body fat. Although the classes are unlimited I attended to only three classes a week. I learn about nutrition, how to eat healthy and how to grocery shop better, in the end I ended up saving money on food which is also a really nice thing. The instructors and the overall staff are lovely and really know what theyre doing, and the sense of community that builds up in each and every class is just unbelievable. I was amazed with the results and there was no better way to start off my year, I completely change my body and my mind set in only 6 weeks. Will keep going as a member for sure for a long time!

I did the 6 week fitness challenge and have only positive things to say. The program came with a meal plan that was fairly easy to stick to, and unlimited training classes with great instructors. My goal was to lose 6% body-fat, and after 6 weeks I had lost 9%! My favorite part of the gym is the community. From the trainers to the other class members its great to be in a space with so much support and so little judgement as we all work towards meeting our goals. The facilities were always well kept, the energy level was high, and I cannot recommend this place enough!!!

I signed up to do the 6 wk challenge. Its been a long time since Ive consistently worked out so I knew I was going to have to put in the work. There were a lot of places in town to do the challenge, but I just loved the vibe at RetroFit. The staff, the trainers, and the members are so upbeat, fun, and supportive. I have several injuries so the trainers always made certain that I was doing everything correctly and/or providing modifications for some of the movements. Best part is that I met my goal of losing 20 lbs! I found the diet to be flexible, but it did take some adjustment as I had to go through my own personal detox of letting go of sugar. It was well worth it! I highly reccommend this gym for either doing the challenge and/or joining as a member for fitness.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. The trainers at the HIIT class are amazing and the classes are super effective: 3 rounds of different exercises and movements each time, so it doesn’t get boring and your muscles really take shape. I especially love Amber’s and Christian’s classes, and of course Rob is also a wonderful coach. Love it here!

I recently completed the free 6 week challenge at RetroFit. The program was fairly comprehensive and helps to build a good foundation. The program is only free if you hit your goal, at which point they return your initial investment. It isn’t terribly difficult to hit your goal if you follow the other requirements.If your BMI is 28 your tasked to lose 20lbs. You also will join a private FB group, and check in for each class, you’re required a minimum of 3 classes per week. You also post weekly photos of your groceries in the group.You’re assigned an accountability coach and a nutrition coach who will give you a meal plan, grocery list, and cook book. Your accountability coach will call you weekly and help you tweak things if you’re not on track for your goal.My goal was to lose 20lbs and I ended up losing a total of 22.6lbs. I got my money back, and would likely continue with the classes if I wasn’t moving out of the LA area. All in all it’s a solid program and a great deal/value if you hit your goal. A great way to get yourself back on track with a 6 week jump start.

Did the 6 week challenge -- SO THRILLED. They lay everything out for you at the beginning so you feel comfortable with what youre getting yourself into. All of the instructors are aware of whats going on, and you are able to check in with almost anyone that works at the studio. The classes are a lot of fun.I will say -- if you like the glamour of fitness, like so many studios have in LA (ie. Barrys, SoulCycle, etc), this is not the place for you. Self-motivation is key in these classes, as some of them have only 3-4 people in them. I love this, and the instructors are able to really watch form and assist in any way that they can.The nutrition was the hardest part of the challenge but I lost over 6% body fat in 6 weeks - so their methods definitely work.ALSO...all of their trainers are hot...which is always a perk.

Awesome experience! I was able to complete the challenge with my friend and we had so much fun. I’ve lost 6% body fat, my friend lost 7,5% for just 6 weeks. Isn’t it amazing? I have lost weight, feel stronger, and am more confident than I’ve ever been before. This challenge has been life changing!To see a group of people come together and achieve there goals was so amazing. I loved coming to every session ready to go to work with this group of inspiring people. All the trainers were so knowledgeable and fun, every staff were super friendly. They motivate you and truly care about your success and its a very non-judgemental environment! I felt so welcomed. Thanks all trainers for all your hard work, kindness and patience. I saw the 6-week challenge ad on Facebook and thought, “Free classes? Cool. Sign me up!” They did, and I finished it. In addition to a popping 6-pack, sharper jawline, and loss of 8.5% bodyfat/21.2 lbs, it was the unexpected benefits that affected me the most:-The almost complete disappearance of my recurring back injury pain (I’ve had to literally crawl out of other circuit training places). The instructors provided multiple modifications for every exercise and vigilantly helped me maintain proper form. Shout out to Rito for understanding where my body was with just a glance.-The ability to sleep like a normal human. I haven’t been able to fall asleep before 2AM since middle school, but the regularity required for the challenge (I took class every other day) and the strict diet (I usually eat whatever I want, so yes, it’s strict) forced me to eat only during the day and knocked me out by 11P. I can get up early without an alarm now.-A set routine. I live the gig life. There is no consistency or predictability. The challenge forced me to use class as an anchor for my day. Even with an uptick in work around the holidays, I was able to get the workout in, do the jobs, and get paid. All while maintaining some semblance of sanity.I could go on. The facilities are functional without being intimidating. The staff is lighthearted and attentive. The results are real. Get into it.

I was especially impressed with Christian Cinalli and Jason Abner - their focus and determination helped me achieve great results. I was motivated thru the entire experience and planning to come back to their program again. Also, very clean facility and healthy bar. Taking the 6-week challenge at Retrofit was one of the best decisions Ive made! Rob helped me understand the commitment I was making up front, encouraging me to go all-in on the diet and leverage the workouts to burn fat and build muscle at a reasonable pace.The workouts definitely pushed me physically, but even more so helped train me to change my mindset and develop good exercise habits. The trainers were fantastic - even with full classes, I felt like I was getting the personal attention I needed. Some of the exercises were awkward at first, and the trainers were quick to correct my form. Other days I just needed someone to yell at me to work harder, and they were more than happy to oblige :)The diet was initially pretty rough for me, restricting basically all fat and sugar with very low carbs, but I soon found it to be very manageable (anything is doable for 6 weeks!), and have adopted many of the principles following the challenge to sustain the gains. The private Facebook page was also helpful, since I didnt have to suffer alone :PIn the end I completed the challenge successfully, and was really happy with the results. I would gladly work with Retrofit again in the future, and only decided not to renew my membership because I was moving to Culver City. Im now looking for a gym that will compare!I cant recommend Retrofit enough for anyone whos looking for a gym thats fun and challenging, and who wants to jump-start their fitness habits in a supportive, structured environment.

The last time I had an intense physical activity was 8 years ago. I never visited the gym in my entire life, and I just finished the RetroFit 6 week challenge and lost 6.1% body fat and went from 159 lbs to 151. The trainers at RetroFit WeHo are just AMAZING and super professional, the HIIT classes are so good and challenging, and the great equipment they have to support that.

I signed up for Retrofit’s 6 Week Challenge after seeing a post on social media. This seemed like a great way to break out of my comfort zone and try something different. I was in need of some way to get a handle on my weight and fitness at age 54.Following an initial weigh-in and orientation meeting, I was given a goal for weight loss. The guidelines were simple, and included attending a minimum of three classes per week, and to use the cookbook provided.Following their meal plan was easy. It’s not as much a diet as a change in the way you eat, and combine foods.As nervous as I was at my first class (never took a HIIT class before), the nerves soon subsided. The trainers are warm and encouraging. They allowed for modifications to exercises based on each person’s abilities. Classes are challenging and butt-kicking. I was soon able to achieve things in the workouts I never thought possible. It was great to work with the various trainers. Each of them have a different style and their workouts vary, which is a great way to mix it up and keep your body guessing, and keep change happening.I actually exceeded my 20lb weight loss goal—lowering my BMI and body fat percentage—in six weeks!If you want to burn fat and tone muscle, while working out in a fun, supportive environment, run don’t walk to Retrofit.

I join the 6 week challenge program and I recommended. The instructors that teach the classes are great. They motivate you to work harder when you are working out (and trust me is not by yelling next to you). I had positive results. But here are my pros and cons.Pros: community in the gym is great. All the staff are very friendly. If you need to take a shower after your workout the restrooms/showers are clean. The class times offer are perfect. When I was doing the 6 week challenge they had classes that were offer very early in the morning and late at night (7 days a week). I like the fact that during the 6 week change they give you a recipes that you can follow and trust me is real good food. Accountability is great. The staff that support the program do check in with you (like a total of 3 times in the whole 6 week). So they are not calling you every day. Although the staff only contact you 3 times (well at least to me) I could always contact Rob if I had any questions. The staff are able to accommodate the exercise if you have an injury.Cons: Depending on what time you have you class you might not be able to find free parking. But the meter parking is not expensive is like $2 an hour (which is all you need if you are going to your class). That is the only con I have.I really recommend this place.

RetroFit has some of the best HIIT classes I’ve ever taken, hands down. I took Jason’s class one Sunday morning and was HOOKED. The HIIT classes here consist of 3 rounds of 10 1-minute interval workouts with 15 seconds to move between stations. It’s fast, challenging, but very fun.If you’re seeking a great workout that will change the way you look and feel, look no further. An added bonus is the community of friendly and motivating individuals ... and a delicious cafe in the front!

24lbs down in just 5 weeks...absolutely absurd results which I didnt think were possible. This challenge is worth every minute, calorie counted, and amount of effort that you put towards it. Being an ectomorph I have always struggled to gain weight. I was so scared that this 6 week program would failed like my fitness efforts in the past. But not at Retrofit! Yes classes were hard to start with, but well supported by Rob and the other trainers. They explained and corrected the form of the exercises so that I could get the most out of the classes. Together with the nutrition advice I have gotten, I have successfully gained 17 pounds in 6 weeks! A great start of my fitness journey!

The challenge at RetroFit was everything I needed. The classes had a mix of fitness and ability with everyone supporting one another. The instructors where great with each having their own style.I never really experienced classes that where too full. As a taller person space can get tight between the workouts, but that too just keeps the brain sharp.In taking the six week challenge I went from:186.6 lbs18.3% body fat22.7 BMITo171.2 lbs11.3 % body fa20.9 BMIThe diet was by far the biggest challenge for me especially with all the good food being brought over with the newborn. I joined the 6 week challenge. I loved the HIIT classes- all of the trainers were upbeat and supportive. They really helped me get to know my body better and helped me challenge my endurance and strength. The diet I was assigned was mostly easy to follow and taught me a lot about portion control.I was mostly disappointed in the 3 week review. I was extremely discouraged and de-motivated to find that I had lost 0% body fat after sticking very closely to the diet assigned. I was told that it would be unlikely I would lose much body fat, let alone the required 6% in the final three weeks of the challenge. I continued despite that, and tried to make adjustments (like doing more workouts and changing up some of the meal options) and in the end I lost three pounds and 4% body fat. This earned me $200 of class passes.Overall, I really enjoyed the challenge and learned a lot, but for women, it is very difficult to lose the 6% in the six weeks allotted.

I signed up for The Retrofit 6 Week Challenge because my girlfriend wanted to take the challenge and I thought I we might as well do it together. I can say now, after completing the challenge and reaching my goal, that it was an awesome experience! Rob and his team of trainers and staff give you all the necessary tools to succeed. The HIIT classes are high energy and intense and there’s always a feeling of comradery between everyone in the class. The trainers push you to give everything you have but are friendly and right there to help if you have a question about how to perform an exercise. The meal plan is easy to follow with portioning and recipes that make it easy to meal prep and keep costs low. They also add in an accountability aspect which I found to be invaluable. The team does everything they can to make sure that you’re set up for success. Working out at Retrofit caused me to create healthier habits which I have continued to implement even though the challenge is complete. I feel better physically and mentally overall. I also completed a Tough Mudder obstacle course last week that I would not have made it through without the training and habits that Rob and his team instilled. I have to thank Rob personally because he works tirelessly to make sure everyone has what they need to succeed. Whether he is training, responding to social media questions, performing check ins, being supportive, etc, the guy is always working and is always available for his clients. Since signing up at Retrofit, I am more active, make healthier choices, and feel great overall. Thank you to Rob, the staff, and my girlfriend for the changes that you initiated!

I’ve been coming to Retrofit in West Hollywood for the past 6 weeks. You’ve probably driven past this place hundreds of times without really knowing its there, on a stretch of Santa Monica Blv that is part of ones daily commute. But once you’ve stepped inside and taken in the level of activity, you’ll never forget this place! The gym is split into a variety of different functional areas. A HIIT room, a cross-training / resistance training gym floor, a MMA space which faces Santa Monica Blv and a convenient café. It sounds like a lot, and you’re probably wondering how you could miss it….but like everything else in this place that make highly efficient use of the space. It’s a cohesive, well thought out plan and gives everyone a chance to try different work outs and constantly keep the body moving.I spent most of my time in the HIIT room, working with a variety of different coaches. The classes are mean. In the best way possible! 10 stations, 1 min work, 15 sec rest, move to the next. Doing three rounds of these leaves you gassed but yet refreshed. With an always rotating set of movements and challenges, this has been one of the most effective workout regimes I’ve ever had. The body has no chance to fall into a point of complacency or repetition, as things are constantly changing. Your heart rate is always up, and the energy in the room is contagious. Can’t recommend this space enough.Combined with the other amenities, Retrofit is a great community workout space that is welcoming and encouraging to all. There’s even a dedicated parking lot out the back, plus a guy there who will wash your car while you work out (told you they had this efficiency thing down!).

I had just moved to LA about 5 months before my history with Retrofit and I was a bit hopeful that id magically start living the LA stereotype of green juices, avocado toast, kale-bowls and fitness-consciousness. The reality was that I instantly settled into the OTHER LA niche of 24hr donuts, drive-throughs and taking a car to get to the end of the block. Cut to months later, burger-heavy, fed-up and a bit atrophied, a chance Facebook ad caught my eye, touting a 6-Week Fitness challenge with a very feasible goal of losing 20 pounds or a *6% body fat (*I think its 6%).Why not? In 6 weeks I could either spiral further downward or see what can happen with some accountability. So I signed-up.Rob McGillivray was the perfect person to represent the challenge because he is down-to-earth, English (therefore has a good sense of *humour (*our is the English spelling)), and spoke super confidently about what is reasonable to expect from the exercise and diet plan. The rules were that I needed to attend a minimum of 3 classes a week, follow a diet plan, weigh-in weekly, share my weekly grocery purchases, and have a quick weekly chat with an accountability coach.I was sold on the diet plan and accountability element of the program. I wanted to be told what to eat, when to eat, what to buy and understand the reasoning behind it. That is what the challenge provided. The diet uses foods for building muscle, fuelling the body throughout the day, clean ingredients and gives you a SHOPPING LIST!!!! On the diet, I never once was hungry or for want of something that the food choice couldnt provide. There were some hiccups as my challenged lasted through Halloween and up until the week of thanksgiving! On a side note, I havent experienced a proper Halloween in 7 yrs as ive been living in the UK so I couldnt help bingeing on a hefty pile of candy ive been missing... That aside... I felt gross afterward, but it was easy to get back on track and I was only met with encouragement and confidence. I had a renewed desire to get back on track and stay there. I still follow the principles of the diet, its that logical and easy to follow and I dont have to make as many grocery decisions!The exercise classes are HIIT (Hight Intensity Interval Training) 45 minutes of 1min on and 10 seconds break, moving through 10 stations 3 times with variations on each exercise. It was easy to get into a rhythm and understanding of how the class works. The instructors were fun and were good at checking in and correcting technique. Overall Retrofit fostered a very good vibe and motivation all around and it was easy to drink the kool-aid! I loved turning up, being told what to do, doing it, then getting the hell out of dodge and on my way.Here are my results (keep in mind I am 33, 6ft tall, lazy, Italian heritage with a body type that is well-suited to hard labor...I am the perfect grunt worker to call to help move your furniture). Ive included before and after pictures below!Starting stats:Bodyweight - 220Body Fat - 30.5%BMI - 29.8Finishing stats:BW - 193.8BF - 23.5%BMI - 26.3I havent been less than 200 pounds since high school.All in all I lost 26.2 pounds!!! They kept me working hard but it was also a bit like going with flow and following directions. I HIGHLY recommend Retrofit and taking advantage of all they are willing to do for you. I feel strong, capable, sexy, motivated, and I am leaps and bounds closer to living what I expect an LA life would be for me! (Which is a good thing!).Thank you to Rob and everyone at Retrofit!

I cant speak highly enough of Retrofits Hiit classes. They are intense and rock you to your core. First class was difficult, but as I went more and more, my body got more and more out of it, the toning and fat burn results are undeniable.The instructors are highly knowledgable and will individually challenge you to go harder and stronger. The all-around positive environment is encouraging and vast range of body-types in the classes there prove that this for anyone, whether you want burn fat, tone, or even see some gains.Note : these Hiit classes ARE intense, but the feeling of accomplishment of completing one far supersedes the fatigue

I did RetroFits 6-Week Challenge. I signed up with Rob McGillivray, one of the owners and he could not have been nicer. Ill start by stating this. I was extremely out of shape. Its very easy for me to yo-yo diet. Ive done the master cleanse several times and lost as much as 14 lbs in a week. Ive been on Isagenix for almost two years and lost 20 pounds in a month only to put it back on.With these fad diets the moment you are off them, the weight comes back quicker and you regain more.I was pretty desperate when I walked into RetroFit 6 weeks ago. I saw the challenge on Facebook as an ad. I had nothing to lose. My starting stats were Bodyweight - 196.8 lbs, Body Fat - 30.2% and BMI - 28.3%. I was chubby. Add to that my high blood pressure and it was not pretty. As of today, my stats are Weight - 175.8 lbs, Body Fat - 26.7%, and my BMI - 24.5%. Thats a loss of 21 lbs, and 3 1/2% Body Fat. Its amazing. I worked very hard.Rob provides you with the tools. You can take as many of the group classes as you like. But you must take at least three a week. They give you a meal plan tailored to you, and you need to follow it! Nutrition is key. Abs are built in the kitchen as much as through sweat in the gym.The classes are what sells RetroFit, in my opinion. They are people of all ages, races, shapes, and sizes. Everyone is cool. There isnt any of that elitism you find in big gyms. If youre like me, thats important. Ive never been a gym person, and I find them intimidating. Not RetroFit. The classes are cool, and the people are welcoming. I wanted to go back regularly.I worked out with Amber, David, Rob, and Sebastian. Each was great and very different. I wont lie. It was tough. Some days I thought I couldnt make it, but I did. And because I kept coming back, working out got easier week after week, and I am stronger.I won the challenge. I get my money back. But the best thing is Ive brought a package, and Im going to continue. I like it that much. Operation Abs By My Birthday is in full effect!

I really like going here for the HIIT classes. They are great for packing in a good workout in a short amount of time. You don’t need to spend hours and hours to get results here. The trainers are all very friendly and mix up the exercises, so each class is something new. I particularly liked Cassidy, Amber, and Joseph’s classes. I learned tons of new exercises after only going here for a few weeks.The diet and nutrition advice were also very helpful. I have always had trouble gaining weight, but Rob gave me a very easy-to-follow nutrition plan. I was able to put on a lot of muscle with minimal fat gain in about six weeks. I would definitely recommend coming here is you are looking to gain but need guidance and are looking to minimize fat gain.The facility is nice. They have a nice shower area in the locker room, so you can go here and then meet up with people afterwards. The upstairs area is also very bright and sunny, so it was nice to take the yoga classes up there. I did not try much of the food in the café, but they have a seating area where I was able to do work before class, and the WiFi was very fast.Retrofit is great. The classes are a lot of fun and the staff is very helpful and provide great help to you as you work towards your goals.Pro tip: There is a parking lot a block west that is never full. It’s easy to just park there and then work out.
