Mr. Ueber,The manager (young man, black hair, looks Italian) at 24 Hour Fitness West Hollywood (8612 Santa Monica Blvd.) is HORRIBLY RUDE! Luckily that location will soon be taken by another gym, but under no circumstances should the current 24 Hour Fitness WEHO manager continue his company employment. He should be thrown out and forced to undergo behavioral modification training and probably electroshock brain therapy to become kind and friendly.Plus, there was no soap in the shower!Plus, a young, light-haired female front desk employee ordered me to pull up my Covid mask to my eye area. I replied that WE BREATHE THROUGH OUR NOSTRILS, but the female worker and manager refused that logic!
This location isnt the worst location, but it isnt the best location either. Lets start with entering the facility. As soon as I entered the facility today, there was a young lady there with blonde hair that basically went out of her way not to be hospital. She didnt speak, did not maintain any sort of eye contact, nor did she acknowledge that I was a member and touring her facility. Then, they no longer have towels, so thankfully Im wrong my own along.I love the actual equipment upstairs, as it is very dependable and up-to-date. The locker room is touching go, because the last time I was here it was completely dirty. This time, it was somewhat clean, but they still have a lot of work to do.The spa area could be nice, but the maintenance guy that was there this morning clearly didnt put any energy into cleaning it correctly. I sat there and watched him as he basically tried to sweep most of the dirt onto the second Patio near the pool. Why he didnt just use a dustpan to collect all the trash that he swept up? Beats me!Also, when youre leaving this gym, dont expect any of the front desk agents to say bye. They are totally checked out of the facility and checked into what coming out of their mouth. Its a great facility overall, but the administration and the people that are operating it I could use a sprucing.
This is probably the best 24 fitness ive been to. place is very clean, equipment is new, and staff is very nice (some good looking too!). this gym has many members in their twenties so its easy to make friends and find romance lol. many comments are complaining about starring but this is a gym in the middle of a gay neighborhood, what do you expect? Parking is great. love this location and would definitely recommend becoming a member.
Very nice place and they have plenty of locations as well as good clean equipment, the only reason Im giving 4 stars instead of 5, is because plenty of guys staring at me and trying to talk while Im trying to workout, I dont know if Im the only person but I feel like maybe the gym should announce from time to time or have some signs saying please be respectful to each other or do not interrupt each other unless you know them or something like that. That would be awesome.
Big gym with heavy dumbbells, Not crowded during peak hours
My gym for over 20 years. Perfect location.
Friendly staff.Equipment dirty and way outdated.Men’s lockers halfway destroyedIt appears the staff cleans as much as they can to make it a bit more usableParking validation availableAnd touchless check in with phone app.
There are several people working out with masks under their nose, some under their mouths and others with their mask under their chins. 24 hr fitness does NOT enforce mask rules as strictly as they should. There are some little paper signs about masks that nobody reads on a few of the mirrors in the gym and that is it. There should be larger signs warning those who dont abide that they will be asked to leave. 24 hr fitness should be taking this pandemic more seriously and enforcing rules more stringently!!
Very clean, has everything including an outdoor patio. Very affordable and consistent hours.
Friendly and professional.Great staff.
Ooof this one is extra grody. Good luck.
They are NOT 24 HOURS for starters, the showers, lockers, and jacuzzi are all closed now that they finally are open! Those are the only things that I use and theyre closed but Im still stuck with the rest of my prepaid membership in two year contract that I have NOT been able to access in over a year and a half!!!
I appreciate going above and beyonce for our safety but I cannot run a treadmill with a mask on. I had to cancel. Understand the policy tho. Best of luck
Equipment is NOT being sanitized regularlyPeople sitting idle on machine using phone not exercising.NO MORE FREE TOWEL SERVICEYou have to PAY to parkI NEVER see any type of cleaning in bathroomsEmployees too busy socializing instead of walking around making sure YOU are using equipment correctlyHaving to ask for fans to be turned on (employees are cold so they “forget”Drinking fountains where the spout is has pink mold and water warm
They just rejected my free pass, but they offered me many other options to pay. I got free pass over official website, not sure how much this is fair!
The location is great and the staff is friendly. It’s really annoying that they stopped giving towels out though. This was the main selling point. They said it was for environmental reasons but I find this hard to believe. They also raised prices and the parking costs more. Still a good gym but they’re cutting services and raising prices.
Alot of work out space and equipment. Can get somewhat busy during peak times around 6-8 pm or so. Big thing I think is they need more chest fly machines they have one ..not enough. Pool area is nice with jacuzzi, swimming pool, sauna, steam room and lawn sun chairs. I think locker room is well kept and place is nice.
Broken squeaky scratching machines...
It’s an okay gym. -1 star because they actually close, then don’t open until 5 am. I have to drive to NoHo or to the one off of Vine IF it’s open. (I go to the gym early early). -1 star....good luck with the equipment. The Women’s locker room stays fairly clean tho! Which I appreciate. Awesome staff
I was a member of this gym for nearly 2 years. I stayed so long because it was convenient but since I relocated was very happy to move on. The front desk staff was always friendly and welcoming, but the gym overall is very poorly managed. The locker rooms, steam rooms, and saunas are disgusting. I never once saw the dumbbells organized, its like playing hide and seek with your preferred weight. Most of the cardio machines are badly in need of a tune up. The humidity level on the second floor is so bad that the abs room was closed off for weeks because of mold growth. With the volume of people that are signed up for this gym, they could be doing so much better.Management if you actually read this, a couple of small steps of pro-activity would go very far and make it look like you are doing a lot.In summation, if you are in dire need of an inexpensive gym and live close, this will provide what you need, but if you have other options Id recommend looking more closely at those. And by the way, if you are wondering, the gym isnt actually open 24 hours.
Get better customer service people who don’t get annoyed when a customer ask them a question. A simple questions shouldn’t be replied with rudeness and a sassy attitude.Management please remind your associates that they are getting payed to treat people nicely ....
You know, i might take half a star off because things could be more perfect (the showers are sometimes broken too long, the steam room sometimes smells a little, the elliptical machines need to be leveled), but mostly I really love going to this gym. After the MAJOR redesign several years ago, this became my primary gym, and I really like it. I almost never have to wait for equipment (being flexible with your workout helps), the classes are fun (especially Body Pump), the showers all have doors and mostly good water pressure, and the redesigned pool area is fantastic!! The steam room is always hot, the jacuzzi is huge and hot, and the pool itself is large, and doesnt feel like it has any chlorine in it at all, but feels clean too.And all for a pretty good price, especially compared to the competition.
I really like this gym. The staff is always helpful and in great spirits; they are welcoming with a smile when I get there at 6am. I like the open layout of the gym, and it has a great assortment of machines. Even when its crowded, the gym feels spacious..seldom do I have to wait for any machine, bench, or rack. I am happy with my decision to go with this gym!
Im not a super sport member, just a regular 24 hour sport member (apparently). Staff was nice enough to inform me as such, and they also let me in free for the club my first day there (I did appreciate that). I bought my gym membership at Costco and know that there are some limitations to it.Place was bigger than expected, nice facilities and machines. They have a basketball court (half-court) which I didnt get to try. All in all, decent club as far as 24 hour fitness gyms go. I would recommend
Excellent
For the 2nd time in a month, I’ve been here between their business hours posted on their front entrance and stated via their phone number and both times have been closed far later than their times and name suggest. Make the effort and go to another location or gym.Currently, it’s 0628am on Sunday the 22nd and yet, there is at least 15 people in workout gear waiting to get in.
This is probably the only gym with all sorts of equipment in that area. Its also conveniently located across from all famous restaurants. Therefore people can come to the gym and eat afterward.
This is obviously the step child gym in Los Angeles area for 24hr Fitness. Older equipment means more stuff broken down than working. No Octane lateral cross trainer while they have plenty of other cardio machines... Just a fair amount not working. The workout areas are typically clean and tidy. Showers are better than the Hollywood area. Outdoor pool is nice. People are friendly. Now the bad. The bathrooms are disgusting. 4 days in a row they were lacking toilet paper in stalls... ALL OF THEM. Out of hand soap at sinks and in showers. I mentioned these to management and she seemed interested in fixing it but next day same thing. I feel I pay good money for my membership, but they could do better as a gym.
No towels starting August 31, 2019. Classic cost saving initiative masked by a feel-good green/sustainability narrative. Ill be switching to a different gym.
Really great
Good deal here, the equipment is up to par and its a gym. Exceeds my expectations!
It’s a big gym and pretty nice, but they have someone working behind the counter named Manny. He did his very best to be as unhelpful as possible. He insisted on seeing my ID and was unable to find my guest pass. He continued to be combative until one of the other employees helped me. Ironically enough, he was employee of the month. He is a terrible face for this business.
I used to live nearby and I signed up for the gym. I told them I was there temporarily and asked if the first payment that they charge could be used for the last month I was there. They said yes. I reminded them a month before I was leaving but they still charged me for the month and never returned the first payment back. Basically, I used the gym for 3 months but paid for 4.Emailed them a million times but they never replied. And as I was in a different country already, I couldnt do anything. But they wont let you pay in cash. I hope some other gym will or if not, at least be more honest.
Is this a mental institution or a gym? There are at least a dozen if not more regulars who should be institutionalized. If they aren’t lurking all over the place trying to talk to you, they are checking out their misshapen bodies in the mirror with a sense of disillusionment reserved for serial killers.
Not a great gym. Poorly maintained, and employees are not invested in giving a good customer experience. Horribly managed, but this is also just the company culture. Seen multiple locations with little to no concern around cleanliness but this one stands above all.
Love this gym. sweetest staff super helpful. I always feel safer over there than on vine.I never have a problem here ever! Other reviews are not good. Its in a great neighborhood too!
Not great, but also not horrible. The main issue is the people but they cant control that. Overall it feels like a hotel you see on a family vacation except on a larger scale lol.The front desk people save it for me because theyre all really nice and pleasant most of the time.
A total disaster
Employees are peeking in the shower on the guest. That is unacceptable. I dont know what they are trying to do. If they want to catch someone doing something or whatever reason. But this is horrible. Mind your own business. As much as I like this gym that part of it is terrible and changes my whole perception of that gym, I think I must call the head office and report that their employees are spying on the guests in the shower.
A giant obstacle course. Always looking forward to working out here to start the day right. Club Manager is always welcoming to everyone!
This location is awful and I will never go back! Its not the facilities, its not the business of the location, it is the poor customer service I received from the service manager and from the membership managers. They were extremely rude to me, would not take or return my call, and were difficult to work with. Management is key and if this part lacks like it does then everything else will eventually lack, too. The 24 hr location in Hollywood with service manager Allie will be a better fit for you if you are looking to be taken care of and treated with respect.
This gym is just fine. I have no problem with letting people work in with me, or asking to work in with someone else, but its a bit frustrating that they only have one of certain machines. Of course, not being open 24 hours is a bummer. The worst thing is when I had to freeze my account for financial reasons. I was informed that I had to freeze my account at least 10 days before my next scheduled payment. I understand that if Im not paying the full rate, I shouldnt be allowed entrance to the gym, but thats 10 days that I already paid for that Im losing out on.
Never seen a gym be so rigid about a guest pass. I just moved to California and haven’t gotten an ID here. However I do have a job and offered to provide proof of residency that way with my paycheck. They declined. I was then told that I could pay $25 for the pass and did so. However it is not a 3 day guest pass, only one day for $25 which is insane considering their monthly fee is only $45. It also wasn’t very clear to me that I was paying for JUST ONE DAY. They didn’t even have an area to do your ab workout and I couldn’t find an exercise ball either. Boo. Don’t do it.
I wouldn’t go back to this gym unfortunately. I got a 3 day pass to try out classes. I booked an 11am yoga class and arrived there 5min before class to check in. As soon as I asked for help to get checked in, one of the lady staff asks me for proof of California residency (even though I just moved to LA). She wouldn’t let me get to the class unless I spoke to a membership manager and show proof of residency like a bill or apartment contract. Pretty awful way to greet a new customer who just justwants to try a new class and see if the gym is a good fit. Thankfully, another staff member helped me but provided odd quotes for membership which another member told me he pays less than what they would have charged me on a monthly basis hmm.
I worked on the remodel of this place in 1961--62 as an apprentice electrician when it was the Beverly Hills Health Club for Men. It was owned and operated by and for the LA Jewish Mafia. It was in the county, WH was not a city then, and lo and behold, the permit process was expedited and unencumbered. We made it into a very nice place for that time period. One of the members, the guy that played Ben Casey on TV, Vince Edwards hired me and another guy to do a bunch of under the table work at a house in Palms that he owned.
One of the busiest gyms in the city, with a very cute and varied clientele. This is branch has more limited hours of operation than some of the hour 24Fitness locations. Please pick up your towels on the way out! Thanks :-)
Putrid. This is a daily sight, no matter the time of day. Ive never spotted any staff actually cleaning the restroom. Sometimes toilets will be out of commission for weeks, and 3 out of 6 of the sinks havent been working for weeks either.I wish there were more mid-range gym options in LA because this is bottom of the barrel, and Im not overpaying for Equinox.
Great place! Nice area! Great area to cruise the machines as they have many of them.
Even the planet fitness have more equipment than they do. Place is like puzzle. They dont have any free weights. No bench press no squat rack no nothing. Very hot not enough ac and its completely waste of time and money. They charge first and last month too. So if you cancel your membership they still charge you one month more.
Great facility. Clean, nice atmosphere, nice clientele. My one criticism would be that they have trouble keeping equipment where it belongs. For example finding the appropriate handle for the cable pull-downs can be a challenge and sometimes impossible.
This must be the worst gym in Los Angeles. The area is fantastic and the people friendly but the structure and the gym dates back from the 80s! Its very ugly and I doubt there is a health regulation in the the toilets and showers.. Wow! I can not believe that in a such area and modern world we could have a so prehistoric dirty and stinky gym. Overcrowded to the limits and just dark! 24hfitness we are in 2018! UPGRADE! Consider to add $2 dollars for parking everyday which makes 60$ plus (if you workout more than 2 hours a day) on top of your membership fees.
If I could give this place 1 star I would. They scammed me of money for months over charging me a price that was NEVER charged anyone else. They then suspended my account because of a glitch IN THEIR system that refunded them my money back to them without my knowledge then they suspended my account which I didnt mind as I wanted a rest from the gym I was TOLD IN PERSON THE account was only frozen and would be frozen for 6 months and to unfreeze it all I would need to do was pay my monthly membership fee (the fee that was over charging me remember) I WAS THEN TOLD I WOULD HAVE TO PAY $160 to re initiate my membership I WAS NEVER TOLD I WOULD have to pay that amount only my one time membership fee of $54.99All of this happened mind you because of a fault in their system that over charged me one month then re funded me that same amount which they then used as clause to suspend my account. I never asked for my account to be suspended EVER I never asked for my account to be OVERCHARGED OR REFUNDED.This is the WORST dont go here ever
A lot of space. Pretty clean. Nice employees. Could use a parking lot. Other then that is great
They overcharged me one month while I was there on vacation (I paid upfront it’s not hard to NOT screw it up), and 3 months later have t paid it back despite me calling over 5 times. Idiots
Dirty staff seems not to like to clean and or they dont hire people to clean. Its really simple to clean and keep up on maintenance but doesnt seem like they care. Think they are banking on people who get memberships and dont show up, bad business model!
I love this gym because of the cleanliness and the service.
As much as you could love going to the gym, I dont. They replastered the pool and jacuzzi. I love how they have towel service. They do run out on occasion but theyre pretty good at restocking it. Reason for the one star is when signing up they dont tell you about the 12 month commitment even though there is an option to not have it, also there in a $50 annual fee. After all those charges you would think the machines would not look so abused. I havent been able to go back at this location in almost 4 months and the closest 24hr to me is an Active ($26) monthly, Im stuck paying $47 monthly until November. Calling customer service will not help. Not great service, besides what you can get in the lockers. I hear it everytime I would take a shower. Wear sandals people. Just a warning. @24hrfitness
No complaints really, gym is fully stocked. biggest downside: paying $2 to park every time you go, and street parking is more. you end up paying double your membership if you use it often.
Probably the best 24 in Los Angeles. Clean facility. Good location. Towel service is a plus
Definitely one of the better 24hr gyms. Complimentary towels and a hot tub and pool
Way better than it was. New equipment and badly needed new locker rooms. Nice lobby too, and the staff are friendly. I like it.
I love this gym but I absolutely hate the staff. The only desk person who is amazing is Michelle, shes hekpfuk shes kind and always says hello. The personal trainer Dan is amazing, even when hes not working he is still talking to guests and being helpful. The rest of the staff needs to go especially Brian. 3 times in one week I had negative experiences with Brian the last straw was when he clapped his hands at me and said time to go some of us want to go home mind you it was 30 mins before closing and Im not a dog you dont clap at me. Time for some new staff.
2nd time in 2 months waiting outside in the cold at 7 am waiting for doors to open. Somebody is sleeping in again.
Its all right, not bad. I think they could be open a little later (24 hours would be convenient) because the gym gets pretty poppington at all hours and that can be really annoying. It is relatively clean and the staff are nice. Decent equipment and they respond quickly to a broken machine complaint I placed. The parking situation is obnoxious, however (you still have to pay $2 after getting validated) and there are a LOT of people at this gym just putzing around, in the way, not really doing anything and taking up space.
This is one of the smaller 24 hour fitness locations. You will be dealing with a lot of snooty members in this high end area that complain - in cadres - about the most minor issues. Corporate has no say in the matter - as useless as jock itch - so forget about any resolution if you have an issue with any of the fragile, insecure and unhappy front desk squad. Additionally, it is NOT open 24 hours so it is the weakest link among the locales of gyms. Very cramped. Entitlement issues galore amongst the more senior members.
No towel service on August 5th even though it is clearly says that it will be terminated on August 31st. !I came here to swim! Horrible seservice seeing
Great place to work out. Ive been a member since the 90s. Machines are newer and maintained, and plenty of free weights are available. Locker rooms are cramped and poorly designed.
Good gym, but too often hand sanitizers and paper towel dispensers are empty
They revamped the leg room which I really like. Well done!
Its close to my house and serve its purpose. The locker room (which I dont use often) could be cleaner. All equipments are working and in good condition.
You get what you pay for. Its cheap, has everything you need, its fine. They should keep it cleaner though.
Extremely rude staff, we came for the 3 days trial and they refused us for no valuable reason. This was a bit of a waste of time...
Decent gym. The locker room arrangement is interesting. Nice outdoor pool area.
At the end of 2019, parking just went up from free for 3 hours to $2.50 for three hours after the building owner changed out the parking system. Its not 24 Hours fault but its also a cost cutting measure that they dont cover it like the removal of towel service. If you go to the gym 5X a week, at that frequency, parking costs more per month than my membership.
Favorite gym, modern equipment, clean facility and great cohort of people.
I love the steam room, it gets very hot 😉 in there.
Its the cleanest gem in AL. Huge, nice
This is the cleanest gym around. It is well-maintained. The staff is friendly and accomodating. The pool is clean and heated and on a great backyard deck. The steamroom is always steamed and only a little smelly. As it is in West Hollywood mostly only guys, gay guys, go there but they are very friendly, non-competitive or hung-up, and have a classy sense of earnest self-respect I dont find in the other gyms. I dont get it but I like it. Esp., since they dont try to convert me. It is Im okay, youre okay, here. The only real problem is the hours: the wet area closes at 10PM, the gym closes at 12 during week and 11 on wkends. It opens at 6AM.
ZERO STARS......This place has really gone downhill over the years. Definitely wear shower shoes, because youre likely to get a fungal infection and DIE. Stop hiring people to wipe down cardio machines when the rest of the place requires more attention. Ill for sure be documenting and taking pictures to show people how disgusting and messy this location is. They DONT deserve any new members. Here are a few reasons why you shouldnt sign up at 24 Hour Fitness:1. Its disgusting...check out the showers and locker room areas.2. Theyre always out of soap in the showers3. Youll likely die from some sort of fungal infection4. The staff are always new5. They might have a maintenance team....MIGHT6. Consistently out of towels...dont offer the service if you cant keep up7. You pay for parking8. Wifi offered....but never works!9. Lots of pervy old men playing in the showers10. Lots of pervy men playing with their goodies in the showers.11. Pervy old men in the steam room12. Pervy old men in the sauna13. Pervy men all over......................
Very few re-rack weights properly.Serious ones are few. You can always tell by the respect people show. This gym has no respect for others from members.#TRAINHARDERTHANME
A super sports that is this small, mismanaged, and disgusting?Ive seen Planet Fitness gyms better than this gym....
Great staff, lots of equipment, quick towel service. This place is the best 24 hour fitness.
Thx for the enjoyment for one of the nicest and friendly gyms in the West Hollywood/Beverly Hills neighborhoods!
I showed up at midnight hoping I can get back into my normal workout routine, only to discover they are not open 24 hours a day like their name implies. After swallowing that sadness, I had to soothe my disappointment with a slurpee and 40oz mickeys from the 7/11 down the street.
One of the worse gyms! It’s always dirty and a lot of equipment is always broken.I only go here cause it’s two blocks from my house but I’ve been thinking of going somewhere else.
Ive been going to this gym for years.. and I mean YEARS!It needs an upgrade! There are only few stairmasters, 4 or 5, so its very hard to get on one of them and most of the time one is broken. The equipment is really outdated.. The cables need to be replaced.. They almost have lost the tension in them.I saved the best for the last:SHOWERS:DIRTYDIRTYDIRTYOh boy... SO MUCH HAIR.. everywhere!I go to this gym almost everyday; the staff is nice and I get my workout in if I go at the RIGHT time .. it does need a facelift though.
Discounted parking from $12 to $3 for 2 hrs, Worst mens locker room- no toilet paper, broken stalls, no shower privacy, dirt all over locker room, dirty hot tub full of bubbling black dirt... I never seen anything like it and its a Super Sport.. Joke...
Avoid it if you can afford a better option
Very clean, comfortable and a lot of good equipments for every needs ..Also very friendly service !!Like it !
Theres a cockroach infestation problem going on right now. Theyre in the lockers, the hallways and everywhere else. Fumigate this place ASAP. Plus a lot of the cardio eqpt is broken down, not working or well maintained.
Not clean, but ten times cleaner than bev hills 24hr fit on pico- whst a dump! And they dont care after logging complaints
You feel like your in a Box ! no free parking. The regulars stare at you like, what r you doing here ? Not to mention the locker room, lots of cruisers if u know what I mean .
You cant hear the music in your headphone over the music coming out of the club speakers (I complain to the manager David Mawer who was rude and said he wasnt going to do anything about it)...gives me a major headache. I would steer clear if your a strait male ive been going there for a year and Ive been propositioned to take a shower with some of the other members 3 separate times. And speaking of the locker room I walked in the bathroom a couple months ago and one of the toilets had overflowed and there was fecal matter on the floor that people were stepping over. I went and told the front desk and I dont know the guys name but he works at night, hes dark skinned fat with a hipster goatee said it wasnt his job to do anything about it. Ive talked to a few people there who have dealt with this guy and said hes extremely lazy. The last complain I can think of is when you take a shower the shower goes from freezing to scolding as other people turn on and off their showers.
Super location &, amenities only flaw Not open 24 hour
Worst gym in the area. Try Golds or LA fitness. Broken machines, rude staff, moldy locker rooms. $25 for a guest pass. Thats the same as their monthly rate. Such a high price you would think they could afford to clean something or fix a machine.
Between the hours of 8-9 AM Im banned from using the only available floor space, Pilates Balls, pulley machines, & TRX from the West Hollywood gym. A large area of the gym, where these things are located, is roped-off for a class that is only attended by 2-3 people. When I complained about not being able to use the equipment I paid to use, the new Manageress told me to change the time I come to the gym. When I explained that wasnt possible, she smiled sweetly & said there was nothing she could do: Its new Company Policy.I have been a loyal member of this gym for over 4 years. I cant use the equipment I need (& neither can my Trainer, btw) during the time I am at the gym. Perhaps if they force enough people to leave, they will realize that the new Company Policy isnt working & will get rid of it.
