I purchased clothes that were too small from Ralph Lauren and they sent me return labels/postage for free. I go to this UPS Store and they charge me $11.00 to print out free postage. I go to Staples and I didnt have to pay a penny.Stay away from here!!!
Very disappointing summer storage! I basically paid $700 for them to squeeze and damage my belongings. Avoid them at all costs.
If it was possible to give 0 stars, I definitely would! This UPS store has the audacity to charge $2 for one piece of tape. I came back with my own tape so that they dont meet their pathetic tape quota. DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION, or go if you want to give them a hard time :)
$4.95 + tax for printing a shipping label. Do I have to say more….
I kept giving this place another chance because it’s right by the Whole Foods where I shop all the time. But not anymore. I’ll be driving miles farther from now on to get my quickly scanned amazon returns sent back and my much needed money refunded. This west Hartford ups location will not care if you have a quick drop off, or if the line is so long they have to yell for people to stand outside in the cold rather than using that time to ask some of us what we’re there for or whether they’re trying to move the line along, anything nice. Nope. They’re basically slumping around behind their counters whispering to eachother and moving so slowly I feel like they’re actually rewinding.ANY other UPS is better, kinder, quick, skillful, strategic, awake, funny, outgoing, efficient, polite. Or you can go to this UPS and enjoy being ignored and treated like a burden. They act like people are there for fun instead of helping people who desperately need to send things. Don’t subject yourself to this store’s abuse, don’t stay and take their treatment, leave and go to a different UPS. It will be worth the drive I promise.
Extremely slow and rude ! Came in with pickup number was told i need a tracking and an ID to pick up my item never again will i use this location
Terrible customer service. Stood in line outside with other customers to follow covid rules they have posted. It was 4:52pm when they close at 5pm on Saturdays. Employee came out and told us they were closed and would not take our service. When we told them the time we were threatened that they were going to call the police on us. AWFUL!
They charge you $2 if you need to have your package closed up. I went to a different ups earlier in the day and they had several tape rolls on the tables for customers to tape up your package yourself. I understand it’s just $2 but they are definitely taking advantage. Definitely not worth going here.
Just terrible experience. Managers couldn’t help at all. Customer service rep and manager kept changing their story. Def need to hire people that know what their doing.
Basically the worst UPS place Ive ever been to. So much so I will go out of my way to go anywhere else. Theyll charge and price gouge you in every way possible. An amazon box, fully put together, needs a piece of tape and they want 2$ for it. I know its just 2$ but in the middle of a pandemic .... really. I wouldnt pay just out of principal. Brought the box home and used my tape (.002 cents max) and will not have to return to the store, endangering myself and their employees ... again. The individual stores control these rules and prices, not corporate. I already reported them for it. Its in the power of the consumer to change behavior like this and prevent stuff like this from happening. Take you business elsewhere and prove to them their actions and arent ok. 2.2 stars for this place is being nice frankly. Ill bring my boxes and other shipping needs to any other company/store from now on. The owner of this place should be ashamed of themselves.
The staff here is incredibly friendly and the service is quick. This is my favorite UPS drop off store!
Charged me 2$ just for tape. No other UPS stores charge this. Poor customer service.
Rude staff! Veryyyy annoyed when you do amazon returns. Never helpful and very dismissive. No empathy and charge you to close a box even if amazon says you don’t need to. Refused to help me and said to call amazon so I had to call amazon and they were so kind and understanding and just credited me the order and said keep it. Amazon = great, this UPS location = awful! I wish we had somewhere else to go in town.
$2 for taping a small package? I can see why this place has 2 stars. Go to the one in Glastonbury where they would do it for free.
I wanted to post a review of the 1022 Boulevard West Hartford UPS location because of the excellent support and customer service that I received in July 2019 from a young woman named Mallory (I hope Im spelling that right. My apologies for any misspelling). I came in with a large, heavy package to ship cross-country in the last hour before the store closed. Because of a technical issue on my end, I had a lot of trouble sorting out my online-generated shipping label.Mallory was tremendously patient and helpful throughout the whole process. She gave us advice on resolving our shipping label issue, balanced answering our questions with attending to other customers, and walked us through our best packaging options. Mallory even called a manager to make sure she could offer us a simpler, less expensive packaging option. She didnt kick us out right at the store closing when we just needed 5 more minutes to finish prepping for shipment - she let us finish up while she did some end-of-the-day tasks. Mallory absolutely saved the day and saved us a tremendous cost and logistical burden. We sincerely appreciate her assistance and excellent customer service, and I hope that the UPS management recognize and reward her fine work.
Was really happy with the service the lady at the desk. After reading the reviews I was little unsure but no!!! These guys are nice and really helpful. This is my second experience with ups and honestly they are really good. Blode female, kudos to you !!
The employees at this location share a single brain cell.
Pretty close to the worst customer service Ive ever experienced. A simple Amazon return turned into an associate yelling at me for 5 minutes about how I owed him money for packaging (I tried to take back my package to tape it up myself, and he told me once he scanned the return code I was obligated to pay $2 for 1 foot of tape). Do yourself a favor and drive a few extra miles to a different UPS location.
I’m usually on board with other reviews but I don’t get the very negative ones here. I’ve been dropping off returns to this UPS for years and have never had a bad experience. Super quickly, in and out. I get why they would charge for taping your package - that’s on you to do and costs them money. I wouldn’t hesitate to come here for your shipping needs
If you have a labeled package - AVOID THIS STORE AT ALL COSTS - slowest service ever - unless you enjoy waiting on line for 30-45 minutes to drop off a pre-labeled package. They need an “express line” for people dropping off labeled packages but no, you have to wait behind people who have to package and mail items and fill out forms etc. - they see a long line and don’t seem to care or make it faster, not good customer service. You are better off driving around and looking for a UPS truck and giving it to a driver, the drivers are awesome or go to bishops corner ups store, even with the drive you will save time, avoid this location - I warned you!
Great customer service...in and out
Dont go to this store. The cashier named Nick was rude and disrespectful when all we were doing was returning an Amazon package. He refused to help us and threw his badge so we couldnt get his name. He needs to learn some better customer service skills and learn that in this world being rude gets your no where.
Nick is amazing. A young man who honestly does everything he can to help.
Don’t come to this location. They are not very helpful. My mother who was trying to use the computer to print out some papers, they did not let her know that she had 10 minutes. No sign or nothing. They tried to charge her for time, but thankfully she left
I got changed $2 for 3inch tape. Very unprofessional staff
Wouldve given a 0-star review if that was an option. The other negative reviews left about this place are dead-on. The younger guy working there today was rude and unprofessional. I was returning an Amazon package and left one end of the box open in case the UPS store clerk needed to inspect the product before processing the return. Apparently that was a $2 mistake because the clerk rudely informed me that he would have to charge $2 just to tape the end of the box shut (and it seemed as if he got some sort of sick satisfaction in delivering the news). I declined, took my package back and left the store. Politeness and professionalism go a long way. If this person was one of my employees Id put him on an action plan or show him the exit. Also, charging $2 for a 3 sliver of packing tape is highway robbery. Never going back to this store. As others have said in their reviews, the UPS Store at Bishops Corner is vastly superior to this store.
Ive sent 2 boxes yesterday (one of them was closed already with sticker on it and the second was open with the printed label). 2 UPS employees were busy on registries. The third one (I suppose Clark) that was working with the packages behind the desk took my both packages and printed a receipt for both of them immediately. So I suppose that I spent at UPS store totally less than 2 minutes. Good job!
Horrible horrible store... the UPS store people, 2 gentlemen forget about the customer service and tries to extradite money from the customer. They scare you to such an extent that you pay them what they ask for packaging, taping and a printout...The prices are insane like 2.5$ for a printout, 2 $ for closing your small box with 4 small pieces of tape...Never go there either for Amazon return service or for sending any shipment...
Last time I went to their store, I had a prepaid label, which I had printed out and taped onto the side of my package. The girl that took the package from me, tore the label off of my package, then reprinted it herself and put it on the outside, and told me the next time I come in, just let them print out the label.Despite the fact that she was rude about it, I chalked it up to just her personality, and agreed to do that next time.Next time was today, so I brought my package in, and show them the label number for them to print it. They then tried to charge me $3 to print their own label. Not willing to argue with them, I just left. Ill drop it off at a Staples
Worst UPS store experience! I been working with the UPS store for six years as I have an online business that depends heavily on UPS. When I arrived at this location I was greeted in a manner of disguise. I was returning three items that my business needed sent out ASAP. I normally use the locations in Cromwell and Wethersfield that are nice and amazing to work with. I was told there was a $2 charge to tape a box up. $6 total or buy tape. They were rude and said that it’s my responsibility and that I should have known. It’s not about the charge, but the rude and ignorant demeanor giving towards me. I understand you have a lot of people that come in with auntie packages, but you shouldn’t take it out on me as if I’m coming in for the 30th time and should have known better.
I use this UPS store quite often because I do a lot of online shopping and it seems to be the preferred store for returns and/or exchanges. There are several workers who are friendly overall. But, there is one gentleman who seems to hate working there and makes me cringe going into the store. Curly black haired young man who is very cut and dry not personable. I brought in a return and wanted pricing to ship something to Florida but due to his manners I didnt bother. Customer service makes a difference in my opinion.
Dont ask for a piece of tape. It will cost you a a couple of bucks. Go to the Berlin one where they will pack it for you for free.
Will never use this store. Im so used to the store in bishops corner thats got such nice staff. No greetings, no thank yous, def no smiles...
I agree with the other review as the worst customer service ever. Was denied a free UPS shipping enveloped and charged 5 dollars for a manila envelope. A clear money grab. She argued with me the whole time I was in the store until the door closed on the way out. Mysteriously I was charged 17 dollars a week later for a pick up but I actually dropped it off. Called the store the young gentleman who works there woudnt give me any information on the managers name or any thing and basically told me he had customers and I could call back on Monday. Went to the West Hartford Police and filed a report and will press charges on her. That act was petty revenge and criminal.
Hartford, CT UPS locations do not care about the health and safety of their customers.
Very Cheap Store Manager. I have prepaid return Box to go to Las Vegas. But one Tape from the box came off at last minute. I asked store manager if he can Put piece of Tap to seal it. He said, I need to Pay 2 $ for a piece of tape 2hich is less than 2 ft length. And I can buy entire role for 2 $ in Walmart. At FEDEX and USPS, this is Free service. So cheap UPS. No wonder it has 2 stars here.
Honestly ... 2$ for a piece of tape? This location is a leach for money.
Always when my pak get deliver not in placebut others deliver option like usps the best.
The owner of the store told me he didnt have to take my prepaid ups parcel if it was over the listed weight on the label.I ship all over and visit countless UPS Stores to ship with prepaid labels. If the parcels weigh-in heavier than the weight stated on the labels, then the shippers account gets billed. Thats how it has always worked and still does.Of course he ended up taking the parcel because hes supposed to. But why give me a hassle and make false statements like, I dont have to take your parcel... As if you are doing me some big favor by taking my package. This store owner should take the time to actually learn the rules of the company he is representing (UPS). I shouldnt be treated like a second class citizen just because Im dropping off a prepaid parcel that he will only get a 50 cent credit for.
Pretty cool service from my point of view so Yay UPS, :)
Were going to charge me $2.66 to print a bw 1-page return label and another $2 for tape. just silly.
I went into the store to drop a pre-labled package and the associate KEVIN refused to provide me service. He stood at the end of the counter with his hands in the pocket and kept saying no to whatever I asked for his to do. I am a Pakistani brown girl so either he wasnt in a mood to work or was just racist against me. I am not sure but STAY AWAY IF POSSIBLE.
Very rude and mis behaving employees.
Worst UPS experience. Shouldve read the reviews. This place charges you 2 dollars to tape a package, which is absurd. Other UPS stores tape for you for free of charge. Never ever going here again.
Thumps UP Great Customer Service!
Im sitting here listening to my wife vent about how this UPS store gave her a confusing run around about her options for sending a time-sensitive item.
When trying to order a mailbox remotely, the staff never followed up and had me calling multiple times to complete my service. A lot of unnecessary work on my end for sub par service.
Horrible customer service, seems like you are in USPS. Won’t give you glue or tape.
They wont even give you two plastic ups shipping pouches!! They are free!! You can get them at the local drop off boxes!! Rude!!
Worst store experience
They dont deliver in time
Ghetto
His place is a rip off...
