I visited American Dojo for the free womens self defense class being offered to the community. I wasnt even a member there but felt so welcomed and got so much value out of my visit. The class was 3 hours long and felt like it flew by - so informational, professional, and hands-on. I walked away feeling way more confident as a woman walking around a big city. THANK YOU American Dojo staff for an awesome class!

I recently participated in a womens self defense class and it was very helpful. The instructor and every staff member was extremely knowledgeable and willing to take extra time with those who asked for it.

Such a great experience here! I participated in the womens self defense seminar and Dean made me feel like he genuienly cared about making sure I understood the techniques we were learning and never made me like I couldnt ask questions. I love the fact that his wife and him have turned this into a family practice and welcome anyone who walks through their doors. I cant wait to go back!

This was by far the most informative self-defense class Ive been to without being overwhelming or intimidating. A very friendly and welcoming environment. Ill be back for the kickboxing fitness class!

At our last parent teacher conference our sons teacher reported that he is among the most focused, determined and disciplined child in his class. While Id like to take full credit for this behavior I have to give more than a little credit to American Dojo Martial Arts. Their daily classes instill in the kids just what our sons teacher reported, disciplined, focus and determination. Children are rewarded for bring in good grades and are recognized for outstanding leadership behavior and attitude. And to top it off, our whole family is able to train and practice together. We cant say thank you enough to Master Konley and all the instructors at American Dojo!!

My son was getting old enough to start getting into more organized activities and martial arts was top of my list so he could learn a life skill as well. I was frustrated not really finding the right thing until I heard about American Dojo. Not only could he attend classes but I could as well in the same class! It has been one of the best decisions I have ever made!

My kids have both gone here, the instructors are great. The Excellent Kids program is wonderful for younger kids, my 3yo had improvements in her listening and behavior.

I love that American Dojo is a fun way to get in shape and learn self defense. The atmosphere is very family friendly. Its also a great opportunity for kids to boost confidence, improve focus, and learn self discipline.

Some good instructors but the main aim of class is to make money instead teaching. I would suggest look for class which is more learning focus so kids can really learn :)

Our son has been taking lessons at American Dojo for over a year, The instructors are very experienced and often work one on one as well as small groups to give lots of personal attention. The instructors are also as concerned about the students character as their technical ability. This program has helped our son with self esteem and encourages him to perform well in school and in the community. Master Dean Konley is leading an excellent program!!!

I have been going to this dojo for over 3 years now. I joined to get in shape and learn something in the process, as well as boost my confidence. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to have fun, get fit, boost confidence, and be involved in their community! Be all you can be!

The dojo is a great and safe place for everyone to learn the martial arts and have fun doing it. My niece has been a member since August and she is learning quickly and loves going.

Im super glad I started training back at the dojo. I trained with my family as a child and earned my black belt when I was 12. One of my best summers ever as a child was the year I joined the American Dojo during their camps. Now at 26, the dojo fit kickboxing class really got my cardio up to where I needed it to be to succeed in the military. I wasnt ever a runner, but I maxed out my PT score for the 2 mile and am on my way to do the same with the push ups too. Virginia and the other instructors do an amazing job with that class. And the environment is very inclusive and encouraging at whatever level of training we are at. One can always push themselves further from week to week and get a better workout. Thanks American Dojo for providing me and our community with that.

American Dojo has been a very rewarding experience for our oldest son he is working on earning his black belt in the next few months. It has been really rewarding watching him develop his martial arts skills and the many life lessons that Master Konley and his staff teach to all their students. Our youngest has just started in one of the newest programs and cant praise Mrs. Konley enough for bringing the excellent kids program to the dojo. I highly recommend anyone looking for a martial arts studio to try American Dojo out.

Great instructors, family environment, programs for all ages.

My wife and I signed our first son up for classes more than a year ago. My son was born with some special needs and no other martial arts academy would even consider signing him up. The last martial arts academy (will withhold name) we went to had an instructor say, He cant even talk...I cant help him. This was right in front of my SON! We took one more chance and visited American DoJo Martial Arts in Waukesha. Master Konley had no reservations accepting him as a student and my son has EXCELLED at confidence, friendships, discipline and martial arts. God really has directed us here and here is where we will stay. Master Konley and his staff are AWESOME. One year after signing up my oldest son, his younger brother with speech problems AND their Dad (me) are all enrolled. I couldnt disagree more with the negative comments posted previously about contracts. We signed a contract and havent had any problems whatsoever. This is a great place to learn, do something as a family and have a great time.

Great place to learn martial arts! Great organization. My family has had such a wonderful experience at American Dojo. Master Konley & the other black belts really know how to encourage & inspire us to be our best. My husband & I enjoy the hard workouts and the practical self defense skills, but the best part is seeing our shy daughter gaining so much confidence. Our son, who has ADHD, is making strides with his focus and self-discipline as well. Even his teacher at school has noticed the improvement! American Dojo is so much more than kicking & punching. I was at first hesitant to give it a try but now I am so glad we did! We even got our first 6 weeks of classes for free.

When I decided to train in the martial arts, I selected American Dojo over all the other available options in the area. Master Dean J. Konley is the owner, founder and Chief Master Instructor at American Dojo. Master Konley and his family are Christians in faith. He is a seventh dan black belt, having achieved that rank under Grandmaster In Sun Seo in Seoul, Korea in 2013. American Dojo provides a safe, positive, family-oriented environment to teach and train future black belts from the age of four on up into the sixties. I started training at age 61; although at the time I didnt know if I would be able to physically perform the required elements to advance from white belt to yellow belt. Thanks to Master Konley and his highly trained black belt instructors, I am presently a purple belt rank working towards blue belt. I would recommend American Dojo to anyone who has an interest in training! My goal is Black Belt!
