I rented from Long & Foster and have experience that indicates their business practices as a leasing agent are deceptive. They hold the tenant deposit for 45 days and charge the old tenant for any complaints of the new tenant. I will always hold this view of the company as an organizational practice because A. I had an inspection just before I moved out and they did not notify me of any issues with the property but then charged me for things like a broken dryer vent which was hidden in the bushes and I could not have possibly damaged; and B. I brought this to their attention in an email and gave them an opportunity to respond, which they did not. The only reason I did not file with BBB or an attorney is because I want nothing to do with this company or to invest any more time or energy in the matter and consider it worth the loss to never have to do business with them again.
