The pictures that show famous people from so many different eras got me thinking how that place was at some point. It must of been excited.I went through the lobby, its definitely old and stuff all over the place from chairs lamps and so on and it needs to be rebuild; I guess the entire lobby. the lobby door to the alley should be kept but with a new one, I love the speed and the round open bottom outside.. workers should be kept if it ever gets a remodel their wore all niceπ
Positive: staff was above average. the beautiful front desk representative, the amazing front of house staff who guided my parking and navigating experience with thoughtfulness and honesty. It was all wonderful. I wish I could have experienced the food. Negative: I arrived pretty late and didnt see any options for refreshments, like a 24 hour Cafe express area or anything that couldve supported access to snacks, beverages.
Remember to use Κα΄α΄α΄ΚΚα΄ΚΚΚ .α΄α΄α΄ when booking a place. This web site will compare thousands of booking websites and typically will have rates much cheaper compared to others! Youre welcome :)! This place is one of my favorites in the area. Ive been coming here for a long time. If you decide to stay here you definitely will love it Im sure!Perfect location and spectacular building. Rooms are spacious and very clean. Love the history of the building.
The Mayflower is an exquisitely beautiful hotel. It is immaculate and well updated. Our AC unit was broken when we checked inβthe staff quickly came and replaced it with a new unit. The front desk staff was very pleasant & accommodating. The bellman, Charleton was always friendly & helpful. We had a large family group in several rooms for a wedding. The staff was very considerate to all our needs. I would love to stay there again! I would recommend to friends & family too.
Positive: The cleanliness is the only impressive feature. Negative: I was upset that no valet nor self parking was on site. You are made to walk a good half block to the near East parking lot and you are charged $45 a night. You are also charged $15 a night for poor internet service. There is no food served after 2:00 pm
The classy and affordable hotel here in our area! Last Monday, I was feeling delighted when I stayed here for three days and two nights. I thanked your staves for accommodating my needs. I didnt regret my decision to have my relaxation at your hotel. Five stars for you, guys! Strongly recommended to everyone!
Great location to walk to many Washington DC museums, monuments and sites! Also, close by metro for transportation. Many restaurants with varying price ranges nearby and one at the hotel right off the lobby. Hotel parking was quite pricy, so we used a different parking garage just across the street.Spacious and clean rooms. Easy to control the air-conditioning. Room did have a mini fridge, though I didnt see that listed on the web site when I booked the room. Adequate outlets, including a strip on the night stand and a strip on the desk. No pool. Spectacular lobby!Would stay here again on a future trip!
Rooms were clean. Staff was attentive but definitely not knowledgeable in the area. Went to check out the hotel bar a little after 10pm and it was closed. Asked he concierge for a quiet place for drink and was directed to a club with 20 somethings playing loud music and smoking out of hookahs. In my younger day this may have been fun but it wasnt what I needed after a long day a travel to catch up with friends. No room service so delivery from door dash... just not living up to a 4 star.
Excellent location near Dupont Circle and super clean - a grand hotel.
What a grand lovely hotel! I chose because of its history and so glad we did. We booked a suite, which was absolutely wonderful and elegant. The staff at the front desk and bell station were wonderful. Our room was spacious, clean and great sleep quality! We could easily walk to most DC sites... which we did. There is no valet here. You are able to park your vehicle at front to unload for about 10-15 but then you self park around the corner. SUPER close and the staff there are very nice. If you pay them (parking peeps) directly it is $10 cheaper!
Great location, great room, great service. One block away from the light rail, so perfect way to come into the city from the airport. A short walk to the Pike Market. Only negative is that the windows are not insulating the city noise. Please invest in new windows when you can.
It used to be an amazing hotel with the best breakfast in town.As per their own admission they are cutting costs and perks now so I would highly recommend that you consider another establishment in town until The Mayflower can, hopefully, recover and get back to their former glory.Fingers crossed for the hotel and the team.
The suite was super small and the air conditioner sounded like amtrack train. The room was so tight we had to rearrange the furniture to walk. The initial room that was given was a double unit until the suite was ready. We were also told we couldnt have food in the suite where there was clearly a refrigerator in the room specifically for food.
Staying at your Hotel was very unforgettable! The food was very delicious and the place was also very cleaned and wide. I also admired the kindness of the staves and they were all very professional and friendly. I will surely be back in your hotel! I must strongly and highly recommend you to everyone!
I was invited in a wedding last Sunday they show up so much hospitality I trusted them. When they asked for my vehicle key without any doubt I give them all equipment like cameras lenses are everywhere inside my car so finally when they brought back my car they have stolen my expensive camera lens and a flashlight which I used for my camera. Shame on them huge hotel but do acting very cheap.
Dont waste your money. Event spaces and lobby are lovely. Rooms are small and bad. Beds and bedding are terrible. Towels old. ACheater unit as loud as a metro bus and leaks on the carpet. No amenities, not even a bottle of water. No room service. No bellhop or help with luggage. Desk personnel has no manners, and are unhelpful. No.parking. Valet overpriced. Madk mandate not enforced in small crowded spaces. Just dumb. Very disappointed for how much the stay cost. Stay elsewhere.
A Washington DC hotel landmark, this iconic hotel is minutes away from the white house and was home to many historical occasions. There is valet parking available at a price of $37.00 and also plenty of street parkingAs soon as you enter the hotel you are struck by grandness of the hallway which is adorned by grand chandeliers.I had attended a party at the grand ballroom which has 2 levels and is also very grand.
What a great historic hotel. Its so cool to stay in one of the old-style rooms that they just make anymore.
Great hotel, great room, wonderful bed, super warm and friendly staff. I always feel happy, comfortable, and well taken care of in this hotel. Only issue I had was that there was a giant wet spot on the carpet near my AC unit when I checked in. Not sure if it was leaky or if it had been washed and not allowed to dry properly. Not a big deal tho.
Gorgeous hotel. Only recommendation: take the pictures down in the gym. This hotel is supposed to be classy.
I was very much looking forward to staying here as Id heard this was a lovely hotel. Got off a long flight and no food or hotel restaurant is available (and its 8pm, not midnight!), had to go out searching for some dinner. Room is teeny tiny and looks onto a wall. Has a prison feel to it which is not what I was looking for my first post covid work trip. Thoroughly disappointed. Would not recommend.
Positive: An amazing historical place with great staff and service Negative: The restaurant is close on Saturday night.
Very historic. No food or drink Monday through Wednesday. π₯΄
Totally worth it - the central location, the service and rooms - The Mayflower is a great choice. This place IS history. There are plaques on the walls, read them. There is a second floor above the lobby, go there and learn about where you are standing. This is old school opulence in the best way.The rooms are very nice and the staff is first class.
Wonderful historical hotel where Presidents have slept. Conveniently located near Metro.
Positive: Great location Negative: When we arrived front desk personel werw not abre to find our reservation. We waited with two kids of 5 for a Long time and they were not very kind
They not clean the room and towels. I got very disappointed we got there 10pm tired expecting a cozy shower and bed instead... not recommended πthe next day we moved to a different hotel..
Nice suite and comfy bed. Best nights sleep of all places I stayed on my east coast driving adventure
Beautiful historic hotel. See if you can peak into the ballrooms while you are there.
Grand building. Nice location. Room well designed, nice quality, a little small though.
Positive: Historic significance. Negative: No water, coffee, or tea in the room was provided. Coffee was available in the lobby only in the morning.
Great place nice hotel. All I could wish is that they would have a pool
Didnt stay here, only visited friends. Friendly but pricy lounge. Large open areas.
Positive: Very clean and spacious rooms. Staff os very nice.
Iconic Washington hotel with grace and amenities. Well appointed rooms, large TV screens, well equipped fitness center, and notable Edgars restaurant. Often booked for high-end conferences in the middle of political DC.
Just experiencing the lobby was great for me. Artistic paraphernalia with Presidential representation...
Great customer service, excellent beds I slept so well
Electrical work commenced at 7A.M. directly across from my room. Requests to management to address this issue went unanswered. No lounge access available to elite members. Given the extensive construction at the property at the present time, I would not recommend staying.
Beautiful historic property in the heart of DC. Clean, excellent service, and reasonable rates for a four star property. Still emerging from COVID lockdown so it almost seems we have the hotel to ourselves! We definitely would stay at the mayflower again.
They are cutting corners big time. No glass in rooms, only plastic cups. Very thin towels. AC units are pretty noisy. Coffee bar was dirty shelves not dusted and very limited staff and services. But the concierge is great, believe her name is Azia.
Somethings in hotel room did not work but beautiful inside
My stay at the Mayflower Hotel was terrific! Very competent & efficient staff. Enjoyed both days..
Beautiful hotel close to restirants and clubs.
Beautiful hotel, however COVID-19 restrictions mean limited services, closed lounge ... great location in DC.
Its a nice hotel, with an old feel, but comfortable rooms. employees were really nice. also great location.
Absolutely beautiful Hotel such an amazing place to stay and right in the heart of D.C I loved it here. β₯οΈ
Negative: I didnt like the fact the the Hotel Shuttle only went to and from the Airport and doesnt drop you off at the Pentagon City Mall 1/2 mile away. I had to take a scooter.
This is not a good hotel for the price in dc. No microwave in room combined with no room service and limited restaurant hours forces guests to use delivery apps for basic needs. The concierge reccomends the use of doordash. Delivery is held at front desk to make it more inconvenient. Wifi is not free though limited service is available if sub to rewards program. The store in the lobby is a shelf with no cold drinks, or typical convience items. Usually, hotels that have such minimal available resources are much cheaper and not rated so highly.
The staff was very helpful and friendly. The only complaint I have is the rooms have a musty smell to them.
Positive: Free coffee, staff, location Negative: Expensive parking
Its a very fancy hotel and a pleasant experience.
Positive: Clean and beautiful facility Negative: Elevators were broken the 1st day but fixed the following days
Beautiful hotel, comfortable stay, and nice staff!
One of my favorite places to stay in D.C.
Positive: IΓΒ’Γ’β¬ÒβΒ’ve stayed at this hotel several times before, and have always loved the building, lobby, ambience, level of service, and location. However, the level of service on this visit ranks at a 1 or 0. Nobody at the hotel offered to do much of an Negative: No service WHATSOEVER. The staff may as well not have even been there. Nobody greets you at the door or offers any guidance as to parking or unloading luggage. The bellman pointed to a cart and told me to bring it back to him. No room service is available
Classic luxury. Staff couldnt have been more courteous.
Positive: Location, size of room.
Positive: Friendly staff and very clean facility Negative: None
Positive: Excellent updated historic hotel. Room was large and clean. Bed was super comfortable. A ton of tv channels offered on a huge flat screen tv. Bathroom was roomy with great water pressure. Negative: Nothing.
What a beautiful old hotel stays here for a couple of nights unfortunately during Covid most of the restaurants have been closed in the area.
Very pretty nice rooms
Nice hotel but lacked a business center and reasonable dining options.
Great hotel. Off-site parking. Dont forget to validate to get the 35 rate vs 45/ night. No valet but go to front for loading and unloading before heading off to parking. PMI is around the corner and it may take you a few tries to get there.
Nice bed and quiet room.
Small rooms. A/C didnt work. No coffee maker, no gift shop to buy drinks or snacks, or vending machines. Restaurant only open for breakfast and lunch.
Great place Great location. Great Value
Worst hotel I ever stayed in for the amount u pay. There were bugs in the first room. Just full of mosquitoes. The next room the damn cable didnβt work. Iβm currently waiting on my third room at this point I would never recommend staying here !
Positive: Best staff, room was exceptional clean
Positive: Quietness. Close proximity. Negative: Parking fee is ridiculously high.No coffee maker and microwave in the rooms
Great place, environment and food.
For a Valentines get away, this was a perfect suite for us. Each roomof the suite was spacious and comfortable. We were well rested and enjoyed ourselves a lot.Even though COVID practices were in place, we had a couple of bottles of wine, ordered from the limited menu from Edgars Bar & Kitchen, then watched a movie in one of the rooms in the suite.Within the 24 hours we were there, nothing else mattered and everything was taken care of. The rooms were COVID safe and prepped with alcohol wipes and hand sanitizers in every room of the suite, on every table, in each bathroom as well as hand sanitizers. All in all a great experience after being quarantined for a year.
Service terrible. No bell no valet.
Very nice & elegant hotel which one of DCs most popular landmarks.
Our first room was a disappointment. It was suppose to be a king size bed but it had a queen size mattress on it. We switched rooms to a double full size beds. The room was excellent and much larger. The staff was also excellent. Would recommend to others.
The hotel is beautiful and elegant. The halls and interior are beautiful and presidential and the rooms are comfy and cool. A timeless hotel with an amazing location next to the white house, this hotel is amazing for anyone. One thing I do not like is the restaurant attached to the hotel which when I was therer it took them 45minutes to serve overnight oats. This does not have anything to do with the hotel so I still highly recommend.
Beautiful historic hotel!
If anybody is looking for great deals for hotel rooms head to Κα΄α΄α΄ΚΚα΄ΚΚΚ.α΄α΄α΄ made a reservation for a resort on there and they had the best prices anywhere!Excellent service, gorgeous rooms, and the best place for a quiet, luxury stay in DC. We love it here!
I was very excited to stay here but the employees were extremely rude. Check out wasnt til 12pm. At 8:53am, there was a huge banging on our door which woke us up. It was the maid asking very rudely when we were leaving so she could come in and clean. We did not have a great experience with the restaurant server downstairs either. Stay somewhere else!
Positive: Staff was very helpful Negative: Food service inconsistant due to covid restrictions
Positive: The location was perfect!
Beautiful hotel right in the heart of DC convenient to multiple metro lines making getting around easy for those preferring not to use cars in the city. Edgar, the restaurant, was incredible. This is no ordinary hotel restaurant. I can see why many came off the street to dine or spend time at the bar. The food, beverages and service are spectacular. The staff were all so pleasant and helpful. I could sense they were proud to work at this Washington, DC centerpiece hotel and restaurant. This trip was at Christmas. DC does Christmas fantastically, and the Mayflower takes that up several notches.
My recent stay was for a conference at the location. Upon checking in, the front desk was able to accommodate my room change request which I thought was handled by the reservation line a few weeks before. The room was spacious, clean and inviting. The bathroom was gorgeous and was well stocked with items for the stay. The room was quite but could faintly hear the metro near by. Not a lot of traffic noise could be heard like other hotels in the area. The interior of the hotel was amazing and so clean. The staff assisting during the conference was friendly and attentive. The conference room was very beautiful and large enough to accommodate the large group. The food and beverages were excellent. No complaints about anything with this hotel other than the high price of valet. This location is a short walk to the National Mall, restaurants and other night life venues. You will most definitely enjoy your stay here!
Negative: Room way too small and the ac kept breaking.
I stayed in the hotel to celebrate my 35th birthday and really enjoyed my experience. The decor at this hotel is grand and beautiful and the service was amazing! I received a complimentary bottle of wine after informing the staff person that checked me in that I was celebrating my birthday. The hotel was also central. It was about a 5-10 min lyft ride to Park at 14th, Metro Center and Union Station. Overall, I highly recommend staying at the Mayflower Hotel! It will be a memorable experience and I guarantee you would want to go back!
Great location in downtown D.C. Easy walking distance to Dupont, Gtown, and metro access is very close. Stylish decor. Only complaint: the regular rooms are a little bit on the small side. Spring for a suite if you want to stretch out.
The service was poor and cleaning workers throughout my daughters retainers from bathroom, the claim department verify rude and donβt want to refund me the money for replacement! Unreal!!!
Excellent location, every staff member was exceptional. It is my best hotel in DC
Negative: I got bed bugs at this hotel and am miserable.
When we arrived we were informed by that there we no restaurants or roomservice available. No coffee in room. Nothing close to walk to and Uber eats restaurants were too far for delivery. The scan menu option had mostly closed restaurants and I tried over and over to navigate the website with no luck in an option to check out. Oh and we were also informed there was no maid service all weekend. What a dud.
Retro cool -
Great character and great staff asking with the amenities - even during the pandemic. On that note, felt very safe and clean the entire time.
We booked 4 nights through Expedia at this hotel. Its location is great and is walking distance to many places but it is an old building. However we didnβt find it to be a great hotel. First, we didnβt get what we booked and paid for. We paid more to have a king bed and when we got there, the girl at the front desk said your booking through the third party doesnβt guarantee anything. Very rude attitude! We end up with a queen size bed in a small room. Room #531. Since we have fully paid the 4 nights, we had no choice than staying in this hotel. Guess what! We will never come back to this hotel again!Second, rooms were small but the worse part was the antique air conditioning. It was horrible. It was so LOUD that it sounded like a propeller airplane is taking off. How could we sleep with such loud and horrible noise. The weather was very hot and we couldnβt keep the air condition off. So we had to bare it. NEVER WILL be Back again. Third, the towels were so worn out that they felt like a piece of old cloth. Charging so much and not providing a decent towels! Thatβs so cheap! Cutting corners!!The only positive parts were the location, cleanliness, and free cup of coffee in the mornings at the lobby.
Upon arrival, the receptionist assisted me in getting into a room as soon as possible (I had a really early flight) to put away my things, refresh, and prepare for my first meeting in the early afternoon. I loved the nostalgia of the hotel and was impressed with the pictures printed on the different key cards (mine had Marie Magdalene Marlene Dietrich). The meeting space was nice and the staff kept refreshments stocked. The staff was very accommodating and the rooms were very comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.
