Derrick is fantastic at what he does. With him, I’ve lost a significant amount of weight and body fat, feeling the best I’ve ever felt. His workouts are intense, offering a wide variety of exercises. He helped get my nutrition on track, something very maintainable without any crazy diets. But most importantly, he has given me confidence. I now feel comfortable going to the gym by myself to continue a healthy lifestyle. He is the best of the best.

I have been training with Derrick for 6 months, at first twice/week and now once. He combines excellent physical training with dietary advice, in my case to decrease body fat and lose weight. I am currently training with Derrick virtually, which works out fine.Derrick is at the very top of several trainers Ive had through the years. His style of circuit training makes it easier to accomplish difficult exercises. And his follow-up and advice on diet and developing my own exercise routines have been effective.I am on the way to achieving my longtime goals. Thanks Derrick!

Derrick is the real deal. He gives you a clear manageable plan of cardio, weights, and diet. You will get the results you want, if you trust the plan. Plus, working out with him is actually fun. Every session has new exercises and I highly recommend doing “partner” workouts. His goal is to get you “shredded” so that your are self sufficient in the future without him. He will hold you accountable, but won’t stress you out. Highly recommend.

I’ve been working with Derrick for the past six months and he is amazing! He’s the perfect combination of information and motivation, and got me consistently exercising for the first time in my life.We started with a thorough nutrition consultation, including a dynamic personalized calorie deficit target with macros, which we mapped against millimeters of body fat — and then tracked results week by week. We monitor everything via app and the measurability is incredibly motivating.The workouts themselves are great - always mixing in something new with building reps or weight on a core exercise. I’ve done partner workouts with my fiancé and he’s got a range that fits against target goals. He works in a private gym that’s never had more than 3 clients in at a time. He’s got great exercises for the gym, but also some that are portable and can be done at home or on the road. And he pushes you to target your weak spots vs the natural inclination to work out your strengths, which ultimately drives much better and more balanced results.Combining exercise, diet, and tracking - Derrick has been life changing. Derrick is a great trainer! If you want results, hes the trainer for you. He holds you accountable. I feel as though the workouts are tailored to my current fitness level. During the time I have spent with Derrick, I have reach my weight loss goals in rapid time in comparison to if I undertook this journey alone.

My wife and I did partner training with Derrick for 24 sessions over 4 months and the results were incredible. First of all, Derrick starts your program with a focus on nutrition and how to be in a caloric deficit while managing your macros to lose fat and gain muscle.He monitors your food consumption through an app and keeps you honest by doing weekly weight and body fat check-ins. There is no way to hide an extra donut or cupcake in your diet - hell know by the change in your weight and body composition - total accountability.Then he puts you through an amazing workout routine. Plyometrics, TRX, dumbbells, jump rope, machines - you name it. He keeps the workouts fun and engaging and you seldom repeat the same move.The best part was the last class - he took measurements, showed us how much progress we made, and created a short video that compared the change in our bodies during the program. We were shocked by the results - we lost 32 lbs combined and leaned out like crazy!The program changed our entire approach on how to be healthy, so the results are sustainable. My wife and I eat healthier and are more conscious of the calories in certain foods. Four months with Derrick changed our lifestyle, and we will never go back. I know it can sound scary, but dont be too concerned, we still eat most of the things we love, but we just manage our portions better and balance meals over the course of the week.Although Derrick is on the expensive side, you cant beat the results. I did a personal training package at my normal gym, and while the workouts were fun, the trainer was not as vested in my success. Derrick expects you to be fully committed during the program and has a common goal of getting you results you want. While Im sure he loves long-term clients that want consistent motivation, he was completely comfortable with us finishing the program and moving on, which is not what most personal trainers want.The gym is private and usually has less than 6 people at a time, so we felt pretty comfortable, even during the time of COVID.

Awesome! Researched trainers in the DC area for longer than I should have. After eight visits w/ Derrick - lost 17 lbs of fat; gained 6 lbs of muscle for a net weight loss of 11 lbs. Four months later, still improving. Bonus: My wife and I are both much more focused on our diets, but in ways that make it sustainable and not feeling like we are deprived. All Derrick. Cant wait for Round Two.

Without question one of the finest personal trainers in the Washington metropolitan area. Having routinely worked with trainers throughout the area over the past twenty years. Derricks acumen can be measured through my results, which have surpassed what has been achieved with any other trainer, even when I was younger than I am today.Through a combination of innovative exercises using body weight while maintaining an aerobic pace, Derrick has helped me onto a path which can be maintained for the rest of my life.In addition to the training, Derrick has been an invaluable resource with effective dietary recommendations. Ive been working out with Derrick for 8 months and have never been this fit. Ive used a personal trainer before and didnt have the same results. Ive never worked out like this before, each session is challenging and different. He mixes up each session to make sure that you are getting the most for your time and money.His program holds you accountable and its a combination of diet and exercise. Before you start he lays out your plan based on your weight and body fat and what you need to do inside and outside of seeing him to see results. His program is designed to get you disciplined on the track to be able to workout on your own and he highly encourages that. He tracks progress weekly and reviews your diet to ensure you are getting the most out of his program.If youre interested in a personal trainer and ensuring you see results, definitely give him a try.

Derrick is an amazing trainer! Each session is challenging in a new and different way, so the workouts are never boring. Most of the workouts rely upon your own body weight, not machines, so they are dynamic and high-energy. In addition to training sessions, he also works with you on crafting a diet plan and monitoring calories and nutrition. Making those lifestyle changes can be tough, so it helps a lot that Derrick has such an upbeat, encouraging personality and a great sense of humor. Hes great at motivating and gives helpful, realistic advice on how to stay on track.Most important, Derricks methods get results! After only a month, my weight and body fat have gone down, my clothes fit better, and I feel great. Derrick has also been really flexible about accommodating my crazy work hours, which I really appreciate in a trainer!

Derrick has been my personal trainer now for a little over two years. He is fantastic! When I first started training with Derrick, I literally had never worked out before. In the last two years, he has built my confidence in the gym and in myself and my own strength.What I like most about Derricks training is that we never do the same exercise twice. Hes always mixing it up! We also do so many varied exercises, so that we are working different muscle groups at the same time.If you are thinking about hiring a personal trainer, you will be incredibly happy with Derrick. In addition to the awesome results Ive achieved (overall weight loss, body fat down, adding lean muscle), Derrick is just fun to be around and he keeps you accountable. A++ :)

I cannot recommend Derrick highly enough. Over the past three years, Ive tried all sorts of diets and fitness programs to try to lose weight. I even signed up with another highly reputable trainer in DC. I trained with him for 6 months and got more fit, but my weight stayed the same. I started to think I was just going to have to live with the extra 15-20 pounds. As a last-ditch effort, I signed up with Derrick. In only 3 months, Ive lost more than 15 pounds and 7% body fat.Derricks program focuses both on nutrition and exercise. The first session, he gives you the minimum requirements to lose the weight and tone up, and then tells you what you can do for extra credit to make the process go faster. The weekly weigh-ins/body fat measurements keep you accountable, and he also checks up on your diet throughout the week with an app. I followed his program really carefully and am seriously amazed at how well it works and how sustainable it is. Im not spending hours and hours in the gym, and Im not giving up foods I love.Derrick is also just a super fun and entertaining person. I look forward to the training sessions and I always leave in a good mood. The new facilities where hes training are great and easily accessible. Honestly, I could go on and on. Signing up with Derrick was the best decision Ive ever made for my health. I only wish Id done it sooner.

I worked out with several trainers in the DC area before I started training with Derrick and he is far and away the best. From the very first session I knew it would be a different experience. He worked with me to help define my personal goals and then developed an individual plan that would ensure success. Derrick is a fantastic trainer, and I repeat - Fantastic! I have been with Derrick for almost a year or so, starting out with 2 sessions a week to 1 session a week. During this past year, I have gone down 2 pant sizes and lost over 20lbs! His workouts are tough, but varied and that keeps them engaging. I dont think we have done the same exact workout twice the whole time I am with him.But I think what really set Derrick apart and make him a great personal trainer for me is his genuine personality. I feel like trainers hired by the gym are very methodical (i.e. Do this, then this will happen), but Derrick is very personal. He keeps me entertained throughout the sessions with funny stories and his perspective on health and wellness. He will make you feel like you are his most important client despite the tons of clients he is seeing everyday.If you are looking for a trainer, you will not go wrong with Derrick. Give him a try, you will be happy you did!

He helped me get back into shape after I had my baby, he was able to put a specific plan together just for me based off of what I want to achieve and the pace I could move at! I cant say enough positive things about Derrick. People say all the time, you cant out train your diet, but it wasnt something that clicked for me until I started training with Derrick.The level of accountability he provided was the extra push I needed in order to reach my own goals. Hes invested and, more importantly, makes you get invested in yourself and your own progress.
