Horrible experience here. I purchased a teeth cleaning Groupon 4 months ago, and over the past few months they’ve rescheduled twice. Both times the day before, and claim to only have “availability” 4-5 weeks away. Today I show up for the third scheduled appointment time only to find the doors locked and lights off. No one is picking up the phone. Not sure if this is some sort of scam and they’re bailing? Or they just didn’t have the courtesy to phone and let me know they would need to reschedule a third time? Either way avoid at all costs. Plenty of other options.

I had been there many times for years, but I was supposed to go back two years ago. Last year in 2020 is the wrong time, and this year in 2021 the good time to go there. Im so happy that I need it for the dental exam, X-rays, and cleaning. The front desk is friendly, the restroom is cleaned, the waiting room is good, a dental assistant is supportive and helpful. A dental doctor is friendly and courageous to do right the best for teeth as well. I can see that most of them are new employees to me than before, hows interesting. Im very comfortable with them so far. I will be coming back there AGAIN. It was nice to be back.

The entire office was awesome! The hygienist Melody was kind and professional, as were the front staff. I had gone to another office a month before coming here, they recommended I do an expensive deep clean, however, Dr. Boateng here at United Dental Group was able to see the tartar on my X-rays and gum line measurements and determine that that wasn’t necessary. Everyone was helpful, friendly, and professional. Strongly recommend!

The practice is desperately working to improve its image, and it shows. While I have seen some upcharging in my few years as a client, I have always received high-quality professional service from very competent and knowledgeable staff. I recently had some deep cleaning that needed to be done, and thanks to Uniteds care and maintainance regime my gums and teeth have significantly improved.

The receptionist, dental assistant, and doctor were all super sweet! I usually get pretty nervous at the dentist, but Imani (the D.A.) was incredibly nice and made the process of getting x-rays as painless as possible. The visit overall was pretty quick and Im glad I chose this place. :)

Dr. Atam and Imani were extremely helpful, professional, and reassuring at making sure my filling appointment went smoothly. I had had a very bad experience with a filling previously, and they listened to my concerns from that appointment and took steps to make sure I was comfortable. It was all over in 30 minutes!

Front desk is very unresponsive and not professional. I had rescheduled an appointment, but they called me on the first appointment day saying I missed an appointment. They proceeded to call me 3 times all within one hour—right during the work day! I told them I had rescheduled the appointment, but they just gave a lot of attitude. I will also add you often don’t get someone to pick up the phone when you call.As far as the service itself, I would not recommend. Dentist leaves you every 5 minutes without telling you how long they’ll be gone. I got my teeth whitened here, and my lips are so burnt and in pain from them not properly protecting my gums/lips from the bleach. Also during the whitening, I was in pain and trying to flag someone down in the hallway, but no one came to me. This honestly felt like a horror show, where you’re calling out for help but no one responds. Another thing I don’t enjoy is that the dentist won’t talk to you about what they’re doing (for example, the didn’t tell me they were putting a numbing agent in my mouth until I asked.) You constantly have to ask questions about what they’re doing. It seems to me that they care very little about getting your informed consent.

To the whole staff, I want to say thank you to the treatment you provided for me. I couldnt be much happier of the teeth whitening procedure and result I received from here.

I used a Groupon that included the whiting; the front desk was honest before I bought the Groupon that there might not be time for the whiting and we could reschedule it. I appreciate the honesty. Everything was on time, the dentist was nice and skilled as everything went smoothly and painless.

This Was my first time getting my teeth cleaned in awhile the staff was very nice & informative & left me feeling refreshed!

I was thoroughly pleased with the level of customer service that was received from start to finish of my visit. The staff and hygienist abided by the Covid protocols and constantly inquired of my comfort and safety. One thing that I really appreciated is how they upheld the lost mantra of the “Customer is Always Right”. I made an error with the Groupon in which they empathized and still honored it. Ive been going to Uniteds dentist office off of K Street for a few years now. During my most recent visit my hygienist, Imani, answered all of my questions in detail about dental work.Her upbeat attitude made me feel better during and after my appointment. Just wanted to shout out Imani and encourage others to go to this office if theyre looking for a dentist!

Imani and the service at the United Dental Group was excellent. They were prepared and ready for me when I arrived. They also followed safety guidelines.

This dental group was great! Was called in fast and worked on immediately, got good care from assistants and dr!

I went in March 22 for a simple root canal procedure with Dr. Boateng in the DC office. I had unexplained pain during the second session, and the dentist just simply didn’t continue the procedure, and referred me to an endodontic because she “didn’t know what’s going on.” After I visited three endodontics in DC, I realized that the dentist Boateng left me with an iatrogenic perforation. She drilled in the wrong direction towards the crestal bone (could not upload the image here). Two endodontics suggested I have to extract the tooth due to the proximity and size of the perforation, and one endodontic suggested I try first treat it and save my natural tooth before I do extraction. This has caused me a great deal of anxiety, wasted my time and money.I contacted the United Dental Group to ask them to at least cover the expenses of the damages they caused (I have no health insurance). Back and forth for around two months that ended with them “refusing” to refund me and saying that dentist Boateng moved to another practice.I would never recommend this place to any person. The type of place you go to for a simple procedure and they leave you with a real problem with a “sorry for the inconvenience.”

Went here for the first time 2 weeks ago and everyone was great. The front desk staff, especially Jose and Zante, are great, answer all questions, keep you updated in the waiting room, and are wonderful about scheduling. I went in yesterday for some fillings but had a reallllly bad toothache caused by my wisdom teeth. The dentists response: would you rather me take out your wisdom teeth today? I thought that scheduling my wisdom teeth removal would be weeks of waiting, but they were able to coordinate between this office and their office in Tysons Corner to get them out same day. Im so glad I did, the removal was not nearly as big of a deal as I thought it would be, and my toothache is gone! Love the staff, highly recommend!

I would not recommend this dentist office to anyone (K Street location specifically, but probably the entire organization).1. Even though I had a credit with them from being charged for procedures that my insurance covered, they would forget this every time I checked out until I reminded them. The most recent time I asked for them to reimburse me after my insurance paid for the entire procedure. That was November, 2019. It took until October, 2020 to get my payment.2. Three times I showed up for appointments made with them and they had somehow lost my appointment.3. I wont speak to the quality of the dentists, other than the fact that they come and go frequently so you wont have a regular dentist.4. Currently, they are are having their employees post 5-star reviews.

I’ve been a patient for a of couple years now and service has been fairly OK. Six months ago I got a few procedures done and paid upfront for crowns. Since, I’ve made various follow-up calls and emails to schedule my crown fitting, but have not received a response yet. I understand COVID-19 slowed things down but it feels like this office have completely ghosted its patients.

I had a crown pop off on a Saturday afternoon and was in pretty bad pain. They managed to get me in within the hour and take care of me right away. My dentist was Esther and I cannot thank her enough for her expedient and gentle care! It’s such a relief to have such personal treatment even in a city as big as DC.

I had an almost 2 year-long experience with this practice, most of which was miserable. There were a couple of very considerate staffers but the practice, overall, was a mess. A former branch manager bent my ear about how bad the corporate management was in support and communication. Their management of their dental labs was horrific. Many re-dos of flippers and implant crowns. UNBELIEVABLE! I saw several other patients who were expressing their dissatisfaction and frustration - at the front desk, in front of those in the waiting room. DO NOT GO TO THIS PRACTICE OR ANY OF ITS AFFILIATES! YOU WILL REGRET IT! Dear United Dental person who responded to this review. This is the only way I can respond to you. DC K Street Branch is the location. I am happy to share specifics of my experiences with you and even delete this review if you are willing to discuss resolution. You can get my contact info from the K Street branch. United Dental Group in DC August 2020Dont go to DC Facility in August 2020 New Dentist is bad !!!The Receptionist was very friendly & helpful but I had a Very bad experiencing with the dentist/ Dr. She changed my appointment and I did not get the service cover for my insurance. I am patient for a few years that went on August 14 2020 for my first annual preventive services In-Network that Included: bite wing x-rays, full mouth x-rays, panoramic x-rays, cleanings, fluoride treatments, and sealants. The lovely lady in the reception asked me if I have something to add, then I mentioned that one tooth was bothering me sometimes with cool water But, But !!!the lazy dentist/Dr. decided not to do the preventive service but just checked that issue and told me: you have to get another appointment.I am following strict quarantine, due to a medical condition, and that unnecessary expose me to COVID 19.Im very disappointed with this professional service

I have been a patient for a few years now. Service has been ok. But then Covid hit. I had an appointment just before the craziness to get fitted for a night guard. I was told I would be called when the night guard came in. Over the past few weeks (June/July 2020), Ive been calling the office and no one ever answers. I know some businesses are still not open, but as far as I know, dentistry has been given the green light by DC gov. (My husbands dentist is open.) Does anyone know if they permanently closed? If so, how do we transfer our records? Kind of feels like this office has ghosted its customers. And they dont have a website, so...UPDATE: After months of calls, I finally got through about 2 weeks ago (early August 2020) and was told they would be opening up again soon and I could schedule an appointment. They were super nice when I went in, but boy I would have liked some notification that they had closed due to Covid and would reopen again at some point!

I am really surprised by the reviews for United. Ive been going there for 8 years and I love them. I know no one really likes the dentist, but I am very confused. I start going based on a colleagues recommendation, and theyve been great right from the start. Great front desk staff - always accommodating for scheduling. I didnt even have dental insurance when I first had to go there for a problem, and they were really nice about working with me. Ive had several dentists there and all have been efficient and effective. I had one dental hygienist that wasnt very careful and kept jabbing my cheek with that sharp straw thing, but I only had her twice and Ive never seen her again. Everyone else has been great.

Never a concern with treatment. Professional, Efficient, Friendly. My overall dental health has improved in the 4+ years with United Dental. Some minor early issues with billing/insurance/payment but no recurrence.

Terrible experience. I went for three cavities. Every tooth became infected, due to what other dentists said as possible poor sterilization of tools. I ended up with 2 root canals and am still on antibiotics for infections. I am out over $5K b/c of poor work done by United Dental Group. I would not recommend this place to anyone.update: it has been over a year and I am still having major issues due to the work from this office. I have had a few other dentists look at what was done and they would not have recommended the work they did. It seems that all they wanted was to create problems to get more money. Stay away if you care about your teeth.

I cant believe some of reviews and I have been going to them for about two years now. I must say that they have taken care of all my needs, my bills have been straight; because they give you a treatment plan prior to billing and I have been treated with nothing but patience and kindness. I was just there the other day and I was in and out with my cleaning and treatment and did not wait long at all. I believe all the bad has been weened out and we can not be responsible for everyone or their actions. We learn how not to be and do is the best we can.

I went for my cleaning,saw Dr. Alukha,she was awesome. I had a cavity and she took care of it right there. She took her time to explain everything and showed me what needed to be done,even gave me her headphones so I could be relaxed. Best part was I didnt feel anything when she gave me a shot. Best experience ever.

I have always had a good experience here. Had 4 wisdom teeth removed and a number of cleanings. It is very fast paced, but I feel like the staff and doctors do try and provide a bit of personal touch. I would recommend.

Ive loved every experience Ive had at United! The staff is attentive, efficient, and knowledgeable and Dr. Hanh Costanzo is awesome. Im surprised there are bad ratings here because Ive always been so so happy with the care they have given me! I have never see such unprofessional and disorganized dental clinics in my life. My X-ray has to be done five times, there were a confusion among staffs about the schedule and above all I have to stop my treatment in the middle of the procedure. I absolutely DO NOT recommend anyone to go through what I have faced though with one of the best insurance! I have asked all my dental record and will look for some professional dentist! I wish there was a rating below 1. They rating should be Zero!

United Dental Group dentists (subcontractors) and staff change like the phases of the moon. I have been a UDG patient since May 2015 and in that time three of the dentists treating me have mysteriously disappeared. Drs. Frazier, Cho and Catanzano (the best) all suddenly left UDG without notice or explanation and in the middle of my dental treatment. The attrition rate of the dental staff suggests extremely low morale and/or harsh working conditions. The most recent resignation(?) of my treating dentist, Dr. Catazano has made me a former UDG patient. United Dental Group can best be described as a corporate cash machine and not a dental practice. Avoid this practice like tooth decay.

At first I was so nervous.... All I thought of was they are going to hurt me. Desiree was gracious and patient with me while cleaning my teeth.. I love her and her personality. The staff is awesome also!

I had a terrible experience getting a dental implant done at United Dental and would highly recommend finding another dentist to do a procedure like that.First off, the office is incredibly disorganized which caused undue stress on an already stressful operation. Because the process of getting a dental implant can take anywhere from 6 months to a year (there are multiple stages), they take a mold of your tooth so that when they extract it, you can have a temporary fake tooth retainer rather than be toothless. The day that I went into have my front tooth removed—I was sitting in the chair ready for the procedure—they suddenly realized that they didn’t have the fake tooth retainer that had been made weeks prior. Thank goodness they hadn’t pulled the tooth out already because that would have been a real mess! However, the periodontist working there at the time only worked once every two weeks which made scheduling a challenge throughout the whole process. This meant that my appointment was postponed by an entire month. Previously, I had been told that my tooth had low grade chronic inflammation / infection, so it would be best to do it as soon as possible.The removal of the tooth and subsequent implantation of the titanium post seemed to go ok at the time. However, the fake tooth retainer didn’t actually fit properly so they added additional material to the fake tooth to try to make it work. I was given special mouth wash to prevent infection. They didn’t tell me when they gave me the mouth wash, but it turns out this mouth wash stains your teeth really badly (which would have been useful because I could have thought more about the best way to use it) and also stained the fake tooth retainer. There was an incredibly dark line from the mouthwash where they had added new material on the fake tooth because the two materials related to the mouthwash differently. This was really frustrating because I was already self conscious about the fact that I was missing my front tooth, but when I went in they said they couldn’t do anything because it might break the retainer and then I would be completely stuck.The blessing of this whole operation was that I moved. Luckily I found an incredible dentist who was able to do an amazing job of the botched job that United Dental did. 1. She was able to clean the fake tooth retainer (without breaking it) so that it didn’t have such a noticeable black line on it, making me feel much more confident again. 2. I learned from her that the titanium post was put in crookedly, meaning that all the parts for my implant had to be customized perfectly to me because anything standard wouldn’t fit properly. She did an amazing job with everything and walked me through the rest of the operation in a much better way.At the time that I was getting an implant, I didn’t know a lot about the procedure and how it worked. There were also not a lot of reviews on people having had dental implants. Having experienced the disaster that was United Dental and the incredible care from my new dentist, I think I have seen both the low and the high. I would recommend doing significant research and finding a dentist who is experienced and has good reviews. A dental implant is a long, expensive, and sometimes stressful procedure, so you want to work with the best prosthodontist.
