Was in DC on business and needed a last minute cut. Found this unassuming, side street barber. Called ahead, he unlocked and let me, and didnt say much. The shop has an old school vibe, but not nice by any means - ceiling tiles worn, floors in need of a good clean, old worn seats; from the looks of it I was honestly a bit concerned...This changed once I was in the chair. Old school, no-nonsense barber, talks or doesnt (not really an issue if you know how old school barbers roll), very very very good haircut with little to go on. Will most certainly return on my next DC visit!

I must have researched 7 barbershops in the area. Based on a combination of price, availability (walk ins accepted), and accessibility (close to the metro or walking distance to where I was coming from), I went with these guys. I struck gold.Trying a new barbershop, and specifically a new barber, can be risky. They represented their brand well. Oh and I almost forgot, when I walked in, there was diversity of clients being served. So what Im saying is, they will hook you up no matter what texture of hair you may have.

If you want a disinterested barber to give you a bad haircut (uneven, missing cutting here and here) go here. He will be on his phone chatting with his friend throughout the session. Not sure how much attention span left for your hair cut. 30$ is a bit for that. Gotta go to another place to get this bad hair fixed.

After getting tired of the ridiculous prices at my previous barber, I decided to try out a different barber shop. The price ended up being the same, but was more logical. I thought the haircut was pretty good too.

They tried to charge me $32 for a designer haircut (designer haircuts are $30), when I came in for a simple crew cut, which is $26. They tried to scam me. Won’t ever go back to this place.

First of all, Barrie is a super nice guy. I came by 11am and out the door in about 30 min. There were 2 out 3 seats available, so I was able to get a cut without a reservation.Second, Barrie is super cool and professional. Once I was lock and loaded for my cut, he was relax and listened to what I wanted as a haircut. He asked my a question and before you know it, it was way better than what I had asked for. This aspect, Alone, should sell his service to anyone. Anyone who knows about how, at times, it can be difficult explaining your haircut to someone new and not knowing if they (barber or hair stylists) will be able to be on cue, more or less, of what you had asked for. Im super pleased with my haircut. I highly recommend him and his staff to anyone. Ill definitely will be coming back to him, when Im in the DC area.Third, his haircut cost $24 without tip. BTW, You can pay with a credit card and leave him a tip too. This was one of the main reasons I came to this Barber Shop. And he has a restroom for customers and staff only.Conclusion: Just know, you get what you pay for and with Barrie, your gonna get 1st class service, a person whom listens, takes their time cutting your hair, Can ask you for your opinion, leave you feeling good with your new hair cut. You can pay with credit card and leave tip too. He has a restroom for customers and staff only. If you walk, His shop is close to 2 metro stations and small restaurants in the area, Look him up.
