Decent shop. They were accommodating our last minute back to school hair cut. I specifically asked if they cut all textures of hair and they did a great job! They noticed there were mostly kids so they put on the Lion King. I was taking my friends son. I think she would go back.

I just came home from serving 15 years and it was the best. Joseph was the best. He hooked me all the way up. Impeccable Service! Excellent quality! I will recommend Edges to anybody. I will definitely be back.

I’ve been living in DC for 12 years now and Edges Barber Shop on U St NW is the worse I have been to. The staff is very unprofessional, they keep you waiting while they play video games, leaving the shop while you’re waiting on them and don’t let you know that they are returning or not. I visited the shop back in 2011 and the service was the same then. I decided to give them a second try today and sadly the staff is still the same with new barbers. I would not recommend them to anyone even if they don’t have an option, I would tell anyone it’s better to do without a haircut than going to Edges Barber shop on U St NW.

I beg you not to use these barbershop. I went to get my brother a haircut. The owner said I needed to pay before the cut. I said okay, what if the barber doesnt do a good job. He said I could leave and go somewhere else, I explained to him that is not how you speak to a customer. He said he didnt need me nor my brother and we can leave. He said hes been there for more than 10years and he will be there with or without our business. He was just as hell. No little customer service. I gladly left. Go somewhere else if u can folks . This man is what gives Black Owned Businesses a bad name.Your responses to our feedback shows just how unprofessional you are sir. Such a nasty attitude. Do not call me no house n*igga.

Always a great experience.... I stopped by Edges today and had ANOTHER amazing experience. I went in to get my beard edged up and I swear I left another person. My beard is groomed and fresh. Thank you Edges Barbershop for yet another outstanding visit... you guy are the best.

Visiting DC with my wife for our anniversary. Needed a shape up rap quick, Edges did the job well. Typical hood barbershop: good convo, relaxing atmosphere with a woke group inside. Id come here regularly if I lived here!

I moved to DC a year ago and went to multiple barbers. By far this is my favorite. People are very friendly and I got the best hair cut ever there. I would highly recommend this place.

First time going there today and all I can say is I found my new barber! Got a great cut and they even brought someone over to do my cornrows. I couldn’t be happier. Great establishment.

Very friendly and skilled barbers. I didnt wait at all, I walked right on in and A barber was free and welcomed me a seat to get my haircut right away with no appointment; only a walk-in. Very fast and really skilled barbers. Although, the environment isnt 100% legit and too much profanity and easily distracted barbers, but still one hella good service.

Love this place. Its conveniently close to my home and I usually dont have to wait long for my cut. As a previous reviewer said, its not the fanciest spot but it doesnt have to be. Im not there for the decor or eye candy. Ill get my haircut in a junkyard for the promise of a fresh shapeup. Ill dock this place one star because they got rid of the playstation and I liked playing Madden while waiting my turn.

I was just on my way home from work when I saw this barber shop and thought maybe I could use a haircut. I checked them out and I am happy I did. I had one of the most satisfactory haircut services in a long time.

I use to go to this barber shop loved it a lot the people were nice An I never waited long to get my haircut. I moved a little far from this barbershop But I will be back soon it was one barber I can’t think of his name but he was in the video cutting someone’s hair he’s was the only guy I came to get my haircut because he always took care of me. Overall I look forward to my return.

The owner was very rude close the door in my face I made a appointment ahead of time just wanted to ask could I come earlier if he had no one in his seat and he close the door in my face so save your money go else where they ain’t it.

I use to go to Edges all the time when I first moved to the DMV. My barber was Joe. He was the best but then he became the owner and things went downhill. I went to Edges a little over a week ago and AB cut me. I had 4 inches of hair on the top of my head. I was rocking a twist with the sponge and wanted to keep the style but it had grown to the point where it was hard to get the look I wanted. So I asked AB to take a little bit off. How in the hell did I leave with 1/2 inch of hair on top of my head? I mean damn do I really have to say cut off a quarter of a inch or half of an inch to be safe? Especially when I said I want to still be able to twist it. He knows he messed up too and had the nerve to still want full price. Also my temp fade was uneven. While I havent always gotten the worst cuts since Joe left with the exception of two cuts, its gone to hell there. Stay away!!!! Its not the edges of old. I got pictures to prove it. One from a couple days before the cut, and the one I sent to my woman the day of the cut to show why I was pissed. .

The guys at Edges treated me right and had me looking good for my friends wedding the next weekend.

I went to Edges Barber Shop on Friday, June 8th, 2012, and received the WORST haircut in my life. I will never go back and will steer others away from this establishment. The barber who cut my hair is named Royce -- at the time his barbers chair was in the back right corner. He was extremely rude, offensive in speech, completely messed up my hair in every way imaginable, and sadly, didnt try to make amends for doing a beyond poor job. He even charged me full price after I explained to him repeatedly that I was dissatisfied. Also, while this barber was edging me up, he punctured my scalp in MULTIPLE places. I strongly believe that he should have his licensed revoked immediately.I understand that Royce may not be representative of the other barbers and hair stylists working at Edges, but my experience with him has skewed my opinion of this barber shop forever. For your satisfaction and safety, do not waste your time and money at Edges. Simply visit another barber shop in the area.0 stars

Dont see Eric if you go there! He ruined my hair. While describing the style they I wanted, he cut me off, saying, I know exactly what you want. I do those cuts all the time. Even as he cut my hair i told him that he was cutting off too much. He argued with me saying, I know what Im doing. In the end, he even had the gall to blame me for not being clear enough in describing what I wanted.

Every time I go here I go to the man name AB. He looks kook out for me all the time. When he not ther I go to the other man jamarNever been disappointed. I recommend them two

I called ahead. Man told me last customer can walk in by 9:30p. I arrive at 9:10p and they are closed.

I was not satisfied with my haircut at Edges barbershop. Its not worth it for the price as well.

Don’t have an appointment app when you don’t accept the appointment till 5 min before a clients appointment, then tell them they have to wait when they called you on the phone and you said you’d fit them in.

I should’ve known better than to stay in the chair when my barber didn’t bother to pick out my more than six inches of hair before starting my fade. The end product was sloppy and his clippers bit my neck. I gave two stars because they fit me in as a walk-in.Update: Thank you for responding. Respectfully, I don’t want my money back, but that was not how things happened. My barber and I said not a single word to each other during the cut, and my finished product was nothing near what I suggested before he started cutting.For context, below are the reference photos I showed.
