In all of my years joining wellness and athletic clubs I have never enjoyed myself more or improved my mind, body and general health as I have in the past few years at What is Movement. Jamie Enrique is not only an incredible coach, but a mentor, a student of physiology and an amazing trainer. Im currently 72 years old and each time I arrive at the gym Im welcomed by all regardless of my age and conditioning. The atmosphere is genuine and warm but business like as we all strive to improve every aspect of our fitness program. I would encourage the reader to have a meaningful conversation with Jamie if youre interested in making a new journey and become a new you in the coming year!Grant Brandon

What is Movement is an amazing place to train! Jaime Enriquez is a very positive and knowledgeable trainer who strives to make EVERY person feel welcome and capable. His understanding of anatomy and how the body functions is incredible and he can pinpoint exercises to help each person based on their unique strengths and areas of need. The classes are group exercise classes, but it feels like personal training! As someone in the fitness industry myself (yoga teacher), and as a person who has tried other cross-training options, this is BY FAR, the best place I have trained at. In the three months that I have been working out here, I have seen great results. Give this place a try; your first class is FREE. You will not be disappointed!!

Jamie and his coaching enabled me to rediscover the athlete I thought was gone after being injured. His style of training restored my confidence in what my body was capable of achieving. Jamie leads by example. The safe, welcoming community that flourishes at What is Movement is due in no small part to the tone he and his clientele set.

If your an elite athlete...you will like this gym....but if your a guy like me...who needs to move correctly in order to physically function properly in life...then “What is Movemt” is a life saver. Some of the folks here were doing some amazing things with the kettle bells....me? It took me several weeks just to learn the basics of the “Turkish Get Up”...and how was Jamie and my class mates during that process? Patient, understanding, supportive and fun to be around. Ask anyone here....it’s not just a gym....it’s an important part of their life!

Ive always been active and have held a gym membership for many years, working out 5-7 days per week. Now at 73 years old and having been with Jamie for several years, 5 days per week, I realize how his coaching has brought about a positive transformation in me in terms of strength, flexibility, stamina, posture and over-all well being!Jamie is dedicated and knowledgeable, explaining every aspect of every movement or activity, driving it home and making it meaningful. I am fortunate to have found such an amazing and supportive coach.

Old School meets New School! Jamies training had me lifting more than when I was a kid! You will not only learn the proper forms and techniques from Jamie, but you will undoubtedly have fun while youre doing it. The atmosphere at the gym is very welcoming and you wont get bored with the same old workouts. Youll be pushed here, but thats the point. Also, as Jamie is a Veteran, hes always looking for more Vets to come workout and socialize with the small group thats there now. Do yourself a favor and stop by for a free intro class....youll be glad you did!

I have been working out for all of my adult life and have had very mixed results. I did more damage to my body by not lifting weights the correct way. Jaime takes the time to show the safest way to lift heavy weights and showed me how to use the largest muscles in my body to do it. Not only have I gotten stronger overall, I have not once hurt my back doing it! I was never able to do squats or dead lifts before. Jamie is a great instructor and dedicated to making sure that your goals will be reached. I was able to stretch and move so much better than I ever have after only 2 sessions!

Whether you want one on one training or want to take a group fitness class, this is the place to go. Jamies passion and dedication to his profession and his clients is apparent when you come here. Between cardio, kettle bells, VIPr, weight lifting and other exercises, there is something for everyone.I’ve been Jamie’s client since day one. My strength and mobility have improved tremendously over the past 5+ years and continues to improve every day. Jamie has not only taught me the correct form when performing an exercise, but also the reason behind it and how to listen to my body in case adjustments are needed. With Jamie’s guidance and instruction, I now apply those same principles in every day activities. It’s second nature now.If you want to challenge yourself and become more aware of the synergy between various exercises and your body (while getting fit in the process) visit What is Movement and see Jamie. You won’t be disappointed.

I am 70 years old and have been an athlete my whole life. In my youth, I played baseball and football. After college, I was a recreational runner and played in several adult softball leagues. I have been lifting weights since I was 14. Most of my workouts were trial and error and obtained by reading magazines and sharing ideas with friends since there were no gyms in the area at that time. I taught high school for 34 years and coached two varsity sports for over 20 years. I also worked construction part time in summers for over 40 years. I totally retired in 2010.I have belonged to different gyms since that time and up to 3 months ago, when I first met Jamie Enriquez, my workouts had gone stale. It was a chore to go to the gym 3 days a week and the only results I received was pulled muscles and depression over not seeing any type of results. Since I met Jamie and joined Precision Nutrition, I have renewed energy, lost 16 pounds, eliminated 95% of the pain in my back and knees, eliminated my heartburn, and I enjoy working out 5 or 6 days a week. Most of all, I am learning it doesnt make any difference how much weight you lift to get a good workout as it does practicing the proper technique.I feel extremely lucky to have met Jamie. As I stated earlier, I was a teacher and coach so I recognize the qualities it takes to be a good teacher and coach. Jamie far exceeds those qualities. He is a dedicated professional that truly enjoys sharing his knowledge. He not only shows the exercises but he explains in great detail how and why the exercise is done. He is patient and extremely knowledgable about all aspects of movement and nutrition. If an exercise causes undue pain or stress, he immediately has a solution or a different exercise that works the same area.

What is Movement isn’t just a gym it is a school. In every class or one on one session you’re not just working out your learning the SKILL of strength and how to train your body to function at a higher level than you thought possible. You will gain a deeper understanding in the fundamentals of movement, stability, mobility, strength and power and how to adapt your body to perform better in each of these categories. You will learn the skill of training in multiple modalities including but not limited to body weight, kettlebell, barbell, ViPR and TRX. What are complex moves and skill sets in other gyms are the basics here. After just a few months training here you will have a new perspective on working out. During my time in the military I went to many gyms both at home and abroad and saw the difference in the people who mindlessly work out and those who are training and perfecting the skill of strength.Above all you will learn skills that go beyond the gym. Strength is as fundamental as learning to read and write. Whether you’re an athlete, first responder, soldier gearing up for a combat deployment, or just someone helping your buddy move a couch you need to be StrongFirst. It doesn’t matter where you are in your fitness journey, I’ve seen every different type of person from the true beginner to the pro at this gym. This is also not your “elites only” club either everything is taught in a relaxed, comfortable, friendly, motivating and highly professional setting.Strength and weakness are not inherent abilities or faults, they are choices. Choose to be strong today and check these guys out you won’t be disappointed.

I started at What Is Movement almost 4 years ago and knew nothing about kettlebells, barbells or the Vipr. I was a yoyo dieter for most of my life and lost and gained 20 pounds more times then Id like to admit. That all changed when I found What Is Movement and met Jamie Enriquez! He introduced me to the benefits of strength training and with his guidance and support and being consistent with training I have maintained my weight for the first time and Ive never felt better! Recently, he started offering a nutrition program to help us dial in on the nutrition, along with the physical fitness. The program is Precision Nutrition and it is different from anything Ive ever done in the past. By combining the nutrition and strength training, Ive seen results with more weight loss, strength improvements, more energy and better sleep. Change and results are possible for anyone with a knowledgeable coach like Jamie and the supportive atmosphere from the other members of this gym. Jamie will provide you with the information and encouragement needed to succeed! Stop by and talk to Jamie, it will change your life!

I have been training with Jamie at Whatismovement for about 10 months now. My interest in learning to use Kettlebells was primarily the reason I contacted Jamie. Fast forward to today and I can tell you that not only did I learn how to safely and effectively use kettlebells, I also learned how to perform many other movements using Barbells, VIPRs, and my Bodyweight. I can now go into any weight room and I feel 100% confident that I know what i’m doing and how to train. The real reason To train at Whatismovement though, is the community Jamie has helped to create here with its members. Everyday we all show up to class to not only socialize and workout but to motivate each other to be the best versions of ourselves. Here at Whatismovement you will get stronger for sure, but you will also notice that when you finish class you will leave feeling motivated, less stressed out, and just generally in a good mood that will help set the tone for you to tackle whatever the day brings your way.
