I was literally looking for someone to fix a few things on my car for weeks when finally I found life long auto,, every other place said oh maybe I’ll get to it today or tomorrow but NOT life long auto they got what I needed done in one day and set up another time to have other things I wanted done just a few days later.. they were honest amd didn’t try add on more stuff that wasn’t even needed like a lot of mechanics do.. these guys were great and I would recommend them to anyone

I spoke to Mike about some noises I heard after switching gears with my manual car. We went for a drive and it turned out that my timing for switching gears was off. Brought my car in from a dealership before I purchased it to have a Used Car Inspection done to ensure the car was worthy of purchase. The full service (test drive, engine bay inspection, tire check, etc.) took under an hour, with accept up all feed back.Because of the kind and friendly folks here, I was able to sign on my car! There’s guys are very transparent in their inspection and I highly highly HIGHLY recommended for service, these guys are the real deal!!!

Every time Ive been to Long Life Ive received prompt and informative phone calls from them explaining their work, their recommendations, and detailed pricing. Theyll even go so far as to explain the function of a part and the reason it needs replacing or service. At every turn, Ive been made to feel confident that Im not only getting the service I need but also that Im not paying for unnecessary parts and labor.When I first moved to the area a year ago I needed a 75K mile service and was dreading having to find somewhere to take my car. The 5-star rating on Google Maps which I took with a grain of salt intrigued me but a friends recommendation finally got me there. Now I get it. Each one of those stars is well earned.On more than one occasion Ive taken vehicles to Long Life and been told that repairs I thought I needed (sometimes on the advice of other repair shops or even AAA) were not necessary. Ive easily saved a few hundred dollars in the last year thanks to them. Theyve even told me that consumable parts Ive come in expecting to replace arent yet in need of replacing. In a sense, theyre leaving money on the table by doing the right thing but when the time to do that work does come Ill be returning and I recommend them to all of my friends who live in the area.

My car died on a Friday afternoon just before we were scheduled to go on a weekend trip. Mike got my car back up and running (and even noticed and replaced a couple of burnt out tail lights that probably would have resulted in a ticket) and we were able to have a worry-free car trip. Mike and his team are wonderful, they have served 4 different automobiles of mine and always advise me on whats best in regards to repairs. Rarely do I write reviews but I was so blown away by the service at Long Life Auto that I had to. First and foremost -- the loaner cars. They will actually allow you to rent a car for $10 dollars (you read that right -- TEN) a day while they work on your car. Living in Waltham is not commuter-friendly in terms of public transit and Mass car rental prices are ridiculously high. So, this is amazingly helpful. Second, everyone I met, particularly Sabrina and Andy at the front desk, are incredibly warm, friendly, and knowledgeable. They will explain the problem with your car in a clear, concise way that even auto-illiterate people like myself can understand. Lastly, prices are very fair. I needed my purge valve replaced and the average price for that repair is anywhere between $120-$167 dollars, according to Google. They charged me $127.Hopefully I wont have to come get my car repaired again for a long long time, but if I do, Ill be perfectly comfortable with my car in their hands.

They even stayed late on Christmas eve, so they could fix my car in time for me to road trip to see my family.They were detailed in their diagnosis, having found a few more issues, diligent in their timing and communicated every step of the way. This is the best mechanic I have ever been to hands down. They always have reasonable prices and call to check in with me before they do any work on the car. They have always been honest with me and dont add on things that dont need to be done. For example, I once mentioned I thought I might need new brakes and Mike recommended I wait another few months as he thought I wasnt quite due. If you live near Waltham, this is definitely the place to go.

Stopped by for a check engine, emissions code 456 came up for possible leak. Code was reset and gas cap tightened. Super simple no charge. In and out in less than 5 minutes.Try doing that at a dealership. Youd be lucky if you had to wait a few hours to get it looked at.

Brought in my Mini Cooper at the end of the day and they happily took it in, was fixed the next day! Couldnt be happier with the quality of service and great people working there, highly recommend!

Mikes estimate was $230.00, I was little skeptical in the beginning but he not only fixed the problem but charge me only $130.00. He was honest, Said part was cheaper than he expected to be.That was pleasant surprise and experience from Auto body shop.

If you need a mechanic you can trust youve just stumbled into gold. Mike is a Godsend. Competency and honest are two very extremely difficult traits to find anymore in car repair and Long Life Auto delivers both. We have an older Dodge Caravan that we love and need it desperately since cant afford another vehicle if we needed one. Mike is excellent,I went to Mike because my 2007 Mazda 3 was rattling when I used my breaks.Turned out I had to get my rear breaks replaced and my shock absorbers changed. He called me as soon as he found the problem told me the price and also offered a discount if I got it changed on the same day.His prices were really nominal and he has done an excellent job with the car.

It is always a great experience when I need work done. They are very accommodating and keep you informed along the way.

1st experience review: will update as experience changes.First and foremost: these guys are some of the nicest ppl Ive met in this industry and the rating mostly is a factor of that.Technically? Im a little disappointed given the reviews. I brought in a car to have the tailpipe resoldered. Was told i needed a new muffler and y pipe. No problem. Actually had those items under warranty so i had the manufacturer mail me the items and went back to the shop.They call me to tell me the y pipe had been installed but they ordered the wrong muffler and it would be in tomorrow (remember i supplied the muffler). Once we straightened that out. They said it would be perhaps over 200 bucks to get everything welded (they outsource the exhaust work).... On top of their $170 to install the y pipe (essentially cutting 4 bolts and reinstalling). After it seemed one hand didnt know what the other was doing.. Plus the pricing seemed off. I told them to not install the muffler, paid the $170, picked it up (LOUD) and took it to an exhaust shop to be fixed for $60.I dont doubt they are good people and good mechanics for your general everyday things, and will most likely give them another shot for that. But if you need exhaust work i would go somewhere else.

Just recently had a major problem with my 2005 GMC ENVOY DENALI. Took it into Mike and the guys at LONG LIFE AUTO. Within 2 hours of taking it in Mike had diagnosed the problem as a blown fuse box. The whole unit had to be replaced. I was completely freaked out to find the part alone had to be gotten from the Dealership at a cost of $939. With a total repair cost of $1200 . While trying to decide how I was going to pay., one of the guys there found the cost for the part insane and discovered the one that was quoted was not the one for my vehicle, The one for my vehicle cost $297.40 and the final bill was $531. Big Big savings. Very appreciative that they went above and beyond to be honest about the extreme price drop, instead of just gouging me for the original quote. I recommend anybody that needs a outstanding mechanic thats completely honest and will treat you fairly to go see Mike and his guys first .. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH GUYS

Was quoted over $450 for new brakes by another shop I went to, brought my vehicle here and for $60 they solved the problem and indicated that brakes were in good shape and did not need replacing.

Hurray for Mike and the fellows at Long Life Auto! Mike is a bona fide “car whisperer.” My Subaru’s Check Engine light kept coming on and the car’s computer kept saying it needed a new catalytic converter. Ouch!!! A potential thousand+ dollar repair. I took it to a Subaru specialist for a second opinion and all they could do is read the computer code and offer to charge me two thousand dollars. Double-ouch!! Mike looked it over, questioned the computer’s code, found a small leak in the exhaust pipe, and repaired it with a weld. Problem solved. Long Life Auto saved me a thousand dollars, for which I am grateful.
