Four strikes, youre out.The first time I booked an appointment, my supposed barber shuffled me off to a different guy seconds after I walked into the shop. Not much harm, since the cut from New Guy (Sean) was good. The second time I booked directly with Sean, got a text confirmation the day before, and when I arrived for the appointment . . . Sean wasnt there. And not due to an emergency or something legit--the other staff called him and found out that he simply forgot the appointment! Unprofessional and a waste of my time to say the least, but Sean eventually called me back and offered to comp my next cut a few days later. Again, the cut was okay.Third time, I went to book Sean by sending direct texts to his phone the way I was newly instructed. No answer. So I go to book online only to find out that Sean was gone, so now its time to get cut by Freddy Fuel aka Freddy Sanchez, the owner. The appointment gets locked in, but on the day of the cut, Freddy calls asking to come in earlier--something I explicitly said could NOT happen because I was coming after work. Also, by this time, health ordinances had gone from mask to no mask back to mask, so I came masked up. None of the staff wore masks, and when I mentioned why I had chosen to wear one, Freddys response was yeah, well were not doing that unless we have to. I pointed out that the mandate was going back into effect the next day and he said well, even then were not gonna do it. On top of that, he did my cut in a hurry and missed several spots. This all took place between January and last month (July). Now, at this point, Im seriously considering a new shop. But I dont wanna be That Guy because, after all, Ive put up with this a few times, so I obviously know what Im getting into, right? Besides, its been a challenge to find someone who does Black hair, blah blah blah.Well, this past Sun 8/22/21, I book an appointment with Freddy for Wed 8/25 at 12:30 pm. Im gonna stop in during my lunch hour, no rush, no harm, no foul. On Monday and Tuesday, I get multiple emails and texts confirming the appointment. Wednesday morning, same thing. Now its heading toward 12 pm and Im about ready to head to the shop. Everythings all set, right?WRONG.At 11:38 am, I get a single text: Clip joyntes closed today our apologies for the inconvenience Thats it. No explanation, no follow-up. Less than an hour before the appointment. And, to add unprofessional insult to injury, at 6:20 pm, I get a missed call from the shops main line--which Im convinced is Freddys personal cell. I say that because I then received a full 3-minute voicemail of garbled nonsense mixed with bits of cussing and conversation. My assumption is that Freddy or whomever accidentally butt- or pocket-called me.Whatever. Thats it, Im DONE with this place. I need a thesaurus of words for unprofessional to describe the service and staff. Flaking on appointments, careless disregard for health and safety protocols, and inconsistent communication with clients are waaaaay too much to pay on top of a $45 haircut.Id give the place zero stars if I could is an understatement. So Ill go with an expression that embodies the spirit of this place:What kind of clip joint are you running here? The answer is simple: A bad one.
Lindsey really hooked me up with a great low taper. Excellent cut, good price, good pandemic hygiene. Five ⭐
Clean, fun, and great cuts!Bf doesnt use yelp so this review is for him!He needed to get cleaned up now that hes going back to work and the Clip Joynte got him in right away. They took his temperature, gave him a mask, and there were only 4 people in the shop. I saw all the employees cleaning constantly! He had a complimentary beer, and Freddy gave him the best cut hes had in a long time. Theres a reason we keep coming back!Theres vinyl on the walls, good music playing, and everyone has a great attitude. Definitely passes the vibe check!
Great modern take on an old school barbershop.
Amazing!! Great hair cut. Great service. And she was able to apply the treatment I wanted to my hair.
Great haircut and amazing shave! Highly recommend!
Ive been coming here to see Kevin for years and its always 5 stars. Nice place with good people. I highly recommend!
Been going here for over 5 years. Great environment and everyone is very professional and great at cutting hair
Terrible customer service. I had an appointment for a house call but after they didnt show up I called and they had no idea about it and they didnt even care that they wasted my time. They texted me afterward and tried to put blame on me not knowing they are closed while they had a house call appointment system on their business page. Lots of other hair salons even in Covid times. Just bring your business somewhere else.
Went to the Clip Joynte and got a brand new haircut! Never before have I not really had to guide my barber, Freddy had a new twist on my old man haircut and at first I wasnt sure but it is a resounding success! Everyone loves it and they say it brings out our shows my recent weight loss, so thats a plus too. More than anything I want to express how great the whole experience was from start to finish, from the greeting to the wash and beard trim all boxes checked!
I love this place. Great people. Great vibes.Kevin is an awesome barber!
Great cut. Good service. Cool location
Awesome spot for a cut and usually a great film from days gone by in the back.
On business in the Bay Area and I walked into the Clip Joynte for a fresh fade. Thats EXACTLY what I got! Great Atmosphere, Friendly & Talented Barbers, and some West Coast Hospitality made this a GREAT expereience for me. Ill be back in a week for another trim. Thanks Guys!
We had just moved back to California and its hard to find a barber for my son who is autistic. They are a great and friendly staff and for a kid that doesnt like getting his hair cut . He was quite sean took his time to cut his hair change the blades so they wouldnt get hot and gave him the world class treatment and for that Im grateful
This place is great, all the barbers there are top notch. I recommend an appointment
Great barbers and bsrberets here. Everytime I get my hair cut they do an excellent job and pay attention to detail. Thank you.
Best barbershop I have ever been to!
My dude Don has it on point. And the owner brings a whole new level of service that you wouldnt expect to find at a barber shop.
Lousy haircut and it took soooooo long for him to cut my hair. Idk why.
Haircut was whatever. They dont take card and dont say cash only so make sure you take out cash unless you want to make a trek to the ATM
Was bummed to leave my barber in SF, but Christine honestly gave me a better cut for a solid price
