I cannot even begin to tell you how excited I was to see a Bishops open up in Walnut Creek. While it is a bit of an odd place, I love that it is so close to me. I had been to a few of the Bishops in Portland before I moved to the Bay Area and was so disappointed they werent here yet!I went in to get an all over highlight and haircut. Bianca was absolutely amazing! She is super friendly (all of the staff there is as well), and definitely knows her stuff! I have spent the last 2 years trying to find a good stylist, and am happy to say I finally found one! She definitely worked her magic on my hair that I had been coloring at home with color from Sallys. I was expecting it to be a little orange since my hair normally pulls red tones, but she got me about 2 levels away from where I want to be!! My hair was pretty much black, and I have never had that much success in the past.Prices are extremely reasonable, and the free beer is an added bonus! :)

We love this place! I took my son there for gender-affirming haircut in October, and we got a wonderful barber (Christopher) who completely transformed his look. He is thrilled, and feels so happy in his own skin. We just went back for a trim, and to get his bangs reshaped. My son has a barber for life!

Bianca is a color genius! She is super friendly and knew that the color I wanted wouldnt look as good as I thought. She was very professional and the price was definitely right! I have super long hair and she did the best job ever! My hair looked fantastic and she matched it with the natural red I am! She has a client for life!

This was my first time at Bishops, and it was an awesome experience! My hairstylist Alvin made sure to understand what kind of hair cut I wanted and we collaborated together to come up with a great cut. The salon is a much more inviting and relaxing atmosphere compared to other salons I’ve been too. I’ll be back thank-you!

Got my New Years Eve cut yesterday and Toby did a banging job, as usual. Bishops is the only place I get my hair cut now. When I moved to Walnut Creek a couple years ago, I tried almost every barber shop in Walnut Creek and a few others besides. To me, none compare. Bishops is super LGBT friendly and has many skilled barbers. I cant recall a bad haircut or an uncomfortable interaction in the two years Ive been coming here. Word to the wise: You used to be able to get a walk-in within the same half hour pretty regularly, but these days Ive noticed you usually need an appointment to be sure youll get in the day you want. Book before you go!

I went in for some highlights today and seen Christopher. He was such a sweetheart and did an amazing job! I’m looking forward to coming back in in a few more weeks to add some more blonde.😁

The best, as usual. Literally drove here from SF because they are unparalleled. I have sort of frizzy mostly wavy brown hair and Chris was SO patient with me.The important thing is: their stylists listen and don’t rush you through. You’ll leave with your favorite haircut every time.

The first couple of times I had my haircut here I walked in about 30 minutes before closing. On two recent occasions I arrived around 6:30 and was declined a haircut. I was told the last cut starts no later than 6:30. The same woman was working both times. Dont know if there was a change in policy or if was a personal decision by one employee.

I have been getting my haircut and color done at bishops for the past two months + and I always have a great experience with the stylists and barbers. I like that you can walk in and get a great cut or color, no matter what time of day or stylist/barber you get. I also like that the shop is clean, new, stylish and plays great music!

This was my first time at bishops and Chris was awesome. I had recently got a horrible haircut and finding a new place is never fun.Needless to say Chris went above and beyond to make sure he understood what I was asking for and delivered.I definitely recommend and will come back.

Bianca is a rockstar and took the time to learn about my curl patterns and customize my chop (I think we took off over 6 inches!) to be the fun, light curly lob I dreamed of. A lot of stylists in the area dont know how to work with/cut curls (yanking them straight, cutting while sopping wet...), so Im very grateful I got to work with Bianca at Bishops. She even gave me her contact information to return for any minor fixes after styling it for a few days, but Im super happy with it and officially ready for summer. I love how easy it is to book at Bishops.

Went here for haircuts for a year, as the quality was reasonably good, but Ive finally had it with the ineptitude of the management. Last four visits featured 1) a wait-time of 20 minutes for a pre-scheduled appointment; 2) two failed walk-ins, where it would have taken hours to be seen had I waited it out, due to their apparent failure to ever have more than two hair-cutters working at a time; and 4) a refusal of service after a pre-scheduled appointment because the hair-cutter in question was not in fact qualified to do the short-cut that the online reservation system had scheduled me for with him; he gave me the option of coming back for an appointment with the only other hair-cutter present four-and-a-half hours later.TLDR: reservations are unreliable, and walk-ins are usually a no-go. So just dont bother.

Alvin did an amazing job on my husbands hair, we went in on a whim and normally I cut his hair (stylist of 6 years) but my husband is super picky. He listened and observed the whole consultation and put a lot of detail into the cut. So pleased with the experience here. Very friendly staff and I’m really excited that we found someone with such persicion.

3 poor haircuts here. Not giving them another try after: 1. The last haircut being awful. 2. A woman broke down in tears behind me, upset over her haircut. 3. Another customer coming in and demanding a refund as I was leaving. No idea why they have such good reviews, other than the beer, which is factored in the price of the expensive haircut, anyways.
