I started here about 2 years ago ( I took a couple moth break because of COVID) I started back again and I decided to share my experience so I can have more peers. Impact is a great place to train and teach yourself or your child discipline. It’s also a family owned business with very qualified instructors. The coaches are very caring and check up on you if you look down. I learn a lot at impact and I guess the only down side is that the lessons aren’t fast paced. We spend a month practicing a topic and that’s good to practice and really get a subject down. For me I get bored sticking to one thing but it’s just a personal thing. (Fun fact: I never stuck to a hobby until i did Muay Thai Impact because it’s a fun place and I guess the classes help me stick to it. Oh and I like making drinks) so in summarySummary:Impact is a great family owned business that genuinely cares for the students and want the students to grow strong. They have amazing teachers that want you to understand everything that teach to the fullest.

There is nothing negative I can say about Impact Martial Arts Academy. We looked at multiple gyms before deciding to go with Impact. You instantly feel welcome and Coach Sarah is always there to help. Our kids became stronger and more confident the more they trained. Coach Geno is a great teacher and highly recommend him and the other coaches. If youre looking for a tribe and a place that can make you or your kids better physically and mentally, Impact is the place.

When searching for place to start my martial arts journey walking into impact just gave me a warm feeling. Impact Martial arts is family oriented, youre not just a student you are part of a tribe. I study to arts here and from the beginning to now I can say the best are here. The detail they put into training to the welcoming atmosphere. Even in a full class they make sure to get to every student that needs help and able to give you the personal attention you need. There are no cliques like other schools. The coaches to other students are all welcoming. They offer a variety of arts and all the coachs are there to help you meet your own personal goals. From staying in shape to competing. Im active duty military & looked at a few gyms before deciding on this one. They will help accommodate your sea time as much as possible to make sure youre getting the most from your contract & offer a military discount. This gym has a very good team of instructors & classmates. They will help you achieve goals if youre looking to get in shape, for the love of martial arts, if you have competing in mind or indifferent. Ive been going to this gym for about 2 1/2 years now. I moved from Virginia Beach to Hampton & still make that commute because I just couldnt find a better gym in my opinion. But I would recommend that you look at multiple gyms first before making a decision like I did.

Impact martial arts is awesome. My son loves it! I like that they teach love in how they interact with each other and how they teach the kids to interact with each other. This is an excellent program for our child. The coaches are infinitely patient and present a great program of technical instruction while having lots of fun. We have seen our child’s self confidence and pride in new skills grow each week.

The classes are all levels taught together even in the fundamentals classes. That idea completely intimidated me at first as I have had problems with my breathing since I was sick back and March and have a few other things that have made other programs (like kickboxing) unable to work for me. These guys are FANTASTIC!! More advanced students help newer ones and instructors are watching and aiding all levels so that each person can make improvements every class. I’ve just turned 41 and am learning Muay Thai fundamentals while improving my health. It feels amazing and I’m learning ways to defend myself. I’m not looking to compete and that’s ok! They truly do want and embrace everyone who comes to class wanting to learn and when you sign on and they say “welcome to the tribe,” you become part of this amazingly positive family.I also have my 11 year old daughter in their TDP program and her confidence is truly increasing with each class. She’s learning ways to defend herself, how to be a positive and encouraging peer for classmates, and gaining another level of support for herself outside of virtual classrooms.

I haven’t trained martial arts in quite a few years. But I was able to hop in a fundamentals class seamlessly. Their apps and class schedule layout is really easy to use, especially since I am pretty busy and don’t have a stable work schedule myself! Come train!

I love it here I’ve been learning a lot and I feel like I’ve been progressing a lot. Deciding to learn muay Thai here was a great decision hoping to start practicing jiu jitsu here soon. Also if your in the service they are very understanding and flexible with their scheduling

We LOVE Impact! Our daughter started attending in 1st grade and is now in 4th grade. She completed the explorers TDP class (for the younger kids, 5-7 years old) and she tested for her black belt. Ive looked at many martial arts schools and Ive tried a few of them, but this school was hands down one of the best schools I tried. I may have only been there for a short time due to my schedule, but in that short time I was able to learn a lot. Theyre very organized in planning out what to teach. They leave no one behind and I know that this is a school that I would want to go back to.

Our 7 year old daughter has been in the explorers defense program for the past 7 months and she has grown leaps and bounds. We are a military family and we moved to the area last summer, our daughter was new in school and her confidence took a dive. With the help of Coach Eloy and the rest of the Impact Team our daughter has not only gained back her confidence, but is now thriving and growing strong inside and out. Greatness happens here and we are thankful for being a part of it.

The tribe at IMPACT has been one of the best experiences in my life. They teach an awesome set of martial arts thats second to none. As world class as the training is, the real treasure to be found there is the uniquely family vibe. Everyone from the staff to the students look out for each other. He started off teaching me privately in his home many years ago and started inviting others to train as to feed his passion for the art. Two years ago my daughter was shy, didnt know how to make friends, she used to get bullied and made fun of. I remember going to the dollar store, as I was parking my car I saw the kids training and my daughter was with me. She asked me if she could join and I told her no, but something told me to check it out for her. Walking in that studio was the best decision Ive made thus far for her. Two years later, she is out spoken, has a lot of friends and nonetheless, shes not longer getting bullied. Soon after, I signed my son up and he is improving also. The Impact family makes you feel welcome and all the teachers are awesome, smart, and talented. We are happy to be apart of the Impact Tribe :-) :-) :-)

This is the hands-down best place to go if you want to learn Filipino martial arts. I participated in a trial judo class which turned out being just joining the members of the class for the night. I was paired with multiple people for drills and conditioning, none of which were condescending, rude, or too rowdy. I visited Impact awhile ago and the instructor is a really good teacher and breaks down his lessons really well. He always displays a calm and respectful demeanor and makes his students feel important. What i like most is that its a family owned and oriented place. The husband teaches, the wife trains and runs the office and their chilfeen are their everyday training with them also.

Ive never had a better learning experience than Impact. While training with them, I learned a lot about myself; how strong i really was and how much potential i had. The training was intense, but also immeasurably fun and exciting! If you go to impact, every day will be a new adventure.

This place is full of talented athletes. I have trained here for 4 yrs while I was stationed in Langley afb. The schools martial arts programs are the best in my opinion. Top of the line instructors and coaches that have deep roots and are they are all highly skilled. The instructors and staff are very friendly and welcomes everyone with open arms. I’ve attended Martial Arts schools before, but haven’t experienced what I have here. There is a sense of unity, belonging, teamwork, and family. It’s refreshing and feels good to be a part of the IMPACT Tribe. My six year old started attending a couple months ago and he loves it. He’s in other after school activities as well, but this is the one that I don’t have to make him go to. He always wants to go and he always has a good time.What’s great about the children’s class is that the instructors work with the parents and are on our side. There’s a checklist for the children to work with before they can receive their white belt and one I had never seen before. It’s an improve by 1% method where the child is to improve by 1% each day at home by helping with chores and daily activities. The idea’s genius! And while my son does pretty well in those areas already we chose to make him work for it and we’ve noticed how much more grown and helpful he’s become. Going back to the subject of white belt, it’s earned not given here. The white belt signifies the beginning of the journey into studying the martial arts and earning it shows that a student is truly dedicating themselves.The concepts they’ve developed here and the instructors they have on hand are truly top notch because they all live what they teach. IMPACT started out as an idea and materialized into a school that started its humble beginnings out of the owners’ garage. It’s been a decade, if not longer since those days and it’s been awesome watching the school grow and evolve. I knew then as I know now that their dedication and passion would lead to something great and it’s been nothing less than amazing. I’m very proud and blessed to have them as friends and as family. Very welcoming atmosphere. They got awesome instructors and classes from striking to grappling and weapons. Open mat is also available to practice techniques you learned through the week.

My son enjoys bjj. The instructors are knowledgeable, patient, and fun to be around. Personally, I enjoy how difficult bjj is and that you are always learning. Impact academy is well equipped, spacious and clean. The staff is family oriented, polite and well mannered. I would recommend this academy to all.

Overall a great experience! Friendly, knowledgable, and warm staff and students. I truly enjoyed taking private lessons in an environment that allows me to learn at my own pace.

IMPACT was my home away from home. As a service member, I am constantly forced to uproot and move. In an attempt to make new friends and occupy my time, I checked out the school. Not only did I make friends, I gained a family. The atmosphere of the school is definitely a family one and no matter how long you been training, 1 day or 1 year, you are treated like family. And if you do have a gap in training, they will always welcome back like you never missed a class.The classes are great. I had the honor of training in all disciplines during my time in VA Beach. All levels can jump in a class and you will never feel neglected no matter the size of the class. They welcome questions and respect opinions. The instructors are very skilled in their respective arts and are always willing to slow down if you are not learning it right away.I highly recommend this school to everyone in the area. This is the best place to learn a wide variety of different martial arts from a great staff and prior students. They are very family orientated and very patient with each and every person who is on and off of the their mats. I highly recommend them for anyone who wants to learn kickboxing, Brazilian jiu-jitsu, self defense class, and various other classes. They have classes for all ages and abilities. Love them!!!
