My son was enrolled for over year and he seemed to enjoy it. I advise not sign any contract at this school. I signed a 3 year black belt plan. I had every intention of following through but half way I lost custody of my child. I pleaded with Ms. Gail, the owner, to allow me to pause the monthly payments until I got custody back. She refused to make any accommodation and threatened to sue. Ms. Gail followed through on her promise. I’m am currently in litigation on the settlement. Now that I have custody back, I’m currently looking for a good Taekwondo school.
Excellent instructor and staff. Centre went above and beyond to keep instruction going throughout the COVID lockdown with virtual, small group and even classes in the parking lot. I like focus is on discipline, focus, fun and learning.
After a 10+ year hiatus, I made the decision to start training again. My search led me to USTC. Master Lee, Instructor Diego, Instructor Gail, and Instructor Amanda are awesome. They really push you to excel, and remain patient. The facility is clean and well-maintained. When I walk in, I feel like I’m going to make progress. And when I walk out, I know that I did just that. For example, spinning kicks were NOT my strong point. But here at USTC, my spinning kicks not only hit the kicking targets, but broke 1-inch boards! That’s because I feel more comfortable practicing and making mistakes than I do in other areas, and the instructors support me. It all leads to growth. The students I’ve trained with are also great. Very encouraging of each other :)If you’re looking to get in shape mentally and physically, this is a great place to do it!
I cannot say enough about this facility and the school. This program teaches your child so much and in this day out children need to lead by example to others. I enjoy all of the staff master lee has built a wonderful affordable program he truly cares for these children. I also enjoy Mrs. Gail she is so kind and warm hearted and wonderful to the children. I cannot say enough about this facility!
I am career Military and my professional and personal schedule is erratic at best for what I do making it difficult to find things for my Son to do that both builds character and provides great life skills while he is not with me. I have been extremely impressed by the great staff at US Tae Kwon Do Center in their professionalism and caring and teaching my Son. Frankly in response to LAN MAC I have no idea what this person is talking about. I watch my Sons practice as much as I can and never have seen them just sitting. In fact they are constantly on the move which is good for young children and when they are sitting they are receiving instruction and lessons of the 5 tenets of Tae Kwon Do, the Childrens Home Rules, and the Commandments of Tae Kwon Do. Also, having moved many times in my military career I have dealt plenty with the PCS orders (moving orders) and TAD (Temporary Duty Assignment) to include multiple deployments so I know that each of these are completely different from one another. US TC policies are clearly stated and does include NO PENALTY for PCS Orders. A DEPLOYMENT is NOT PCS orders. Just the same as any rental lease only PCS Orders can break a contract without penalty as they are forcibly being relocated and will not return. Unlike a deployment. Sounds like someone is just trying to get out of a commitment....I recommend looking at past reviews and notice that the other negative review was left by an instructor who was fired for conduct unbecoming of a black belt ....They have high standards not only for their students but for their instructors. USTC is who I want to teach my Son because of their high standards, for themselves and what they expect of their students. My child will be better off reaching for high standards instead of being held to mediocre expectations, taught to find an easy way out or cheat an honest establishment out of their good reputation with his dishonest behavior...............
This is the best place to learn Tae Kwon Do, and to build your character.
I love how this Tae Kwon Do Center offers more then the normal martial art schools out there have to offer. The US Tae Kwon Do Center offers educational and fun activates that kids, teens, and adults can participate in. The teachers there are always making it a safe and fun filled environment for all ages. They also offer another martial art class that teaches Aikido. If your looking for a good place to learn a new martial art this would be the place. 5/5 stars ^^
I have been a student at Tae Kwon Do for 9 years and I absolutely love it. Everyone there is so kind and it feels like home. I NEVER WANT TO LEAVE!!
I think this is a good place for anyone who has a well behaved child with no problems. I have 7year old child who was told by the instructor that he couldnt believe that he was attending a certain school based on his behavior at TKD - the child was also being evaluated at the time for ADHD and impulse control...this feedback from the instructor really hurt his feelings and self-esteem and he resisted going back. When I spoke to the owner about the entire situation including the doctor recommending my son try less structured activities while not in school and trying to facilitate a conversation between the instructor and my son to help him feel more comfortable, she didnt seem interested in resolving the issue and told me she would contact me and never did. That was 5 months ago and Im still paying monthly fees as per the contract. I asked if I could pay a flat fee to get out of the contract or even use the remaining contract for myself as an adult participant in the classes but she said shed have to call billing to check and she never got back to me. When I asked if I could call billing l was told that only she could call billing. I have another son who really did well there and enjoyed his time, but this experience really made me feel like this place operates strictly as a money making business and does care as much about the kids individually or about you as a patron if theyve already got you locked in a long term contract. I would recommend not signing too long of a contract and be aware that although not disclosed upfront, there are many additional costs such as a $2 fee for every board they break, $52 for every belt ceremony, and an almost $400 charge for sparring material that can only be purchased there. I really dislike posting negative reviews, but really wish there was something like this up for me to read before I made my decision to sign a long contract. Since sharing info on my own experience, others have shared their similar experiences with me. Hope this helps you!
I am career military and my schedule on the deployment team as a defense contractor makes my schedule change at times. My daughter has aced her State Reading exam with a perfect score, overcame health obstacles, confronted being bullied in her classroom, and has learned diplomacy within a constructive and empathetic circle of friends. Recently she is getting 100 percent on her Math and 97 on her Science exams. We are here to stay. Thank you for her Outstanding Student awards, and huge credit to this staff for achievement of the Advanced Proficiency on her progress report for school behavior...Astounding dedicated staff, safe and professional school, we have been here 5 years and are coming back for more.Thank you, USTC!
My child has attended USTC for almost a year and has become more focused and has more self-discipline as a result. The facility is clean and in a great location. In the summer of 2015 after many years the head instructor moved out of the area, which resulted in a transition period. Change is always difficult but as a result the school now has a wonderful head instructor, Master Lee. I would (and frequently do) recommend USTC to anyone looking for a quality martial arts school.
Good learning environment. Fresh Martial arts curriculum. Good moral and ethical character development for younger students. Good exercise for adults. Money well spent
School is Great! Ive been going here for 2 years now and both my kids showed tremendous improvement not just in Tae Kwon Do but also outside the school.
This place is awesome!! The owner Gail is great as well! Bring your child here!! You will be very pleased!
My son needed an after school program; we chose USTC because it would expose him to martial arts and not only would he learn a sport but he would also develop his character, build self-confidence and self-discipline. I was in school full-time when he was enrolled and managing my family through a deployment. USTC was nothing but accommodating and clear in their policies. Their business sense was rivaled only by their care of my youngest son whose confidence and self-control blossomed under their direction. I had never heard his voice so loud and self-assured as I did the night he tested for his yellow belt. Ill never forget it and will always be grateful they have been and continue to be a part of the village raising my son. We are continuing on with USTC over the next several years by way of the Black Belt Club, an absolute value for the monetary expense, and above all else, for the lifetime impact it will have in my childs development from a little boy to a young man.
US Taekwondo Center is an outstanding dojo filled with so many caring and generous people. I have been doing Taekwondo for ten years now and I am a third degree black belt. After my previous Taekwondo school closed down, I spent a long time looking for a dojo that was similar to what I had learned at that Taekwondo school.Everyone at USTC was so welcoming when I first arrived and now everyone feels like a part of my family. Ms. Gail is the most caring and hard working Taekwondo administrator that I have ever met. She always listens to what I have to say and is such a positive and kind person. Master Lee is the greatest master that I have ever known. He has not only taught me new taekwondo concepts but he has also taught me leadership skills. I am so happy that Master Lee told me about USTC and that I decided to come here. Myself, and the other instructors at USTC are super hard working, caring, and great role models to everyone who attends USTC. So, if you are looking for a taekwondo dojo that has some positive and uplifting people, USTC is the dojo to join!!! I dont know where I would be right now if it were not for Master Lee and Ms. Gail. I am very thankful to be a member of the USTC demo team and an instructor! Come in to US Taekwondo Center and join the family!😊
I was a parent observing the BEGINNERS spend half of the class sitting. Management is terrible about everything except collecting money and filling out paperwork for you contract. If you are in the military this is not the place for you.itsveasier No cancellation if you are getting deployed .. cost me $664 for one month cause I got deployed and had to cancel. What a waste !
We have 2 boys here and they love...Master Bae rocks!
My son is going there for a year now, he loves it
