Great experience at this location. They picked me up at the ferry port and had good cars available. They went above and beyond when we forgot my cellphone in the car. The manager had it shipped back to the Avis in Ceiba so that we could easily pick it up. Thank you.

Awesome company; amazing employees! My family and I will definitely recommend Avís from Vieques, PR to anyone. During our visit we called around for a car rental and everyone was out of cars for a month. However, Avis had a rental for us and at a reasonable price. The company picked us up from the Ferry without charge. We also left a cell phone in the car which they gladly mailed to us without hesitation.Thank you so much Avis, greatly appreciate it.

Horrible Avis location. I’ve always been renting from Avis in the states and around the world. The counter lady made a mistake on the contract & pick up time and said she couldn’t do anything about it…Until I asked to speak to the manager. The car wasn’t clean either when I picked it up. Also, the manager wasn’t well informed of Avis policy such as the 29 minute grace period and few other things. I had to call Avis 1800 to get the answers I needed.

Left the car in literally perfect condition. Barely drove it. Took great care of it.Charged an extra 600 without any communication or notice.

Hands down the worst customer service I’ve ever received in my life. They charged us $500 because the passenger seat was “damp” in our jeep - which it was not. Unbeknownst to them I speak Spanish and I could hear the two ladies insulting me under their breath.Also their prices are not competitive at all and I would recommend that you don’t go here at all.

BY FAR THE WORST EXPERIENCE RENTING A CAR IN PR. THE WOMAN WAS MAD BECAUSE I INTERRUPTED HER LUNCH. TOTALLY UNPROFESSIONAL. Absolute worst experience of my life. They have ridiculous hidden charges like $500 wet seats and also overcharged me for our daily rate.AVOID AT ALL COST

They picked us up from the airport. The car was clean when we got it, a little sandy when we left it. Main thing is watch out for horses in the road and theres missing street signs around the island.. Map functions are a little spotty around the island so have a back-up plan or give yourself more time..

Super great customer service. Really efficient fast service and very helpful when we realized we forgot our car key after we arrived back to the mainland. Im not even sure who I talked to, but she had the key on the next flight out of Vieques and we picked it up from the Ceiba airport in less than an hour. Saved our butts for sure!

This location was for Vieques. Me and my family waited over an hour and a half for someone to pick us up because they were 10 minutes away. The driver never showed, we called over 3 times and everytime they were 10 minutes away. Eventually we were able to get a vehicle but we lost nearly 2 hours of time, which could have been spent exploring the island.

Everyone at Avis was helpful, friendly, and professional. The Jeep rental and return were seamless. They drove us back to the ferry after the car drop off. 5 stars.

We rented a jeep from this Avis. They were extremely accommodating, leaving the jeep for us after hours and allowing us to come by in the morning to sign papers. Very helpful!

Careful with the hidden charges, staff doesnt communicate clearly the companys policies. Was told the gas tank was a 20 dollar fee plus gas and was charges 20 dollars per gallon. Support local companies as they have better care for customers.

Game changer-- also I really liked the lil car they gave us-- a Hyundai Kona-- a couple of horses having a bar fight nearly ran it right over and even though our lives were in danger all I thought as they raced toward us was I cant beleive I didnt get the insuranceYes, maybe your credit card will cover it, but are you sure? Even horse related damage? If anyone can assure me of the completeness of coverage from their card, that would save me a lot. Otherwise just get the insurance so you can enjoy your vacation.

Great experience here. Everything was sold out on the day of our arrival and Avis had one SUV, so booked it thru priceline and went in to pick up car. Super friendly lady in front desk. She went above and beyond to accommodate us.

So I rented the car on November, 22. Everything seems to be perfect - nice guy Ricky gave me the papers and keys and showed me the car in less than 5 minutes from our arrival. I asked him if its possible to extend the rent for one day if we decide to stay a little bit longer on the Island, he said - no problem, just give a call at this phone number.The car was in great condition and we enjoyed it for 3 days and decided to stay on the island for one more day. So I called this number to extend my rent period, but the lady on the phone told me that I cant do it and have to come to office for assistance. So I drove there and they told me that I need to return the car before 5pm on November, 25 and they close on 26 because of Thanksgiving Day!!!Anyway I dont have any choice cause I left my guys on the beach and I need to drop off one of our mate in the airport around 2pm. In the airport Ive been told by workers that they have special boxes for rental car keys and everybody usually drop the car off in the airport parking lot and give the car keys to the airline workers so they can store it in the box. Excited I was driving back to AVIS and asked them politely couple of times if they can allow me to to this. The manager told me firm NO. She started saying me that something could happen in the parking lot and it will be my fault, I told her I dont care cause I have Premium Insurance. So anyway I had to drive back and force for whole day and return the car before 5pm. And they even didnt give me a ride back to my rental house which is only 10 minutes ride from the AVIS, they dropped me at the nearest store which is 2 miles down the hill.What kind of customer service is that?On the Vieques they have a lot of rental car companies, all of them were open on Thanksgiving day! So keep it in mind while renting.Ive spend $ 420 for 3 days and 5 hours and I had to spend another 50 $ to get me to place and drive me to the airport next day.

Dont expect service with a smile at this Avis outpost. But the service is quick. The cars are mostly new. And a ride to and from the ferry or airport is complementary. The rates are the highest on the island, but Avis saved me time and I got to drive a six month-old Wrangler for a week.

I truly had to write these guys a review. My flight left at 810 and they didnt open until 8:00. They called me back earlier than their start time worked with me to pick up my car earlier and even drove me to the airport in time to catch my flight. Thank you guys so much.

Ricky, the employee, was very friendly and answered all of my questions with good detail. The jeep I rented was in very good conditions, had a spare and everything to change it in case of a flat. I ended up paying a little bit more because I asked for the insurance which covers every type of damage (I was much more relaxed after applying it to my rental, highly recommended). Also, there is a fee for renters under the age of 25 but at least they let you rent from them. The place is next to the only 2 gas stations in the island which is very convenient. At the end of our rental, they asked to give us a free ride to our place, ferry or airport. From my experience, everything went smooth and I do recommend the place although it may be pricey.

We rented a Jeep for a day in Vieques, customer service was great until it was time to return the vehicle. The only regulation to return it was to do it between 8am and 1pm, we decided to drop it off on our way to the ferry at 10am. When we got there, front desk was not available only the detailers were there, who weren’t aware of the returning process therefore they would not take the key. Our ferry was scheduled to leave at 10:30am and front desk was expecting for us to wait on her. When asked to speak to somebody in charge, one of the detailers gave me a phone number of somebody who was no longer employed there.At this point it’s already 10:18am so we decided to leave the keys in the glove compartment, after multiple calls we finally got a hold of somebody at the front desk. She mentioned we should have waited for her because she was at the airport picking up cars; this should have been mentioned when we initially asked about the returning policy. When we tried to explain to her where we put the key, she insisted that the key was not in the glove compartment. Luckily we had it all on video, which we send to her, and all of a sudden the phone call got “disconnected”.We kept calling back, with no answer. She finally answered and said the detailer had grabbed the key; and instead of recognizing that the key was where we told her we left it, she continuously stated that we were at fault for not getting there when she was there, which should have been between “8am and 1pm”.

This company is horrible. Run as fast as you can in the other direction.We were coming across on the ferry at 4:30p on a Saturday. I called ahead to make sure the Avis office would be open and the office manager said they closed at 5pm. Was not willing to help a visitor, insisted wed have to come in Monday morning to pick up the cars. What an absolute jerk. Not a care in the world about good customer service.And then at the end of the week, would not honor coupons from a rewards credit card. So terrible customer service and I got screwed for $950. And the customer service supervisor at 1-800-AVIS was the rudest excuse for a professional Ive ever met. A literal soup natzi.For the rest of my life I am a sworn enemy of Avis.

Young lady we dealt with was polite and informative for everything we needed. I felt all the rental places on the island were a little high priced considering we were there in the off season (Culebra was 1/2 the price of Vieques for a Jeep). The off season hours were 9am-1pm but they allowed us to return the vehicle after business hours and told us the vehicle became their responsibility after we left it in their lot. No issues whatsoever.

Could not rent a car but from all the places it looked very nice and professional. Rent in advance before coming to vieques. Is not like Culebra that you can rent Jeeps like candy.

Brand new 2020 Jeep Wrangler for our trip. They were slammed busy but super functional, leaving the car after hours at the airport. Allowed a change of return time too. Not cheap but no place is during the holidays.

We reserved a Jeep wrangler from Jan 8th 10 am- 10th 10am. Pick up and drop off on time and very simple, no extra charges. Great company! I read a lot of bad reviews of all the rental car company on vieques, so I decide to go with big company like AVIS, it turns out to be a pleasant experience. I would recommend this place with no doubt!!

If I could give this place a negative review I most definitely would.Not only were they very unprofessional, but they are thieves as well.During my stay I rented a car for the weekend from them. About 5 minutes after I dropped the car off I remembered leaving the phone in the cubby on the dashboard of the jeep, so I called to let them to know to grab it so I could come back and get it.The lady that answered the phone was very rude, and would not even check the car until I begged and pleaded with her, and threatened to call the cops. She finally went to check, or so she says and came back stating it was not there!I know I saw this phone before I got out of the car just forgot to grab it, her and the other employee Luis Gonzales were definitely in it together and stole my phone.I have pictures and videos of my children on there that cannot be replaced.

Always pick Avis

I am a member of Avis and have never had a negative experience until I rented a car at the Vieques location. The staff there are very unprofessional and are scammers. I agreed to rent a car for the amount of approximately $150 for two days and one night. I stayed at the W Vieques Hotel and was in a rush to catch my flight. It was my mistake for not returning the car in person, but the W Hotel Bellman said that I can leave the car with him and even showed me a key drop box for Avis. He informed me that it was a service the hotel and Avis provided for their customers. I trusted the bellman and even spoke with the Avis rep and they both confirmed that it was okay. The next few days I received a charge from Avis of approximately $533. I called them to see why this amount was charged and they claimed that I damaged the car. There was no notice or information or call from Avis prior to charging my card. The car was in mint condition when I returned it and they claim that I left the top off and there was rain damage in the interior due to the fact. I am in a nightmare trying to dispute the charge, because this is clearly a fraudulent charge. I called the supervisor at Avis several times and she hung up on me and did not try to help me at all and started yelling at me. DO NOT rent a car from Avis in Vieques. They are unprofessional and they will try to take advantage of you. I am canceling my membership for this reason. I have never in my years of renting a car experienced anything like this. This Avis location is the worst and I would rent somewhere else if there are other options.
